The Vigilant are separated into small groups once more and are spread out amongst San Diego…
Roll Call: Blackout, Menagerie, and Serena
Near the docks on Shelter Island, the heroes have encountered another unknown super attacking heavily armed men on a cargo ship. The man introduces himself as the Guiding Light and declares that he is doing God's own work. He claims that the men are drug smugglers and the heroes decide to help him.
Once Lily is close enough, her passengers disembark. Serena jumps feet first towards the ships hull. Her magical boots hold her secure to the hull and she begins to walk up to the main deck.
Blackout throws his rod around the railing and then runs away from the ship. The line is pulled taunt and Blackout leaps into the air. His momentum carries him in an arc overhead bringing him back to the ships deck.
Blackout's sudden appearance startles the crewmen on deck and they stop firing momentarily. Twisting to his left, Blackout alters his trajectory and slams feet first into a pair of armed thugs. The pair go down in a heap and the martial artist tumbles to his feet, ready for battle.
Right after that Serena reaches the railing and hops over it. The Knight is now on deck with her sword drawn.
Overhead, the Guiding Light continues his assault. Another energy blast is fired and another crewman goes down. The man does appear to be still breathing and is just unconscious.
The thugs fire back with their weapons. Blackout tumbles away from the bullets, while Serena deflects them with her sword. The Guiding Light's energy force field spares him from harm once more.
The thugs moral begins to break and they start to run for it. Some drop their weapons while others hold on to them and begin to run towards the gangway leading to the docks.
GM Notes:
Going to chase them or let them go? Menagerie will have had time to change forms by now into what she desires.

Roll Call: Frostbite and Goldstar
On the roof of Horton's Plaza, ground zero of the disaster that struck two days ago, Frostbite and Goldstar have met the Paladin and Lady Virtuous. The pair had just arrived from Los Angeles to lend aid. Lady Virtuous sensed the presence of powerful magic and they came to Horton's Plaza to investigate.
"We have not encountered anyone one else with wintry powers such as yours", the Paladin states. "But should I you'll be informed immediately."
"A magical ritual", Lady Virtuous muses. "Perhaps that is what I am sensing. Shall we investigate?"
With Frostbite leading the way, the group moves across the rooftop to the area where the ritual took place. It was in an open courtyard inside the larger plaza. The sun shines down on the now deserted area some three stories below.
Goldstar carries Frostbite down into the plaza while the Paladin and Lady Virtuous use their own methods. The armored man and his lady simply vanish only to reappear down below.
Reaching the courtyard floor, the heroes will note something strange occurring on the raised platform where Devilspawn attempted her ritual two days ago. There is a small black haze floating on the platform. As you watch, it seems to be growing larger!
"This is the source of magic", Lady Virtuous states as she cautiously examines the black haze. "The dimensional barriers are weak here. Something is forcing its way into our dimension! Something dark and evil…"

While searching for Armstrong, the pair have found the Monster instead! Seeing the heroes on the scene, the Army forces hold their actions for the moment.
Backlash dares the Monster to attack him and he does. The Monster rushes the rookie hero and smashes him with a powerful punch. Backlash feels the effect of the blow and is tossed back nearly twenty feet in the process! But he can feel himself growing stronger from the attack as well!
Tesla closes in and fires another electrical blast at the Monster. This time she hits and the gothic villain is sent flying backwards over thirty feet! The Monster lands in a pile but is quickly on his feet bellowing for more! He appears no worse for the wear.

Elsewhere in San Diego, Tilt has come across a van filled with heavily armed men. She got close enough to look inside, but was chased away by machine gun fire!
Tilt decides to just follow the van and does so from a discrete distance. A few blocks later, the van suddenly swerves in the street and hops the curb. The reason for the armor-reinforced crash bar on the front of the van becomes apparent as it smashes through the front doors off one of the local banks!

“Thanks, I need that! My turn Sleeze ball.” As the monster soon gets up from the pile of debris.
Staying at full density Backlash leaps into the air hoping that the monster’s attention is on Tesla’s attacks. He will attempt a move through on the Monster Landing feet first on its chest. (If it is apparent that Monster is gauging Backlash he will merely run at the monster to intercept him and begin pummeling him.)

