Crucible #33 - "The Search for Goldstar"


Roll Call: Eldritch, Lily, & Serena


Lily back at the Castle:

"I can certainly understand why that would be shocking. My first change was into a bear, and I really didn't know what was going on then! I'm sure that as you get more familiar with what you can do, you'll find its kind of fun."

"Wow, that does sound real shocking. Changing into animals must be cool!" Bullet will continue to fly around and play with Rose.

"Oh! I'm sorry, Yu. I didn't know that. Don't worry, no one here will try to make you go."

"All mean there", Yu will add, but becoming a bit more at ease. He's even happier to go into hiding and stretch his pseudo pods throughout the castle.

"I'm sorry, Rose, but no. I need you to stay here." Lily gives Rose that sympathetic look that mothers are so good at.

"Awww...", Rose will complain. "I don't get to have any fun!"

"Why don't you introduce Bullet to Dr. Marin and Edgar. I'm sure they can help him learn quite a bit about his new abilities. Then you two can practice using your powers here on the island. However, I don't want you leaving the island until I return. Okay?"

"They already looked at him", Rose explains. "Oh-kay... I'll stay here." Rose pouts a bit, but is once again flying around with Bullet and all seems forgotten.


The Foundry:

Lily notes that most of the debris is on the inside of the building, indicating that something broke in, not out. Furthermore, there seem to be skid marks on the sidewalk leading up to the hole. They suggest that something backed up to the building and then pealed out when it drove away.

Lily's sharp feline noise will pick up the scent of several men and the smell of machine oil leading into the building. All remains quiet inside the Foundry.

Cautiously, the trio moves into the Foundry. There is an obvious trail of destruction leading from the hole and it moves deeper into the base. Whatever it was that made the hole, it was quite large. Ceilings are damaged in spots and doorways were forcibly made wider by its passage.

Even more ominous, 3 toed footprints have been dug into the floor with the things passage. It has two front toes and one rear toe. Lily can smell machine oil from the footprints.

Lily doesn't travel too much further before coming to a halt. She can smell men up ahead and can hear voices, but they are too far away to clearly make out.

There is a hallway up ahead that intersects with other hallways. The men seem to be down one of the connecting hallways. About forty feet away there is a gaping hole in the wall and it doesn't appear that there was one there before. There is a hallway perpendicular to this opening and if Lily were to venture a guess, the men are down that hallway.

Roll Call: Blackout, Frostbite, Polaris, and White Crane


Previously:

"Perhaps that's our missing Steel. Toxic Being, Sounds almost unbelievable. How long ago did they lose contact with them?"

"Nearly three hours ago. I believe that one of the Protectors has been dispatched to investigate, but has yet to report in."


Currently:

The second PRIMUS transport has arrived at the ADT Complex bearing our heroes and their prisoners. Directions are given to proceed to the 12th floor of the fifteen stories tall building.

Frostbite coats the Denier with ice before carrying the demon off. Blackout takes the Aviator, leaving Devilspawn for Polaris. White Crane follows along, keeping her eyes open for trouble.

The directions are easy enough to follow and you arrive on the 12th floor. A guard is positioned by the entryway and he sends you off in the right direction. You enter a large testing facility. A control both is raised up in the center of the area and prison cells surround it.

ADT is the company who designs high security prison cells for the Stronghold facilities. This is their testing laboratory where the various defensive measures are analyzed. The lab is not particularly secure itself, but the cells should hold the current prisoners until a more permanent solution arrives.

The new prisoners are placed in their cells and the security systems activated. That task taken care off, the new arrivals note that neither Gladiator nor Psi-Lad is present. Blackout would also be aware of Chimera being here too.

The PRIMUS Agent in charger here explains what happened before you arrived. "Corporal Livingston and some men went to gain access to the building Security Center. We haven't had any contact with them since and we can't contact anyone outside the building either. Something appears to be jamming the signals from inside the building."

"Gladiator and the kid went off to find ADT security. Last I knew they were heading to the front lobby, but again there has been no contact since they left. The woman with the bird-like helmet wander off after we placed Electra in her cell. Frankly, we're kind of in the dark as far as what's going on here."

