The Dark One has been imprisoned once more, but Elspeth has yet to awaken from the ritual. Kharyna examines the young woman but finds nothing wrong with her. She simply appears to be asleep.
In the background the some of the group experiment with their new weapons, while others talk about deeds to come.
Elspeth begins to come around and her eyes flutter open. She smiles at those around her.
"Good to see you, my friends. We have done much good this day, but alas we will have to wait to celebrate. We must leave this place immediately! Make haste!"
As if to further demonstrate how urgent Elspeth's statement is, a thunderous footfall is heard off in the distance. It is vaguely familiar to that of the Spirit of the Swamp.
Everyone rushes out of the shrine to discover that indeed there is another gigantic creature outside. It is about 100 feet away from the shrine and closing.
However, this one is not quite like the Swamp Spirit. It is composed of earth, grass, shrubs, and even whole trees! As it trudges along, the swamp is absorbed into the massive creature. In its passing, the swamp is transformed into a fresh forest. The swamp water is gone and solid ground exists in its place. Trees, plants, and shrubs grow in its passing at a greatly accelerated rate. Mighty oaks grow from a sprout to seventy feet tall in a matter of seconds!
"It is a creature known as a Nature Elemental," Elspeth will explain as she hurries away from the shrine. "What we fought before was the spirit of this land as it was tainted by the Dark One. Now that it has been cleansed, it will restore the land to what it originally was. Everything will be purified and reborn. Such a fate will happen to us should we linger!"
The group rushes back the way they came as the Nature Elemental does its task. The Shrine is quickly reached and absorbed into the massive creature. In a matter of seconds it is gone as if it never existed. The oppressive fog that covered the land dissipates and the sun shines in.
The site where the horses were left in the magical dwelling is reached. The mounts are quickly retrieved along with Po and Talia. The Guardians quickly continue their ride back out of the swamp.
Behind the Nature Elemental continues on with its task. The foul smell that infested the swamp is fading away. Those undead who remained in the swamp are swept up by the forty foot tall elemental and transformed into compost for the new forest that is forming up.
The Guardians safely ride out of the swamp and back into the plains. Turning back, they watch as the Nature Elemental carries out its task. More and more of the swamp is converted and returned to what it originally was. A sizeable forest springs up where the foul swamp used to be. The haze of evil that enveloped it is gone as well.
The group will be able to make camp a safe distance away from the swamp/forest. (You can even ride further away should you desire.) Jallarzi will conjure her magical mansion and the group retires for the evening.
Before entering the house, Lord Acerion will notice something standing nearby. It is what appears to be a magnificent white stallion. Upon closer inspection, the horse has a pair of white feathery wings! Strangely enough, it wasn't there a moment ago.

GM Notes:
And that brings this particular tale to a close. I'm assuming that those magic items that Lilia put into a pile were grabbed. Since Po was not there to help in the removal of the armor and no one else mentioned it, I assume that it was left on the bodies. They were gobbled up by the Nature Elemental.
Likewise there was not enough time to search the inside of the shrine beyond a quick look.
You're still over a day away from Rennydale on horseback. You may update your spell lists if you are going to make changes.
Here's what was recovered:
Cloak
Ring
Mace
Bracers
Broach
Staff
Longsword
Longsword
Flail
Shield
Flail
Shield
Dagger (was dripping with poison)
Boots
4 Potions
From the sounds of the discussions going on, we're going to be splitting into three games. The largest faction will be continuing on with Validar in this particular game.
Kharyna and her crew, Swanny, Lara, and Talia will be returning to their own adventures. That game is a continuation of things we have done live before. Tower of Magic is a dungeon crawl of epic proportions.
The last group will feature Kylie and her exploits in trying to uncover more information about the Cult of the Blackflame.
Many of you have decided which direction that you are going to go in, but everyone should make their choice in this post. Those interested in running new characters in this other games should contact me to get the process rolling.
Updated Hit Points:
Acerion - 36 of 46
Gwenith - 29 of 30
Swanny - 42 of 73
Validar - 35 of 76
Now what?

Grondar:
"You are right, lady Kharyna. I will need to get some sleep and request the proper boons from Berronar in the morning anyway."
Grondar looks about for anyone who needs help in fleeing. He can easily lift them up and carry them off. If not, he'll check with Lilia and Kylie to see if they need any help carting the magical items away. With his strength and Boots, he should be able to cart away anything remaining.
Reaching stable ground with the others, Grondar gives a sigh. Turning, he watches as the Nature Elemental finishes its work. The gods have chosen well, and Grondar is pleased by the transformation that it works over this land. The swamp becomes forest, and Grondar glances over at Lilia. "A new home for some of your people, perhaps?"
As evening approaches, Grondar makes ready for a night of rest. His evening devotions are full of thanks and praise for Berronar and her peers. In the morning he will rise and make perform his prayers to gain the magical blessings of Berronar. Once that is complete, he will join his companions for a light breakfast and prepare for the journey back to Rennydale.
Kharyna wrote:"No rush. I believe it may be prudent to make our plans today and complete them in the morning. We will have more time to prepare that way and the process should be much easier."
"Very good. And I have the Secure Shelter spells available as well. Not as marvelous as the ones Jallarzi or Sherwood can produce, but adequate nonetheless."
"You are right, lady Kharyna. I will need to get some sleep and request the proper boons from Berronar in the morning anyway."
"Thank goodness that you are well. Please know that if there is ever anything that you would like to talk about, I am a very good listener..." Grondar says with a friendly smile.Lilia wrote:Still sitting on the ground, Lilia will turn to Grondar when he kneels down beside her and smile. "I am not injured, good dwarf. Thank you for your concern. I believe I have had an epiphany."
Grondar nods and summons the special gift to heal Swanny's wounds. He then burns through his Bless, Hold Person and Hold Poison spells to provide more healing for the young warrioress. "I don't think I can get you completely back to peak condition now, but by tomorrow evening, we'll get you there."Aswansea wrote:"Thanks. I could use it."
"You're welcome, Lord Validar," Grondar says with a bow.Sherwood wrote:"I thank you, my dwarven friend. We welcome your continued dedication to the cause of our fine Kingdom. I am sure you will do well to make your patron proud."
Sherwood wrote:"It is not a problem to bring this shrine down with magic."
A smile comes to Grondar's weathered features. "I'll be looking forward to seeing what you two can do with the terrific power at your command."Jallarzi wrote:"Indeed, my cousin is correct. I still have numerous combat spells in memory. The close quarters of the combat limited their use to me."
It seems they do not have long to wait. A thunderous tread is heard approaching, and Grondar turns to see what is coming. A giant creature of the earth approaches, and even from a distance, Grondar can tell that there is something different about this one.Elspeth wrote:"Good to see you, my friends. We have done much good this day, but alas we will have to wait to celebrate. We must leave this place immediately! Make haste!"
He had expected to see Sherwood and Jallarzi cast spells to destroy the Shrine. However, it seems the gods have their own intentions for this place. Grondar is tempted to stand and watch, but the urgency in Elspeth's voice convinces him that there isn't time.Elspeth wrote:"It is a creature known as a Nature Elemental," Elspeth will explain as she hurries away from the shrine. Kylie:
Noting that Validar is preparing to return to where they left Po and Talia, Kylie begins to gather up the magic items that she and Lilia found. It is not long before another crisis arises.
Later that evening, Kylie does her best to provide a good meal for everyone from their supplies. Once everyone has eaten, Kylie approaches Argent. "Would you care to share spellbooks? I would love to see what I can learn from yours, and I have new spells since you last looked at mine." She will ask both Chareos and Lilia similarly about their willingness to trade spells. Fortunately, she doesn't need to sleep much...
In the morning, Kylie will ensure that she memorises an Identify so that she can help with identifying the magic items that were discovered. After breakfast, which she will happily prepare for one and all, Kylie will pack up for the trip to Rennydale. It is as good a place as any to acquire supplies for their trip to these Black Peak Mountains to search for Nightmist.
Seeing that Lilia is testing out her magically-augmented bow, Kylie wanders over to watch. "Wow. That is most impressive. Truly it is a wondrous weapon. I'm sure it will serve you well."Lilia wrote:Lilia will accept Chareos' hand and will thank him for his assistance. Once on her feet, Lilia will try to focus on what is going on around her, but fails. She absentmindedly examines her altered shortbow. She experimentally pulls the bowstring back and as she does a vague arrow-shaped green energy comes into existence. Taking aim, Lilia fires the energy arrow at the Shrine wall well away from anyone else. It strikes the wall and puts a small hole into it. Those looking on will see a broad smile on the Elf Maiden's face.
"That is wonderful, Argent!" Kylie exclaims, giving her fellow apprentice to Jallarzi a hug. "Having just gained access to a new rank of magics myself, I know how excited you must feel! Congratulations."Argent wrote:Once finished, she'll seek out her friends and tell them the great news. (Jallarzi, Kharyna, and Kylie primarily.) "I've just gained access to the 4th level of magicks! I have new spells to learn! Where's that captured spell book again?"
Kylie beams up at her mentor. "Thank you, Lady Sallavarian."Jallarzi wrote:Jallarzi will make the rounds and see if everyone is okay. She'll give each of her apprentices a hug and let them know how proud she is of them. Jallarzi will complement Argent on making it to 4th level spells.
"Thank you, Lord Validar," Kylie says with a bow, all the more notable since this is the first time she has actually referred to him as 'Lord'. "I appreciate knowing that I can call on you if the need arrises. While there is just the one of me at the moment, if you ever have need of me, I and any who join with me will gladly respond."Validar wrote:Lord Validar listens to Kylie's short speech. Based on that, it seems this short adventure has increased her maturity. He nods in her direction. "It is a noble cause, young Kylie, to be certain. I have my own desires to see the Cult of the Black Flame extinguished for all time. Should you need our assistance at any time in the future, the Guardians of the Light would make ourselves available to you if we are able."
Noting that Validar is preparing to return to where they left Po and Talia, Kylie begins to gather up the magic items that she and Lilia found. It is not long before another crisis arises.
"What is it, Elspeth?" Even as she asks, Kylie's sharp ears pick up the heavy tread moving their way. "Good gods! What is it?" she asks, her nerves beginning to fray. She sees a huge creature moving toward them, composed of the earth itself. It reminds her of the Swamp Spirit they defeated just minutes earlier, and she wonders if they will have to do so again.Elspeth wrote:"Good to see you, my friends. We have done much good this day, but alas we will have to wait to celebrate. We must leave this place immediately! Make haste!"
Kylie doesn't have to be told twice. Grabbing the last of the magic items before her, she takes off running down the path toward their previous encampment. Even that isn't far enough, as it is still within the swamp. Mounting up quickly, she gallups quickly to the edge of the swamp and a bit beyond. There, she turns and watches from a safe distance the great magic that is performed. "Is anyone else feeling kind of small right now?" she asks whatever companions are nearby.Elspeth wrote:"It is a creature known as a Nature Elemental," Elspeth will explain as she hurries away from the shrine. "What we fought before was the spirit of this land as it was tainted by the Dark One. Now that it has been cleansed, it will restore the land to what it originally was. Everything will be purified and reborn. Such a fate will happen to us should we linger!"
As evening approaches, Jallarzi provides them with her wondrous dwelling in which to spend the night. Having waited until the Nature Elemental vanished from view, she is still outside when the pegasus is noted. It is the most beautiful creature she has ever seen! It seems to be drawn to Acerion, and Kylie watches as they meet. "It's beautiful, Acerion! Is it yours?"GM Mad wrote:The group will be able to make camp a safe distance away from the swamp/forest. Acerion
Acerion:
Acerion takes Kharyna at her word and waits patiently. Finally Elspeth awakens, although her words speak of another threat looming. As everyone moves to leave the shrine, heavy footfalls are heard and Acerion witnesses the arrival of the Nature Elemental. He pauses a moment, not having fought the Spirit of the Swamp earlier, but such a marvel, even benevolent, would cause Acerion's, or another's, death just by circumstance of the work it means to accomplish.
Making sure everyone has gathered up everything and that no one is lagging, Acerion heads out quickly from the shrine. Even upon reaching the horses, there is still a need to get clear. Preparing his warhorse quickly and efficiently, he mounts up and rides out with the others.
The group will be able to make camp a safe distance away from the swamp/forest. (You can even ride further away should you desire.) Jallarzi will conjure her magical mansion and the group retires for the evening.