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Foundry...

It seems both Blackout and Serena have their own ways of reaching the deck under their own power. Thus, Lily agrees and takes them to the side of the ship.
Once her companions have debarked, Lily changes into her Major Star form and begins to rise into the air, staying well clear of Guiding Light's bolts. As she passes the gunwale, she notes that some of the men on the deck are making a break for the dock. Menagerie races to cut them off before they can reach the end of the dock.
*And that's really the question*, Lily thinks. She's known many good Christians, but also known those who let their beliefs warp their thinking. Hopefully, this man isn't among the latter, as otherwise the harm he does may exceed the good.Blackout wrote:"This guy can't be all that bad then," Blackout says, "if God is backing him."

"Tsk, tsk," Blackout says, shaking his head at the unconscious crewmen. Bounding away, Blackout easily avoids the clumsy gunfire. Noticing none of the others are hit, he keeps his attention on the thugs. They however, have had enough, and begin to bolt. "Oh, no you don't," Blackout exclaims, hurling his rod at one of the thugs fleeing.The thugs fire back with their weapons. Blackout tumbles away from the bullets, while Serena deflects them with her sword. The Guiding Light's energy force field spares him from harm once more.

Tilt watches with surprise as those nasty men drive their A-Team wannabe van right into the side of a building! "wellthatsnotveryniceatall!" she will exclaim.
Watching the men get out, she sneaks up and listens to see if she can hear the van's motor running. They didn't seem to be the kind to take the time to turn it off since they seem to be in a hurry. If the van is still running, Tilt will rush up and climb into it, throw it into reverse and back out of the bank! Then she will drive it back to the army guys and drop it off with them while gleefully saying, "hereyougoguysmakesuretherightpeoplegetthisback!" She hopes the studios will maybe be grateful for getting their van back so they can go back to filming. Then she will run back to the bank to watch the fun!
If the van isn't running, she'll have to come up with a plan b.

Goldstar will look for something that she can use to plug the leak-- like a vending machine or a bench or something.

The drug runners attempt to flee, but the heroes will have none of that. Menagerie in the form of Major Star circles around and cuts them off. The Guiding Light hits another with a blast of light energy and the man goes down.
Blackout throws his rod at one of the fleeing felons and it tangles the man's feet, causing him to fall hard to the deck. Serena chases them down, running faster than they can. Using the flat of her sword, she whacks one of the men in the back and he goes down in a pile.
The few men remaining conscious quickly surrender and discard any weapons they are carrying. The fighting is all over with.
"God be praised!", the Guiding Light cries out. "My thanks to you all, fellow crusaders! We have done good here this day. Now, let us destroy their shipment of foul chemicals before any more innocents can be harmed. Any of their ill-gotten gains should be donated to charity so that some measure of good can come from their greed. Lastly, these vermin should turned over the authorities so that they can be suitably punished. Are you with me, my new friends?"

The Paladin advances on the black haze and seems to be studying it.
"This seems… seems familiar somehow… But I can't quite place from where. Its evil and malevolence sickens me…" That last statement somehow seemed to sound more like a question than a fact.
While that is going on, Goldstar attempts to stuff a vending machine into the rift to seal it.
"That will not work, my golden friend", Lady Virtuous advises. "The rift is not a physical, tangible thing. Regardless it must be closed before chaos is unleashed."
"Now why would you want to do that? I just love to cause chaos!"
The four heroes spin to discover a pair of new arrivals. The speaker is the diabolical Devilspawn in her usual skimpy red costume. Standing with her is another familiar face. It is man in black robes with neatly trimmed black hair and beard.
"Foolish mortals", the black hair man intones as he weaves a spell. Upon its completion, black bands of magical energy wrap themselves around all four heroes! The bands hold each tightly and most fall to the floor.
"The rift is a source of power", the Black Magus. "Power that I shall use to thrust this land under my dominance!"
"Not while one breath remains in my body, you black hearted villain!" the Paladin counters.
"Oh save your breath, you goody two shoes!" Turning back to the Black Magus, Devilspawn gushes, "Isn't he just delightful? So dark and malevolent. My kind of guy! So perhaps my spell wasn't wasted like I first thought. It just took a little bit of time for it to work."
"Magic is never wasted, fair one", the Black Magus states. "Now I shall take the power that rightfully belongs to me!"
The Black Magus moves forward towards the rift and unlimited magical power…

