Outside Horton's Plaza...
Serena stands over Fire & Ice, pointing Blessed Salvation at the prone man. "Yield, stranger, for the battle is mine", Serena proclaims. "I do not wish to cause you permanent injury, but I shall do so to stop your mindless rampage. What say you?"
As Serena speaks, the flames surrounded the man suddenly change into an icy sheath. It only takes Fire & Ice a second to come up with a response. "Back, off bimbo! I'm tired of being pushed around by everyone!"
Fire & Ice starts to point his hands directly at Serena. However, a blast of nuclear energy courtesy of Major Star settles the issue. Fire & Ice is struck in the chest and sent down for the count.
Not too far away, It examines the wound it received from the Wildcat's claws. Red blood flows freely from the slashes. It watches this curiously. As It stares at the gashes, the flow of blood begins to slow. His furry lizard-like hide begins to mend itself.
It's assaulter, Wildcat, regains her bearings from being attacked by the Silver Avenger and Yu. Not feeling right and rapidly being closed in by the Goldstar and the Silver Avenger, the Wildcat leaps away. She reaches the rooftops of Horton's Plaza in a single bound.
"You won't get away from me that easily!", Silver Avenger Rackham cries out. He manipulates the controls on his jetpack and is sent skyward in pursuit of the wayward feline.
"I said leave her alone!", Galeforce screams in anger. Once more she summons her swirling winds and they batter the Silver Avenger from the sky. He unceremoniously crashes into the side of Horton's Plaza and remains stuck there.
The fierce wind holds Serena at bay and flings Goldstar out of control across the street. It just barely manages to keep from being moved across the saucer wreckage.
Satisfied with her efforts, Galeforce's storm suddenly ceases and she flies after her feline friend. Goldstar manages to fire off a Photon Blast at the fleeing women, but is wide of the mark.
"Blast it!", the Silver Avenger Rackham curses as he extricates himself from the wall he had been embedded in and drops back to the ground.
"Forget them!", Major Star shouts as he flies past. "We've got to stop that dinosaur!" The Major continues on up the street towards where the T-Rex made his own entrance into Horton's Plaza. Grumbling under his breath, the Silver Avenger follows.
"Friend hurt?", Yu inquires as he sloshes up to It. The spitball's concern can be heard in its voice.
Having no visible target, Serena sheathes Blessed Salvation and approaches It and Yu. "Are you in need of healing, strange one?", she asks.
Before It can reply, a man in a blue jumpsuit simply appears a less than ten feet away. "Most extraordinary!", the man proclaims as he looks straight up into the sky. "A fissure in the space/time continuum!"
Yellow energy gathers about the man's right eye as he gazes upwards. As if in response to that energy, a faint yellow outline of something appears in the sky. It looks much like the rift that had been originally opened by the saucer. Even worse, yellowish translucent energy continues to pour of out the rift flowing outwards to the boundaries of a four-mile across sphere that's surrounding downtown San Diego...
With many observing the energy flowing from the still opened rift outwards to the boundaries of the sphere, those heroes gathered here fail to notice Daigon agonizingly rising to her feet once more.
The pain she felt from Serena was unlike anything she had ever felt before. "I don't know who or what you are, but there shall be a reckoning!", Daigon silently vows. "There are a great many scores that I need to settle, but at a time and place of my choosing!"
Adding another name to the list of those whom Daigon despise, she suddenly leaps up into the air and away from everyone. Much to her surprise, her leap carries her far further then she ever expected, carrying Daigon completely over the building and quickly out of sight.
Not far away from where Daigon had been, the man with the bulging muscles who had been barking stands looking up in awe. The sight in the sky frightens him for some reason and he runs off whimpering.

