Roll Call: Flux
After, securing the sample of Sally's DNA, Flux slips back out of the apartment and takes flight. Along the way he makes contact with Edgar.
"The rest of the Vigilant are out on assignments", Edgar will report. "The group of Blackout, Menagerie, & Serena are currently in the dock district on Shelter Island. The rest of the team is in and around Downtown San Diego. Frostbite and Goldstar are within Horton's Plaza and I believe that Eldrich is moving to their location."
"The various members of the Young Champions are still here. I can alert them if you wish."
GM Notes:
The group out on Shelter Island would be the furthest away from the Caliente research laboratory. Flux himself is the closest.
Roll Call: Tilt-A-Whirl
The van Tilt had stolen from the bank robbers has crashed when she tried to swerve to avoid a mysterious figure in the street. However, the tumbling van just passes through the figure as if he really wasn't there!
Tilt rushes up to the figure, but it continues to fade away until nothing remains. Puzzled by this, and after seeing the van crash into several parked cars, Tilt rushes back to the bank.
There, several of the robbers are still in the street waving their assault rifles around in confusion. One is trying to break into a nearby car with the butt of his rifle. The orderly precision that they demonstrated before is now gone. They don't see the fast approaching heroine just yet.

Roll Call: Backlash & Tesla
The battle against the rampaging Monster continues! Tesla was just tagged by a hunk of concrete and sent flying backwards across the sky. The electrical heroine comes soaring back to the battlefield.
As she closes in, she can see that the Monster has just lifted a small pick-up truck over his head. Laughing maniacally, the villain flings it at Tesla! Firing her electrical blast, Tess hits the truck, deflecting it from its intended path. The heavily damaged truck crashes to the street below.
Backlash bounds out of the bookstore and finds the Monster a bit further away than he expected. Picking up the light pole the monster ripped out earlier, Backlash lifts it over his head and then throws it at the monster!
Not realizing his own, now greatly enhanced, strength, Backlash overthrows his target. The light pole sails harmlessly over the Monster and crashes into the buildings on the other side of the street.

The drug smugglers at the Shelter Island docks have been defeated. Menagerie has gone down below with the Guiding Light to destroy the drugs themselves and collect the drug money.
Back up on the main deck, Blackout has just spoken to one of the Dock Security Guards. He in turn contacts the authorities and asks that none of the evidence be disturbed.
"That's good thinking!", the guard calls out. "I'm sure no one will mind these criminals getting roughed up a bit!"
Meanwhile down below decks…
"These men must answer to a higher authority!", the Guiding Light objects. He'll grab Menagerie by the shoulders and start to shake her. "The laws of man are nothing when compared to laws of God! This foul poison MUST be destroyed! If you will not do God's work then I will! Their ill-gotten gains must be returned to Reverend Moses, for that is what I was charged with! If you defy me, you're defying the will of God! I will not let any unbelievers stand between me and my mission!"
Lily can't help but notice the frenzied look in the Guiding Light's eyes. Blackout slips on to the scene as this is going on.

"A couple of us went into the holds to make sure no one else was lurking about. We would hate for one of us to get hurt because we were foolish about thinking the boat was secure."