It seems to be drawn to Acerion, and Kylie watches as they meet. "It's beautiful, Acerion! Is it yours?"
Acerion will study it for a moment, but the winged horse seems to not be intent on going anywhere else. Acerion puts out a hand after removing his gauntlet and slowly begins to approach the magnificent animal. Kylie's question is one he can not answer with certainty, "I believe we are looking at Mystra's boon to me, lady Kylie."
Acerion will allow the pegasus to accept his approach and then he will proceed to inspect the animal. Once it is certain that the animal is comfortable, Acerion will proceed to brush down the animal and see if it's hungry. He doubts the saddle he possesses is designed properly, so after removing all of his armor and storing everything in the magical dwelling, he will attempt to ride bareback. He's not going to try anything fancy, instead just wanting to get a feel for the animal.

Argent:
Before the conversation can continue much further, Elspeth comes back to the land of the living and announces that we must leave. Once outside and seeing the giant reforming the land, Argent will say as she follows along with the others, "I'd say that it is time to depart this place once and for all."
The trip out of the swamp is a quick one and soon we're outside watching as the Nature Elemental completes its terraforming task.
Shortly after that Jallarzi conjures her mansion and we retire inside. The conversation turns to things magical as Argent will delve into the captured spell book to see what 4th level spells it has. She'll also inquire if Kharyna would like any other spells from her books in exchange for 4th levels spells.
"You are a wise man, Lord Validar", Argent grins back."Nor would I try," Validar will say with a return of the smile. "Nor would I try."

"Of course, Kylie. Here, enjoy yourself." Argent has no problem sharing spells with Chareos or Lilia as long they open their books up in return. Lilia:
The Nature Elemental shows up and everyone is quickly on the move. Lilia is helped along by Grondar and Laucian, as her body is not working as well as normal yet. She'll thank both for their help.
That evening in the Magical Mansion, Lilia will pour over the magic items using her innate magical identification abilities. Those items that elude her she will save for Kylie to check out in the morning.
Later, she'll join Kylie and Argent in their spell swapping. The Elf Maiden feels uneasy at first, but will relax as time goes by. She'll let those present examine her spell book for new magicks, while Lilia will examine theirs.
"Thank you", Lilia will say after a pause. "I'm still sorting out exactly what happened to me. Perhaps talking with a priest will help me make sense of it all. Perhaps later on under better conditions?"Grondar wrote:"Thank goodness that you are well. Please know that if there is ever anything that you would like to talk about, I am a very good listener..." Grondar says with a friendly smile.
"Indeed it is a fine weapon, comrades. A parting gift from the Father of all Elves. I can only hope that I am worthy of such a wondrous gift.""Impressive," Validar will say. "A fine weapon for an archer. I am certain you will be an even greater threat to your enemies."
Seeing that Lilia is testing out her magically-augmented bow, Kylie wanders over to watch. "Wow. That is most impressive. Truly it is a wondrous weapon. I'm sure it will serve you well."

"Perhaps", Lilia will simply say. A few hours ago she would have said more to those comments, but decides that it isn't worth it. The forest, while incredible in how it was made, pales when compared to an elven forest.Reaching stable ground with the others, Grondar gives a sigh. Turning, he watches as the Nature Elemental finishes its work. The gods have chosen well, and Grondar is pleased by the transformation that it works over this land. Either by my magic or my bow you WILL fall!
Ivy
Ivy:
Elspeth does come around with an urgent message for us to be leaving. Ivy will help Elspeth along until we reach the horse and then stay close to her during the ride out. Finally, we're out of the swamp as the giant composed of earth dramatically changes the landscape into a forest.
Before entering into the Mansion, Ivy can't help but notice Lord Acerion stepping up to a magnificent white stallion. Moving closer, Ivy notices that it has wings!
After learning that it was Mystra's Boon to Acerion, Ivy will say, "It is a magnificent creature, Lord Acerion. Truly, we have been blessed this day. First with weapons powered by our gods and now this fine steed."
Instead of joining the others inside the Mansion, Ivy will relax and watch Acerion practice with his new mount. She can't help but feel his joy from the fine mount.
"Thank Azrella!", Ivy will say in relief. "We grew up together in the orphanage. We're like sisters. I couldn't bear the thought of losing her."Others ask the same question as Kharyna examines the young priestess of Azrella. After a few moments, Kharyna leans back. "She seems to be simply sleeping. Perhaps she was more drained by the ritual than the rest of us since she was the focal point. And perhaps the deities are conversing with her still and she simply hasn't returned to our reality as yet. In any case, she seems to be fine."

"That we have. Truly, the gods were among us this day. I shall never forget this or the gifts I have received.""Is anyone else feeling kind of small right now?" Kylie asks whatever companions are nearby.
"That is one way to put it", Argent will agree. "We have seen some wondrous things this day, my friends."
For the glory of the Blue Lady!