Inside Horton's Plaza...
Having flown Killer Frost away from the Neanderthals, Andrew Knight is shocked to discover his new appearance. Angrily, he calls himself Nightstalker and seeks retribution against those who did this to him!
Nightstalker takes to the air once more, flying back to the main battle site. As he flies along, his energy claws manifest themselves once more. Up ahead he sees his desired target: Hellfire!
Behind him, a shaken Blue Steel tries to figure out what has happened. Her armor is gone and her entire body is now icy white in color. Her hair has been flash frozen into place and resembles a sharp collection of icicles. An eerie blue glow emanates from her eyes. Very frightened at this change, Killer Frost stands there, unsure what to do with her self.
At the same time, Phaseflux steps out of the basement while shrinking back to normal size. Approaching the red-skinned man who had been Red Steel, he encourages the hero on in his battle against Hellfire. "Good going, Red Steel! Keep on him!"
Rage doesn't seem to even notice this. Instead he lands yet another double fisted smash to the back of Hellfire. This time Hellfire doesn't rise. His form shimmers and his demonic wings, horns, and tail return.
Seemingly unsatisfied with his defeat of Hellfire, Rage turns towards Phaseflux. Phase is momentarily unprepared for an up close look at Rage. The former Red Steel's eyes are now reddish-brown in color. Rage's face is twisted into a mask of anger and fury. The hero can almost feel the berserker rage pouring out of the man. Any semblance of an intelligent human being is accidental to Rage.
"You're next!", Rage bellows at the top of his lungs at Phaseflux! "Bring it on!" Rage doesn't notice Nightstalker flying up from behind him.
Not too far from Rage and Phaseflux, Cyrus MacGregor drops down to the floor of the plaza. He lands between Affrighter and his scythe-like weapon. Frost quickly begins to form on Affrighter due to his close proximity to Cyrus. Those nearest to Cyrus, Rage and Phaseflux, also note the temperature dropping around them, but are otherwise unharmed.
Cyrus shakes as he stares hard at Affrighter as if battling some internal moral dilemma. Finally, he points his hands at Affrighter, who has yet to stir, and attempts to imprison the madman in ice.
Concentrating, Frostbite tries to use his ice powers once more. He succeeds, but not in a manner that he had desired. Instead of ice forming around Affrighter, the entire area within fifteen feet of Frostbite is suddenly engulfed in a fierce snowstorm.
The blizzard blinds Phaseflux and he can no longer see the advancing Rage mere feet in front of him. Phase has no way of knowing of Rage has also been blinded or not. The storm pops up right before Nightstalker can reach Rage and Phaseflux.
Just outside the affects of the sudden blizzard, the Carnivore moves into the skateboard shop, violently tossing aside anything in his way. Near the back of the shop, the transformed Lily hears and smells the Carnivore's approach. Her curiosity piqued, rises up on her hind legs to get a better look at this new sensation. Spotting movement up ahead, the Carnivore leaps to the attack!
Lily peers over a fallen display just in time to see the Carnivore leap. Having misjudged the size of his prey, the Carnivore simply sails overhead. So surprised is he, that the lion-like man fails to notice the wall directly ahead of him and crashes into and through it head first. Lily can hear the man-beast roaring his displeasure back in the stock room.
A bit further up the concourse, Brian Walsh is flying along, his lovely wife Krystyna in his arms. Further behind them, the ancient T-Rex is rumbling along after them. Brian's plan was to lead the dinosaur to the Steel Squadron in hopes that they could deal with it.
However, Krystyna somehow was able to look ahead and visually examine each member of the Squadron and realize that it was they who were in the need of help. Daring a look ahead with his enhanced sight, Brian can quickly conclude that Krys assessment was correct. It is the Steel Squadron who is in need of assistance.
While a plan for the dinosaur begins to form in Brian’s mind, something else attracts Krys attention. The scene shifts once more before her eyes and now she finds herself behind the approaching T-Rex and that she is not alone…
Miffed that the dinosaur has moved while he was leaping, the Gargoyle continues his pursuit. He flexes his mighty legs once more he leaps directly at the head of the T-Rex. Timing it just right, Gargoyle slams into the giant lizards head while it was weaving back and forth as it ran along. Gargoyle continues directly forward from the collision and lands in the mall concourse, completely destroying a small watch repair kiosk upon impact.
The affect on the T-Rex is even more dramatic. Its head whips back around from the impact causing the dinosaur to spin to its left. Next its entire body whips around. The long tail goes flying out, smashing everything in its wide path. Twisting like a corkscrew, the T-Rex manages two complete turns before collapsing into the front of a shoe store.
The T-Rex is groggy, but still conscious!