Roll Call: Backlash & Tesla
The struggle against the Monster continues!
The Monster reaches out and rips a streetlight pole free from the sidewalk. Using it like a giant flyswatter, the attempts to hit Tesla. The electrical heroine just flies back from the attack and fires another bolt of lightning.
Tesla's attack hits again and the Monster is thrown back into a storefront. The front glass shatters and the Monster disappears from sight. The streetlight pole was dropped in the process.
Backlash bounds into the store through the broken front window. The place is a bookstore and the Monster is laying in a damaged magazine rack. Newspapers and magazines are everywhere. Backlash is upon the Monster before he can defend himself and lands a solid punch!
The Monster is hurtled back once more, shattering book cases with his passage. Paperbacks go flying everywhere. In the back of the Store, the Monster rises from a pile of books and glares at Backlash malevolently. The gothic horror unballs his fists and Backlash can note that the Monster's massive hands end in razor sharp claws!
Laughing manically, the Monster rushes back towards Backlash! Bloodlust is clear in his horrible face!

Roll Call: Tilt-A-Whirl
Tilt has chased the men in the van to one of the local banks. The men drive their armor-reinforced van through the front doors of the deserted bank and screech to a stop inside. The robbers file out and carry explosives towards the bank vault door.
While that is going on, Tilt rushes in and hops in the drivers seat of the still running van! Before the robbers can realize what is going on, the heroine throws the van into reverse and speeds out of the bank!
The guards open fire with their machine guns, but the bullets just ricochet off the armor reinforced van! Throwing the van into drive, Tilt peals out and speeds down the street. Behind her, more of the men fire their weapons at the fleeing van with no effect.
Tilt drives along at what must seem as a slow speed to her. She comes to an intersection and tries to recall which direction lead back to the Army guard post. Was it right or left?
Arbitrarily picking one, Tilt speeds off once more. Suddenly, her eyes go wide when she sees a man-sized figure in the middle of the street right before her! The figure is wearing what looks like some kind of sealed environmental suit that completely obscures its features.
The figure turns in shock as it sees the speeding van barreling towards it.
Now what?
The struggle against the Monster continues!

Tesla's attack hits again and the Monster is thrown back into a storefront. The front glass shatters and the Monster disappears from sight. The streetlight pole was dropped in the process.
Backlash bounds into the store through the broken front window. The place is a bookstore and the Monster is laying in a damaged magazine rack. Newspapers and magazines are everywhere. Backlash is upon the Monster before he can defend himself and lands a solid punch!
The Monster is hurtled back once more, shattering book cases with his passage. Paperbacks go flying everywhere. In the back of the Store, the Monster rises from a pile of books and glares at Backlash malevolently. The gothic horror unballs his fists and Backlash can note that the Monster's massive hands end in razor sharp claws!
Laughing manically, the Monster rushes back towards Backlash! Bloodlust is clear in his horrible face!

