Prologue:
The fifty foot tall Minuteman Mark 7 flew along at supersonic speeds. Inside the cockpit the Engineer directed the massive machine by her thoughts alone. The damage done to it by those annoying humans was being rapidly repaired. The self-repairing nature of the Mark 7 was an elegant and useful touch the Engineer concluded.
Once, many years ago, she was an ordinary woman. She was not pure by any stretch of the imagination as she routinely broke into places to secure high-tech machines and devices to satisfy her cravings for cutting edge technology.
She even went so far as to raid one of Mechanon's secret reconstruction bases. It was a veritable treasure trove to the young woman! The secrets she would take with her would make her a very wealthy woman. Unfortunately that woman never left the reconstruction base.
Hundreds of miles away, Mechanon's current body had been destroyed in a terrific battle. Once his CPU shut down, a signal was sent to the closest reconstruction base to begin assembling the next body to house the Prime Machine.
The Reconstruction Base swung into action and the woman was caught up in the process. The machines began their work to change her into Mechanon. The assembling equipment ignored the woman's agonized screams as it tore into her body.
The central computer sensed that something was wrong and shut the process down. The reconstruction signal was then sent to the next closest base as this one had generated an error.
The woman survived and fled the base in indescribable agony. The process had changed her, giving her the agenda of Mechanon: the destruction of all organic life. The process had also given her the power to control machines with just her mind. A deep rooted hatred of Mechanon remained for what the machine had done to her. He too must be destroyed.
Years later, the Engineer grew tired of using Mechanon as a patsy in her schemes. So far those so-called heroes had yet to destroy her arch-enemy. The time had come to take a more direct hand in the destruction of the Prime Machine.
The solution came in the form of a hidden GENOCIDE complex underneath the San Diego branch of ADT. There in that organization was creating cyborg warriors to battle the ever increasing numbers of mutants in the world. More importantly, a more advance version of the Minuteman robot was being built there. With the Mark 7, the Engineer would be able to finally destroy Mechanon and bring about the Age of the Machine. An age that would sound the death knell for the human race...

Crucible #40 - "War of the Machines"
After a brief conference at the remains of the ADT Building, the heroes have split up their forces once more. One group is chasing the Mark 7 to Death Valley, while the others will remain in San Diego and grapple with the various issues going on here. The Death Valley group flies off to catch a transport north.
Roll Call: Lily, Serena, Eldrich, Blackout, Tesla, Doc Sonic, Gladiator, Psi-Lad, Polaris, White Crane, Chimera, and Dr. Photon.
For those left behind, the grim task of sifting through the rubble begins. Chimera and Dr. Photon work in tandem. Chimera somehow directs Photon, telling her where to dig. At Chimera's direction, Dr. Photon fires off a tremendous laser blast from her gauntlets boring tunnels into the rubble.
There is a spark of electricity in the tunnel that Dr. Photon just created. The spark shoots outward and grows into Electra. The electrically charged woman collapses to the ground and seems to be hurt.
Not too far away, a similar scene is playing out with members of the Young Champions. Psi-Lad, supported by White Crane, directs Gladiator and Polaris where to dig for survivors. The young mentalist being able to detect the thoughts of those trapped inside the debris. Gladiator is able to shift debris where needed with his considerable strength, while Polaris is able to repel metal girders.
Doc Sonic hovers overhead just waiting to be able to help.
In a different section of the collapse, an explosion rings out. A huge slab of debris is shot into the sky carried by a fiery blast. A weary Fire & Ice flies out of the hole. He hovers for a few moments and then lands back on the debris, seemingly unable to keep himself aloft.

It was discussed going after the remaining three Mark V's, but no one was assigned that task just yet. Who's going where to do what?
Those inside the ADT Building when it went down include numerous PRIMUS Agents, GENOCIDE Agents, six cyborgs, and several super-powered individuals. The prisoners: Denier, Devilspawn, Aviator, Electra, Fire & Ice, and Silver Avenger Rackham. The Black Queen and the Purifier led the Genocide forces. The majority of the PRIMUS agents and all the ADT Security personal were taken out before the collapse between the efforts of Cyborgs controlled by the Engineer and the GENOCIDE force.