Laucian
As Laucian watches, Lilia takes aim at the wall and effectively puts a hole in the wall. "That is a magnificent weapon."
Soon Elspeth wakes and all is well though she wakes with a warning.
Laucian helps Lilia as his comrades run for their lives. When the horses are within sight Laucian raises a hand to mouth and lets out a whistle. Starfire hears his call and is soon by his side. Seeing that none are left behind Laucian mounts his horse and turns him to a gallap toward the hills.
Upon reaching our stopping point Lau will lean down and pat his horse's flanks and then dismount watching the Nature Elementals do it's work.
"I feel about the size of an ant or gnat that was biting us at the neck in the acursed swamp."
Laucian will then sit down on the grass and watch as he says, "It is a marvel to behold. And to think moments ago this was a dismal swamp."
Later on when the dwelling is raised a peguses has come a calling and waits by patiently. "A truly magnificent beast, Lord Acerion" as Laucian looks over the winged horse from afar. "Perhaps you may want to give it a little bit of food?"
Once inside Laucian will approach Lara and say," May I have a moment of your time." Once alone he will ask her, "I have an idea that I would like to do for our friend Talia but I'm afraid our time is short. I would like to get her a shortbow and train her with it if she would allow us to do so. I think it will greatly improve her confidence in herself."
Afterwards he will seek out Lilia and say. "Back at the shrine you mentioned that you saw our father. I too saw someone as well. Though it was not the same as yours. Ehlonna spoke to me for the first time today," he says with a wide smile
Before he turns in for the night he will do his daily devotions and give thanks for Ehlonna's and her fellow gods help this day. He will thank Ehlonna for the fine weapon she has entrusted him with. And finally for her to come to his aid in the time of need.

Chareos
After helping Lilia to her feet, Chareos hears Elspeth send words of caution and warning.
"Let us get a move on then," he responds as he turns and runs for the horses.
Upon looking back Chareos watches in awe. He can't even answer Kylie's remark as he is stunned at what he sees.
Once in the dwelling Chareos will make himself useful and see to the horses. Once dinner is ready he will have his fill.
Upon hearing Kylie asking to see his tome he will reply," But just a moment," as he pulls it out of its place. "May you learn much Lady Kylie." He then places it before her and the other mages.

Sherra:
Sherra moves out quickly with everyone else once it becomes apparent that their presence is no longer needed to cleanse the remaining taint to the land. Once everyone is clear enough, she will join Laucian and any others who watch and marvel at the work the Nature Elemental performs. She will say, "I've seen so many wonders this day it's almost too much to take in."
As everyone begins to wind down for the evening, Sherra finds Chareos out tending to the horses. She approaches him and offers a helping hand. While they care for the horses, she'll ask, "I'm not sure how much down time we're going to have, and you might already be busy with studying spells, but if we can find the time, would you mind showing me how to use a staff?"
After that mouthful, Sherra will smile during the pause before she continues, "I'm looking to round out my combat effectiveness and I've seen staff wielders underestimated in a fight so often that it would be worth learning for that reason alone. Anything you could teach me would be greatly appreciated."

Now that it's all over...
KHARYNA -
Kharyna is pleased to see Elspeth regain consciousness and when she does the mage will gesture to everyone as if there never was a question that everything would be alright.
With the footfall that shakes the shrine, Kharyna understands the seriousness of Elspeth's warning and she is quickly to her feet and out of the building.
There the group sees another Spirit of the Land but this one is more like the forest and such than a swamp and it quickly goes about it's work of transforming the land.
Despite the hurried pace and obvious danger present by the work of the Nature Elemental, the group manages to assemble everyone, gather Talia and Lord Validar's henchman and get themselves all out of the swamp before anything bad happens.
"Seems our work was done for us and saved us the trouble of bringing down that horrible little shrine," Kharyna will say.
Kharyna will enter the mansion and relax, not having much involvement in the upcoming talk of plans as her group is on the way back to the Towers of Gaz. She will help Kylie with the cooking a little, if she welcomes the assistance.
Shortly after that Jallarzi conjures her mansion and we retire inside. The conversation turns to things magical as Argent will delve into the captured spell book to see what 4th level spells it has. She'll also inquire if Kharyna would like any other spells from her books in exchange for 4th levels spells.
"Let me see what you have available and maybe we can find something to swap. Afterall, you should really have a copy of the Secure Shelter spell at the very least."

Lyonessa:
Lyonessa will be in awe along with everyone else as we watch the Nature Elemental reshape the very land. She was looking forward to planting some trees and do her part, but it was not meant to be this day. She will look over and smile at Laucian, hoping she sees joy in his eyes at the sight.
Upon stopping for the night, she sees a beautiful pegasus that apparently is Mystra's boon to the paladin Acerion. She is a bit surprised, but watches as the paladin moves to befriend the glorious animal.
As the others tend to various tasks, Lyonessa will see that Kieran is doing okay since he has been quiet after having fallen under magical control of our enemies again. "We will be heading out again in the morning, but will probably return to Rennydale to resupply and say farewell to those who will be undertaking other quests," she will say to him.
Once things quiet down, Lyonessa begins working on another ballad, putting together the various events and preparing a tale wrapped around them worthy of telling. She hopes to have it composed and be able to perform it for everyone upon returning to Rennydale.

"I'm never too busy to help out a friend or comrade, Sherra. If you wish to learn I will show you as much as I can."

Laucian
As Lau watches the Nature Elemental return the land to its former glory he can't help but feel as though someone is watching. He looks around and notices Lyonessa smiling in his direction. He returns her smile with a wide smile of his own as he says, "It is one of the grandest sights I have ever seen in all my days. Isn't it beautiful?"
Later on as the evening quiets down Laucian notices Lyonessa working on something. Intrigued he sits close by and listens to her unpolished works. As she progresses in work he will say, "Your skill with song and verse is wonderful. In the Elfholds many would come to hear your ballads, for your voice is like a song bird."

Sherra:
Sherra will smile broadly upon hearing Chareos' acceptance. His comments about the staff as a weapon confirm what she believed. She will add, "It's a weapon that can often times be made from materials at hand and is typically overlooked on ocassions where daggers and swords would be noticed and confiscated."
Sherra's smile seems permanently in place as she thinks about her last statement, but she continues on, "We'll have to find a teacher to at least show us the basics. After that, I think we could spar often for our skill with it would be almost identical, at least in the beginning."

"To be honest Chareos," Sherra replies, "that is all I currently do with that short sword is carry it. It's why it stays secured to my saddlebags. We could fumble around and try to both learn together, but I would probably end up using it like an oversized dagger and undoubtably look quite silly in the process."After a few moments he will ask, " I have see that you carry a shortsword as do some of the others. Lara:
Lara will give Laucian a kiss on the cheek in appreciation of his efforts.
"That is a most thoughtful gift, Laucian", Lara will say. "But as you noted our time is short. I know that Kharyna is eager to get back to her task. If you provide the shortbow, I can train Talia in it. I am exceptionally trained in its usage. Thank you for thinking of her, my friend."Once inside Laucian will approach Lara and say," May I have a moment of your time." Lilia:
With that thought in mind, Lilia will seek out Kharyna and speak to her at a proper moment. "I have been doing some thinking, Kharyna of Mystra. Earlier I had requested that I join your band in your efforts to clear the Towers of Gaz. Upon reflection, I may have done so for all the wrong reasons. Therefore, I wish to withdraw my request at this time. I wish you well on your quest."
"Actually, I only heard his voice, Clansman", Lilia will state. "But his effect upon me was profound regardless. I now find the path that I once walked not as appealing as it was. The acquisition of magical power and might is still important, but shouldn't be how I define my life. I find myself unsure of just what I am going to do next."Afterwards he will seek out Lilia and say. "Back at the shrine you mentioned that you saw our father. I too saw someone as well. Though it was not the same as yours. Ehlonna spoke to me for the first time today," he says with a wide smile

Sherwood:
Once out of the swamp, Sherwood will turn to address the assembled group.
"My friends, our mission has come to an end. What began as an assault on the Baron of Pyris has led us to the Beleme Swamp and a confrontation with the Lord of Darkness. I've said before that this mission had become far more vast and dangerous than originally anticipated. Regardless, we have succeeded and you've all demonstrated your courage and valor."
"Now the time has come for some of us to follow different paths. From what I've gathered many of you are going to continue on with the Guardians of Light and their mission to free the Northwest lands. I wish you well on your quest."
"I know that Kharyna and her band will be returning to Gaz's Towers to carry out their own quest. This particular endeavor was just a diversion from their main mission. I also wish them well on their quest."
"My path will be to investigate the clues left behind by the Cult of the Blackflame. To that end, Kylie and I will be venturing into the Black Peak Mountains to see if we can find the elf maiden known as Nightmist."
"Both Jallarzi and myself have teleportation spells available. Kylie, we can depart on our mission at any time now. Likewise, Jallarzi can return Kharyna's band to her estate too."
"You all have my thanks and gratitude for your assistance in this endeavor."