Roll Call: Tilt-A-Whirl
Tilt has chased the men in the van to one of the local banks. The men drive their armor-reinforced van through the front doors of the deserted bank and screech to a stop inside. The robbers file out and carry explosives towards the bank vault door.
While that is going on, Tilt rushes in and hops in the drivers seat of the still running van! Before the robbers can realize what is going on, the heroine throws the van into reverse and speeds out of the bank!
The guards open fire with their machine guns, but the bullets just ricochet off the armor reinforced van! Throwing the van into drive, Tilt peals out and speeds down the street. Behind her, more of the men fire their weapons at the fleeing van with no effect.
Tilt drives along at what must seem as a slow speed to her. She comes to an intersection and tries to recall which direction lead back to the Army guard post. Was it right or left?
Arbitrarily picking one, Tilt speeds off once more. Suddenly, her eyes go wide when she sees a man-sized figure in the middle of the street right before her! The figure is wearing what looks like some kind of sealed environmental suit that completely obscures its features.
The figure turns in shock as it sees the speeding van barreling towards it.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Foundry...
Menagerie:
The smugglers are surrounded quickly and subdued. Some few are smart enough to surrender before it becomes necessary to hurt them. Menagerie smiles under the Major's helmet.
Landing and returning to the form of Menagerie, Lily listens to the words of the man calling himself Guiding Light. "That is a good plan, sir. Perhaps it would be best if my friends here, Serena and Blackout, keep and eye on these criminals while you and I go below to destroy the drugs? Tesla's electrical power should make short work of the garbage they're hauling."
Menagerie looks to Blackout and Serena, as well as Guiding Light, to see if her suggestion is acceptable to all.
"Blackout? Can you take charge of contacting the authorities and having them send someone to arrest these men?"

"Foolish mortals", the black hair man intones as he weaves a spell. Upon its completion, black bands of magical energy wrap themselves around all four heroes! The bands hold each tightly and most fall to the floor.
"The rift is a source of power", the Black Magus. "Power that I shall use to thrust this land under my dominance!"
"Not while one breath remains in my body, you black hearted villain!" the Paladin counters.
Frosty begins to struggle beneath the confines of the Magical bonds that have formed around him. As he does so the Black Magus begins to walk forward to the Magical portal. “ That goes Double for me!!”
Realizing that he may not be able to break the magical bonds his first priority is to try and buy them some time. If he is able he will try to gesture to where the Black Magus is walking concentrating on making an Ice coating that will cause the Magus to fall to the ground as he steps.
“Magician you say? Eldrich, a comrade of mine, is a a magician of some sort. Though I am not quite sure just how powerful he is….” he let’s his thoughts trail out. “Ill try to get incontact with him.” As he reaches for his radio to get a hold of Edrich by means of Edgar.( if He can)"I wish it was that simple", Lady Virtuous responds. "The skill to seal this rift is beyond my meager abilities. We'll need a stronger magician than I."
“Only Chaos you’ll be causing is trying to get into that outfit of yours toots!”"Now why would you want to do that? I just love to cause chaos!"
The four heroes spin to discover a pair of new arrivals. The speaker is the diabolical Devilspawn in her usual skimpy red costume. Standing with her is another familiar face. It is man in black robes with neatly trimmed black hair and beard.

“What’s the matter?! Did you fall down and go boom?” He taunts the Monster as he just glares back with hatred in his eyes. He unballs his fist and his razor sharp claws become apparent. “This may hurt a bit,” he says to himself as the Monster charges him with a manic laugh with a thirst of blood within his eyes.
Backlash will stand his ground as the Monster charges him, As the Monster comes closer Backlash will gauge the distance between them. When it becomes time backlash will fall to his back and kick out with his feet hoping the catch the monster in the chest in doing so weakening his knees so the Monster’s momentum flows through him causing him to somersault and kick out hopefully sending the monster back out the window that he broke to the street. (Acrobatics?) If successful he will yell to Tesla, “Incoming!”

Now, let us destroy their shipment of foul chemicals before any more innocents can be harmed. Any of their ill-gotten gains should be donated to charity so that some measure of good can come from their greed. Lastly, these vermin should turned over the authorities so that they can be suitably punished. Are you with me, my new friends?"
Serena is a bit disappointed that she can't continue to speak to this man called the Guiding Light. His demeanor seems the most similar to her own in this strange land. Almost a kindred spirit. To Devilspawn she adds, "And as for you, you're not nice at all! Put some clothes on before you fall out of that thing!"
The next thing Goldie knows, bands of black energy have surrounded her body and are holding her tight.
"Hey! This is not stellar!"
Shifting into Neutron Star mode, Goldstar will attempt to shatter the bands holding her.
"Well phooey!", is Goldstar's response to that. "Why did it have to magic? Why not advanced physics? That I can understand!"While that is going on, Goldstar attempts to stuff a vending machine into the rift to seal it.
"That will not work, my golden friend", Lady Virtuous advises. "The rift is not a physical, tangible thing. Regardless it must be closed before chaos is unleashed."

