VALIDAR -

Grondar & Sherwood - Wandering about the house, he notes that Lothar is being questioned, but sees no sign of Artur or Arkane. "What of the mage and the warrior? Were they slain, or did they escape?"

"Both were slain, but not by our hand. They appeared to be in league with an ancient Cult of the Blackflame and when defeated burst into Blackfire. The Black Flames consumes only living things. All that remains of the two men are their bones.

"Actually, Sherwood, I am afraid that both of the Cult's agents were in fact killed by our hands. It was only when they died that they were consumed by the Blackflame, it seems. Without it, neither would have survived. Their bodies just would have been left a bit more intact."

"I am pleased to hear that Geris can be trusted. That will make our plan all the easier to implement," Validar will say. "When everyone is here, then we can present our plan to the assembled group."

"I agree that we should turn the lieutenants over to Geris as well. We cannot be certain to trust them as we discussed in the plan of attack."

"I have a great deal to say once the full group has assembled here, Lord Validar. The situation has going beyond what I expected and they deserve to know what they are dealing with."

"Indeed. Once we have all the final tasks completed, we should have this discussion and then get some rest. The sun will be up soon."

When Laucian admires the silvery blue sword that had belonged to their enemy, Validar will approach him. "It is a beautiful weapon is it not. The metal is known as Mithral and is often enchanted with no small power. It appears to be similar to the oneI carry." Validar will pull forth his own blade and present it to Laucian for further observation.

Later, when Chareos and Laucian both agree to continue with the group to hunt the Cult of the Black Flame, Validar will be pleased. "Thanks to both of you for continuing to ride with us on our mission."

Sherra:

On her way to the barge, Corley adds one comment that lets Sherra know he missed most of her intented jest.
"Forgive me, Lady Sherra. I did not mean to speak for you. I was only voicing a suggestion."
"Really, it is not something to concern yourself over Lord Corley. I do not mind and the barge does need to be looked over."

Sherra reaches the barge and begins to examine anything she finds on board. She will be wary of anything that could be trapped and will make the effort to bring anything back into Lothar's house that could be immediately valuable.

As she examines every inch of the barge, she pauses and enjoys the feel of the cool dampness still on her skin and in her hair from the earlier swim. Too long has it been since I have felt the splash of waves upon my flesh and the smell of the sea filling my nostrils. Sherra focuses on those pleasant memories a moment longer before completing her task and returning to Lothar's house.

Once inside Sherra sees several of the others engaged in various activities. Interested in the acquired items, she still shows restraint and allows the mages the time they will need to identify everything. She also tries to pick up on the tail end of the conversation involving the Cult. She's still not sure exactly how the mood is in here, especially since we were not completely successful in keeping everyone alive that we wished. The guilt is still nestled in a corner of her being and Sherra believes it will be some time before that fades.
Later, when Chareos and Laucian both agree to continue with the group to hunt the Cult of the Black Flame, Validar will be pleased. "Thanks to both of you for continuing to ride with us on our mission."
"I know I have missed much of what has been discussed the past several minutes, but you may count me among those who will continue to ride with you Validar. I am not one to throw in my lot with just anyone, but as long as there is a genuine need for any skills I can add to this group I am with you." Sherra will try to smile lightly and have it appear sincere, but she is still not sure how all this will be received due to her "over efficiency" with her bow this morning.

Later when time allows and he is not busy, Sherra will seek out Grondar to ask him something in private.

Laucian

When Laucian admires the silvery blue sword that had belonged to their enemy, Validar will approach him. "It is a beautiful weapon is it not. The metal is known as Mithral and is often enchanted with no small power. It appears to be similar to the one I carry." Validar will pull forth his own blade and present it to Laucian for further observation.

"It is a fine work of craftsmanship, of which I have never laid eyes upon." as he looks up from the blade. He slowly replaces the blade to its sheath as Validar presents his own to him. The elf looks at him oddly as if asking if he is sure, Hesitantly he takes the sword from him. The balance of the sword is surprising to him as it is lighter than his own long sword. He will raise it to his eyes and look at it closely from hilt to point. He notices the detail of the hilt "This is fine craftsmanship where did you obtain such a weapon?" he will return the weapon to its owner "I thank you for allowing me to observe your weapon, Not many men would allow another to do so."

As Sherra is assigned the task of securing the barge Laucian will follow the Dark garbed women and proceed to help her secure the barge. As he reaches the barge he will look around from the banks on the opposite side of the river to near side to make sure nothing is out of place. Afterward he will begin to help Sherra in securing the barge. He will take care in unloading anything that Sherra designates. For a few moments the Dark featured women pauses almost as she is enjoying the gentle rocking of the water beneath her her feet. Soon after she begins to inspect the ship, Laucian will move along side her while examining a few crates "Do you miss it?" realizing he is being vague he will add," your home I mean."

VALIDAR -

Sherra approaches at a late point in the conversation:
"I know I have missed much of what has been discussed the past several minutes, but you may count me among those who will continue to ride with you Validar. I am not one to throw in my lot with just anyone, but as long as there is a genuine need for any skills I can add to this group I am with you." Sherra will try to smile lightly and have it appear sincere, but she is still not sure how all this will be received due to her "over efficiency" with her bow this morning.

"I believe that I am not alone in stating that there would be a genuine need for your skills with us, fair Sherra. I am honored to have you continue to adventure and do battle with us. Combatting the Cult will not be easy and I am sure you will have plenty of opportunities to ply all of your skills in opposing them."

Laucian - "It is a fine work of craftsmanship, of which I have never laid eyes upon." as he looks up from the blade. He slowly replaces the blade to its sheath as Validar presents his own to him. "We may not be close friends, Laucian of Grunalf, but we have the comradery of battle. Though we are different races and have very different backgrounds, we have joined our hearts in combat. I had my doubts about this group when it was assembled and we still have to temper our togetherness in the fires of battle, but so far we have done what we set out to do. The future should be quite glorious for our band."

Story of the sword -

Post by Validar »

VALIDAR -

Sorry I didn't respond to Laucian's question about where the sword came from, but I had to look it up. It may only be a few months for Validar, but it was about 13 years for me!

Laucian - "This is fine craftsmanship where did you obtain such a weapon?"

"Ah what a tale to tell, my elfin friend. It was recovered during one of the Seekers most glorious and most terrible adventures. We had assaulted a Temple of Hextor in the village of Whispering Hollow while helping what we thought was a young woman search for her lost father. The woman in fact betrayed and killed many of our number, including myself, they tell me. This sword was recovered from the treasure trove hidden in that temple alongside a green-dragon slayer, which would also prove to be instrumental in that adventure. It has served me well since I claimed it. This is a magnificent weapon." Validar will admore it briefly once more before returning it to his scabbard.