"I would have to say that is some boon! You are a very lucky man, Acerion." Kylie can't help but wish she had one too...Acerion wrote:Acerion will study it for a moment, but the winged horse seems to not be intent on going anywhere else. Acerion puts out a hand after removing his gauntlet and slowly begins to approach the magnificent animal. Kylie's question is one he can not answer with certainty, "I believe we are looking at Mystra's boon to me, lady Kylie."
Argent wrote:"That is one way to put it", Argent will agree. "We have seen some wondrous things this day, my friends."
Kylie just nods dumbly, swept away by the moment."I feel about the size of an ant or gnat that was biting us at the neck in the acursed swamp."
Laucian will then sit down on the grass and watch as he says, "It is a marvel to behold. And to think moments ago this was a dismal swamp."
"I'm with you there, Argent, though I'm sure you'll be able to use it long before I am. If you get Sherwood to share it with you, be sure to tell me about it - always nice to have something to look forward to."Argent wrote:"Thank you, Kylie and yes, I am excited. I'd love to get my hands on that spell Sherwood used. It looks so interesting!"
Kylie smiles. "I have no doubt that you are, Lilia, else the gods would not have granted it to you." It occurs to her to wonder what makes herself unworthy of having received a similar gift. Thinking back, it seems only those enveloped in the darkness with Elspeth were granted magic weapons. She will have to consider her choices more closely in the future.Lilia wrote:"Indeed it is a fine weapon, comrades. A parting gift from the Father of all Elves. I can only hope that I am worthy of such a wondrous gift."
Argent wrote:"Of course, Kylie. Here, enjoy yourself." Argent has no problem sharing spells with Chareos or Lilia as long they open their books up in return. Argent will help in the kitchen as much as she can, but for the most part has her nose in the captured spell book learning new magicks.
Lilia wrote:Later, she'll join Kylie and Argent in their spell swapping. The Elf Maiden feels uneasy at first, but will relax as time goes by. She'll let those present examine her spell book for new magicks, while Lilia will examine theirs.
Kylie gladly accepts the help of Argent and Kharyna in making dinner. Once that is done, the mages gather for a little fun of their own. "Thank you, all of you," Kylie says excitedly as she starts to go though all of the spell books in turn. She spends the better part of the night pouring though the books and copying as many as possible into her own spell book. It proves to be an evening well spent as she learns many new spells.Chareos wrote:Upon hearing Kylie asking to see his tome he will reply," But just a moment," as he pulls it out of its place. "May you learn much Lady Kylie." He then places it before her and the other mages.
Kylie pauses to think. "It will likely take Lilia and I most of the day to identify the magic items that were discovered. Then we will need to distribute them amongst the group." Clearly, Kylie would like to be part of that distribution, though she has done well in past distributions and may not be in line to get any of the newest ones. "Are there any supplies, such as food or a pack horse, that we need to stock up on before we leave?"Sherwood wrote:"Both Jallarzi and myself have teleportation spells available. "Your words do me kind," Lyonessa replies after finishing a verse. "I would think it would be quite an honor to play to such a crowd. Maybe one day the opportunity will present itself."
Lyonessa pauses to look at Laucian, but doesn't say anything. It's not a scrutinizing gaze, but Laucian probably won't be sure what to make of it. She will smile pleasantly and turn back to her work, playfully ignoring him if he questions her further.

After dinner, Grondar encounters Acerion caring for his new flying steed. "That's quite a beautiful mount you have there, Lord Acerion. I believe that is what is known as a pegasus, is it not? I've never seen one before. It seems we've both been blessed by the gods," Grondar says, looking down at the gleeming mace hanging from his belt.
In the morning, Grondar listens as Sherwood addresses the group. "Thank you, Sherwood, for bringing us all together and setting us on this path. It has proven to be a blessing for all, I suspect."
If there is time before they depart, Grondar will Lay Hands on Aswansea again. Then, he'll expend as many spells as necessary to get everyone fully healed.

Lilia's mood seems to shift, so Grondar chooses to say no more. Having absolutely no experience with elven forests, he has no idea of the difference. Of course, a place as fresh and clean as this one could be used for many things.Lilia wrote:"Perhaps", Lilia will simply say. A few hours ago she would have said more to those comments, but decides that it isn't worth it. The forest, while incredible in how it was made, pales when compared to an elven forest.

Lord Validar -
Lord Validar listens to Kylie's short speech.
"Thank you, Lord Validar," Kylie says with a bow, all the more notable since this is the first time she has actually referred to him as 'Lord'. "I appreciate knowing that I can call on you if the need arrises. While there is just the one of me at the moment, if you ever have need of me, I and any who join with me will gladly respond."
Validar smiles back at the young lady from Elcadan. "Your offer is noted and appreciated as well, Kylie Lanthorn."
Talk quickly turns from the plans to rest and bring down this pitiful shrine of evil to evacuating it, with the arrival of the Nature Elemental.
Validar makes sure that everyone is out of the shrine, then pauses for a moment, although brief, to regard the creature and its actions. Realizing that the monster is no malevolent to them and that it will quickly take care of there immediate concerns, Validar smiles a mirthless smile and quickly follows after the rest of the group, keeping a watchful eye on the Nature Elemental, just in case.
Eventually, the group makes its way out of the Swamp and we retire within the Mancient created by Jallarzi. Lord Validar will check on his horses briefly, confident that Po treated them as needed, and will go to see to his armor and the proper care of it, now that they have left the swamp.
As Validar cleans his weapons and armor, he will take mental count of the group that will be continuing on with him. "Lords Corley and Acerion. Ivy and Grondar. Sherra, Laucian, and Charoes. The invoker Argent and the bard Lyonessa. And of course, Po and Arocken. That leaves us with twelve. We will be quite powerful in fighting and have enough clerical support with this group, but I cannot help but feel that in losing both Kylie and Lilia, we have lessened our magical abilities," Lord Validar muses to himself as he works. "Perhaps we can replace one of them in the future," the young noble will conclude.
Lord Validar does not become involved in the identification nor the dispersal of this batch of magic items, unless specifically asked. There are only 13 items plus some potions that were recovered and therefore, not everyone will receive something.
In the early morning, Validar will note the arrival of the new mount, the winged pegasus. He marvels at the creature and while not as physically as imposing and impressive as the griffons of Lady Sallavarian, he is quite the magnificent animal. Eventually, when Lord Validar learns that the steed is a gift for Lord Acerion, Validar will congratulate him on the fine animal. "He is a magnificent animal, Lord Acerion. Truly a steed fit for a paladin of Heironeous."
Things seem to be normal around the mansion. There is music thanks to Lyonessa, the mages have their noses buried in spell books, there is the familiar sound of the clash of arms in practice. Validar is pleased that the group has succeeded with no casualties. Clearly this group has been superior to the Seekers in many ways. Lord Validar wonders, "With all there is to do here and the good we have yet to do, will I ever see my former comrades in the Frontier. There were many good people there." About that time, Arocken wanders by, heading outside. Validar returns the elfin ranger's nod.
At some point, Sherwood addresses the group. He reiterates the mission and the break up of the group into three separate entities. When he mentions the teleports, Validar will direct his question to both Sherwood and Jallarzi. "Is it possible to return me briefly to Pyris in order to relate our tale and our findings to the Baron? I do not wish to lose the time on our missions for riding there or even back, but since this mission is ended, I find I must report the details to my father."
Lord Validar will also speak up to the assembled group. "I wish to offer to each of you my congratulations and my thanks. This mission indeed started with a very personal mission for myself: the attack upon my father. The rest of you all had your own various motivations for starting this task and we worked well together as we unravelled more and more of the dire plot. Needless to say, we have all grown as individuals and as a group. Now we are going in different, various directions."
"To those contnuing with me, I thank you for your support and your comradery. We have much glory and honor ahead of us. My thanks and continued good wishes go to the rest of you whose path now diverges from our own. May you continue to do good and live happy prosperous lives, until we meet again."
Lord Validar listens to Kylie's short speech.

Conquer or Die!
Lord Corley
Corley:
Lord Corley brings up the rear as the Guardians move to a quick withdrawal from the moss covered shrine. Like many of the others, he's in awe of what has transpired here this day.
Later, he will compliment Lord Acerion on his newly acquired mount. "It is a fine and noble steed, Lord Acerion. May he serve you well."
Once inside the mansion, Corley will eat the fine meal that is prepared and relax for the evening. He'll listen in on Lyonessa's work in progress, curious as to what the bard's song will say about his role in the past struggle.

