Crucible #52 - "Time Raiders"
History has been changed the Vigilant are scattered throughout time and space…
Roll Call: Blackout and Frostbite in the past.
At the prehistoric watering hole, Blackout and Frostbite find a dimetrodon bearing down on them! Frostbite gestures at the ancient dinosaur and its head is covered in a block of ice. Startled by this, the dimetrodon stops and shakes its head trying to free itself. The pair is able to slip away unscathed.
As they move to a dinosaur free area of the clearing, their attention is drawn skyward once more. There aircraft with reptilian overtones pass overhead. One of the three planes turns and begins to fly towards you…
Roll Call: Backlash, Eldrich, Tesla, and Stormchild in the Present.
On top of the largest alien ship, the present day Vigilant try to enter the vessel. A trio of armored aliens is dispatched to stop them.
Tesla connects with another electrical blast and this time the alien does not get up after being knocked across the deck. Eldrich follows up his earlier attack and once again directly attacks his foes mind. The results are the same and a second alien is down for the count.
The remaining alien fires his wrist blaster at Tesla, but misses the fast moving heroine. Backlash rushes the thug and punches him so hard that he goes flying off the ship and over the edge! He’s quickly lost from sight.
With the enemy dealt with for the moment, the Vigilant move towards the access hatch. As they do, Stormchild calls out that one of the smaller alien ships—- the ones who are causing people down below to disappear-- is closing in.

Roll Call: Flux, Menagerie, Tilt-A-Whirl, Goldstar, and Rose in the future.
The meet and greet in the distant future continues…
Tilt races her way into a gymnasium area. There, the room responds to Tilt and will put her through a super speed workout by forcing her to avoid shifting walls in a rapidly changing maze. No doubt Tilt will have to be summoned back to the others when needed.
A Flux’s command, Goldstar begins to explain her plan for capturing one of the Saurian Time Stations.
“The current galactic situation makes our task a bit easier. It was common knowledge back in your time that the Earth orbited the sun and that the solar system orbited the center of the galaxy. What wasn’t known was that galaxies themselves also orbit around centers of gravity. This galaxy is part of what is called the local cluster of some two dozen galaxies.”
“The current orbital paths of the galaxies in the local cluster have caused the Milky Way galaxy to collide with the Andromeda galaxy. That is why there seems to be many more stars in the sky and is the source of some many novas. Much of both galaxies will be destroyed in the thousands of years this event will take place. Much mass will be added to both the Super Massive Black Holes at the center of each galaxy until the black holes merge into one impossibly large singularity.”
“Because of this, much of the Saurian forces have withdrawn from this galaxy. We’ve target one station that is close to aftermath of multiple supernova’s. There is significant interference and it is not uncommon for it to be out of communication.”
“Neither Rose or myself can get close enough to do anything. They would detect us and simply destroy the station. But inside Edgar we are cloaked from detection. The plan is for Edgar to move right next to the station undetected and dock.”
“Flux can then phase through into the station. His target will be to shut down the defensive system and their sensors. Once that is accomplished, we can open the hatch and go into the station. There are multiple stations that must be disabled to prevent any Saurians on board from destroying the station. Tilt will have to reach each of these locations, plant explosives and then move on the next as fast as she can.”
“The rest of us will have to reach the command center and prevent the Saurians from taking action there. We have to make sure that Lily takes control of the station before any of the other Saurians can. That’s the gist of the plan and we’ll no doubt have to improvise on the fly.”
“While we’ve been talking, Edgar has moved us towards the station in question.”
At Goldstar’s nod, Edgar creates a holographic display of the space outside. You see the colorful remains of the supernova’s and a single large space station hanging in the void. You continue to get closer and closer to the station.
“Any questions? We’ll have direct communications set up between us and Edgar can guide as we begin our assault. We can begin as soon as you are ready.”
The meet and greet in the distant future continues…
With a smile, Edgar will whisper back. “Not to worry, Miss Tilt. Miss Lily can come close to matching your speed, but she won’t beat you unless you allow it.”Tilt wrote:"oh...." Tilt says, letting the word trail off. "As long as you didn't slow me down too much mister Edgar," she says, surprisingly a little slower and without as much effort. She leans in close to Edgar and says in a whisper; "I don't want her beating me in a race." Pointing to Menagerie, Edgar can see the big grin on Tilt's face.
Tilt goes off to explore the full inside of Edgar’s current configuration. Numerous labs are quickly passed by, along with numerous quarters. A vast hydroponics’ bay is explored. It is filled a seemingly endless variety of plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers. Many fruit bearing plants and trees are present too. A large vehicle hanger is here too and many strange looking craft fill it.Tilt wrote:"ohboyohboyohboy!!" Tilt exclaims and she quickly rushes off to see all the new wonders Edgar put in since the last time she had seen him. Because of this, Tilt will miss out on some of the plans involved for going back in time, although surely she will be back way before they are finished. Hopefully Flux can manage to be without her at his side for that long!
Tilt races her way into a gymnasium area. There, the room responds to Tilt and will put her through a super speed workout by forcing her to avoid shifting walls in a rapidly changing maze. No doubt Tilt will have to be summoned back to the others when needed.
Edgar fields this one. “I managed to acquire this image of the individual in question.”Lily wrote:"I'm not sure if I encountered the man you're referring to. Can you provide an image to help us identify him if we get the opportunity?"
“Later this individual appears to have been responsible for calming most of the temporal effects of the White Event before vanishing himself. His identity remains unknown to us.”From Crucible #3 wrote:And finally, back in the center of the Summoning Circle, the energy glow fades in a flash and something is standing there. It is a man who stands about five foot four inches in height with dark black scraggly hair, brown eyes, and a sharp pointed chin and a long thin noise. He is rail thin and wears a blue jumpsuit with lots of pockets.
He looks about in complete confusion. "Can I supersize that?", he innocently inquires.
A Flux’s command, Goldstar begins to explain her plan for capturing one of the Saurian Time Stations.