[GM Mad]

Roll Call: Flux, Tesla, Nemesis, & Starguard

Meanwhile the rest of the team is out on the outer edge of the solar system searching for Goldstar. However, both she and Major Star are not being picked up on the scanners of Starguard's small vessel.

"What would be shielding him? The debris?"

"That is one possibility. Certain metals do block radiation."

"She can convert hydrogen as a method of breathing in space, can change her density, and has a sparkling field around her all the time. I don't know if that helps or not."

After listen to Flux tell Starguard about Goldstar's particulars, Jen will add, "I'm not sure if this is helpful, but she's very warm to the touch. She radiates heat."

"This Goldstar sounds like a very unique person", Starguard notes. "Definitely has some stellar qualities to her."

Starguards fingers dance over the controls once more as he makes adjustments. "I'm adjusting my scans to take into consideration the things that you've mentioned. Ah, there! I'm picking up a faint source of heat. Given that the sun is just little more than another bright star in the sky this far out, any warmth out here has to be Goldstar. Adjusting course."

The ship begins to move deeper into the sprawling debris field, weaving out and around the floating rock and ice.

"This is very strange... The interference is getting stronger as we move closer to the heat source. Perhaps the interference is coming from Goldstar herself?"

Long minutes drag pass as Starguard maneuvers throw the debris field. The debris is not very tightly packed, but it seems to be given the speed at which Starguard is flying his vessel.

Finally, after passing an unusually large hunk of ice, something appears up ahead. The lights from Starguard's ship are being reflected off of something shiny. Up ahead there is something large made of some black metal. It is a giant space ship of some type. No lights can be seen from the craft.

Maneuvering closer, Starguard guides his vessel along the side of the larger ship. Moving along, the sections of the ship seem segmented and look almost worm like in appearance. Occasionally a large structure shoots off from the main body and out into space like some sort of giant limb.

"I wasn't aware that this was even here", Starguard mumbles to himself. "The computer is auto-mapping the vessel as we pass over it. We'll have a full three dimensional view of it in a few moments."

Several gapping holes can be seen in the large ships haul. Sections of the vessel are exposed to the vacuum of space.

Turning back to the computer screen once more, a three-dimensional representation of the vessel has been completed.

"This is very bad...", Starguard mutters. "And Goldstar is inside it."

The alien vessel, when viewed from a distance, looks like a giant insect!


Now what?

[Bruce]

Elrdich Arcane

Eldrich detects no magic residue from the hole in the wall or anywhere else execpt Lady Serena-as usual.

'I am sorry, Lily my magic is not able to farsee or fortell. Those spells are not known to me."

Eldrich will procede down the path of destuction noting the size of the swath and the peculiar footprints left behind by the intruder(s).

A giant beast? A constuct? Anything is possible in this realm, I think.

The great cat that is Lily halts its movement down a hallway, ears perked and Eldrich halts as well, knowing she must sense activity of interest.

If it is a construct we face my magic can do little. Perhaps there is a controller....

[Bruce]

Flux

Starguard pilots his vessel too close to the other ship for Flux's comfort, but no Buck Rogers disintergrater rays strike at their ship. The other spacecraft does nothing and even appears damaged in places.

"How bad, Starguard? Is this a warship? I see what looks like damage to it." A sudden thought strikes Flux.

"Humph. How likely is it they have Goldstar in there as a power source replacement?"

[Frostbite]

Frostbite

A great satisfied look comes across Frosty's face when the three are placed behind bars. "Well now I feel a lot better. They wont be going anywhere for a while."

He will then turn to the others and say, " Let's get to the Lobby asap. Now where is that Elevator....."

[Menagerie]

Lily:

The feline form of Lily will share her discoveries with the others. "Looks like this hole was made from the outside. Perhaps a break-in of some sort, though who would want to, I don't know.

"I smell men and oil, probably guns. Be careful."

'I am sorry, Lily my magic is not able to farsee or fortell. Those spells are not known to me."

"That's okay, Eldrich. It was merely a bit of wishful thinking."

She slinks her way deeper into the installation, following the trail of destruction. "Looks like they brought something or someone very large with them. These 3-toed footprints imply something alive. From the smell, I might guess a robot, or armored man. Do any of you recall hearing of any large robots or giant armored supervillains?"