Regardless of the answer, Blackout will contanct the authorities and explain the situation, identifying himself as a member of the Vigilant. He will then aid Serena with guard duty.
Blackout chuckles as he grabs the rebounding rod. It seems the rest of the thugs have had enough of fighting and they are quickly surrounded.Blackout throws his rod at one of the fleeing felons and it tangles the man's feet, causing him to fall hard to the deck.
"Yeah we definitely can keep tabs on them," Blackout replies, "does the lockdown extend out here? "I like my men aggressive, but that's overdoing it a bit... whoops," Tesla watches as her electrical blast sends the Monster hurtling through a storefront window. She really didn't want to cause more property damage, but there's not much to be done about it now.
She watches Backlash bound into the store after the Monster. She would swear he was acting like a little kid with a new toy. She can almost picture her heroic companion grinning from ear to ear.

At the Docks on Shelter Island, the heroes have assisted the Guiding Light in defeated a band of drug runners.
In the captains office, the Guiding Light finds a suitcase filled with stacks of hundred dollar bills. "I'm sure that Reverend Moses will find plenty of ways to make good use of this dirty money."
Back on deck, the gunfire has not gone unnoticed. Dock security forces arrive and Blackout explains the situation to them.
"That's amazing! ", the man says. "I'll phone it in to the police. Leave everything as it is and touch nothing as its evidence. I'm sure the Coast Guard and DEA will be all over this one. You people are heroes!"

Roll Call: Frostbite & Goldstar
Inside the infamous summoning area of Horton's Plaza, something strange and magical is transpiring. A rift has appeared in the area where Devilspawn attempted to summon the Nether Lord two days ago. It's a black haze that gives off the feelings of evil and malevolence.
Lady Virtuous states that a more powerful magician than her will be required to seal the rift. Frostbite thinks of Eldrich but doesn't have time to try and contact the Vigilant's resident mage as Devilspawn and the Black Magus arrive on the scene!
The Black Magus casts a spell and bands of black magical energy bind all four of the heroes. The mage announces that the rift is a source of unlimited magical energy that he will use to increase his power! Devilspawn is delighted by this.
Frostbite strains against the bands holding him and manages to gesture towards where the Black Magus is walking. A thin coating of ice covers the steps up to the elevated platform, but the evil mage just simply walks around it.
Goldstar takes a more direct approach. Since she was already in Neutron Star form so that she could carry Frostbite there is no need to make a change. Goldstar strains and shatters the bands with surprising ease! Even she's shocked at just how easy that easy that was.
"Hey!", Devilspawn protests. "No one said that you could do that!"
Escaping so easy surprises Goldstar momentary, allowing Devilspawn to act. The half-demoness casts her own spell and suddenly a sheath of black energy surrounds Goldstar. The solar powered heroine cannot be seen thorough the black energy as it crushes in on her.
"And that is that", Devilspawn says brushing her hands off. "Cute, but not too bright that one. I'd love to spend an afternoon playing with her!"
Back up on the platform, the Black Magus has reached the black haze and dramatically sticks his arm into it! The dark magician takes on an even more sinister looking appearance as the haze moves to surround him.
"Yes!", the mage gleefully cries out. "This is power undreamt of!"
The Black Magus looks out and his gaze becomes fixed upon the Paladin and Lady Virtuous. He stares at the pair as if with new eyes.
"How interesting… Your current state is not your natural one! You were both changed somehow… By ancient magic. Yes, I can undo what has been done to you both. Free you from your curse!"
The Black Magus gestures and both the Paladin and Lady Virtuous rise up into the air. Both struggle inside the black bands that hold them. A fearful looks on the lovely face of Lady Virtuous as she is helplessly drawn towards the Black Magus. The Paladin's features are concealed behind his helm. Both hover a few inches above the floor.
"Hey, what are you doing that for", Devilspawn starts to object. "I thought we'd save them for a snack later on. I just love to play with goody-goodies! They are so delicious to corrupt."
"Silence, demoness!", the Black Magus demands. "You make a poor ally as you are too interested in playing games instead of gathering power. But these two, these two know what it is like. They shall make excellent allies once I am finished with them."
"Spare the female and I shall do as you ask", the Paladin offers.
"How gallant of you", the Black Magus responds. "But ultimately foolish and unnecessary. I want both of you as you were, not as you are."
Tendrils of black energy leap out from the hand of the Black Magus and move to surround the helpless Paladin and Lady Virtuous. The pair scream as the malevolent energy caresses them, changes them.
"Let what once was be again!", the Black Magus cries out. "Let the spell be broken!"
All at once, the black tendrils retract away from the pair and they both drop to the floor. The change in the pair is dramatic and terrifying. The Paladin's armor as now all black and does not reflect light, rather it seems to absorb it.
"I am whole again!", the former Paladin roars in delight. "The Black Paladin does walk the earth once more! Let lesser men tremble in fright!"
Turning to the Black Magus, the Black Paladin takes his mace in hand.
"I am in your debt, my friend, but do not think that makes us allies. I will now take the power you've tapped into. But I am not without honor. I will let you depart unscathed. Decide quickly, for my patience does have its limits."
"Ooohhh", Devilspawn coos happily to Frostbite. "Unexpected, but I like it! I'm just putty in the hands of a man like that!"
The former Lady Virtuous is no longer in white. All of her garments, what there are of them, are also black. Her clothing consists of a black corset that is laced up the front and bikini bottoms. Long gloves and boots, along with a cloak complete her ensemble.
"And I am Lady Bale once more!", the black-clad woman states. "No longer do I call anyone master! My mind, my will is my own again!"
Turning to the Black Paladin she angrily adds, "You used me, controlled me like a puppet! No more! You'll pay for your indignities!"
Lady Bale draws her Sword of Kane and seems on the verge of attacking the Black Paladin!
"And even more chaos!", Devilspawn giddily adds. "How delightful! The woman is a black hearted as the rest of us and she dresses almost as splendidly as I do! I'm just gonna sit back and see how this all plays out! No matter the outcome, I win!"