Seeing the size of the group going in pursuit of Mechanon, Quasar announces that the Protectors Sky Cruiser is large enough to carry them all. It can safely carry eight or more people. Starguard gives Quasar the coordinates and you're off.

Lily approaches Gladiator. "Can you contact PRIMUS and find out where they want the captured metahumans transferred? Probably a good idea to let them know the current status here, as well."
Seeing Electra collapse as she emerges, Lily figures that one is not an issue at the moment. However, Fire&Ice appears to still be on his feet - if barely. Lily flies over in her Gold-Lily form. "Surrender now, Fire&Ice, and you won't be harmed."

It was my impression that they were going to deal with the current situation first, then move on to the Mark Vs and other problems. If others disagree and feel that the Minutemen need to be dealt with immediately (and Lily would consult Gladiator on this decision, as he has the most experience as a leader), then she would recommend that Tesla, Polaris and herself be assigned to go after them. They seem to be the ones most likely to be able to handle the robots.

Blackout will continue with the search efforts. He doesn't mind as he knows he would have been of little help against the Mark 7 and Mechanon. Plus, he wants to keep tabs on Chimera and Dr. Photon since he has a gut feeling that they may try something sneaky.
He takes note of the emerging Fire & Ice and listens as Lily confronts him. He will be ready to move in support of Lily if she needs it, but otherwise will continue the search efforts.

Jen enjoys the short trip and finds it different to be with so many different heroes than she's used to. Once on the scene we can see that the fighting between the Engineer and the Mechanon is going full bore. It's strange to see Mechanon as a major threat, since Jen has only known him through Peacekeeper, the reprogrammed Mechanon copy. It'll be a conscious effort to remember that he's a threat.

"Unfortunately, I do not have a way to contact them. Judging by the disaster both here and back at PRIMUS HQ, I don’t think PRIMUS is any shape to help themselves, let alone us. They brought the captures here since it was the only other place to hold them. I don't believe we have adequate means to hold any of them now beyond a standard cell and I don't see that holding anyone with superpowers for very long. Gladiator will ask if Edgar can locate the Mark 5's with his tracking equipment. We could probably get them from either the zoo or a hospital. Sedatives is probably the best choice at this time. They can be provided by the medical staff back at the castle. Lily becomes alarmed when she hears that one of the Mark V's is heading toward them. "Tesla! Polaris! One of the Minuteman robots is heading this way! Intercept if you can!" Lily calls out. She notes Doc Sonic floating overhead. "Doc Sonic! Can you help them?"

Lily has dealt with a number of convicts over the years, so she isn't surprised by the man's reply. Considering how outnumbered the man is, any reasonable person would give up, but criminals are rarely reasonable. Floating over closer, Gold-Lily gets in Fire&Ice's face. She will soar upward to a better vantage point and look around in anticipation for the approaching Minuteman. The heroes continue to render aid at the ADT Building collapse. Serena goes to help an injured Electra while Chimera and the Dr. Photon watch.
Serena uses her magic to help heal Electra. The enchantment does its work and Electra does feel better.
"Thank you", Electra will quietly say.
"Most impressive", Chimera adds.
Thanks to being alerted by Edgar, the Vigilant know that one of the remaining three Mark 5's is heading to this location. Gold-Lily directs Tesla and Polaris to intercept. Tesla rises up into the air on the look out for the incoming target.
Polaris looks around but can't see anything coming this way. Doc Sonic flies up to join Tesla, but keeps a discrete distance away from her. The pair can see a large dot in the sky coming closer. Its still too far away to clearly make out.
While all this is going on, Gold-Lily confronts Fire & Ice who just blasted his way out of the rubble.
The alternating flame and ice covered man pegs Gold-Lily with a blast of fire. Much of the attack is deflected by the glowing force field that surrounds her, but it does push her back. Looking back at Fire & Ice, Gold-Lily can see that he used the last of his energy to make that one attack and has collapsed on the rubble pile. Fire & Ice is unconscious, but his body continues to cycle through being frozen and burning.
Back on the ground, the Mark 5 begins to come into sight. Oddly enough, there is something running extremely fast before it! Its as if the Mark 5 was chasing the fast moving target. Reach the rubble of the building the runner stops and you can see that it is a young woman.
Overhead, Tesla fires off an electrical blast hitting the giant machine. The Mark 5 takes damage, but continues to approach.