Here’s the full story on the mystery man who appeared in the early Crucible files. As some of you might recall, he was supposed to be a PC by the name of Timeshift. He was a former player from back in the Q days. We exchanged E-mails and had the character all set up. The player never showed up for reasons unknown to me. In later posts he appeared to seal up much of the time traveling aspects of the energy bubble, but not completely. He vanished into NPC oblivion after that.
Now what?

Tilt-A-Whirl:
With a smile, Edgar will whisper back. “Not to worry, Miss Tilt. Miss Lily can come close to matching your speed, but she won’t beat you unless you allow it.”
Tilt leaves with a big smile, making a point to walk past Menagerie with an "i know something you don't" look on her face.

Tilt is amazed by just how big the place is since last time she zipped around in it. Lots of things to see, which she takes in at incredible speed. Then she hits the strange shifting room. After a few quick attempts to navigate the entire area, she still finds herself in a maze.
"hhrrrrmmmmppphhhh!!" Tilt exclaims, biting her lower lip. "imfasterthanyoumisterroom!" she proclaims proudly and goes about to prove just that. She will use all of her speed to race around and beat the maze before it can change on her. There is no way it will win!

Menagerie:
Lily eyes the picture provided by Edgar. "Hmm... He does look familiar. Thank you, Edgar; I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for him."
Goldstar launches into a description of her plan, and Lily attempts to follow along, focussing on her own part in the plan. It seems everyone has a role to play, so they will all have to succeed if this is to work.
"Can you show us a layout of the inside of the station and our best paths? It would be good to have some idea what to expect before we head in there. Also, I haven't really gotten a good look at many of these lizard-men. Since I'll probably need to mimic one, can you provide me with a good model to work from?"
Noting the display provided by Edgar, Lily is surprised that they are nearing the station already and swallows hard. They will need to get ready quick!
Lily cocks her head to one side in a questioning look at Tilt, but doesn't ask. Clearly, the kid is enjoying herself and there's no reason to mess that up for her.Tilt-A-Whirl wrote:Tilt leaves with a big smile, making a point to walk past Menagerie with an "i know something you don't" look on her face.

Tilt....with explosives.....running.....mmmm don't like it.
Flux does not react visibly to his reservations. Confidence is needed now to maintain morale. But he does make a note to himself to look over the devices and speak with Edgar about them.
Knowing Edgar, they would probably be fail-safe/foolproof designs and remotely detonated. But it won't hurt to check....