Lily-Tesla is just about to atomize the drugs and paraphernalia when she pauses. Slapping her forehead, she says to herself as much as to Guiding Light, "I am such a moron. This is all evidence; we can't destroy it. We'd better leave it for the authorities; they'll need it for the trial to put these jerks in jail." She releases the Tesla form and returns to Menagerie.
"I'm sure he could, but that could get us all in a lot of trouble," Menagerie says. "The money is evidence, same as the drugs and equipment they were using. Taking it would qualify as tampering with evidence, which is a serious crime. We should leave it for the authorities as well."
"These men must answer to a higher authority!", the Guiding Light objects. He'll grab Menagerie by the shoulders and start to shake her. "The laws of man are nothing when compared to laws of God! Roll Call: Eldrich, Frostbite, & Goldstar
Back out at the Castle, Eldrich has risen and sought out Edgar.
With that Eldrich steps away from the castle...
Inside Horton's Plaza the current situation has taken yet another bizarre twist. The Black Magus has used the magical energy of the shadowy rift to undo what had been done to the Black Paladin and Lady Bale many weeks earlier. They have been restored to their former malevolent ways and in the process Lady Bale has been freed of the Black Paladin's total control.
The evil Knight requests that the Black Magus give up his newly gained power so that the Paladin can control it. Lady Bale is angry at the way the Black Paladin dominated her for all those months in the aftermath of the Great Supervillain contest.
The Black Paladin turns his focus away from the Black Magus and directs his full attention to Lady Bale. His dark eyes look her over. With the earlier destruction of the Lesser Emerald Eye, his eyes no longer glow with green energy. (Editor's Note: A tale to be told in a future issue of X-Factor.)
"Stay thy hand, my consort", the dark knight says in a tender tone. "It was my original intention to heal your wounds, restore your youth and beauty from the shadow demons that had devoured it. I had not planned on binding you to my will. It was a side effect of the Lesser Eye of Azog. Indeed, its effects on me where not pleasant either. I also was not truly myself."
Stowing his mace, the Dark Knight moves forward and towers over the shorter woman. "It would greatly please me for you to remain at my side, to aid me in my endeavors as a companion and an equal and as my lover."
"Hey, I'm available!", Devilspawn calls out with a bright smile. "You can enslave me any day of the week tall, dark, and malevolent!"
The Black Paladin shoots the demoness an irritated glance, as does Lady Bale.
"Silence parasite!", the Black Paladin calls out. "You will speak only when spoken to!"
The evil knight throws his enchanted mace, striking the startled Devilspawn right in the torso. She's roughly hurtled backwards and hits the floor hard. Her limp body slides for several dozen feet before coming to a stop. As if by magic, the enchanted mace reappears in the Black Paladin's hand.
Lady Gale's angry features soften as she turns back to the dark knight. "I think-- If you truly mean what you say-- I think that would please me as well, milord. An alliance of equals does offer much opportunities."
"My word is my bond", the Black Paladin states as he gentle kisses Lady Bale's hand. "But betray me at your own peril. My anger knows few bounds."
The Black Magus coughs to get the dark couples attention. "As I was saying earlier, we are all much alike. An alliance between all of us would go far to accomplish all of our goals. I lack your brawn and battle skills, while my magical might is unparallel. Your charming consort seems to dabble in both of these fields. It seems to me that we are natural allies. An unholy trinity of magical might and evil. Do not let this opportunity to slip away."
The Black Paladin seems to be considering while Lady Bale looks back and forth between the two men, uncertainty playing on her face.
In the background, Frostbite finally manages to break free of the black bounds that were holding him. His strength is not that of Goldstar and it took him longer to snap them.
Speaking of Goldstar, her Radiation Blast shatters the sheath of black energy that had encircled her. A bit disorientated, the Solar Heroine pauses to regain her bearings.
A moment later, Eldrich Steps into Horton's Plaza, drawn by the dark magical energy of the hazy rift.
All attention is focused back upon the unholy three on the raised platform. From seemingly out of nowhere, a blast of purplish fire engulfs the Black Magus. He screams in agony from the effects of the flames and is physically driven away from the rift. His hand is pulled out of the hazy blackish energy and its effects upon the dark mage cease.
Both Black Paladin and Lady Bale drawn their weapons and spin towards the source of the fire. Emerging from the shadows is a woman wearing a multicolored patchwork skin tight outfit of various purples. A dark blue hooded cloak covers her head and shoulders.
What your sight is drawn to right off is that the woman's face is obscured by a purplish fire and that her eyes flame bright red. She wields a staff with a purplish gem at its top. The fire that struck the Black Magus seems to have come from the staff.
"I don't know what's going on here", the woman in purple says as she steps forward, "but know you all that those who would do evil burn from the flames of the Purple Phlox!"
Now what?

"Good morning sir. I trust you are now feeling refreshed? The type of energy you designated as Magic is one that eludes most detection. There are several unknown forms of energy that I have detected within the Downtown area. That area remains somewhat dimensionally and temporally unstable. Anomalies abound.""Greetings High One. Might I inquire as to whither or not you have registered a strong source of magic in the great city during the night? I detected it last evening but was unable to report it until now. It was rather strong even by the standards of my home realm."
"Very good, sir. Good hunting!""I will be going towards it now. If you wish to track me as I do so I will not take it amiss."