The heroes continue to render aid at the ADT Building collapse. Serena goes to help an injured Electra while Chimera and the Dr. Photon watch.
This proclamation piques Chimera's interest. "Magic you say? How interesting."Serena wrote:"I have limited magical abilities and among them is healing of wounds. That is what I shall now do for your companion."
Serena uses her magic to help heal Electra. The enchantment does its work and Electra does feel better.
"Thank you", Electra will quietly say.
"Most impressive", Chimera adds.
Thanks to being alerted by Edgar, the Vigilant know that one of the remaining three Mark 5's is heading to this location. Gold-Lily directs Tesla and Polaris to intercept. Tesla rises up into the air on the look out for the incoming target.
Polaris looks around but can't see anything coming this way. Doc Sonic flies up to join Tesla, but keeps a discrete distance away from her. The pair can see a large dot in the sky coming closer. Its still too far away to clearly make out.
While all this is going on, Gold-Lily confronts Fire & Ice who just blasted his way out of the rubble.
Anger building with in, Fire & Ice responds with, "LEAVE… ME… ALONE!"Gold-Lily wrote:"I don't think you understand. That's not an option. You committed the crimes; you'll do the time. Surrender. Now. This is your final warning."
The alternating flame and ice covered man pegs Gold-Lily with a blast of fire. Much of the attack is deflected by the glowing force field that surrounds her, but it does push her back. Looking back at Fire & Ice, Gold-Lily can see that he used the last of his energy to make that one attack and has collapsed on the rubble pile. Fire & Ice is unconscious, but his body continues to cycle through being frozen and burning.
Back on the ground, the Mark 5 begins to come into sight. Oddly enough, there is something running extremely fast before it! Its as if the Mark 5 was chasing the fast moving target. Reach the rubble of the building the runner stops and you can see that it is a young woman.
Overhead, Tesla fires off an electrical blast hitting the giant machine. The Mark 5 takes damage, but continues to approach.

Quasar pilots the Sky Cruiser in for a safe landing a discrete distance from the battle between Mechanon and the Engineer. While waiting for a good time to intervene, the other heroes converse with the heroes of San Diego.
"We've battle Mechanon before," Quasar states. "His Kilbots are tough, but they can be defeated. Fortunately, they are not as powerful as their master."
"They're slag when I'm around!", Helios proudly declares.
Frostbite begins to feel the effects of the intense heat of Death Valley. He begins to perspire heavily, and water drips off of his body.
"I think I may have uncovered something useful," Starguard interrupts. "I've been scanning the battle and have discovered a weakness in the Mark 7 that we may be able to exploit. From the battles back in San Diego, we've seen that electricity is very damaging to the Mark 5's. For added protection, the Mark 7 has a protective force field that surrounds. The force field adapts to the last attack that caused it damage and therein lies it weakness. We'll need to stagger our attacks so that the force field is not adapted to the attack coming at it. It's not much of an advantage, but one we can exploit."
"The number of Kilbots has dropped to just six functioning units. I believe the time to take action is at hand!"
"Lets move out", Quasar commands. "Lets keep our distance and alternate our attacks against the Mark 7. We'll take the Mark 7 out first and try to keep it from flying off again. Lets end this matter here."

Tesla is amazed at the speed of the person, a young girl possibly, as she runs right up to where everyone else is. Her speeds seemed to have outpaced the Mark 5, but Tesla has no time to inquire the girl's intentions.
The sonic attack really doesn't seem to phase Tesla at all, but Doc Sonic doesn't seem so hardy. She thinks it kind of odd that such an attack would down the man with a similar name. There is no time to consider that question any further, as Tesla seems to be the only one left in any position to hit the Mark 5. She'll unleash another electrical blast, hoping this one does more damage.