Lily pauses at an intersection of corridors. They are getting close. She sniffs the air and turns her head to try to determine where the sounds are coming from. "That way," she says, pointing a paw toward the nearby hallway. "Keep an eye out for that hole, too."

She begins to pad her way quietly down the hall. "Please stay behind me and let's see what I can learn without being spotted." Lily follows the trail, moving silently in the way that only a feline can. She particularly pays attention to any sign of the invaders splitting up, perhaps to go both through the hole in the wall and down the hallway opposite.

[Nemesis]

Nemesis:

Jen watches wide eyed as they move around and about the strange alien vessel. She finally says something when it becomes clear just what this thing really is!

"Now that is really creepy! You don't think that any of those bugs are still around, do you? If they area, I hope you have a giant can of raid on hand!"

For the moment, Jen just watches to see what happens next.

[Serena]

Serena:


Sword drawn, Serena trails after Panther Lily, but stays before Eldrich. Knowing that mages tend to be rather weak, she seeks to protect him should an attack arise.

The feline form of Lily will share her discoveries with the others. "Looks like this hole was made from the outside. Perhaps a break-in of some sort, though who would want to, I don't know."

"The Colorful Knights were besieged by their enemies! We must seek out these invaders and defeat them!"

She slinks her way deeper into the installation, following the trail of destruction. "Looks like they brought something or someone very large with them. These 3-toed footprints imply something alive. From the smell, I might guess a robot, or armored man. Do any of you recall hearing of any large robots or giant armored supervillains?"

Serena looks back at Lily with a somewhat blank look on her face. "I do not recall any armored foes from earlier. Unfortunately, I do not know what a 'robot' is? Is a magical creature of some type? Undead?"

Serena will move several steps back from Lily, allowing the cat to move ahead in silence. She'll attack should any threats become apparent.

[Tesla]

Tesla:

"Now that is really creepy! You don't think that any of those bugs are still around, do you? If they area, I hope you have a giant can of raid on hand!"

"It could just be their ship design Nemesis, and not actually what they look like," Tesla will say knowing that the military is often fond of decorating various craft or giving it a certain 'appearance' to invoke fear in the enemy.

Tesla really has nothing else to do at the moment until more information comes from Starguard or something happens first.

[Blackout]

Blackout:

"If that's where they were headed then let's go after them. Who is this Bird helmet lady your speaking of? No more than we are sir. We'll make sure to make this black out be as short as possible. See ya in a few." he says confidently.

He will then turn to the others and say, " Let's get to the Lobby asap. Now where is that Elevator....."

"Hey now I didn't do.. oh.. nevermind.." Blackout realizes it wasn't him that Frostbite was speaking of and lets it drop.

He finds it strange that people would just be sitting around as if it was business as usual while strange things were going on in the same building. Blackout figures there probably has to somebody to man various posts, but it still strikes him as odd.

Blackout will move to the elevator with the others and prepare to go to the lobby area.

[Bruce]

Erldrich Arcane

Eldrich contains his frustration with the calming technique used to steady the mind for magic as he cannot answer Lily's question about "robots" or "giants in armor".

"Again, I am sorry Lily, but I know nothing of this realms inhabitants except for what I have seen these past two days."

Eldrich can only be ready with his best eldritch bolts as he has no notion of what to expect-other than Lily-cat's statement on the presense of men.

Roll Call: Flux, Tesla, Starguard, and Nemesis


Out beyond the orbit of Pluto, our searchers have come across and alien vessel shaped like a giant insect…

"How bad, Starguard? Is this a warship? I see what looks like damage to it. How likely is it they have Goldstar in there as a power source replacement?""

"Yes it is a damaged warship", Starguard will confirm. He hits several more controls on the panel before him. Each of you feels a slight throb in your head, but it passes after a few moments.

After working more controls, Starguard's ship moves away from the warship and takes a position behind a large hunk of debris. Rising, Starguard turns to face you.

"It is Tyrixx warship", Starguard explains. "Heavily damaged from some battle and it has been drifting here for a long time. It is possible that they are indeed using Goldstar's heat emitting ability as a make shift power source. If that is the case, then we have precious little time to act."