Bruce....Superhero of San Diego
As they move to a dinosaur free area of the clearing, their attention is drawn skyward once more. There aircraft with reptilian overtones pass overhead. One of the three planes turns and begins to fly towards you…
‘Wonder how they are tracking us.” as he watches the three come over head and one bank off coming in their direction. “Quick! Back into the trees!!” he says as he makes to run for the trees a sudden thought comes to him. What if they are tracking him the cold would be a beacon of light on a heat sensitive scale. He will concentrate on dropping his icy exterior.
they don't give up easy...
Blackout:
"They seem pretty determined," Blackout says as he dives back into the cover provided by the jungle. Blackout prepares to drop his darkness around himself should the plane appear to have spotted them.As they move to a dinosaur free area of the clearing, their attention is drawn skyward once more. not impressed..
Tesla:
Tesla connects with another electrical blast and this time the alien does not get up after being knocked across the deck. Eldrich follows up his earlier attack and once again directly attacks his foes mind. The results are the same and a second alien is down for the count.
The remaining alien fires his wrist blaster at Tesla, but misses the fast moving heroine. Backlash rushes the thug and punches him so hard that he goes flying off the ship and over the edge! He’s quickly lost from sight.
"Kind of a let down," Tesla says in response to how quickly they dispatched the trio of aliens. Seeing no other immediate threat, Tesla starts making her way to the hatch.
With the enemy dealt with for the moment, the Vigilant move towards the access hatch. As they do, Stormchild calls out that one of the smaller alien ships—- the ones who are causing people down below to disappear-- is closing in.
Tesla turns to see where the ship is. If it looks like they can all make it to the hatch, they she will rush towards it. If even one of them doesn't look like they can, Tesla will fire an electrical blast at the ship to see what effect that has.

Moving in he quickly decks his opponent much harder then he thought sending the alien over and down to certain death.
"Ill say one thing, If with their technology they sure can't take a punch." he boasts.
He soon sees the incoming ship and makes for the hatch, If the Hatch begins to close he will hold it open for any whom maybe behind him not wanting to leave them alone outside.

Roll Call: Blackout and Frostbite in the past.
Saurian aircraft has tracked our pair of time-displaced heroes. Fearing that they are using temperature to track them, Frostbite reverts back to his human form. Blackout joins him in the tropical jungle. Using the foliage as a cover, the pair warily eye the as the plane flies closer. As they watch, the plane flies past there position and is soon gone from sight. The noise made by the aircraft fades as well.
It seems that you’ve escaped detection from the aircraft. No noises from overhead are heard, but the sounds of the jungle are still there. Rustling is heard in the undergrowth and the ground shakes from far off footfalls. However you don’t seem to be in any danger at the moment.
Now what?
Roll Call: Backlash, Eldrich, Tesla, and Stormchild in the Present.
The trio of armored aliens has been defeated, but now one of the aircraft that is making people vanish down below is flying towards the largest ship! Tesla reaches the hatch first. She can feel the lift starting to lower itself back into the ship under her feet. At her urging, Backlash, Eldrich, and Alec rush to join her. The hatch slides closed over the hands and the lift lowers you into the ship.
You have a small break as the lift moves you along to catch your breath. Each can’t help but wonder what’s going to be awaiting you on the other end of the ride.
Finally, the sides of the lift shaft open up into a larger room. All that remains of the lift is the platform you’re standing on. It continues to descend and you realize that you’re not alone! A full dozen armored Saurians are there awaiting your arrival! Their wrist blasters are pointed in your direction!