We fight for King and Country!
Sherwood
Sherwood:
Turning to Kylie he'll add, "In the meantime you can carryout your tasks and spend time with your friends. I'll be arranging for a guide to meet up with us outside of Rifllian. I have someone in mind who is very familiar with that area. We can pick up supplies in Rifllian. We won't be taking mounts as they would only be a hindrance in the mountains. Magic can be used to summon temporary mounts when needed."
Sherwood considers the requests made of him. "I can take you back," he will tell Validar. "I'll return the next day to bring you back to Rennydale."Kylie pauses to think. "It will likely take Lilia and I most of the day to identify the magic items that were discovered. Then we will need to distribute them amongst the group." Clearly, Kylie would like to be part of that distribution, though she has done well in past distributions and may not be in line to get any of the newest ones. "Are there any supplies, such as food or a pack horse, that we need to stock up on before we leave?"
At some point, Sherwood addresses the group. He reiterates the mission and the break up of the group into three separate entities. Argent
Argent:
"That would be wonderful!", Argent agrees. "Fortunately, I was able to learn the Secure Shelter spell from the group's captured spellbook, so that was most welcomed. I was not eager to sleep on the cold, snow covered ground. Actually, I would be more interested in that spell that Sherwood used during the battle. Or any other invocation magic you may have."Kharyna wrote:"Let me see what you have available and maybe we can find something to swap. After all, you should really have a copy of the Secure Shelter spell at the very least."
"Given my interest in Magic Missile, its only natural that I'd want to get that one too. From the looks of it, it appears to be similar to Magic Missile, except that the missiles also explode upon impact. Right up my alley!"Kylie wrote:"I'm with you there, Argent, though I'm sure you'll be able to use it long before I am. If you get Sherwood to share it with you, be sure to tell me about it - always nice to have something to look forward to."
"This brings back some memories," Argent will say as she and Kylie and Kharyna work to prepare dinner. Back in the day when they were all apprentices, learning to cook was part of Jallarzi's lessons. Many hours were spent working in the kitchens. Now it makes sense as some of the aspects of a mage required cooking skills-- the brewing of potions, creation of magical inks, and whatnot. Not to mention combat skills when it came to fending Edwina off from eating everything!Kylie gladly accepts the help of Argent and Kharyna in making dinner. Once that is done, the mages gather for a little fun of their own. "Thank you, all of you," Kylie says excitedly as she starts to go though all of the spell books in turn. She spends the better part of the night pouring though the books and copying as many as possible into her own spell book. It proves to be an evening well spent as she learns many new spells.
I am an Invoker of no small power.

Post Continued:
The group relaxes in Jallarzi's Magical Mansion located nearby the newly grown forest. Outside it, Lord Acerion is befriending the Pegasus that showed up from seemingly out of nowhere.
The animal shows no fear at his approach and will allow itself to be touched and brushed. Once close enough, it will rub up against Acerion's arm to show its affection.
Looking at the way the wings emerge from the horse's flanks, Acerion concludes that a regular saddle will not work on the Pegasus. The wings are in the way.
The ride is exhilarating and a bit chilly. The Pegasus flies quite fast, nearly twice as fast as a fast running horse. The animal doesn't make wild turns and banks, and Acerion finds it easy to hold on. He quickly gets the hang of the flying mount.
Next morning, the group is on the move once more. The ride towards Rennydale continues. The day will end before Rennydale is reached and Jallarzi will create another Mansion for the night.
On the following day, Elspeth and Jallarzi will say their goodbyes. Elspeth thanks everyone personally and gives them her blessing on their future endeavors. Lady Sallavarian teleports both of them back to Elcadan.
(Kharyna and Co. can depart at this time or wait and have Sherwood teleport them back later on. Your call.)
Sherwood also departs, but will return shortly. He takes Validar with him and will leave him at the family castle in Pyris before carrying on with his own tasks.
The Baron appears to have fully recovered from affliction he was suffering from. He is up and in charge of the Barony once more. He'll be greatly interested in Validar's tale and what transpired up in Rennydale.
The Lady Ardel is still at Pyris Castle and is eager for any good news regarding her homeland.

Chareos
Later that night Chareos studies his spells and commits them to memory. After doing so Chareos goes to sleep.
The next Day Chareos begins to relax for a while on the hills but then quickly recalls his promise to Sherra. Rising he seeks her out and asks her. "Tis a fine day, And I was wondering if you didn't have any prior commitments, would you care to start training?"
When the news of the items properties becomes known Chareos will make his wishes known.
"I know there is not many items to go amongst us all which is most unfortunate. I was hoping that I could acquire one of the following: The bracers or the ring of protection would be greatly prized by me. The battle of Rennydale proved this when one of the trolls wounded me gravely. If it would please those who are interested I would gladly give up my Girdle of Strength for one such an item.
When it is known that Elspeth and Jallazari will be departing the group he will approach them both and say his goodbyes to them. "It was a pleasure seeing you both again. I did not think the time would depart so quickly... Let us hope the next time is under better circumstances," he says with an easy smile. He will then wish them luck on their future endevours.

Acerion
Acerion:
Later on when the dwelling is raised a peguses has come a calling and waits by patiently. "A truly magnificent beast, Lord Acerion" as Laucian looks over the winged horse from afar. "Perhaps you may want to give it a little bit of food?"
"It is indeed, friend Laucian," Acerion will call back, "and seeing if it was hungry is definitely what I had in mind as well."
After learning that it was Mystra's Boon to Acerion, Ivy will say, "It is a magnificent creature, Lord Acerion. Truly, we have been blessed this day. First with weapons powered by our gods and now this fine steed."
"Indeed we have and it is quite a magnificent animal," Acerion will say. "I knew not exactly how Mystra was going to honor my boon, but I see it is in a way truly astonishing."
Instead of joining the others inside the Mansion, Ivy will relax and watch Acerion practice with his new mount. She can't help but feel his joy from the fine mount.
After getting a bit accustomed to riding the pegasus, he looks over and spots Ivy watching him. He smiles at her for as long as he dares, turning his attention back to the task at hand.
"Yes it is a pegasus, and until now I have not seen one so close," Acerion will reply. "Indeed we have all been blessed by our deeds this day, in more ways than I would have even dreamed to ask for."
"Thank you for the kind words, Lord Validar. Now let us only hope a paladin of Heironeous is a fitting rider for such a magnificent steed," Acerion will reply with a laugh.
Looking at the way the wings emerge from the horses flanks, Acerion concludes that a regular saddle will not work on the Pegasus.
Upon examing the pegasus further, he confirms his suspicion about the saddle issue. That will be something he will need to look into further. The pegasus gives him a taste of flying, but is kind enough not to make it too stressful for his first time out. He finds he gets the hang of it pretty easily, but knows a leisurely flight is not like being airborne in combat, and he is also currently without any armor or heavy weapons. He will have to continue to investigate each of these concerns in turn. However one thing that is immediately important Acerion brings up upon landing. "Now just what name should we call you?" Acerion asks the pegasus. "Something noble and fitting of your upbringing." He, of course, doesn't expect an answer, and it is something he needs to spend some time thinking on.
Acerion makes sure to find the time to say goodbye to Elspeth, as well as Jallarzi. He will say, "I am not sure when we shall meet again, lady Elspeth, but I look forward to that time."
Acerion shows no interest in any of the magical items. He has received far more out of the quest than he could have ever hoped. He will continue to spend time with both his warhorse and the pegasus, and make sure they will get along with each other. He will also seek out Ivy during a quieter time in the evening and ask her to sit with him outside to enjoy the night air free of the gloom of evil that had plagued the land.