"The Tyrixx are essentially alien insects and they do indeed resemble the shape of their ship. Think of them as cosmic locust with a hive mind mentally. If they become aware of Earth, they will attempt to over run it and strip the planet bare. They must be stopped at all costs and do not hesitate to use lethal force."

"They cannot be communicated verbally. They are a telepathic species with limited telekinetic abilities. Even worse, each member of a particular brood is in constant mental contact with their hive mother who is in turn in constant mental contact with the Tyrixx Queen. The pain you all momentarily felt was the effect of a Psi-Scrambler that will block this mind link in this area. Otherwise, as soon as we were spotted all the Tyrixx would know. Most likely they are already aware that this vessel was damage. If they should suddenly loose contact that should conclude that battle damage destroyed it."

"Tyrixx warriors possess a poisonous sting and can spit acid. The other castes, save for the Queen herself, are not as dangerous."

"The source of the interference appears to becoming from the ship itself. It is known that the Tyrixx have cloaking technology, so that's probably why I didn't detect their presence. It's possible that both Major Star and Goldstar are on board the ship. We're going to have to go over there and find out."

"Any questions?"

[GM Mad]

Roll Call: Lily, Eldrich, & Serena


With Panther Lily in the lead, the trio quietly moves down the hallway towards the opening in the wall and the side corridors where she smelled men.

As she draws nearer to the opening, Lily can tell that it was created by the wall being ripped open. There does not appear to have been a doorway there before. There is a small space behind the opening that reminds her of an elevator shaft. There is no car present at the moment. The clawed footprints lead up to this opening and judging by the size of it, whatever the large thing that has been moving through the base created it.

Noise from down the hallway almost opposite of the created opening attracts Lily's attention. Moving closer, she can strongly smell the men and hear them better. They are just chatting amongst themselves and are wondering just "How much longer this is going to take."

Daring a peek, Lily spots five armed men dressed in green and yellow. VIPER agents!



Roll Call: Blackout, Frostbite, Polaris, and White Crane.

"If that's where they were headed then let's go after them. Who is this Bird helmet lady your speaking of? No more than we are sir. We'll make sure to make this black out be as short as possible. See ya in a few." he says confidently.

"Thanks", the PRIMUS Operative will state. "Our orders are to remain here with the prisoners. We can't be sure just how effective these experimental cells are. The woman with the bird helmet was called Chimera. We really don't know much about her."

With Frostbite in the lead, the group departs the holding area. Directions to the elevators are easy enough to find and they are quickly located. Taking the elevator, the group goes down to the lobby.

The door opens and all is quite down in the lobby. Signs once more lead you the main entryway. It is a large open lobby with several doors leading outside. A security station is noted and you move to investigate it. No one is around.

Looking over the counter, you are greeted with a gruesome sight. Two men in guard uniforms are sprawled on the floor surrounded by blood!


Now what?

[Menagerie]

Lily:

Serena looks back at Lily with a somewhat blank look on her face. "I do not recall any armored foes from earlier. Unfortunately, I do not know what a 'robot' is? Is a magical creature of some type? Undead?"

"Again, I am sorry Lily, but I know nothing of this realms inhabitants except for what I have seen these past two days."

Lily-panther pauses. "Ah... yes. I keep forgetting that you are both new to our world. Unfortunately, prior to the other day, I never really paid much attention to metahuman affairs. I guess I am paying the price now for that oversight."

After investigating the hole in the wall, Lily returns to her partners. "I believe the large one went through there. The men we were following appear to have gone down the other way. Give me a minute to investigate, and I'll let you know what we can expect."

Turning, she pads stealthily down the hallway, following the sound of the voices. From a darkened corner, she peeks out and observes the men. Even she recognises their uniforms: VIPER. Lily has actually been involved in prosecuting cases against a few of their agents, so she knows them well.

Moving as silently as before, she returns once again to speak with Serena and Eldrich. "Okay, I got a look at them. There are 5 men; agents of a criminal organization called VIPER. VIPER is deeply involved in much of the organized criminal activity in most major cities in the country - and perhaps the world.

"They don't look particularly ready, so we may be able to put them down quickly. The bigger concern is the return of that big creature that's been tearing through the walls." As she talks, Lily abandons the panther form and changes to look as much like Major Star as she can manage. She then boosts her speed to the max and enhances her strength with whatever power she has left. "Let's hit them hard and fast.