"Put Gladiator in the picture Edgar, and tell him I'm headed out there right now. Check the news broadcasts for info and see if you can get hold of any Protecters too. And Starguard! This is going to be bad Edgar. I'd rather not put the kids in that mess but....Gladiator will make that call."
Flux shrinks down and tries to speed up his flight hoping to get there before the worst can happen. And can't help wondering to himself if he'd be so quick to risk the lives of those kids if his own brother's life was not in danger too.

Still saddened by the departure of the strange ghost man, Tilt quickly forgets her sorrow at seeing a bunch of armed men running around confused from outside the bank. She wants to sit down and watch their comedic antics, but one of the frustrated men is about to break into someone's car!
There, several of the robbers are still in the street waving their assault rifles around in confusion. One is trying to break into a nearby car with the butt of his rifle. The orderly precision that they demonstrated before is now gone. They don't see the fast approaching heroine just yet.
"nowayisthatverynice!" Tilt exclaims as she rushes up to the man. Stopping right behind him, she will tap him on the shoulder, or tug on his shirt if she's too short, to get his attention. Once he turns, she'll smile sweetly and hit him with her topsy-turvy power (drain + flash). "maybeyouwilllearntoplaynicenow!" she'll tell the bad man.

For what seems like a life time the tense moments pass though a fire erupts about the Magus causing him to scream in pain. All the hero can do is gaze at the rift dumbfounded as a being steps forth cloaked and drapped in purple fire.
Taking aim at the Black Paladin’s form inorder to entangle the wayward knight in an Icy Tomb!
Straining against the bonds that are holding him Frosty releases that this is gonna be harder then he thought!! After some heavy breathing and straining himself he stops for a moment and takes a deep breath then exerts himself in the attempt to break the bonds. Finally they yield to his strength. “ Ugh and that’s what I get for not eating all my green veggies.”In the background, Frostbite finally manages to break free of the black bounds that were holding him. Seeing his comrade trying to hold her own with the monster Backlash will take a similar approach as before! “Tesla keep hittin him with all ya got!!“ As he charges forward to meet the Monster with his fists! (still keeping his Density increase up)

As he Steps his way across the city Eldrich stops periodically to sample the magic energies he encounters ( if any ) but it is the visual cues that draw him back to Horton Plaza as well as magic energy.
Arriving above the rift Eldrich sees the many mages and users of the Arcane just below him including the self-named Purple Phlox just as she forces the Black Magus away from the magic rift.
Him again! and that devil woman too. Who these others are is not important. Goldstar and Frostbite were attacked by them that is sufficient.
Eldrich will watch for a magical attack and ready a Dispel to ward it off....

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Foundry...
Menagerie:
"It's okay, Guiding Light!" she says, hearing Blackout enter. "I agree with you. But as the Good Book says, all things in their own time. God is not in a hurry. The civil authorities can handle the case for now, and God can deal with these miscreants in His own time. It is not for us to determine the time or manner of God's judgement."

If it looks like GL is going to do something drastic, like attack her or blow away the drugs, Menagerie will return to her own form, pump up her strength and quickness (DEX & SPD), and attempt to deck him.
Lily turns to Serena. "You are of course free to do as you like. I'm sure Blackout and I can manage alone at the Foundry. Great, we're dealing with a fanatic, thinks Blackout. Wonder if Reverend Moses breeds them that way? "Everything okay down here?" Blackout says as he heads inside, hoping to divert the Guiding Light's attention to give Menagerie a few precious seconds. "The authorities are on their way as I mentioned. They'll have evidence with all this to make those thugs above pay dearly.""These men must answer to a higher authority!", the Guiding Light objects. He'll grab Menagerie by the shoulders and start to shake her. "The laws of man are nothing when compared to laws of God! This foul poison MUST be destroyed! If you will not do God's work then I will! Their ill-gotten gains must be returned to Reverend Moses, for that is what I was charged with! If you defy me, you're defying the will of God! I will not let any unbelievers stand between me and my mission!"

As she closes in, she can see that the Monster has just lifted a small pick-up truck over his head. Laughing maniacally, the villain flings it at Tesla! Firing her electrical blast, Tess hits the truck, deflecting it from its intended path. The heavily damaged truck crashes to the street below.