Back on the ground, the Mark 5 begins to come into sight. Oddly enough, there is something running extremely fast before it! Its as if the Mark 5 was chasing the fast moving target. Reach the rubble of the building the runner stops and you can see that it is a young woman.
"ohboyohboyohboy!" Tilt-A-Whirl keeps running as fast as she can. This giant robot is persistent though. "Watchoutthisthingisreallyticked!" she'll spurt out as she sees people up ahead. They look like super heroes though and one even fires a blast of electricity at the robot chasing her!
Tilt-A-Whirl stops at seeing this and looks back. The robot is hit but attacks back. She isn't sure what it did, but the sound was not pleasent. One of the people flying suddenly starts dropping like a stone!

As they watch the battle below unfold Frosty cant help but watch in mixed emotions, one of awe and the other of fear. As he watches he can't but help but notice he is sweating more so then usual. Asking those around him,"Is it hot in her or is it me?" as he wipes his brow.
Unsure exactly what is happening to him though he takes the sign of being bad more so then good he will revert back to human form. "Flux, I dunno how much longer I'll be able to take this heat."

The spell is cast and the woman seems to be in better shape. Looking back, Serena can see another of the giant constructs approaching. Judging by the number of mechanical men she's seen this day, such a thing must be normal in this strange world.
Suddenly a fast moving girl is spotted on the ground before the flying construct! Perhaps it was chasing her?
Tesla attacks the construct with her ability to channel the storm's lightning. Serena can't help but recall how much damage such attacks did the constructs who tried to attack Edgar.
The construct attacks with another screaming burst and it causes one of the Protectors to fall! But it is not a problem as Lily changes form to catch the falling woman.
An idea coming to her, Serena turns back to Chimera, Dr. Photon, and Electra. To Electra she will say, "If you do command the power of the storm as your name suggests, than unleash its fury against yon construct! Yours is the power that can destroy it!"

Once the call to action comes, Goldstar will happily fly along with the others. Since these are all robots of various types, she won't hesitate to use her Radiation Blast in the battle.

"I get it! Then that explains why the second electrical attack we hit the Mark 7 with back in San Diego didn't do as much damage. The automatic defenses adapted to that form of attack! So all we have to do is make sure that some one else attacks it in between Maelstrom and myself. Seems simple. But probably won’t be."
Once we're ready to move out, Nemesis will fly along with the others. When the attack on the Mark 7 comes, she'll make sure to wait until someone else has attacked the Minuteman after Maelstrom before attacking it herself.

Flux plans to do the same thing he intended before: get above it and drop down on the Mark 7 from miniture size to full mass/growth, using the flying tackle manuever.
At the very least it will NOTICE me and draw attacks off the others...

At the remains of the ADT building, another Minuteman Mark 5 has arrived on the scene chasing a fleet footed young woman. Tesla greets the robot with one of her electrical blasts, but the construct survives it.
The Mark 5 retaliates unleashing a sonic blast that rattles Tesla's teeth but does no harm to her. The same cannot be said of the Protector known as Doc Sonic as the heroine plummets from the sky.
Lily transforms and flies up to catch Doc Sonic, which she does before Sonic can hit the pavement.
Undaunted, Tesla fires another blast at the Mark 5. Again she hits the giant robot and this time there is noticeable damage to the robot. It slows in its approach and smoke pours out of it. It appears that it is having trouble remaining airborne.
On the ground, Chimera watches the battle with the Mark 5 with her associates Dr. Photon and Electra. Serena suggests that Electra use her powers to help in the battle.
Taking the hint, both Electra and Dr. Photon attack the Mark 5. Electra generates a bolt of lightning that rips into the Minuteman, while Dr. Photon pounds it with lethal intensity lasers! There is a bright flash as the Minuteman explodes under the combined attacks! Those looking at the Mark 5 are momentarily blinded and debris pelts the area.
Tilt-a-While simply runs about, avoiding the solid shower, while Blackout avoids the pieces as if he had a sixth sense to him. Tesla's force field saves her from harm, while Lily flies off with Doc Sonic.
The large chunks of the Minuteman slam into the street and the dust settles once more. As the heroes gather their wits about them from this, they notice two things.
One, Chimera, Dr. Photon, and Electra are gone. They must have slipped away while everyone was distracted.
Two, there is man dressed in regular clothes, but wearing a mask in the area who wasn't there before. He stands about 6'2" and has a muscular build. His hair is cut short and black in color with a goatee. His eyes are ice blue in color. Over a white T-shirt he wears a loose leather jacket and blue jeans. On his hands he wears tight leather clothes with the fingers missing.
Now what?