Roll Call: Flux, Menagerie, Tilt-A-Whirl, Goldstar, and Rose in the future.
In the distant future, Edgar has docked with one of the Saurian time stations while Goldstar lays out her plan to capture it. Elsewhere Tilt is off exploring and has come across a automated training area.
“I trust you enjoyed your exercise, Madame, but it is time to rejoin the others.”
Goldstar and Edgar field questions from Flux and Lily.
“This is our position here,” Goldstar indicates to the small sphere next to the station. “Each color is the path each of you should take. Flux is here in blue. We’ve moved as close to his objective as we possibly could.”
Based on the display, Flux will have to phase through Edgar’s hull and into the space station. There he has to proceed a distance of 40 yards to reach his target.
“Once there, you plant this on the target.” Goldstar holds up something about the size of a hockey puck. “It’s a remote controlled explosive. Its arming sequence is three tiered. First it has to be attached to the pre-programmed type of metal. In our instance, the metal the Saurians use in the construction of their vessels. Next it is heat sensitive. It won’t explode as long as it’s in contact with something as warm as a human. Lastly, Edgar will activate the detonation remotely once the first two parameters are satisfied. There is no danger of these devices going off any other way. They are perfectly safe to handle.”
“Lily is here in green. You’re target is the Saurian commander. If you can mimic him, them we’ll be in good shape as none of the others can override his system commands. My advice would be to first mimic Flux’s powers to move into the station, locate the commander and then change form to his. If you can accomplish that, we can give you the necessary instructions to complete the take over the station.”
Lily’s path is about 60 yards long and passes up two decks. The location in question is the private quarters of the station’s commander.
“Tilt’s path is here in gold. Once Flux has brought the security system down, she can then make her dash about the station planting the remote explosives. When she’s completed her task, then only the stations command center will remain functioning. If Lily can mimic it the Saurian commander and reach the control center first then the battle is essentially over with.”
Tilt’s path is the longest and nearly covers the entire station. Edgar will walk her through the course and tell her where to plant her explosives.
“You’ll each need one of these.” Goldstar hands each of you a set of what appears to be a combination headset and microphone. A clear display can be moved to cover your left eye. “We’ll be able to communicate through these. We’ll be able to talk back and forth and there is a visual display if necessary.”
“Are we ready to begin?”

Tilt pushes herself and finally is able to not only catch up, but also run faster than the maze can change. Just as quick as it all began, the walls that made up the maze are retracted and Tilt finds a copy of Edgar near by."hhrrrrmmmmppphhhh!!" Tilt exclaims, biting her lower lip. Storming the Ship
Eldrich Arcane
Eldrich wonders what the next move will be by these beings. More soldiers, larger weapons, deliberate destruction of their own vessel? The answer appears as the sides of the shaft drop away to expose the interior of the ship-and a dozen armored foes at the ready!
"Disperse yourselves!" Eldrich yells out, and Steps to the outside of their opponents perimeter. Having gotten behind some of them he then proceeds to cast the Sunglare Spell at the first creature to target him.
The Ward has expired, I have one usage left. Do I invoke it now or wait?
Eldrich decides to wait. If they cannot prevail here then escape will be necessary and the Ward will be needed. Better to fight hard now.
Eldrich readies for combat...

Flux
Flux smiles as Edgar explains the explosives fail-safes. It's exactly what he expected from Edgar.
"These HUD's will also be able to give us the navigation guidance to move through the station and find our targets, correct?"
"Since my objective will be accomplished first, I 'll be free to help anybody else that needs it. Call for back-up if you hit trouble."
"Miss Pa- er Menagerie, I suggest you take a deep breath before phasing through anything. You only get the air you can take with you while phased.. Also reduce in size, less noticeable that way."

I Don't Think We're in Kansas Anymore...
Menagerie:
Lily's request is fulfilled as a holographic display of the station pops up. "Thank you, Edgar. That's great!" Lily carefully examines the map, focussing in particular on her own path. The better she can visualize it, the easier it will be to do her part.
"So my job is to use Flux's powers to reach the commander's quarters. There I ambush the commander, then mimic him and move to the control room. Once there, I take out the staff in the control room, and then you'll tell me how to take over the station systems. Is that right?"
Lily accepts the communications gear from Goldstar and tries it on. "Testing, testing," she says, just confirming that the others can hear her.
"Should I take this off while imitating the saurian commander? It seems like it might give me away..." A thought occurs to her and Lily changes into the form of a house cat, just to see what happens to the communicator.