GM Notes:
That brings up to and partially into Phase 8.
Hero Status:
IT – 14 of 50 STUN, 10 of 13 BODY
Phaseflux - 24 of 28 STUN, 12 of 20 BODY
The fighting is beginning to wind down. Fire & Ice is the only aggressor left in the area outside Horton’s Plaza and he’s out cold. Everyone else has skipped out.
Inside the plaza, the T-Rex is a bit up the concourse from the main battle zone. Only Rage and Carnivore are those aggressors left in the main area. Everyone else has either fled or is snoozing.
For those players with Mystery Powers I have been introducing affects when it seems logical for them to occur. Pretty much bringing them up every chance I get. Its up to the individual player to catch them.
For those with multiple ‘point and effect’ powers, such as the type Frostbite has I have been randomizing what actual power has been unleashed. It’s just another facet of having little control of your powers right now. With time and practice you’ll be able to have what you want happen. Since you’ve only gained powers just seconds ago, game time, it only makes sense that they may not function correctly at first.
On a more personal note, my own personal situation has once more taken an unexpected turn. Some of you might be aware that I’m self-employed these days. Unfortunately business has not been great thus far this year, so I picked up a second job delivering papers in the wee hours of the morning to help make ends meet. Naturally, two days after I started, business began to pick up. So, my days have been rather filled the last week or so.
Here’s what this means for the website. I will try to continue and churn out weekly posts for this game and do notes during the week when able. But if it runs over a few days, you’ll know why. Q file updates are going to be a bit more sporadic then they had been. I’ll get to them when I am able to get to them.
New material for the main website is going to be rather lean. There are a few things that I’m waiting to get back from Muskateer. One is a Bio update week featuring a new BIO for Whitney Parks and the BIO & write up for Dreadnought, the character who is replacing the Thing. Following that is Young Champions #26. That’s all the backlog there is.
There will probably be a few more game related pics in the works, as those require very little thought process in creating.
I have no idea how long this current situation is going to last. Basically until I can comfortably drop the second job. So you’re going to have to bear with us in the meantime.
One last note. I like the idea of putting your character name at the top of the post in bold. Makes it easier to figure out which character you’re reading. Thanks!

Phaseflux:
"Well, this just gets better and better" thinks 'Flux as he stares at the man who was Red Steel.
The man's anger is palpable--and now directed right at him! And flying up right behind that was a man with completley dark skin, white eyes, and glowing claws jutting out of his hands.
"Looks like I was wrong about that too" muses 'Flux, " 'cause here comes the Nether Lord they were panting for so urgently."
Phaseflux has no time to weigh his options as all sight of his opponents is blotted out by--snow?
"Now what!! Can't anything go right about this day?"
Having endured whiteouts in Alaska during his tour in Fairbanks, Phaseflux knows that sight and even sound will be greatly reduced. Accordingly he stands still, trying to listen for his foes movements without giving his own position away.
"Can't leave Big Red to the mercy of a Nether Lord; what's happened to him is not his fault. I hope somebody's on the way with help."
Thoughts of Primus' arrival notwithstanding Phaseflux will shrink down ( when his turn comes) to ready an unseen strike when a target presents itself. Will abort to defensive throw if needed before then.

FROSTBITE
Staring down at the motionless body of the white haired man, I begin to notice a slight frost begin to cover his form. Slowly I realize that I am the cause of this frost.
As I begin to focus my thoughts on the whitehaired man an unexpected snowstorm engulfs us. I cover my eyes with my hands and try to squint into to this storm. I am shocked by the fact that I can see clearly but am aware of it snowing. Completely dumbfounded by this fact i begin to turn in a 360 degree and begin to take in my surroundings.I will remain where I am and concentrate on making the storm cease.

Serena
Serena
The wonders of this new world are wide and varied indeed! People who fly and toss about blasts of air and fire without so much as casting a spell! For a brief second Serena tries to figure out just how she arrived in such a strange place. She vaguely remembers a battle with jet-black skinned foes, but little beyond that.
Standing over the man who gets flip-flopping between fire and ice, Serena points Blessed Salvation at him and demands his surrender. Much to the swordswoman's surprise, he refuses and acts like he is going to attack. Serena mentally kicks herself for not having erected protection against his elemental based attacks before engaging this foe. Her eagerness has gotten the best of her once more.
But salvation comes from the one called Major Star. A bolt of some unknown energy takes the fight out of the elemental. "My thanks, sir knight," Serena tells the armored man. "In my haste I had failed to prepare properly to engage this type of opponent."
Events happen fast and furious after that. The cat-like woman jumps away in an astounding bound. Her partner, the air elemental, summons more of her driving winds to held her foes at bay while they complete their escape. The red, white, and blue clad knight flies after quickly followed by his similarly clad squire. Even the demoness I downed earlier has vanished.
Seeing no immediate threats, I sheath Blessed Salvation. The strange furry lizard seems to most injured of those present. I go forth to offer him assistance.
"Are you in need of healing, strange one?", I inquire.
But before he can respond, another man garbed in blue appears out of nowhere. He mumbles some words that have no meaning to me, and his one eye glows eye. Somehow, he causes a strange opening to air in the sky. Serena watches in amazement as the yellowish wisps fly out only to merge with an even large collection of yellow wisps.
Serena is very unsure what to do. This brand of sorcery is far beyond her meager skills. The man in blue does seem to possess a noble spirit. Perhaps he is here to help.
Stepping away from the furry lizard, or pausing to cast a Cure Wounds spell on the lizard should he so desire it, Serena strides up to the man in blue.
“Do you know what transpires here? What is that opening and what is coming forth? Is there anything I can do to help?”