A few moments after that, Edgar calls back. "Gladiator has been informed of the situation. He says that he and some of his students are on the way to assist."
And a little bit after that, Edgar checks in again. "I have made contact with Starguard. He states the he and a companion will be there as soon as humanly possible."
Edgar reports in shortly after that. "I've managed to tap into the Protector's communication channel and have reached Quasar. He is on the on the line right now and you can speak directly to him."
As this is going on, Flux reaches the Caliente Research facility. It seems tranquil enough below, but strangely quite. No one is around on the grounds.

Tilt rushes back to the location of the bank robbers. Several of them are out in the street acting confused over the recent turn of events. One is attempting to acquire new transportation by breaking into a car by shattering a window with the butt of his rifle.
Tilt streaks in and comes to a stop behind the man. She taps him on the shoulder and then smiles sweetly as he turns to face her. Then she hits him with her topsy-turvy power. The effect is more than the bank robber can take and he simply collapses to the ground dazed and disorientated.
This action draws the attention of the other robbers, four of them in all standing outside the bank. They bring their automatic weapons to bear on Tilt and prepare to fire...

The struggle against the Monster continues!
The gothic villain just hurtled a small pick up at Tesla that was blasted away, while Backlash threw a light post with equally poor results. Tesla aims and fires again at the Monster. Her aim is true once more and the Monster is flung back over twenty feet and crashes into the front of a building, just narrowly missing the front display window of a children's clothing store. He's partially embedded in the brick wall and a bit dazed.
Backlash comes bounding in and strikes the villain with his own enhanced strength. The punch hits the Monster solidly, propelling him through the wall and into the building beyond.
Backlash gives chase and finds the monster prone and covered with pretty dresses for young girls. The villain has finally been knocked out!

While Serena guards the defeated drug smugglers, the real action is going on down below decks. Menagerie and the Guiding Light originally went below decks to destroy the smugglers goods. At the last moment, Lily remembered that such a thing would be tampering with evidence. The Guiding Light does not take this very well. He grabs Menagerie by the shoulders and starts to shake the startled woman.
While Menagerie struggles to reason with the man, Blackout comes down the gangway and tries to divert his attention. Using the distraction to her advantage, Menagerie shifts into the form of Goldstar and goes into Neutron Star mode. Menagerie's strength becomes so great that the Guiding Light can no longer move her.
The heroes words do nothing to calm the Guiding Light down. "Unbelievers! Enemies of God! You will not stop me in my holy quest!"
The Guiding Light fires a blast of light energy at Menagerie-Goldstar with devastating effects. The blast blows right through her sparkling forcefield and hurtles Lily back violently. She hits the bulkhead hard with a loud clang. After that she slumps to the floor unconscious. Her form slows changes back to that of Menagerie.
Blackout throws his rod and catches the Guiding Light in the side of the head. The man is thrown hard to his side and lands on the floor with a thud. He is dazed from the attack, but is already beginning to shake off its effects.
GM Notes:
Those were a pair of amazingly high back to back damage rolls! Half the dice in each roll were 6's!

Roll Call: Eldrich, Frostbite, Goldstar, and the Purple Phlox
The situation inside Horton's Plaza has taken yet another twist! Those beings sensitive to magic have been drawn to the summoning platform where a strange rift has appeared. First it was the Black Magus and the diabolical Devilspawn. The dark magician claimed the rift was a source of magical might.
Frostbite and Goldstar arrived next, having come across the Paladin and Lady Virtuous a bit earlier. The Black Magus managed to stop all four with bands of black magical energy. Using the power of the rift, the Magus discovered that Paladin and Virtuous has been altered by ancient magic. With great delight the dark magician broke the spell while enhanced by the rift. With the spell now broken, it was revealed that the pair was in reality the Black Paladin and Lady Bale!
The Black Magus suggested an alliance between the three, while the Black Paladin demanded that the Magus surrender his newfound power source. While this was going on, Lady Bale took offense at having been Black Paladin's slave for all these months. The dark knight smoothed things over and Lady Bale rejoined him.
Next they started to discuss an alliance with the Black Magus when another mage arrived on the scene and blasted the dark magician with her Crystal Headed Staff. It was the Purple Phlox and the fire from her staff would burn only those who would do evil.
Right after this, both Frostbite and Goldstar broke free of the magic holding them while Eldrich stepped in almost unnoticed. Now the fun begins!
The Black Paladin regards the Purple Phlox. "Ah, yes. The enchanting Purple Phlox. And she brought her magical artifact with her as well."
"That was most considerate of her", Lady Bale adds.
"The Crystal Headed Staff is not for the likes of you", the Phlox forcefully retorts.
"But my dear, I insist!"
The Black Paladin throws his enchanted mace and it strikes the Phlox full in the stomach! The purple clad heroine is violently thrown back and lands in an unmoving heap. The staff falls free of her grasp and slowly rolls away from her.
Lady Bale starts to advance on the staff when she notices that both Goldstar and Frostbite are free once more.
"Beware milord, those do-gooders are loose once more."
Lady Bale holds her sword in her right hand and gestures at Frostbite with her left. A beam of black energy streaks from her hand and just narrowly missies Frostbite.
Goldstar fires a Photon Blast at Lady Bale in retaliation and hits. The light-based attack hurts Lady Bale and she seems a bit woozy.
Frostbite gets in on the act and covers the Black Paladin with ice.