I'm not better than you. I am you.
left alone finally...
Blackout:
"We need to figure out if there is some way to get back," Blackout suggests. "Also, I'm concerned about Goldstar as she has yet to re-appear. I don't want to accept the worst, but we might have to."
"I think we've finally eluded them," Blackout says quietly to Frostbite. Listening intently, Blackout tries to pick through the various noises and is pretty certain no one or thing is coming for them.It seems that you’ve escaped detection from the aircraft. No noises from overhead are heard, but the sounds of the jungle are still there. Rustling is heard in the undergrowth and the ground shakes from far off footfalls. However you don’t seem to be in any danger at the moment.
"We need to figure out if there is some way to get back," Blackout suggests. "Also, I'm concerned about Goldstar as she has yet to re-appear. I don't want to accept the worst, but we might have to."
out of the frying pan...
Tesla:
The trio of armored aliens has been defeated, but now one of the aircraft that is making people vanish down below is flying towards the largest ship! Tesla reaches the hatch first. She can feel the lift starting to lower itself back into the ship under her feet. At her urging, Backlash, Eldrich, and Alec rush to join her. The hatch slides closed over the hands and the lift lowers you into the ship.
Frantically urging everyone on, Tesla is relieved when everyone makes it into the lift. Their situation however doesn't seem to improve much.
"Disperse yourselves!" Eldrich yells out, and Steps to the outside of their opponents perimeter. Having gotten behind some of them he then proceeds to cast the Sunglare Spell at the first creature to target him.
Tesla hasn't been impressed by these Saurians or their combat abilities so far, but with this many, one could get lucky. Her force field still active, Tesla moves out and away from the lift, looking around to see more of the room they are in. If the Saurians decide to fight rather than merely glare menacingly, she will open up on one with an electrical blast.

Tilt-A-Whirl:
Tilt pushes herself and finally is able to not only catch up, but also run faster than the maze can change. Just as quick as it all began, the walls that made up the maze are retracted and Tilt finds a copy of Edgar near by.
“I trust you enjoyed your exercise, Madame, but it is time to rejoin the others.”
Beeming with pride, Tilt exclaims, "ibeatyourroommisteredgar!" Strutting past, she adds, "youneedtomakeitfasterformenexttime"
Tilt will join the others, unsure of exactly what's going on. It is explained to her and she seems to follow along easily enough.
"i like gold," she says in a slightly-slower comment. Tilt looks at her path and it seems easy. Too easy, but they want her to do it, so she will. She can't let Flux down.
Tilt does her best to get the headset on around, over or under her goggles. Finally she manages it. Giving a big thumbs up after completing that difficult task, she merely says "ready!"

Roll Call: Flux, Menagerie, Tilt-A-Whirl, Goldstar, and Rose in the future.
In the distant future, the attack on the Saurian Time Station is about to begin…
With the preparations complete, the mission begins. Flux shrinks to his smallest size, takes a gulp of air, and phases through Edgar’s hull and into the Saurian Station. Following his HUD’s instructions, he quickly reaches the designated target. The bomb is planted, the Flux phases away once more.
While this is going, Lily is wished good luck by Rose and then changes into the form of Flux. She repeats his trick by first shrinking down, although it’s not to a size as small as Flux could reach. Next she takes a big breath and then phases into the hull following Flux. Lily’s movements are slower as this is a new experience to her. Following the HUD, she moves closer to the Saurian commander’s quarters.
Once Flux is safely away, Edgar detonates the bomb. The station shudders under the attack and an alarm sounds. Following Goldstar’s instructions, Flux moves to the command area. The control center is at the top of the station. It’s a wide circular area whose ceiling is transparent, allowing a spectacular view into the space.
A full dozen Saurians are here, rushing about in alarm. They are larger than humans, and combine human and reptilian features. They have the same basic body structure, a head, a trunk, two arms and two legs, but their faces are reptilian with an oversized mouth, large ears, and a row of spikes goes up the middle of their skull.
Flux remains inconspicuous and unspotted for the moment.
While that is going on, Lily has reached the Commander’s Quarters. She peeks into his room and finds the large Saurian is at a communications terminal speaking to someone in urgent tones. His back is to Lily as she phases in.
With the sensors knocked out, Edgar opens up the hatch into the station. Tilt rushes out with her payload of bombs to plant. Edgar verbally directs her along her mission, increasing his speed to talking to match Tilts.
The first two targets are reached without seeing anyone and the bombs are planted. However, as he races down the next corridor, two Saurians are walking towards her, blocking the passageway!
Goldstar and Rose follow Tilt into the station. Both women change their physical structure to allow them to pass through the walls. Rose changes into cosmic energy, while Goldstar becomes a beam of light.
GM Notes:
Flux is at the Control Center with a dozen Saurians who have yet to spot him. Lily has reached the Commander’s quarters unnoticed, while Tilt has a roadblock in front of her.
Now what?
In the distant future, the attack on the Saurian Time Station is about to begin…
“For the most part,” Goldstar states. “Once Flux knocks out their sensors, Rose and I will be able to act. We’ll clear the control room. All you have to do is mimic the commander. You can fight him if you want, or just make you’re way to the control room. In fact, once Flux and Tilt have performed their tasks, just come to the control room. Most of the action will take place there.”Lily wrote:"So my job is to use Flux's powers to reach the commander's quarters. There I ambush the commander, then mimic him and move to the control room. “It won’t change shape with you, madam,” Edgar explains. “So keep this in mind as you change forms during your mission.”Lily accepts the communications gear from Goldstar and tries it on. "Testing, testing," she says, just confirming that the others can hear her.