"Are you ready?" she asks the Serena and Eldrich. Once they are, Lily turns and takes off down the hallway at full speed. Bursting into the room, she'll attempt to plow down as many of the men as possible, circling around for additional passes as needed.

[Tesla]

Tesla:

"The Tyrixx are essentially alien insects and they do indeed resemble the shape of their ship. Think of them as cosmic locust with a hive mind mentally. If they become aware of Earth, they will attempt to over run it and strip the planet bare. They must be stopped at all costs and do not hesitate to use lethal force."

"I guess they are bugs after all," Tesla will say to Nemesis. "So much for hoping otherwise."

Tesla rubs her head even though the momentary discomfort is long gone. She listens to Starguard explain what he did, but still isn't overjoyed about it, "How 'bout a heads up next time before you do that?"

Tesla continues to listen about the rest of the details that Starguard can provide. Once he is done, he asks if there are any other questions.

"Do you know how their ship might be laid out? Are there schematics or anything we can look at?" She'll look over at Flux to see what he's thinking. "It might be good to go straight for where they might be keeping Goldstar, especially if one of the damaged areas will lead us there quicker."

[Frostbite]

Frostbite

As the the elevator slowly makes it way to the lobby Frosty's gaze looks at the floor indicator. He looks around at the others nervously and begins to look at the door willing it to open to no avail.

Soon the floor indicator dings and the doors open. Stepping off the elevator Frosty gives a sigh of relief. As he look around he notices not a person in sight. He begins to walk to the doors and see if they are operating correctly or have been anyway tampered with.

Once done he moves to the counter where oddly enough no one is stationed there....
He looks to the others in fustration and says, " Where is everyone?" He looks towards the entranceway and sees nothing then in fustration leans over the counter and gazes at a horrible sight. Two guards lay on the ground in a pool of blood. "Oh no....."
Vaulting the counter and going norm he will move to their sides and look for vitals.

[Bruce]

Flux

"What kind of firepower do they have besides their natural abilities? What's their relative size compared to us? Does this belt make allowances
for our powers and abilities? If their ship does not turn up somewhere do they send anything to look for it? And lastly, can we out run them after we get our people back?"

Flux has reverted to incountry thinking without even realizing it. He is considering ways of a quick retrieval and exit.

[Bruce]

Eldrich Arcane

Eldrich prepares his spells and activates his Amulet as Lilly-Star charges the servants of a Viper. Eldritch bolts launch out to strike down these followers of a snake.....

[Nemesis]

Nemesis:

"I guess they are bugs after all," Tesla will say to Nemesis. "So much for hoping otherwise."

"Believe me, I would have been perfectly happy to be wrong! Giant bugs. Ick!"

Jen is probably the least affected by the mental dizziness. (Not one crack about her already being dizzy!) She already has a measure of psionic protection going for her. For the moment Jen is perfectly happy to follow along and do what is necessary.

[Serena]

Serena:

Serena listens as Lily reports her findings and changes form once more to Major Star.

"Servants of the Serpent", Serena will muse to herself. "Are they dangerous foes in this world?"

Readying herself, Serena will charge after Lily and engage this scaly foes.

[GM Mad]

GM Notes:

Starguard Comments:

"Do you know how their ship might be laid out? Are there schematics or anything we can look at?" She'll look over at Flux to see what he's thinking. "It might be good to go straight for where they might be keeping Goldstar, especially if one of the damaged areas will lead us there quicker."

"Unfortunately, no. This is about the closest any of my order has been to one of these things without being attacked. The interference prevents me from determining the internal layout. At best, we can teleport to outside the ship near one of the holes and go in that way. I do know the general direction of Goldstar, so it should be a quick trip unless we encounter resistance."

"What kind of firepower do they have besides their natural abilities? What's their relative size compared to us? Does this belt make allowances for our powers and abilities? If their ship does not turn up somewhere do they send anything to look for it? And lastly, can we out run them after we get our people back?"

"With the abilities they possess, their ships do not need firepower of any type. The Tyrixx are our size and larger. The belt will adjust to your powers. You can function normally."