Guiding Light seems to go off the deep end very quickly when Menagerie suggests a different approach. Fortunately, taking on Goldstar's form and using her Neutron Star power succeeds in stopping the shaking for a moment.
Unfortunately, faster than she can react, the religious zealot blasts her with hit power. Menagerie is flung into the wall and sinks to the floor like a ragged doll, insensate.
Any further occurances in the room are beyond her awareness.

Blackout of course, doesn't wait for an answer as Menagerie drops after getting hit by the Guiding Light's attack. He hurls his rod with the intention to put the Guiding Light out of the game fast, and nearly does.The heroes words do nothing to calm the Guiding Light down. "Unbelievers! Enemies of God! You will not stop me in my holy quest!"

Blackout catches the rebounding rod as he closes the distance to the Guiding Light. Once there, he drops himself into his trademark globe of darkness and attacks the Guiding Light in hand-to-hand. "Let's see if your light guides you now.." Blackout says as the darkness closes around the pair.Blackout throws his rod and catches the Guiding Light in the side of the head. If the Monster is down and out, she suspects any remaining military will quickly wrap up the area, but hopefully with some thanks considering her and Backlash did all the hard work.

"Quasar, It's Flux. I assume you've been brought up to speed on the Terror Unlimited situation. I'm on the ground on site right now and will initiate scouting. So far it's way too quite for my peace of mind. No sign of damage or any injured personel. I'm going in soft. I'll update as I see more. How soon can you get anyone here?"
Flux mantains his small size and continues to fly at reduced ( combat) speed while staying low to the ground.
Got to figure on traps, hostages, and some type of quick escape route for them. Maybe a transport craft? Much as I might wish it, these people are not stupid. Eyes open and head in the game, sarge.
"Roger that Edgar.""Gladiator has been informed of the situation. He says that he and some of his students are on the way to assist."
And a little bit after that, Edgar checks in again. "I have made contact with Starguard. He states the he and a companion will be there as soon as humanly possible."
A companion? Hope they understand what they're in for.
"Affirmative Edgar."
Edgar reports in shortly after that. "I've managed to tap into the Protector's communication channel and have reached Quasar. He is on the on the line right now and you can speak directly to him."
"Edgar, you're a wonder! Give yourself a raise."
As this is going on, Flux reaches the Caliente Research facility. It seems tranquil enough below, but strangely quite. No one is around on the grounds.

Eldrich notes the Black blast directed at Frostbite and Goldstar's effect on the woman who threw it.
A Black practicioner without doubt! Goldstar's light appears to be more than the witch can withstand. Her erstwhile partner is far more dangerous looking to my eye. Best to begin there...
Eldrich invokes his Amulet of Shielding and stands ready for the black armored enemy to react to the ice covering.
If only I could recall more of my magics! Perhaps the Purple one can assist me with my problem-assuming we are successful here.