Frostbite
"I think we've finally eluded them," Blackout says quietly to Frostbite. Listening intently, Blackout tries to pick through the various noises and is pretty certain no one or thing is coming for them.
“It looks that way, for now…. But why do I have a feeling we jumped out of the frying pan and into the fryer.”
"We need to figure out if there is some way to get back," Blackout suggests. "Also, I'm concerned about Goldstar as she has yet to re-appear. I don't want to accept the worst, but we might have to.”
“If there is a way back.” he says grimly. “It will be in that complex. If they are tracking us I may have to use my ice powers less, It does kind of give us away, especially in a tropical jungle.”
Frosty will follow Blackout and ice up at any confrontation.

Backlash
Coming down the lift Backlash fumbles with his gloves nervously getting ready for whatever may come. As the lift stops and a larger area gives way he can’t help but notice the dozen Saurians gazing at them with weapons at the ready
Having no other option but to fight Backlash rushes the Saurians in the middle of the group and will proceed to pound the snot out of them with his fists. (Density Increase is still active from the above fight)

Menagerie:
Lily gives her daughter a quick kiss, then shifts into her team leader's form. She takes a deep breath as Flux had both suggested and demonstrated, then begins to make her way through the alien station. Part of her is ready to panic as she begins to float through a solid object, but she manages to hold it together. In truth, the experience is not unpleasant, once she learns to accept it mentally.
It is not long before she locates the quarters of the alien commander. Peeking through the wall at him/her, she has to force down a sense of revulsion at the hideous creature. She suspects the creature may be too dangerous to leave alone, but interrupting his communications could also cause unforseen problems, depending on who he is speaking with.

Tilt-A-Whirl:

The first two targets are reached without seeing anyone and the bombs are planted. However, as he races down the next corridor, two Saurians are walking towards her, blocking the passageway!
Tilt giggles to herself hearing Edgar's accelerated speech. His direction is flawless as she quickly reaches the first two targets. It seems luck isn't with her as she enters the next corridor, seeing two reptile guys walking her way!
"notimetoplaywithyou!" Tilt exclaims and keeps running right at them. Not sure she can fit between them, she will use her speed and attempt to run along the wall to one side, even going to the ceiling if she needs the extra room to clear them.
If for some reason she can't do this, Tilt will come to an abrupt stop right in front of one of the reptile guys , smile sweetly and hit him with her topsy-turvy power to see if he will move out of her way. She would prefer just to go around or over them though. Time is short and she's worried about Flux!

Raiders of the Last Station
Flux
Flux eases into the control hub of the station, unseen as yet, watching the milling reptiles, and evaluating his chances in a dust up with twelve large angry saurians.
Could take out one fast with a speed growth punch, leaves me wide open for retaliation from the other eleven. Could sneak punch one from small size, move to the next, run the line...
They're not armed per se but tough enough on their own to give me troubles. What I really need is a way to be both tough AND strong but that's ...click...ummm what's that feeling like a..a setting?
Flux feels something shift in his head like a power ready to be used, a feeling he first got a few weeks ( or a few billion years ) ago.
Another one? Feels different then the others. Not sure what will happen if I go with it. But if it answers..
Flux will hold his position and wait upon events. He considers himself ideally placed for a surprise attack/distraction and is ready to try the new power(s).