"As I indicated earlier, the hive knows the ship was damaged and that they just lost contact with it. It is entirely possible that they will send a scout to find out what happened to it. I'll have to be on guard in the future. However you seem to be missing the gravity of this situation. This ship must be destroyed before we can leave this area. If these Tyrixx can report back to the hive, then dozens of this warships will be dispatched to the Earth. The choice comes down to this. It's either us or them. Who are you going to choose?"

[Menagerie]

Lily:

"Servants of the Serpent", Serena will muse to herself. "Are they dangerous foes in this world?"

"I'm sorry, Serena, but I can't give you a very good answer to that," the feline woman says. "Superheros seem to bring the agents in fairly often, but they have superhumans that work for them as well. I suspect the large entity we tracked may be one of theirs. They do have a reputation for being ruthless and hurting innocents or using them for cover when in danger. You can expect no scruples from them whatsoever."

[Bruce]

Flux

"I haven't missed the seriousness of this op, Starguard. I want to know-worst-case- can you warn the Earth of any impending invasion without giving away it's existence to the enemy? If we fail to destroy this ship I don't want that thing backtracking to our home. I am quite prepared to invade and wreck the thing right now."

Flux knows his duty as a soldier: the same rules seem to apply here. He is ready to carry out a full assault on that ship even if it means the loss of Major Star and Goldstar and even Starguard and the rest of them.....

[Blackout]

Blackout:

Blackout thinks its quite odd that no one is around either and will follow Frostbite as he heads over to the counter.

He looks to the others in fustration and says, " Where is everyone?" He looks towards the entranceway and sees nothing then in fustration leans over the counter and gazes at a horrible sight. Two guards lay on the ground in a pool of blood. "Oh no....."
Vaulting the counter and going norm he will move to their sides and look for vitals.

Blackout will immediately take up a defensive stance as Frostbite checks to see if the guards are still alive. He rests his hand on his holstered rod and concentrates, trying to pick up any sounds or other clues as to who might be responsible or what is really going on around here.

Post Continued:

Roll Call: Eldrich, Lily, & Serena


While exploring the Foundry, the base of the Steel Squadron, three members of the Vigilant have come across VIPER Agents!

Lily, disguised as Major Star, rounds the corner and runs full speed into the VIPER agents, increasing her strength and speed as she goes. The VIPER Agents are caught totally unaware and she plows into two of them. Both men go flying backwards from the impact taking a third agent down with them. The two men initially struck are rendered unconscious. Lily feels the force of the impact, but quickly shrugs it off.

Serena rushes in behind Lily. She catches one of the other agents in the chest with her sword, driving him back into the wall. The VIPER agent bounces off the wall and collapses to the floor.

Eldrich floats in behind the two women. He fires his eldrich bolts at yet another of the men in gold and green uniforms. The bolt connects and the man drops without a sound.

That leaves only two agents left functioning, with one of them currently his back. Both go for their pistols and fire. An energy blast of some type comes from the weapons, but both miss their targets. One fired at Serena, the other at Lily.

Follow up attacks from Lily and Serena take the last two men out. The hallway has been secured. All is quiet for a few moments and then a crash is heard off in the distance, as if something was knocked over. The sound came from the opening that looks into a concealed elevator shaft that was passed along the way.

Roll Call: Blackout, Frostbite, White Crane, and Polaris


Elsewhere, two of the Vigilant along with two members of the Young Champions have reached the lobby of the ADT building. At the security checkpoint, Frostbite has found two guards laying behind the counter in pools of their own blood. He vaults the counter, but quickly realizes that both men are dead.

Numerous bullet wounds can be seen in both men. Further more, the area behind the men has been torn up from heavy weapons fire. They never had a chance.

While Frosty does his examination, White Crane takes a defensive posture while looking around for trouble. She says nothing.

Polaris begins to turn a bit green around the gills at the sight of the dead men. "Man, that is gross!"

Blackout also takes a defensive position. Off in the distance, down one of the numerous hallways leading out of the lobby, he can hear what sounds like men fighting. They are too far away to make out anything further at this point.

White Crane reaches the same conclusion a moment later. "There is a battle off in this direction." The white-clad Japanese woman beings to move off in that direction, her staff ready for battle.