a friendly duel...
Sherra:
"It is a nice day," Sherra replies. "I couldn't think of a better day to get all bruised and battered." Sherra says the last with an easy smile. Sherra will pay attention to everything Chareos has to tell her and follows him through the beginning manuevers. The next Day Chareos begins to relax for a while on the hills but then quickly recalls his promise to Sherra. Rising he seeks her out and asks her. "Tis a fine day, And I was wondering if you didn't have any prior commitments, would you care to start training?"
Quick Exit, Stage Right
Kylie:
"While I look forward to travelling with Uncle Sherwood and unravelling the mystery of Nightmist, it saddens me to be parted from you all. I know that I will miss every one of you and can only pray that we will meet again. The road ahead of you will be challenging, but I know that you will rise to the challenge and overcome it." Kylie doesn't say anything about her own road, as she is less certain of her own ability to succeed.
Once they reach Rennydale, Kylie will take the time to look around the city. On their previous visit, they had only seen it from the outside, entering only the castle, and that by force of arms. If any of the other women are interested in joining her for some shopping, Kylie will get their input on a new dress. She has never owned a truly nice or beautiful dress, and she has a desire to correct that oversight. If she learned anything from her abortive romance with Lord Corley, it's that she may need to pay more attention to her appearance.
When it comes time for Jallarzi and Elspeth to leave, Kylie sees them off. She gives them both a hug, though she lingers a bit with her mentor. "It was wonderful to see you again, Jallarzi," she says. "It has been such a short time; I'm sad to see you again. I wish we could have spent more time together."
Later in the day, Kylie will approach Lilia. "Hi Lilia," she says. "It occurred to me that I had not heard where you were headed after this. I just want you to know that you would be very welcome to come with Sherwood and I. It would mean a lot to me to have a friend to talk and learn with. Sherwood's a nice man, but he has so many other concerns that he can be hard to talk to. It would also be an opportunity to learn more about the elven side of my heritage; I know so little about my mother's people. What do you say? Imagine what we could learn from the elven sorceress Nightmist if we find her!"
When the issue of dispersing the magic items come up, Kylie has her eye on the Bracers. However, she has to admit that Chareos would be a more appropriate recipient. She will let it be know that she would be interested in either the Ring, the Brooch or the Boots. If those are all claimed by others, she would like one of the Potions of Healing. Having received many enchanted items in the past, she acknowledges that she should have a low priority in the picking.
When Validar concludes his address to the group, Kylie will speak up. "I would like to thank you, Lord Validar, and all of the rest of you for allowing me to participate in this adventure. What we managed to accomplish is vastly beyond anything I might have imagined at the outset. I have learned much - both about myself and the world beyond Elcadan - and made some wonderful new friends.Validar wrote:Lord Validar will also speak up to the assembled group.
"Thank you, Sherwood," Kylie says with a happy grin. "A guide? That's wonderful, Sherwood! It will be so nice to have another person along to talk with and to help us find our way. I'll be ready to leave as soon as you return from Pyris."Sherwood wrote:Turning to Kylie he'll add, "In the meantime you can carry out your tasks and spend time with your friends.
Kylie laughs. "Yes, I can see that. You always have liked to make a bang. I can remember how you loved to light up the night sky with Pyrotechnics when I first came to learn from Jallarzi."Argent wrote:"Given my interest in Magic Missile, its only natural that I'd want to get that one too. From the looks of it, it appears to be similar to Magic Missile, except that the missiles also explode upon impact. Right up my alley!"
Kylie nods, smiling, but a tear begins to grow in her eye. "It has been so great getting to be with you two again," Kylie says to Argent and Kharyna, the rattle of emotion in her voice. "I watched you two leave Jallarzi's at your own times and wondered if I would ever see you again. And now here we are, and we're splitting up and going our own ways again. It seems as if this must be our destiny. I'm going to miss you both so much," Kylie says, hugging each of her fellow apprentices in turn.Argent wrote:"This brings back some memories," Argent will say as she and Kylie and Kharyna work to prepare dinner. Back in the day when they were all apprentices, learning to cook was part of Jallarzi's lessons. Many hours were spent working in the kitchens. Now it makes sense as some of the aspects of a mage required cooking skills-- the brewing of potions, creation of magical inks, and whatnot. Not to mention combat skills when it came to fending Edwina off from eating everything!

Grondar:
The exchanges between Validar and Kylie are observed by the lone dwarf in the party. He can see that they are both maturing, which he notes with a pleased smile and a nod.
In the evening, Grondar spends some time listening to Lyonessa's music. It is pleasant and soothing, and helps him to relax before his evening devotions.
Fortunately, the trip to Rennydale proves uneventful. It is good to see that the Baron has come through his trials with no apparent lasting harm. Grondar will check in with him just to make sure that he has no further need of medical attention. Afterwards, he wanders both the castle and the city looking for any other dwarves. Otherwise he will chat with anyone who seems so inclined. At the same time, he makes sure that he is not too hard to find, should Lilia desire his attention.
As he wanders about, he comes upon Chareos and Sherra engaged in practice combat. Grondar pauses to watch and give encouragement. He isn't trained in the weapons they use but will provide general advice if asked.
Eventually, the subject of the magic items comes up. None of them are of great interest to him, but a few would be useful. "I am capable of fully using the Staff of Command, so that would be one option. Any of the Cloak, the Brooch or the Ring would be beneficial. Having one of the Flails might give me a reason to learn to use it. Otherwise, a Potion of Invisibility could be both fun and useful. Any of these would be fine; I'm not terribly picky."

nearly forgot a few things..
Sherra:
As Kylie speaks about leaving, Sherra remembers that her friend Talia will be leaving soon also, and neither of them have spent much time together since she returned. Still, that does not mean she ignores Kylie, and after she has done speaking, Sherra approachs her. "I know we haven't spent much time together, but it saddens me to see you go," Sherra will say. "Everyone that is leaving saddens me, but we all have our quests, personal or otherwise, that place us on different roads from time to time. I have a feeling everyone will run into each other again in the future as I believe our paths will have reason to cross. I look forward to those times, but until then, I hope your new adventure is enjoyable and your quest successful."
Sherra will track down Talia and see if she needs any help getting things ready to go. At first she doesn't really have anything to say, as everything feels awkward. Bonding with her fellow thief occured on a level Sherra has never experienced before. Finally, she'll admit just that, "I really don't want you to go Talia, but I understand. Basically the same reason I won't be joining you. It will still be hard, wondering what kind of adventure would have awaited me if I joined, but I believe in the cause that Validar is undertaking, and so I need to see it through. I'll just have to be patient until the next time we meet and we can share all the fantastic tales I know we'll both accumulate."
Sherra tries to keep her easy smile in place, but it's becoming increasingly harder. She reaches down and unbuckles the leather straps on one of her wrists and removes a brace of throwing knives. Wrapping them together into a tiny bundle, she hands them to Talia. "These are from my old days as a pirate, one of the few things I have from that time so long ago," Sherra will explain. "May they protect you like they have me. Oh, and no protesting," Sherra will say, her smile showing through without hesitation, "I have plenty more to replace those. I never believe a woman can have too many weapons." She will laugh easily and enjoy her friend's company for the little time that remains.
A few of the others begin to voice their opinions and choices about the magical items retrieved once all of them have finally been identified. The list is quite impressive, but only a few things are even of any use to her. "I'm guessing we're going to destroy this dagger of Venom as well?" Sherra asks, although she already knows what the answer will be. "As far as the other items, the Cloak of Displacement would be extremely useful. Other than that, maybe one of the Potions of Invisibility. Besides those, it doesn't matter to me. We could always sell the extra weapons or keep them like we had before. I notice we haven't hauled in too much actual gold lately and I'm sure some of us either now, or sometime soon, might need a little spending money in one of these towns."

Argent:
Argent will lead the way in finding a dress for Kylie and will cover the cost if need be. (She has plenty of $$ from her Company of the Sword days.) She'll also give Kylie some pointers on aiding her personal appearance by way of Cantrips. Personal cleanliness, hair styling and coloring, and make up.
On the subject of magic items, Argent would be very interested in the Bracers, but realizes that they should probably go to someone who is more involved in direct combat like Chareos can be. Given her habit of not getting into the thick of things, the most useful items to her would be the Cloak of Displacement or the Broach of Shielding. Nothing else really attracts her attention.
"Oh, I'm sure that we'll run into each other again, Kylie. Each of us plans to stop in and visit Jallarzi when able, so our paths are bound to cross again. I wish there was more time to spend and simply chat, but unfortunately we don't have that luxury at this time. Those unfortunates who were controlled by the Black Water might now be freed, but whatever plots they started are still out there. Lots to do."Kylie nods, smiling, but a tear begins to grow in her eye. "It has been so great getting to be with you two again," Kylie says to Argent and Kharyna, the rattle of emotion in her voice. "I watched you two leave Jallarzi's at your own times and wondered if I would ever see you again. And now here we are, and we're splitting up and going our own ways again. Argent will be happy to go along on the shopping trip. "I'm not sure of the kind of quality we're going find here in Rennydale, but I can help. Besides, it'll be fun!"Once they reach Rennydale, Kylie will take the time to look around the city. Lilia
Lilia:
Having not made many friends with the current group, Lilia will only say goodbye to a few. Primarily Lara, Laucian, Chareos, and Arocken. She will thank Grondar for his council.
During the second night in the Mansion, Lilia will have her chat with Grondar about her recent epiphany.
When it comes to the magic items, those around will note a change in the Elf Maiden. "With the gift of the Manabow by the Father of All Elves, these items do not have much appeal to me now. Let those who desire something stake their claims first. I will see if anything left interests me after that."
The Elf Maiden considers for a moment young Kylie's offer. "I really had not decided where I was going to go. I changed my mind and declined to go with Kharyna as I originally planned. Yes, I will go with you. As you noted, I can help you understand your elven heritage and this Nightmist does sound intriguing. There is much to be learned from Sherwood as well. When do we leave?"Later in the day, Kylie will approach Lilia. "Hi Lilia," she says. "It occurred to me that I had not heard where you were headed after this. I just want you to know that you would be very welcome to come with Sherwood and I. It would mean a lot to me to have a friend to talk and learn with. Ivy
Ivy:
After the mansion is created, Ivy will go inside and clean herself up. Being dumped in swamp water does not do wonders for one's appearance! Her wet garments will be set aside to dry and she will wash up. After slipping into her spare dress, Ivy will set out once more.
Ivy will make a point to say her goodbye to Elspeth and Lady Sallavarian. No doubt we shall meet again down the road.
Kylie will be given a hug before she goes. "Until we meet again, my friend. May the Blue Lady watch over you and your comrades."
When the subject of magic items comes up, Ivy will decline. "My friends, I was given the finest weapon that Azrella could give me. A Holy Weapon of my order. No finer gift could I ever hope to possess. May those who take these gifts prosper from them."