Inside the infamous summoning area of Horton's Plaza, something strange and magical is transpiring. A rift has appeared in the area where Devilspawn attempted to summon the Nether Lord two days ago. It's a black haze that gives off the feelings of evil and malevolence.
Lady Virtuous states that a more powerful magician than her will be required to seal the rift. Frostbite thinks of Eldrich but doesn't have time to try and contact the Vigilant's resident mage as Devilspawn and the Black Magus arrive on the scene!
The Black Magus casts a spell and bands of black magical energy bind all four of the heroes. The mage announces that the rift is a source of unlimited magical energy that he will use to increase his power! Devilspawn is delighted by this.
Frostbite strains against the bands holding him and manages to gesture towards where the Black Magus is walking. A thin coating of ice covers the steps up to the elevated platform, but the evil mage just simply walks around it.
Goldstar takes a more direct approach. Since she was already in Neutron Star form so that she could carry Frostbite there is no need to make a change. Goldstar strains and shatters the bands with surprising ease! Even she's shocked at just how easy that easy that was.
"Hey!", Devilspawn protests. "No one said that you could do that!"
Escaping so easy surprises Goldstar momentary, allowing Devilspawn to act. The half-demoness casts her own spell and suddenly a sheath of black energy surrounds Goldstar. The solar powered heroine cannot be seen thorough the black energy as it crushes in on her.
"And that is that", Devilspawn says brushing her hands off. "Cute, but not too bright that one. I'd love to spend an afternoon playing with her!"
Back up on the platform, the Black Magus has reached the black haze and dramatically sticks his arm into it! The dark magician takes on an even more sinister looking appearance as the haze moves to surround him.
"Yes!", the mage gleefully cries out. "This is power undreamt of!"
The Black Magus looks out and his gaze becomes fixed upon the Paladin and Lady Virtuous. He stares at the pair as if with new eyes.
"How interesting… Your current state is not your natural one! You were both changed somehow… By ancient magic. Yes, I can undo what has been done to you both. Free you from your curse!"
The Black Magus gestures and both the Paladin and Lady Virtuous rise up into the air. Both struggle inside the black bands that hold them. A fearful looks on the lovely face of Lady Virtuous as she is helplessly drawn towards the Black Magus. The Paladin's features are concealed behind his helm. Both hover a few inches above the floor.
"Hey, what are you doing that for", Devilspawn starts to object. "I thought we'd save them for a snack later on. I just love to play with goody-goodies! They are so delicious to corrupt."
"Silence, demoness!", the Black Magus demands. "You make a poor ally as you are too interested in playing games instead of gathering power. But these two, these two know what it is like. They shall make excellent allies once I am finished with them."
"Spare the female and I shall do as you ask", the Paladin offers.
"How gallant of you", the Black Magus responds. "But ultimately foolish and unnecessary. I want both of you as you were, not as you are."