Roll Call: Blackout and Frostbite in the past.
Taking cover in the tropical jungle, Blackout and Frostbite seem to have eluded those searching for them. Catching their breath, the pair discusses their options, but make no decisions. Going back to the complex you arrived at is suggested, but you quickly realize that with all the running around you’ve done you’re not sure which direction it lies in.
Now what?
Roll Call: Backlash, Eldrich, Tesla, and Stormchild in the Present.
In what we call the present, the modern day Vigilant have entered the large Saurian ship that appears to be closing the temporal bubble. Inside they find more of the armored aliens.
Tesla acts the fastest and blasts one of the enemy with electricity, sending her victim backwards. Eldrich winks out of existence and reappears on the other side of the chamber, behind the armored aliens.
Backlash settles on a more direct approach. He rushes forwards and collides with three of the aliens taking them to the deck.
The aliens that are able retaliate with their wrist blasters. Several shots buzz around Tesla, but only one finds its mark. Her electrical force field completely blocks out the attack.
Backlash isn’t as fortunate. Two blasters hit him and he feels groggy. Neither attack could move ‘Lash in his increased density state. The aliens he was grappling with pull him down to the deck. Backlash is lost from sight as the aliens dog pile on him.
One of the aliens realizes that Eldrich moved behind them. Eldrich catches him with a Sunglare spell and the area before the alien is suddenly, and briefly illuminated.

That covers the beginning phase of combat.

Roll Call: Flux, Menagerie, Tilt-A-Whirl, Goldstar, and Rose in the future.
In the distant future, the raid against the Saurian Time Station continues. Flux has reached the Command Center, but is content to watch for the moment. Lily in the form of Flux is watching the Saurian Commander. His back is to her and he’s having an urgent conversation with someone on an unseen video screen.
Elsewhere in the sprawling space station, Tilt is rushing about planting her collection of bombs. In a corridor, she finds a pair of the reptiles walking towards her. Realizing that they are too large to squeeze past, Tilt simply runs up the wall to the ceiling and passes easily over their heads. It all happens so fast that the two Saurians don’t even realize what just transpired.
Tilt is off again, planting more bombs. Any other Saurians she finds she can easily avoid. The reptiles are just too slow!
Back at the Command Center something new catches Flux’s attention. Rose and Goldstar burst into the chamber in their energy forms. This gets the aliens attention immediately. Rose makes a simple wiping gesture and cosmic energy bathes the chamber. All the Saurians drop to the floor without a struggle, but the energy passes harmlessly through both Goldstar and Flux.
A moment later, a series of explosions rip through the station as Tilt’s bombs go off. The speedster arrives at the Command Center before the explosions cease.
“Well done all,” Goldstar compliments. “We did it! Now all we need is Lily…”
Looking around you realize that Lily is not here yet. Nervously, Rose will speak into her comlink. “Mom? Are you all right? Where are you? We need you in the Command Center.”
Goldstar holds up a small electronic device in her hand. She shows it to Flux and Tilt. “This is an interface that we want to plant into the Saurian computer system, but we need Lily in the Commander’s form to pull it off. Once in place, Edgar will be able to take control of the Station.”
Back in the commander’s quarters, the video conversation suddenly ends. The Commander seems upset and barks orders that no one on the other side can hear. A series of small explosions rips through the station and the deck shudders from them.
Rose tries to reach Lily a moment later.

Now what?
Try it and find out!
Who wants Pancakes!!
Backlash
Rushing forward the adrenaline of the coming fight began pumping through his veins. Before him he saw a lightning arc send a alien to its knees. Narrowing his eyes he steeled himself for the coming impact slamming into to three aliens and catching them off balance sending them to the ground.
Snickering from his handy work, he is caught of guard as two aliens that he lost sight of fire their blasters hint him. A snicker turned to a groan as his eyes went hazy and his balance off. Large hand gripped his frame before he could defend himself, the deck soon came up to greet his knees then face as he let out a groan of pain as several Aliens jumped on his back.
With a feral growl, he began to fight against the combined weight trying desperately to get to his knees and hands, if able to do so he will then try to get his feet underneath him while remaining crouched on all fours. If the aliens weight is still on his back, attempting to drop him to the ground he will bend his knees and leap with all his strength straight up, hopefully catching some of the aliens between his Intense density and the hull of the ship!!