Roll Call: Flux
Reaching the grounds of the Caliente Research Lab, Flux looks around. Nothing seems overly suspicious. There’s a few cars in the parking lot, but none looks out of place. The only thing that is suspicious is the lack of people. No security guards at any of the checkpoints. Nothing that resembles an escape vehicle is in the area.
Suddenly, something does attract Flux’s attention. There is a momentarily flash of light and it draws his gaze. Standing besides the building is the familiar form of Starguard in his star field armor. Beside him is another very familiar person. It’s a woman in a red and black costume wielding what appears to be an energy sword: the Scarlet Sabre!
Roll Call: Tilt-A-Whirl
Having dispatched one of the bank robbers, Tilt becomes the target for the others. She dashes off once more as the bullets fly. The speedster is out of sight a second later.
A few heartbeats later, Tilt rushes in from behind. She taps the shoulder of yet another robber and induces intense vertigo into him. Unable to remain on his feet, the thug collapses to the ground.
Again the attack draws the remaining thugs attention and they cut loose. Tilt runs off once more and comes back from an unexpected direction. The strategy works repeatedly until all the thugs are down and disorientated.
As the last thug goes down, Tilts communicator goes off. It’s Edgar and he brings you up to date on the situation with Flux out at the Caliente Labs. Edgar can send you directions to reach the lab if you wish to go and assist Flux.
Roll Call: Backlash & Tesla
The Monster has finally fallen! Backlash drags the creepy villain out of the young girls clothing store by his leg and drops him off near the watching army unit. A cheer goes up from the soldiers as they see that the Monster has been defeated. The unit commander comes forth along with several soldiers.
“That was fantastic!” the man says enthusiastically. “And you saved us a lot of hard work. Let’s get him wrapped up boys! Get the Stronghold chopper on the phone. Tell them we’ve got a pick up!”
Turning back to Backlash and Tesla he’ll add, “Thanks for everything, but you two better make yourselves scarce. This area is restricted, but not at the moment if you get my drift.”
Taking the hint, Tesla and Backlash continue on. They haven’t gone too far until they are contacted by Edgar who relays the current situation with Flux out at the Caliente Labs. Directions can be provided if necessary.

Out on Shelter Island, the Guiding Light has turned on the heroes! He blasted Lily back and then was nearly taken down by Blackout. The dazed man drops to one knee as Blackout closes in. As he approaches, Blackout causes darkness to envelope the immediate area.
“Where? Where are you?” the Guiding Light cries out in confusion. A light blast is generated but it comes nowhere close to Blackout.
Blackout answers with a kick to the chest of the Guiding Light. The attack sends the man sprawling backwards and he hits the hull hard. Blackout doesn’t give him a chance to recover and a second attack puts out the Guiding Light.
Lily starts to come around and is confused to find herself in darkness.
The groups communicators go off and Edgar is there relaying the message about Flux’s situation at the Caliente Research Laboratory.

The Black Paladin struggles to free himself from the ice covering him courtesy of Frostbite. Lady Bale gives her lover a hand and blasts the ice away with another bolt from her black gloves. However, the action leaves her open for an attack from Goldstar, but she just misses with her Photon Blast.
While that is going on, Frostbite creates a miniature indoor blizzard to protect the Purple Phlox.
Now free from the ice holding him, Black Paladin flings his mace at Goldstar!

Once more, the Paladin’s aim is true and Goldstar is struck solidly in the torso. The Stellar Heroine is hurtled violently backwards and is unconscious before hitting the floor.
High above the scene, Eldrich continues to observe. Unexpectedly, the groups communicator’s go off! Looking up, Black Paladin and Lady Bale spot Eldrich watching them from above!

Blackout keeps quiet, making none of his normal witty comments. Noticing Lily start to stir, he turns and walks towards her, dropping the darkness, letting it fade away as he emerges in front of her.Blackout answers with a kick to the chest of the Guiding Light. Blackout will step back from Lily and quickly bring Edgar up to speed, "We're just going to need a little bit of time to make sure the authorities wrap this situation up, then we can head on over." Unless Lily thinks differently, he'll grab the Guiding Light and haul him upstairs and see if the authorities have yet to arrive.The groups communicators go off and Edgar is there relaying the message about Flux’s situation at the Caliente Research Laboratory.

Yeah really, Didn’t think it would take us that long…Must be getting old.” her next comment catches his ear as he let’s out a smile and laugh, “ I don’t think any of them bring out his eyes though.”
Tesla smiles at that, a small laugh escaping her lips, "Yeah, I think you're right about that."

Frosty will then give a full razor shard attack on the Dark Paladin (Armor Peircing, RKA?)

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Foundry...

Then the light returns and Lily sees Blackout kneeling down beside her.
Menagerie starts to rise. "Ow! Still a bit tender; feels like I might have broken a rib or torn a muscle," she says, rubbing at her side. "My head's still pretty foggy, too." With Blackout's help, she makes it to her feet, though she's definitely not 100%.