Roll Call: Flux, Tesla, Nemesis, & Starguard

"I haven't missed the seriousness of this op, Starguard. I want to know-worst-case- can you warn the Earth of any impending invasion without giving away it's existence to the enemy? If we fail to destroy this ship I don't want that thing backtracking to our home. I am quite prepared to invade and wreck the thing right now."

"Any signal that I may send right now could be picked up by the enemy. Also, another thing to consider is that if I move my ship away from theirs the psionic jamming field I set up would fade and they would once more be in contact with the rest of the hive. The temporary loss of contact could draw other Tyrixx vessels into this are."

"We do have an advantage right now. With their innate telepathy jammed, any Tyrixx on board that ship will have to act on their own. We won't be facing a coordinated enemy. Our best bet is to sneak on board, locate Goldstar and Major Star and try to cause their engines to overload, destroying the ship in the process."

Now what?

[Menagerie]

Lily:

Careening through a couple VIPER agents, Lily grunts at the impact. The momentum sends the two men plowing into a third, who goes down in a heap of bodies. Carving around in a tight circle, Lily sees Serena and Eldrich take down a couple more agents.

Suddenly, a beam of energy lances out and almost strikes Lily/Star. Tracking its path back to the source, she sees the man buried under the two she plowed through. Apparently, he isn't unconcious yet. Glance over at the hole in the wall where the beam hit tells Lily she's lucky he missed!

It takes but a moment to subdue the remaining two serpents. Lily begins to bind them with anything she can lay her hands on: phone wire, their belts, anything at hand. "Let's tie them up," she says to the Serena and Eldrich. "I don't want them going anywhere until PRIMUS shows up."

Hearing a noise from back the way they came, Lily returns to panther form and slinks out into the hallway. Moving over to the opening, she augments her hearing as much as she can, trying to locate and identify any sounds.

[Tesla]

Tesla:

"Are we still talking about it?" Tesla will ask jokingly.

"Alright, let's go get this done and get our people out of there. I don't think we should have a problem causing damage to their ship once everyone is rescued." Tesla will say the last as she allows some extra electricity to bleed from her eyes, punctuating the statement.

[Nemesis]

Nemesis:

"Are we still talking about it?" Tesla will ask jokingly.

"Yeah, what she said. I wonder what these bugs weakness is? Guess I'm gonna be finding out real quick!"

After a moment's thought, Jen will add, "Oh, Starguard I have a question. If this ship is filled with holes, then parts of it are exposed to open space. Can these bugs survive in space or are they only going to be found in places where there is air?"

[Serena]

Serena:

The Knight rushes in after Lily in her current form. Much to her surprise, these Servants of the Serpent are completely unlike what she expected. They wear bright green and yellow outfits with an armor like helmet. There are no real snakes in the area. The men go down easily and they do not change form. Even after they are all sleeping, Serena will keep an eye on them to ensure that none of them change into serpents.

"What strange servants these are…", Serena notes.

Lily changes back into a panther is off on the move once more. Serena will follow at a discrete distance after the feline.

[Blackout]

Blackout:

Blackout is impressed that White Crane noticed the same thing he did. The noises aren't that subdued, but they are still a good distance off. He will pull out his rod and make sure Frostbite caught what White Crane said.

Once everyone's moving, Blackout will continue to try to determine what he can from the sounds of fighting, like how many potential combatants there might be and if any of them have voices he recognizes.

[Frostbite]

Frosty quickly tries to find a pulse on both down figures. His face contorts into a mixture of concentration as well as fustration. " Come on be alive." he thinks to himself as he tries. Much to his disappointment both guards have died.

He looks down at the bodies and makes a promise to those who have fallen. "Your killers will come to justice." he promises them as well as himself.

White Crane reaches the same conclusion a moment later. "There is a battle off in this direction." The white-clad Japanese woman beings to move off in that direction, her staff ready for battle.

"Let's go and pay them a visit." punchin his hand for influence. He will run after White crane and the others. As he runs he concentrates on forming a coating of ice around him.

[Bruce]

Flux

"That might be an effective method of isolating any combat elements on that ship: puncture the hull in various places. Goldstar and Major Star don't need atmosphere and we have these belts. That ideas workable, 'Guard?"