GM Note:
Quick note here. The whiteout triggered by Frostbite blocks normal vision. Other special types of sight will work just fine. Hellfire was on the outer edge of the effect and is obscured, but since 'Stalker saw where he dropped, finding him in the whiteout won't be too difficult.
(Basically, the power is Darkness vs Normal Vision in a 5" Radius)

FROSTBITE
While concentrating on bringing the blizzard to an end someone calls out to me. "
""Hey mister white christmas... you've got the wrong holiday. How about moving your cold front outta here before someone really gets iced. Capiche?""
Quickly finding the source, I am taken back by what appears to be a man with jet black skin flying towards me. I will place my hands at my sides to show i mean him no harm ( but ready to dodge if he comes at me) With Great concern in my raised voice, "I didnt mean to do this. I didnt ask for these blasted powers and Im doing my best to bring them under control! With All due respect, could you give me a little bit of breathing room while I try to put an end to this Blizzard?" I will return to concentrating on bringing the strom to an end. If successful, "There is one of those responsible for causing this!" pointing to Affrighter's form.

Goldstar
“WOW!”, Goldstar says in amazement as the cat-woman just leaps away, reaching the rooftops in a single bound. Goldstar’s intended target is gone before she can even fire a Photon Blast. “She’s fast!”
The next thing the gold-skinned woman knows, she’s been blown uncontrollably away on the winds generated by the cat-woman’s friend. Goldstar’s hair is wildly whipped around in this windstorm.
“That wasn’t very nice,” Goldstar calls out once she regains control of her flight. Since this windy-woman is an ally of the cat-woman, she must be a bad person too. So, Goldstar fires her intended Photon Blast at the windy-woman, but misses. Then she’s gone over the rooftops with her feline friend.
Goldstar hangs in the air, momentarily unsure what to do. Should she pursue them or not? Seeing that no one else is, and that two other men go flying down the street towards where that gray-skinned guy who shouts all the time had gone, and seeing that there’s really no one left to fight, Goldstar decides to follow them.
‘Star will fly after the two men, and if possible, catch up to them. Once beside them, she’ll say, “Hi! I’m Goldstar. Does stuff like this happen all the time around here?”

Stellar!
Brian Walsh
Whirling at the sound of a tremendous impact, Brian turns just in time to see the T-Rex go spinning into a store front as if knocked silly. Noting the sudden appearance of a grey skinned, neanderthal looking man, Brian resumes his flight path.
"Of course... we've got dinosaurs, why not hulking cave-men? Guess I can nix that idea. I'm gonna set you down over there hon."
Locating a safe place to deposit his wife, Brian will slow, trying to hover low enough to the ground that he can set Krys down gently on her feet at the limit of their arms' reach (Keeping my own body parallel to the ground so as not to burn her with the exhaust. If I can't hover in this position, I'll slow to a crawl so she can catch her footing without falling.)
"Time to see if this bird packs a punch!", Brian says as he soars toward the battle.
The only person still standing that he recognizes is phaseflux; he had seen the costume-clad man deliver a blow to one of the more hideous looking villains as he'd glanced over his shoulder while leading Krys to safety. It seems as though he's battling a large Red skinned man when suddenly a man covered in ice gestures, obscuring the battle with a blinding snow storm. Assuming the storm doesn't block his radar sense Brian will fly up to its fringes. Remembering how his navigational control worked similarly to piloting an aircraft, but responding to his desire rather than his hand on the stick, he will try to make the same connection desiring to fire the main guns. His initial intention was to target Frostbite in the belief that he must be one of the villains (in Brian's mind a hero wouldn't sacrifice one of his own to get at an opponent, a villain would suffer from no such restraints); however, if the conversation between Frostbite and Nightstalker has progressed enough by the time Brian get there for him to realize what's really going on (or if it was obvious to Brian that Frostbite wasn't doing it intentionally) he'll correct his misjudgment and target Rage instead.
If, after making the attempt, nothing happens Brian will remark, "Great! Just great! Instead of a jet-fighter I get turned into a commercial air-line! Guess it's time to find out just how much stronger I am".
Maneuvering away from the fringe to give myself room to build up speed, I'll fly into the storm and plow into my target at high-speed with a double fisted blow.
If either attack hits I'll take to the high ground and be prepared to initiate evasive action expecting retaliation.