"That is a most thoughtful gift, Laucian", Lara will say. "But as you noted our time is short. I know that Kharyna is eager to get back to her task. If you provide the shortbow, I can train Talia in it. I am exceptionally trained in its usage. Thank you for thinking of her, my friend."
Lara will give Laucian a kiss on the cheek in appreciation of his efforts.
Laucian's face begins to redden, he smiles and says, "You are welcome, Lara. I just wish our time wasn't so short. I have come to enjoy all of your company."
Lyonessa wrote:
"Your words do me kind," Lyonessa replies after finishing a verse. "I would think it would be quite an honor to play to such a crowd. Maybe one day the opportunity will present itself."
Lyonessa pauses to look at Laucian, but doesn't say anything. It's not a scrutinizing gaze, but Laucian probably won't be sure what to make of it. She will smile pleasantly and turn back to her work,
Laucian smiles back and says, "As it would be an honor to hear of your Ballads." Looking down for a moment then he raises his gaze, "Though I do not think it may happen, more so that it will happen."
When word is heard that Kylie, Lilia, Elspeth and Jallazari will be leaving soon, he approaches each in turn and wishs them well on their travels and adventures.
Turning to Lilia as well as Kylie, "It has been a pleasure meeting and getting to know you both in our endeavors, I hope in time we will meet again." He will then in turn give each a kiss on their hands." I will pray for your safety where ever you are. Safe journeys."
Once In Rennydale Laucian will seek out a Bowyer shop and find an adequate shortbow. Once he satisfied with the bow he will also purchase a quiver with 15 arrows.
When the matter of items springs forth laucian will reply, "Ehlonna has granted me a fine weapon of her making. I have all I need, please enjoy these items, gifts."

When the discussion of magic items reaches her ears, Lyonessa will make her choice known. "The only thing from that horde of items that I would like would be the magical mace. It is far superior to my current one, which we could then sell or keep. There are other items I'm sure I could use, like the boots, cloak, bracers, ring or broach, but many of the others have expressed interest in those items as well. Seeing Sherra's smile, Grondar returns it with one of his own. He continues to observe as she and Chareos spar. His patience being greater than their endurance, he is still there when they finish. "Well done, my friends," he says with a smile as he rises and approaches. "The breadth and depth of the skills in this group never fail to amaze me. We are truly blessed to be part of such an assemblage."
When Lilia chooses to come to him, she finds a patient and willing ear. Grondar is glad to hear of the changes in the young elf's perspective, but does not denigrate her past position in any way. Instead, he encourages her to continue to follow her path, to be open to where it leads, and to not worry about possible missteps. If she moves forward with courage and hope, the gods will see to it that she doesn't go astray.
In truth, Grondar feels some misgivings that so many of his comrades seem disinclined to accept or ask for any of the spare magic items due to having received new weapons from the gods. It has always been his belief, and that of his order, that there are many ways to resolve issues other than with weapons. He believes that weapons should be a last resort when it is clear that other means will not work. For many types of problems, weapons are not a productive approach at all. Still, it is hard not to be overwhelmed by the generosity of the gods in this instance.
Looking about, Grondar notes that many have not stated any preference regarding the enchanted goods. "It seems many of you haven't yet stated your thoughts on these items. Lords Validar and Corley, Arocken and Po, what are your desires in this matter? Kharyna, Aswansea, Lara and Talia, do you see anything here that you would like?"

"You are right, of course, Argent. It is great having two big sisters who are so smart and wonderful. The parting makes me sad, but perhaps the future meeting will be that much sweeter."Argent wrote:"Oh, I'm sure that we'll run into each other again, Kylie. Lots to do."
Kylie is glad to have Argent along for the shopping, as well as the womanly advice. Kylie is willing to spend up to 30 gold crowns for the new dress, but agrees with Argent that they are unlikely to find anything that fine, and she doesn't have time to have anything specially made. Perhaps some day, though.Argent will be happy to go along on the shopping trip. "I'm not sure of the kind of quality we're going find here in Rennydale, but I can help. Besides, it'll be fun!"
"That's wonderful!" Kylie replies excitedly. "Thank you! You have greatly increased my pleasure and confidence in this mission. According to Sherwood, we'll leave after he returns with Validar from Pyris. He's going to teleport us to Rifflian, wherever that is. Apparently, he's arranging a guide to meet us there who knows the area. I can only imagine that will be a great help."Lilia wrote:The Elf Maiden considers for a moment young Kylie's offer. "I really had not decided where I was going to go. I changed my mind and declined to go with Kharyna as I originally planned. Yes, I will go with you. As you noted, I can help you understand your elven heritage and this Nightmist does sound intriguing. There is much to be learned from Sherwood as well. When do we leave?"
"Thank you, Ivy," Kylie replies. "I'm sorry we didn't get much chance to get to know one another better, but I will certainly look forward to the day that we meet again. I wish you luck in keeping this unruly and ill-mannered lot in line," she says with a mischievous smirk.Ivy wrote:Kylie will be given a hug before she goes. "Until we meet again, my friend. May the Blue Lady watch over you and your comrades."
Kylie blushes. She stammers for a moment before regaining her wits. "Thank you, Laucian. It has been a pleasure for me as well. I will forward to meeting up with you again. Until then, keep yourself well and I pray the gods will smile on you."Laucian wrote:When word is heard that Kylie, Lilia, Elspeth and Jallazari will be leaving soon, he approaches each in turn and wishs them well on their travels and adventures.
Turning to Lilia as well as Kylie, "It has been a pleasure meeting and getting to know you both in our endeavors, I hope in time we will meet again." He will then in turn give each a kiss on their hands." I will pray for your safety where ever you are. Safe journeys."

Magic Items
Lord Validar -
Validar will address the group. "I have chatted with Sherwood briefly and he suggested that since the magic items are not enough major items for us all and there are many who received great boons from their patrons, that I should dispense them and save us the time for other more important things."
"I think he is wise in this regard and therefore, I will do so."
When the discussion of magic items reaches her ears, Lyonessa will make her choice known. "The only thing from that horde of items that I would like would be the magical mace. It is far superior to my current one, which we could then sell or keep."
"Very well, Lyonessa. The mace is yours. You may want to give it a good cleaning considering who used it previously," Lord Validar says with a smile as he hands it to her.
Lord Validar will place his hand on the young fighter-mage's shoulder as he hands him the Bracers. "You have no reason to give up what you already have since they are not a duplicated item. The Girdle is yours and judging by your bravery to jump into combat, it will be well used in the future. Perhaps these will help with your defenses."
When the issue of dispersing the magic items come up, Kylie has her eye on the Bracers. However, she has to admit that Chareos would be a more appropriate recipient. She will let it be know that she would be interested in either the Ring, the Brooch or the Boots.
"Since you agree that Chareos would be the best for the Bracers and the Boots are an item only Sherra and you can use and Sherra already has magical boots, it only makes sense that these should be yours, Kylie Lanthorn. Use them well on your quests."
"In addition, Chareos mentioned to me that his bracers are also magical and while equal to Kylie's, they are better than Lyonessa's, so he has generously offered them to you, priestess of Mystra."
"Indeed, while Chareos would make best use of the bracers, the Cloak would be fitting for you, Argent the Invoker. As one of the few mages continuing on with the Guardians, your protection is paramount. Accept the Cloak and use it well."
Other than that, maybe one of the Potions of Invisibility."
"Yes, Sherra. We should destroy the Daggar of Venom. Perhaps Jallarzi can take care of that for us or perhaps Sherwood. Leaving it behind would have solved the problem, but that is no longer an option. As for your choice, you may as well take both of the Potions of invisibility. You can put them to the best use. The Potions of Healing should go one to Arocken for safekeeping and one to Kharyna's group."
Eventually, the subject of the magic items comes up. None of them are of great interest to him, but a few would be useful. "I am capable of fully using the Staff of Command, so that would be one option."
"It is a good choice, then, my dwarven friend. The Staff of Command is yours. I am sure it will have many uses for you."
Lord Validar will offer the Ring of Protection to the leader of one of the other groups. "Kharyna of Mystra, your group was instrumental in our achieving this task. I think it is only right that you should benefit from our spoils. Please accept this Ring for your defenses in your upcoming quests."
Arocken would be able to use the shield and asks for that. Therefore, Validar awards him that. Po has magic armor and shield already and therefore asks for nothing.
"Seeing as how I was 'killed' by the mad mage Wendelaine in the Frontier by magic missiles, I would like to claim the Broach of Shielding for myself. It has a sort of ironic twist to it, provided no one objects?" If there are no objections, then Validar will claim the item.
"By my count, that leaves us with 2 flails and 2 longswords. Does anyone have need of these?", Validar will ask. Lord Validar will give one of the longswords to Lord Corley. "I know that you use your two-handed sword more often, but a back-up magic weapon is always helpful."
"Gwenith, I thank you for you assistance in this mission as well. As such, please accept this magical longsword for your use. I know you will use it well in defense of Rennydale and your Lord Cavius."
"As for the flails, Grondar did indicate that he may have interest in one. Please pick your choice. Anyone who wishes the other may take it."