Outside of Mechanon's secret base in Death Valley, the heroes go forth to engage the Minuteman Mark 7. Directed by the enigmatic Engineer, the giant robot has been attacking the base, boring holes in it with its laser eyes. The Kilbots that were sent to combat the Mark 7 were only annoyances.
Most fly off under their own power, but Frostbite sets out on foot. He has changed back into his human form as his ice form was suffering in the intense desert heat. Frosty can see that the others are ready to begin their assault off in the distance.
Flux flies high up into the air and disappears from sight. Quasar also takes a position well above ground and will direct the assault.
Maelstrom starts off the festivities. His mutant power generates a thunderstorm over the Mark 7 and then a stroke of lightning issues forth striking the giant machine! The electricity arcs across the Mark 7 and does some damage to it.
Helios flies in next and blasts the Mark 7 with a stream of fire. The attack doesn't seem to hurt the Mark 7 much.
Quasar next directs Goldstar to attack. Goldstar flies closer, points her hands at the Mark 7, and cries out, "Radiation Blast!". The Rad Blast hits, but much like Helios' attack, it doesn't seem to slow the giant machine down.
Nemesis is up next, but the Mark 7 beats her to the punch. It fires lasers from its eyes, striking the pink clad Young Champion! Nemesis is flung backwards and away from the battle field.
Jen lands not that far away from Frostbite. He rushes to her side and finds that Nemesis is unconscious and bleeding from the attacking!
A giant shadow comes over the Mark 7 as Flux returns to the scene. Grown to his full height, Flux is still shorter than the Mark 7 by nearly a dozen feet.
This time the Mark 7 can not get away. Flux does a flying tackle into the giant machine, and both titans go down! The impact knocks the Mark 7 off of its feet, sending it head first into Mechanon's base! A loud crash is heard and the earth in the immediate vicinity shakes!
Dust and sand are hurtled into the air, blocking your view. When it clears, the Mark 7 is still down. The last five Kilbots close in on the giant robot to make sure…

Jen lands not that far away from Frostbite. He rushes to her side and finds that Nemesis is unconscious and bleeding from the attacking!
A giant shadow comes over the Mark 7 as Flux returns to the scene. Grown to his full height, Flux is still shorter than the Mark 7 by nearly a dozen feet.
This time the Mark 7 can not get away. Flux does a flying tackle into the giant machine, and both titans go down! The impact knocks the Mark 7 off of its feet, sending it head first into Mechanon's base! A loud crash is heard and the earth in the immediate vicinity shakes!
Dust and sand are hurtled into the air, blocking your view. When it clears, the Mark 7 is still down. The last five Kilbots close in on the giant robot to make sure…

Goldstar will look at Frosty with a strange look on her face.
"Well, yes it is hot in me. I mean, I do channel the energy of stars so I am naturally hot. This has never bothered you before?"
Noticing the strange look on her face he realizes his blunder and soon blushes and says."In more ways then one." he will say softly to himself. " No no not at all it has never bothered me before. I just feel weaker, it must be this heat." Noticing the building pool about him.
While Goldstar waits for an answer, she can't help but notice that Frosty is melting!
"Oh, I get it now! It’s the conditions here in Death Valley that is affecting you. Flux, perhaps Frosty should stay here with the Sky Cruiser? These conditions are detrimental to someone with cold powers."
He will quickly reassure her, "I'll be fine. If I can't pull my weight then Im not part of the team. Besides I can change back and forth. Hopefully that will limit the affects of this heat."
Frosty watches as the battle continues before him. His counterparts give the machine a run for their money as he watches from below. Wanting to do is part he begins to concentrate on his ice form but quickly stops.
Nemesis is up next, but the Mark 7 beats her to the punch. It fires lasers from its eyes, striking the pink clad Young Champion! Nemesis is flung backwards and away from the battle field.