Roll Call: Backlash & Tesla
Elsewhere in San Diego, Backlash and Tesla have come across the rampaging Monster! The combat has taken Backlash into a bookstore. The Monster has done heavy damage to the shop from his passage. Rage plays across the man-beasts face and he rushes to attack once more! This time he's razor sharp claws are on display!
Backlash holds his ground as the enraged gothic villain bears down on him! At seemingly the last moment, Backlash falls backward, avoiding a claw strike in the process. His feet make contact with the Monster's torso and the villain is thrown forward and back out of the store again!
The Monster hits the pavement and looses it. He screams incoherently as Tesla tags him with yet another electrical blast. The Monster goes flying a short distance again, but remains in the street this time.
Enraged beyond all rational thought, the Monster sinks his hands into the street and rips up whole chunks of concrete with frightening ease. The makeshift missile is tossed at a surprised Tesla and hits! The electrical woman's force field blocks most of the damage, but the impact does hurt her and sends her sprawling almost fifty feet across the sky!
The Monster roars in inhuman glee from his efforts.

Roll Call: Tilt-A-Whirl
Tilt has stolen the bank robbers getaway van and driven off with it! Her intent was to drive it back to the Army checkpoint, but got lost in the process. Driving down the street, Tilt is startled to discover a figure in what appears to be some type of environmental suit in the middle of the road! The figure is just as shocked to see the vehicle bearing down on it!
Tilt desperately tries to swerve to miss the figure, but turns the wheel to fast and the van suddenly flips over! Realizing what is about to happen, Tilt bails out and dashes off easily with her superspeed.
Much to her surprise, there is no bone crushing sound of the van hitting the startled figure. Instead, the vehicle passes harmlessly through them! The figure did try to duck and is just as surprised at being unharmed as Tilt is!
As Tilt rushes closer, the figure becomes transparent and then just fades away until nothing is left.
The van tumbled and rolled over a few times before crashing into several other parked cars.

Flux slips into Sally's rooms easily enough and secures strands of hair from a hair brush while avoiding the roomate.
Shaking off the effects Flux heads back out of the building making sure of his DNA samples as he goes.
Reaching the outside Flux will call Edgar at once to get an update on available members and form a team to act on the info.
One billion in six hours is impossible-and they know it. Even if they got it they would still blow the reactor. It's the nature of Terror Unlimited.

Suddenly, the program is interrupted by a late breaking bulletin concerning the Caliente Nuclear Testing Laboratories in the outskirts of San Diego. The place is well known to Flux as he works there for his brother Sam!
Reports indicate that the Supervillain team of Terror Unlimited is threatening to explode an experimental fast-breeder reactor unless they are paid one billion dollars in the next six hours!