Lily considers for a moment. "Let's get GL here up on deck, then you and Serena can go on ahead. Since I'm not quite back to normal, I'll stay here until everything's taken care of. These men prove to be very silly. They don't make good criminals at all. Tilt can't help but feel a bit sad for them in between her giggles as one after another slumps or falls over after her topsy-turvy attack hits. "youshouldgetyourmoneybackfromcriminalschool!" she pipes up to an unconscious or groaning audience.

Too far to prevent the so-called Paladin's strike against Goldstar, Eldrich Steps closer and incants the spell of Sunglare into his opponent's eyes ( Flash)
If only I could remember more... There is a spell for striking a foe down called.....called....
And suddenly it is there in his mind, the Giant's Cudgel spell, words and gestures leaping to the forefront of his memory as though never forgotten.
Eldrich never knew if it was desperate need, proximity to so much magic, the location in Horton's Plaza, or a combination of all of these factors that cracked through to his storehouse of spells. Eldrich only knew at that moment that he had a powerful spell-and an enemy to target it with....
"Evil thing! You and your plots are undone here! Defeat comes for you now. You sought magic? Well and here it is! May you derive much pleasure from its discovery!"

Eldrich never knew if it was desperate need, proximity to so much magic, the location in Horton's Plaza, or a combination of all of these factors that cracked through to his storehouse of spells. Eldrich only knew at that moment that he had a powerful spell-and an enemy to target it with....

Serena:
The Knight is startled when the others return. Lily appears to have been injured and the Guiding Light is unconscious!
“What has transpired here?”
Assuming that she’s filled in, Serena will be visibly shocked.
“Are you saying that nice man attacked you because you wouldn’t let him destroy the drugs? Why would you stop him? Should they not be destroyed before they can cause harm to innocents? I don’t understand?”
Seeing that Lily has been injured Serena will offer to heal her wounds. “Let me take care of that. I’ll have it healed momentarily.” If allowed, Serena will heal the damage done.
“Tell you what, my friends. I’ll remain here with the Guiding Light until the authorities can arrive. I think I can relate to him better. Perhaps I can reason with him. Is that agreeable to you both?”

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Foundry...

When asked, Menagerie does indeed explain to Serena what happened - at least the part she was conscious for.
"In our legal system, as set out by the laws of our government, evidence is an important part in determining the guilt or innocence of those accused of crimes. As such, to protect such evidence so that it can be used in trials, there are laws that make it a crime to destroy evidence that can be used in a trial. Instead, the law requires that evidence be turned over to the authorities, so that it can used in court.
"Once the trial has been concluded, the government takes care of destroying any dangerous evidence, such as these drugs, using methods that are deemed safe."
If Blackout agrees with leaving Serena here with Guilding Light, then Menagerie will offer him a ride as they continue on to Caliente. It seems The Foundry will have to wait a bit longer...

Lily thinks for a moment. "That's fine, although I would caution you to be careful with him. He's very powerful and his ability to fly might make it easy for him to escape. Blackout listens as Menagerie explains what happened below deck, feeling she sumed it up pretty well. Still, Serena's next words give him cause for concern.
Blackout pauses for effect before continuing, "I believe his is fanatical in his actions, and therefore will not allow any room for discussion or another point of view in his self-proclaimed duties. That makes him dangerously close to crossing the line into villiany."

Blackout can't help but wonder if Serena isn't smitten by the Guiding Light, or at least sympathetic to his proclaimed cause. Lily seems a bit concerned, but Blackout thinks he needs to drive the point home a little further, "Yes, you must be careful with him. I witnessed him openly attack Menagerie. If it wasn't for my timely intervention, who knows what he might have done to her."“Tell you what, my friends. I’ll remain here with the Guiding Light until the authorities can arrive. As long as Serena seems to understand and put consideration into what both he and Lily told her, he will have to trust in the woman's ability to do the right thing, and go with Menagerie. If it doesn't look like Serena will be able to make the right decision, Blackout will say he will wait for the authorities and then catch up as fast as he can with his swing line.If Blackout agrees with leaving Serena here with Guilding Light, then Menagerie will offer him a ride as they continue on to Caliente. It seems The Foundry will have to wait a bit longer...
