Roll Call: Flux, Menagerie, Tesla, Eldrich, Frostbite, Gargoyle, Xanaphia, Purple Phlox, Powershift, & Sea Guard vs. Flex, Powerstone, & Sea Conqueror
In Downtown San Diego, the main group of the Vigilant was en route back to the Starr Building when they were attacked by unknown yet vaguely familiar beings. Water suddenly materialized around Menagerie, in the form of Goldstar, and her passenger, the enigmatic Eldrich. The water swirls about them, trying to force its way into their lungs. This was a concern for Lily at first, until she realized that she no longer needed to breath in her current form.
Eldrich, however, wasn’t as fortunate. As the water began to fill his lungs, he mentally activates the power of his amulet, generating a protective force field. The expanding field pushes the water away, while at the same time protecting both Eldrich and Menagerie.
While Eldrich catches his breath, Menagerie searches for the source of the attack. She quickly realizes that the water itself is the attacker! The water continues to flow around the outer edge of the force wall and even cries out, “Why won’t you die!?” in a strangely familiar voice.
An unseen attacker assaulted the brutish Gargoyle, causing the hulking man to plummet to the ground creating a large impact crater. However, the Gargoyle just shrugged off the crash like it was nothing. He looks around wildly, trying to find his attacker.
Overhead, Flux was also attacked and orders the Vigilant to pair off and fight back. Frostbite generates an ice slide away from Flux, taking Sea Guard with him.
Frostbite wrote:“Hope you can surf guard.” He says just as he jumps off Flux’s hand, As he does so he gestures before him causing an Ice slide for him to move about on anchoring it on a nearby building he will move toward Gargy.
“Very well, actually,” Sea Guard answers as he holds on to Frostbite. He doesn’t seem affected by the cold Frostbite generates.
As the pair slide closer, they see something strike Gargoyle again, uprooting the man-beast and sending him flying once more. Still no sign of an attacker! Gargoyle isn’t hurt, but boy is he getting mad!
Not far away, the rest of the group closed in on Powerstone, the Powershift clone. Tesla soars in and hits Powerstone with an electrical blast, knocking him back a few feet. Powerstone retaliates with his own reddish blast of magical energy. Tesla is struck and it’s her turn to go flying backwards across the sky
Powershift weakly flies from Flux’s hand freeing the giant-size hero from the burden of his passengers. It’s clear that Powershift hasn’t yet recovered from having his magical jewel forcibly removed by Morjok.
Once Powershift is clear, Flux turns his full attention to Powerstone. Reaching out, the giant-size hero smacks Powerstone, driving him from the sky! It’s now Powerstone’s turn to make an impact crater on the street below!
Amazingly, Powerstone pulls himself up and is looking to fight back! The Purple Phlox lands a close distance away and points her Crystal Headed Staff at the doppelganger. An energy discharge is fired from the staff, catching Powerstone in the forehead! The villain staggers for a moment, crying out in pain from the attack. Remarkably, he’s still moving! Dark red energy gathers about Powerstone’s jewel as he prepares to fight back!