LORD VALIDAR -
Sherwood considers the requests made of him. "I can take you back," he will tell Validar. "I'll return the next day to bring you back to Rennydale."
"I thank you for your offer, Sherwood. Your assistance will be most appreciated in this instance," Lord Validar will say. "Having a day to confer with the Baron and update everyone on our success will be extremely helpful."
"He is a magnificent animal, Lord Acerion. Truly a steed fit for a paladin of Heironeous."
"Thank you for the kind words, Lord Validar. Now let us only hope a paladin of Heironeous is a fitting rider for such a magnificent steed," Acerion will reply with a laugh.
"I should think that you two will do well together. It seems our paladin is no 'mere' warrior afterall. The fact this animal is here should be proof of that," Lord Validar will say. "I think it is becoming more obvious that you are special, Lord Acerion, and are destined for greatness."
When Validar concludes his address to the group, Kylie will speak up. "I would like to thank you, Lord Validar, and all of the rest of you for allowing me to participate in this adventure. What we managed to accomplish is vastly beyond anything I might have imagined at the outset. I have learned much - both about myself and the world beyond Elcadan - and made some wonderful new friends.
Validar listens to the young girl and the words she speaks are not ones she would have spoken on the day they met. He smiles slightly as she concludes her speech. He nods in her direction.
Validar will say his goodbyes to his cousin, the Lady Sallavarian, as well as to the healer Elspeth. "Your presence and you assistance were both vital and well received, my ladies. May all be well with each of you until our next meeting."
Validar will then address his teammates and say a short goodbye as well. "I suppose we will meet up with all of you tomorrow in Rennydale. Enjoy this brief respite for soon, we ride for Corunglain and I am sure much more challenges."

Kharyna of Mystra -
With that thought in mind, Lilia will seek out Kharyna and speak to her at a proper moment.
Kharyna will listen to Lilia's comments. "Thank you, Lilia. We all wish you well also. I am sure you have your reasons, and I shall not question them. Good luck."
Sherwood - "I know that Kharyna and her band will be returning to Gaz's Towers to carry out their own quest. This particular endeavor was just a diversion from their main mission. I also wish them well on their quest."
"The same to you, Sherwood. We were glad to help. Jallarzi asked for our assistance and we were only too ready to help. Besides, we needed a break from those towers anyway. Now, we'll be ready to get back to them."
"This brings back some memories," Argent will say as she and Kylie and Kharyna work to prepare dinner. Back in the day when they were all apprentices, learning to cook was part of Jallarzi's lessons. Many hours were spent working in the kitchens.
"Indeed it does. Just like the old days."
It proves to be an evening well spent as she learns many new spells.
Kharyna will swap a few more spells with Argent while they peruse the spell books. Her own list is fairly long and therefore, there are only a handful that she is interested in adding.
Or any other invocation magic you may have."
"Have a look. I know we exchanged a few some time ago. Perhaps there are some additional spells you may find useful."
Kharyna and her band will be leaving with Sherwood, the day after Elspeth and Jallarzi leave. That way they have one more day to spend relaxing and enjoy the company of new friends. She wishes everyone well and thanks them for the comraderie. "Good luck to all of you."

Talia
Talia:
The Dark Haired thief is relieved when the adventurers return to collect the horses. Alas, it is not an occasion to chat as there seems to be giant monster on the loose! Things settle down after the harrowing ride through the swamp and safety is reached.
Later on, Talia speaks to Sherra in private...
Tears will start to well up in Talia's eyes and she'll give her friend a large hug. "I'll cherish them, Sherra and think of you each time I use them." Talia will attach the harness to her left arm.
Talia's content to simply chat away what little times remains.
Later, Talia is momentarily shocked when Grondar speaks to her.

Later on, Talia speaks to Sherra in private...
Talia can only agree with Sherra. "I feel much the same way. Alas, we both seem to have different roads to follows. Yours above ground with Validar, and mine underground with Kharyna. Tasks that each of us are better suited for."Sherra will track down Talia and see if she needs any help getting things ready to go. At first she doesn't really have anything to say, as everything feels awkward. Bonding with her fellow thief occurred on a level Sherra has never experienced before.
Talia is unsure just what Sherra is doing at first until she hands the items to her. "I can't accept this…", she starts to say until she is cut off.Sherra tries to keep her easy smile in place, but it's becoming increasingly harder.

Talia's content to simply chat away what little times remains.
Later, Talia is momentarily shocked when Grondar speaks to her.
"Uhm, no thank you. There's not really anything there I could use. Let someone who did more have the reward."Looking about, Grondar notes that many have not stated any preference regarding the enchanted goods. "It seems many of you haven't yet stated your thoughts on these items. Lords Validar and Corley, Arocken and Po, what are your desires in this matter? Kharyna, Aswansea, Lara and Talia, do you see anything here that you would like?"
I shall find the safest path.
Swanny
Swanny:
After coming back to her senses and changing out of her armor, Swanny will go forth to mingle.
She spots Acerion with his pegasus and will have to be impressed. "Its perhaps the most beautiful animal I have ever seen. Much like his handler", Swanny will add with a mischievous smile before departing.
Walking around, she stumbles upon Chareos and Sherra sparing with each other. First with quarterstaffs and then with short swords.
"Oh, you crazy kids! From the looks of it, neither one of you knows how to use that kind of blade. Here, let Auntie Swanny help you out. Luckily for you, I've been trained in the usage of all types of swords."
Drawing her own shortsword, Swanny will show it to her new students. "Okay, a shortsword is a lot like a long dagger. In fact, it’s a dagger that's so long it can no longer be wielded like a dagger. It's a thrusting weapon that you use with one hand."
"Its operation is pretty simple. Typically you would have a shield or another sword in your offhand if the shortsword is your primary weapon. I myself use it mainly as my secondary weapon when not using a shield. The shortsword is a thrusting weapon. Use your shield or primary weapon to block an attack and then you step in to the thrust, putting your weight behind it. That's really all there is to it."
"To sum up: the shortsword, easy to learn to use, a lifetime to master."

Kharyna of Mystra -
Kylie nods, smiling, but a tear begins to grow in her eye. I'm going to miss you both so much," Kylie says, hugging each of her fellow apprentices in turn.
Kharyna returns the warm hug of her fellow ex-apprentice with one of her own. "Each life's path is a tangled web, which sometimes takes us away from one another and sometimes brings us together. Usually each when we least expect it. Being apart does not diminish the strength of the relationship unless you let other things become more important. For now we each have our own destinies, each of which take us in different directions. Remember the good times and keep our freindships fresh in your mind."
Kharyna will go into Rennydale on the shoppin excursion with Kylie and Argent, although she really isn't looking for anything for herself. She will keep an eye out for any jewelers of course!
Lord Validar will offer the Ring of Protection to the leader of one of the other groups. "Kharyna of Mystra, your group was instrumental in our achieving this task. I think it is only right that you should benefit from our spoils. Please accept this Ring for your defenses in your upcoming quests."
Kharyn accepts the Ring of Protection. "Why thank you, Lord Validar. This is certainly a wonderful item and I am sure it will indeed be most helpful. It is too bad our time together has been for such a short time, for I also believe in your quests. Had I not already been committed to Mystra and our holy quest, then I would most likely continue with you and see what other spoils there would be to be had. Unfortunately, that is not possible at this time," Kharyna responds with an easy smile at the large warrior. Later, she will give Lara her own current Ring of Protection +2, using this one in it's place.