The mark 7 fires a laser burst and hits one of his companions though he cannot tell who it was. Worse off they are coming right for him! He soon realizes he wont be able to catch her at the speed she is moving and moves outta the way. As she Lands near by he rushes toward the prone figure,"Nemesis!" he will yell as he slides in the dust beside her.
He checks her vitals and finds that she will survive, Though she is bleeding. Ripping a part of his shirt off he will plus her wounds to stop the bleeding. Once done he will elevate her head while saying,"Come on wake up." as he fans her face with his free hand.

"Doc? You okay?" Lily asks the woman in her arms. Not knowing the extent of the woman's injuries, she flies over toward Serena, whose healing touch has revived Electra. Meanwhile, both Electra and Dr. Photon blast the Genocide robot, causing it to explode. When the flash of the explosion fades, Chimera, Dr. Photon and Electra are gone!
Lily groans. "They got away! @#$@!" She looks at Serena. "I have no doubt we'll be seeing those three again. And I doubt it will be pleasant." A moment of reflection, then Lily holds Doc Sonic out towards Serena. "She was hurt by that loud blast from the robot. Do you think you can help her?"
It occurs to Lily that there is an unknown man standing in their midst. "Uhm, hello? Can I help you? This isn't the safest place to be right now..."
Overhearing the request, Lily thinks it a good idea. However, she doesn't have time to say so, as Doc Sonic plunges from the sky and Lily races off to catch her. Fortunately, she succeeds and the young woman is saved from an unpleasant collision with the ground.Serena wrote:An idea coming to her, Serena turns back to Chimera, Dr. Photon, and Electra. Watching from a nearby rooftop the man Known as Backlash survey's the scene as a gaint robot chases a speedster below.
Several blasts of electricty connect to the construct as he leaps through the air to reach the battle incase he is needed.
As he lands nearby a flash of light and the falling sound of debris cover his approach. The debris soon rains down about them the street garbed man soon covers his face with his leather clad arm and glove.
Bringing his arm down he straightens his jacket and looks about the scene surveying those within.
It occurs to Lily that there is an unknown man standing in their midst. "Uhm, hello? Can I help you? This isn't the safest place to be right now..."
"Hello. I was just in the neighborhood and saw the plume of smoke, Figured somone might need some help." He will laugh heartily at her last remark. "Most of San Diego isn't safe for mutants with them robots running around unchecked. Besides I can take care of myself quite well." he will add matter of factly.

Blackout:
Taking a quick headcount, everyone else seems to be present, including the two recent arrivals. He listens to Backlash's introduction, which seems reasonable enough. He does quietly wonder if the young speedster will ever slow down her speech enough to say anything he can hope to understand.
Concentrating on not getting squished by falling debris, Blackout is unable to effictively retort with a colorful remark. He does think to himself that finally the super-powered women have done something not entirely selfish. However, any thoughts of celebrating their change of heart are quickly dashed.Taking the hint, both Electra and Dr. Photon attack the Mark 5. Electra generates a bolt of lightning that rips into the Minuteman, while Dr. Photon pounds it with lethal intensity lasers! There is a bright flash as the Minuteman explodes under the combined attacks! Those looking at the Mark 5 are momentarily blinded and debris pelts the area.
Tilt-a-While simply runs about, avoiding the solid shower, while Blackout avoids the pieces as if he had a sixth sense to him. Tesla's force field saves her from harm, while Lily flies off with Doc Sonic.
"Lily, really! Such language. A good thing there aren't children about!" Blackout teases. "It does however seem like my hunch about them wasn't far from the mark."The large chunks of the Minuteman slam into the street and the dust settles once more. As the heroes gather their wits about them from this, they notice two things.
One, Chimera, Dr. Photon, and Electra are gone. They must have slipped away while everyone was distracted.