Eldrich arises later then everyone else due in part to his differing sleep cycle of a 28 hour day and the effects of his repeating nightmares. By the time he has washed and taken in the changes to the High One's structure the day is well advanced. Hence Eldrich arrives to speak with the High One's Edgar after everyone else is gone.
"Greetings High One. Might I inquire as to whither or not you have registered a strong source of magic in the great city during the night? I detected it last evening but was unable to report it until now. It was rather strong even by the standards of my home realm."
"I will be going towards it now. If you wish to track me as I do so I will not take it amiss."
As always, Eldrich is unsure of just what constitutes polite behavior among these people. At home being followed or watched was a sign of possible untoward interest at worst and rude at best. Here? It could be a form of praise for all he knows. Best to be careful especially with a Higher Being.
Eldrich will Step out of the castle and orient towards the source of magic, stopping to Detect as needed until he reaches the desired point-or something happens to distract him.....

Lily-Tesla is just about to atomize the drugs an paraphenalia when she pauses. Slapping her forehead, she says to herself as much as to Guiding Light, "I am such a moron. This is all evidence; we can't destroy it. We'd better leave it for the authorities; they'll need it for the trial to put these jerks in jail." She releases the Tesla form and returns to Menagerie.

D'oh! Actually, I'm the one who's a moron. Totally forgot about the evidence angle. Since this would have been obvious to Lily, I gave her a roll based on her skills, which she made successfully.
"I would be happy to meet the Reverend, but we're currently on an important mission. Once we're done here, we have to proceed with our mission. Perhaps we could meet him later? Oh, crap Blackout thinks, as he motions to Serena that he will be right back. Isn't Lily an attorney or something? he ponders and he rapidly descends into the ship. He'll search them out quickly, hoping to catch them before anything is tampered with. At least security saw the men and all the weapons and heard the gunfire, so they still have some charges to bring these thugs up on.
"Hello, Menagerie, hold up!" Blackout calls out upon locating them. Catching part of her conversation, he thinks she realized what was going on too, but just in case, "Evidence there, don't destroy. Dock security is up above and Coast Guard will be here soon."
Blackout, having not spoken up or praising God beyond his initial statement about whether to side with the Guiding Light or not, remains quiet upon hearing the offer to meet Reverend Moses. If the ladies are interested, that's fine, but Blackout is one that believes one should seek out religion, not be led by the hand to it."The honor and pleasure is mine", the Guiding Light intones. Almost comical, Tesla comments on the Monster's behavior after being tossed around by her and Backlash's attacks. "Now, now, don't worry. They'll give you a sucker once you're in a nice, comfortable cell.... ooffff!"
Tesla is hit by a chunk of concrete and sent tumbling through the air. Her force field flickering wildly as it did its best to protect her, but still she felt the force of the impact. Regaining her composure and bearings, she is amazed at how far she was flung.

"wha?" is all she can mutter as she sees the van go right through him. "nowaitdontgo! ididntmeantotryandcrushyou!" she pleas with the man as he fades from view. "welllllll.. pooh," she says, disappointed and a bit saddened by his rude departure.
The van tumbled and rolled over a few times before crashing into several other parked cars.
"um,hehe," Tilt whispers nervously as the van smashes up several parked cars before finally coming to a stop. "surehopethestudiohasgoodinsurance," she says outloud as she turns to run back and see what those bad men in the bank are doing now.

As Tilt rushes closer, the figure becomes transparent and then just fades away until nothing is left.
"wha?" is all she can mutter as she sees the van go right through him. "nowaitdontgo! ididntmeantotryandcrushyou!" she pleas with the man as he fades from view. "welllllll.. pooh," she says, disappointed and a bit saddened by his rude departure.
The van tumbled and rolled over a few times before crashing into several other parked cars.
"um,hehe," Tilt whispers nervously as the van smashes up several parked cars before finally coming to a stop. "surehopethestudiohasgoodinsurance," she says outloud as she turns to run back and see what those bad men in the bank are doing now.
"wanna race?"

"I do not like this!", Goldstar cries out. She'll strain and try to break out of this new barrier. If that fails she'll try a Radiation Blast.

Serena is content to let Blackout speak with the arriving security forces. Much of the conversation means little to the Knight. From what she gathers other forces will soon be arriving to take these men into custody. Serena will appear perfectly at ease as she doesn't comprehend that any conflict exists.Oh, crap Blackout thinks, as he motions to Serena that he will be right back.