Krystyna Walsh
Inexplicably, Krystyna's perspective shifts once more. The scene of the battered Steel Squadron members ahead of them instantly shrinks and fades from view as her mind's eye pans then comes back into focus... behind the T-Rex that is chasing them! As disorienting as the experience is for her, Krys quickly regains her bearings well enough to survey her new surroundings. Another presence is there with her, in pursuit behind the T-Rex. The image is that of a large, hulking brute with grayish skin!
"We've got company behind us!" Krys exclaims. "And it's not just the T-Rex!"
The gray skinned monster bounds toward the unsuspecting tyrannosaur and impacts feet first into the back of its head, sending it staggering violently out of control. It's enormous tail whips around wildly, slamming into storefronts and stands leaving nothing but destruction in its wake until the prehistoric beast finally collapses through the front of a shoe store.
The sound of shattering glass and crumbling concrete immediately grabs Brian's attention, and Krystyna can feel her body being swung around in response. She snaps out of her trance and can now see the tyrannosaur lying halfway inside the shoe store shaking off the attack, while the gray skinned giant stands in the debris of a nearby wristwatch repair booth looking mighty pleased with himself.
Krystyna can hear the frustration and concern in Brian's voice as he sighs, "Of course... we've got dinosaurs, why not hulking cavemen? Guess I can nix that idea. I'm gonna set you down over there, hon."
Nodding approvingly at his decision, Krys steps to the floor when her husband maneuvers to set her down gently. "Maybe he's here to help us?" she shrugs incredulously. "After all, he did trounce the T-Rex that was chasing after us..."
She then watches Brian turn to head back toward the summoning area. "Time to see if this bird packs a punch!" he says, soaring off toward the battlefield.
Krystyna, still concerned about the Steel Squadron, tries to remember which one of them could use her help the most. The sight of Black Steel lying there motionless on the marble floor made her fear the worst. "I need to get to him and make sure he's okay!" she thinks out loud. Krys focuses her thoughts on how it felt being invisible, and her form immediately begins to become translucent again. "This way, I can sneak my way up to him undetected!"
Krystyna will stay alert as she ventures quietly through the summoning area, doing her best to make sure no one detects her presence. If it appears that someone has managed to do so, she'll be ready to try and dodge any attacks to the best of her ability.

GARGOYLE:
"OH FER CRYIN OUT LOUD!! GET UP YA BIG SISSY, I AINT GOT ALL DAY!?! GEEZE!! WHAT'S A GUY GOTTA DO TA GET EATEN BY A DINOSAUR AROUND HERE?!?", Gargoyle bellows standing in the rubble of the watch stand. The smirk on his face betrays the pleasure he takes in his handy work.
Allowing strength surge to drop to +10 at this points, Gargoyle will leap over to the groggy looking dino, pry it's jaws open with a shout of, "SAY AHHHHHH!!", and jump in!
As previously posted, Gargy will attempt to lodge himself in the back of the creatures throat in hopes of inducing it to vomit out its victim. If this doesn't work Gargoyle will jump right down the creature's throat with a cry of, "GERONIMO!!!" (try not to land on the guy... I could see him trying to explain THAT ONE to the angel at the gate; "would you believe I was crushed to death by a 15 hundred pound superhero in the belly of a dinosaur?")

It looked at the approaching woman with curiosity at her offer to heal and he nodded to her to accept it. Now the sight of the blue suited gentleman caught it's attention and it spoke up to the man after reassuring Yu that it was ok.

Lily
Lily:
Her canine eyes open wide in surprise at the sight of the giant leonine creature approaching. Before she can react, it leaps at her! Instinctively, she drops back to all fours in an effort to get away, and the ferocious creature sails overhead and into the wall.
She has some sense that this beast is neither a normal human nor a normal lion, though what it may be she knows not. Still, it is obviously far too large and too dangerous for her to remain here.
Turning away from the frightening noise issuing from the new-made cave, Lily flees back out into the open area from whence she came. She avoids the sudden snowstorm and the humans as best she can, and heads toward the nearest vegetation. If she can find a tree amidst all this concrete, steel and glass, she will climb it for a better view and what little safety it provides. With no idea what to make of this strange situation, she craves the comfort of what little familiar elements there may be.

Sorry to hear of your financial and employment struggles, Specs. I hope it will improve for you soon.