Two, there is man dressed in regular clothes, but wearing a mask in the area who wasn't there before. He stands about 6'2" and has a muscular build. His hair is cut short and black in color with a goatee. His eyes are ice blue in color. Over a white T-shirt he wears a loose leather jacket and blue jeans. On his hands he wears tight leather clothes with the fingers missing.

Tilt-A-Whirl:
The big robot is blown apart and rains its broken pieces down on everyone. "lookout!makeway!" Tilt-A-Whirl yells as she keeps moving, dodging and turning to avoid the showering robot guts.
"whewboythatwasclose!" she says once everything calms down. Suddenly she realizes there are a few of these heroes looking at her strangely. It begins to make sense and she tries to explain. "ohyeahsorry... um.. I mean, sorry about that," she says, visibly struggling to slow down her speech. "I tend to get a little hyper!" she admits with a broad grin. "Gladtomeetcha, my name is Tilt-A-Whirl."

"Long as you're here, feel free to pitch in. We're trying to dig through the ruins of this building to see if anyone else is trapped in the rubble. Any chance you can help us with that?"
Once the discussion with the two new arrivals winds down, Lily transforms into a huge, very strong gorilla. Using her enhanced senses, she'll continue trying to locate bodies of the living and dead in the rubble.
Lily smiles wearily at Blackout. "I'm just tired and frustrated. Once outside, Goldstar flies along and lets the man with the cute white wings direct traffic.
The next thing Goldstar knows, Flux drops in from out of the sky and levels the Mark7. Seeing that, Goldstar will fly off to see if her 'older sister' is okay after being blasted. She finds Frosty already on the scene.
"Is she going to be okay, Frosty?"
"Yes, must be the heat", Goldstar will repeat. Goldstar is not surprised by the result of her attack as it didn't have much affect during the earlier attack back at the castle. She is surprised when Nemesis is blasted away before she can even attack!Quasar next directs Goldstar to attack. Goldstar flies closer, points her hands at the Mark 7, and cries out, "Radiation Blast!". The Rad Blast hits, but much like Helios' attack, it doesn't seem to slow the giant machine down.
The next thing Goldstar knows, Flux drops in from out of the sky and levels the Mark7. Seeing that, Goldstar will fly off to see if her 'older sister' is okay after being blasted. She finds Frosty already on the scene.

The Knight can only watch as those who command the fury of the storm unleash their powers against the giant construct. Serena will suggest to Chimera that her associates help out.
Serena is forced to look away as the construct explodes under the combined assault. Spots play before her eyes for a few moments. When her sight does return, Chimera, Dr. Photon, and Electra are all gone!
The Knight will be courteous to the new arrivals and will introduce herself to Backlash and Tilt-A-Whirl. "I am Serena, Knight of the Order of the Golden Chalice. I bid you welcome." She'll give Tilt-A-Whirl an odd look upon hearing the super fast woman's name, as if she has no idea what it means. (And she doesn't!)
After wards, Serena will continue to help sift through the rubble for any more survivors.

"A pleasure to meet you, Backlash," Lily replies. "Having just become a metahuman yesterday, I haven't really settled into the whole superhero thing yet, but I suppose it's about time I at least chose a name for myself." She pauses to think for a moment. "I guess you can call me Menagerie - that should work.

Tesla will remain airborne while the last of the searching takes place. There are still more Mark 5's somewhere and they could pick up on all the super powered individuals around. She doesn't want to get caught unaware. She will take long looks in every direction while staying close enough to offer assistance on the ground should it be needed.
Tesla doesn't remember the Mark 5's being so stubborn, but before she can follow up any further, Electra and Dr. Photon turn the robot into a minature exploding star. Her force field saves her from any harm, and it looks as though no one on the ground is injured either. Feeling increasingly confused, Eldrich has not been able to formulate an attack plan against the constructs that have been plaguing his new friends. Fortunetley, Lily's quick thinking and the electrical prowess of two ladies present are sufficient to the task.
The disappearence of the three ladies is offset somewhat by the arrival of two other newcomers each unique in their way-and more confusing to the already befuddled mage.
So many people in one place at once-so much activity, makes it harder to focus then I would have believed possible. My concentration will need work if I am to live here in this city of wonders....and so will my magic.