Take your best shot!
Frostbite
Unsure of totally where to go and the immediate threat seemingly disappeared a sudden thought comes to Frostbite, “Let’s just see which way we have to go.” he states as he ices up, generating and ice slide he will move up into the air scouting his surroundings. Once he has his bearings he will drop back down to and thaw out and point Blackout in the direction, hopefully, of the compound they just escaped from.

I Don't Think We're in Kansas Anymore...
Menagerie:
Seeing that the commander is occupied for the moment, Lily decides to give her lungs a break. Remaining at minimum size, she rises up so that she's just standing on the floor. Menagerie regains solidity just long enough to fill her lungs with fresh air.
Then, becoming intangible once again, Lily decends until just her tiny head is above the floor. At this level, she circles the commander to the right and left, trying to get a good look at him from as many angles as possible without being spotted.
Just as the commander finishes his conversation, Lily turns and heads toward the command center. Once well away, she responds to Rose's call. "Coming, Rose. Just wanted to get a good look at the ugly lizard."
As she draws nearer her destination, Lily solidifies in hallway, growing to full size and taking on the commander's form.

Tilt-A-Whirl:
Tilt is off again, planting more bombs. Any other Saurians she finds she can easily avoid. The reptiles are just too slow!
Tilt giggles as she races up and across the ceiling, easily avoiding the slow reptile boys. "theyresosilly!" she exclaims to no one but herself, forgetting that her headset probably told everyone what she just said.
A moment later, a series of explosions rip through the station as Tilt’s bombs go off. The speedster arrives at the Command Center before the explosions cease.
Racing up as the explosions pound the poor station, Tilt stops right in front of the others with a cheesy grin and a big thumb's up indicating she was completely successful.
Goldstar shows them a small device, but the explaination of it totally escapes Tilt. She just paces in a small circle kicking at imaginary dust bunnies waiting for that slowpoke Menagerie to get done.

"wanna race?"

a showdown..
Tesla:
Tesla acts the fastest and blasts one of the enemy with electricity, sending her victim backwards. Eldrich winks out of existence and reappears on the other side of the chamber, behind the armored aliens.
Since diplomacy wasn't going to be the choice of the day, Tesla decides to act first and act decisively. The first alien feels her attack and is blasted back.
The aliens that are able retaliate with their wrist blasters. Several shots buzz around Tesla, but only one finds its mark. Her electrical force field completely blocks out the attack.
It's hard for Tesla not to laugh at these ineffectual attacks. She almost forgets that this is a serious situation. Seeing what happens to Backlash sobers her up a bit to this though.
Backlash isn’t as fortunate. Two blasters hit him and he feels groggy. Neither attack could move ‘Lash in his increased density state. The aliens he was grappling with pull him down to the deck. Backlash is lost from sight as the aliens dog pile on him.
Turning her attention to the pile, Tesla targets one of the aliens at the top of the heap so that she can hopefully not come close to hitting Backlash.

we're not lost... right?
Blackout:
"I think it's..." Blackout pauses, trying to get his bearings, "it's this way... isn't it?" Suddenly he's not as sure of where they are as he thought he was.Taking cover in the tropical jungle, Blackout and Frostbite seem to have eluded those searching for them. Catching their breath, the pair discusses their options, but make no decisions. Going back to the complex you arrived at is suggested, but you quickly realize that with all the running around you’ve done you’re not sure which direction it lies in.
"Just keep an eye out for anyone still looking for us," Blackout warns as Frostbite 'slides' up above the tree cover. Hopefully he will be able to see the compound and then they can start heading back that way, being alert and wary of anyone or anything looking for them.Unsure of totally where to go and the immediate threat seemingly disappeared a sudden thought comes to Frostbite, “Let’s just see which way we have to go.” he states as he ices up, generating and ice slide he will move up into the air scouting his surroundings.
