The battle for Rennydale continues!
Kharyna casts Magic Missile and Lord Cavius is struck by four of the missiles. A beat later Validar connects again, wounding Cavius further. In spite of his wounds, Lord Cavius continues to fight on.
Arocken moves to help Lilia who has been wrapped up in a Net of Entanglement. The net surrounds Lilia, moving of its own accord and frustrating her efforts to get free. Arocken attempts to slice into the net, but meets with no success.
Those near to Cavius unexpectedly hear chanting coming from behind the Lord and his men. Further back in the entryway to the castle stands a man in a black robe. Dangling about his neck on a chain is what appears to be a sun symbol cast in silver. What is more curious is that it appears that the sun has been melted so as to be misshapen.
The black-robed man finishes his spell and the effects are unleashed. Both Validar and Swanny feel a momentary stiffness, but it passes without incident. Acerion is not as fortunate as he stiffens up and cannot move.
Close by, Chareos is in close quarters combat with a troll. Having taken in a draft of his Potion of Fiery Breathing, Chareos spews it out and into the troll's face! The troll is singed by the attack, but it does not slow it down otherwise. It lashes out once more, gashing Chareos' chest with its claws. Its teeth attempt to take a bite out of his shoulder. Once more Sherwood's protective magic saves him from harm.
Po and the Warriors from Kharyna's horn strike at the men behind Cavius, trying to reach the black robed priest behind them. Another of the held men goes down in blood.
"NO!", Ivy shouts in horror as she watches this transpire. "They are not a threat at the moment! There is no need to kill them!"
The men entranced by Lyonessa's song continue to engage the trolls. One of the men connects with his longsword, the other misses the target.
The trolls strike back! The first man is wounded while the second goes down in a shower of blood as claws and teeth rend flesh. Lord Corley is wounded by his troll's claw.
Lord Corley retaliates by striking the troll back with his two-handed sword doing massive damage and in the process healing the wound he had just received.
Swanny closes in on Lord Cavius once more, but her attack is blocked harmlessly away.
The remaining archers on the towers flanking the main entrance of the castle rain shafts down on the party. Lara is struck twice, ruining the spell she was attempting to cast.
Four shafts fly at Kharyna and all four miss. However, one of the missiles strikes her Spell Shield and something remarkable happens. The arrow isn't deflected aside, instead is it sent straight back to where it came from! A cry of pain from on top of the towers tells Kharyna that the arrow struck its shooter!
Two more shafts are sent towards Lyonessa, but they miss their target.
With Acerion held, Lord Cavius concentrates his efforts on Lord Validar and Swanny. Validar takes one hit from the longsword, but it lacks the sting of the earlier strikes. The shortsword used by Lord Cavius carves into Swanny twice, injuring her.
Unaware of what is going on down in the courtyard, Sherra prepares to fire her shortbow up on the rooftops. Talia holds on to Sherra, steadying her. Spying two archers in the tower before her firing arrows on those below them, Sherra takes aim and fires. Each of her shots connects and each archer goes down from the impacts.
Looking around, the rooftop thieves can see two more archers in the tower further to their left firing arrows into the courtyard.
Up on top of the gatehouse, Kylie moves closer to the men she just put asleep, her half-elven eyes locked on the group of men on the other side of the gatehouse. Standing up, she casts a Web spell at the men.
A thick, tangled mass of webs erupts around the men. However, it lacks the necessary support and the mass collapses upon itself. (The battlements are only 4 feet high at most and the Web needs to have support at least ten feet high from diametrically opposite points.)
Two of the men in the web manage to free themselves enough to send arrows Kylie's way. Two of the shafts hit, but simply bounce off thanks to Sherwood's protection spell. More of the men are pulling themselves free of the collapsed Web.
Down in the entry tunnel underneath the Gatehouse, Grondar is assaulted by a trio of guards. Each of the men fails to strike their target. Grondar retaliates, downing one of the men with his mace.
More of the guards come pouring out. Laucian fires his own arrows at one of the men. Two hits later and the man is down. Another guard takes a swing at Laucian with his shortsword but misses.
Lyonessa finishes casting Spiritual Hammer. A shimmering magical hammer comes into existence and moves about according to the whims of the Songstress. She sends the hammer to strike the troll still futility trying to chomp on Chareos, further wounding it.

Henchmen
Po -
Po continues helping to hack down the bodyguard of Lord Cavius. Another man falls, leaving only one more. Then the cleric Ivy lets out a horrific scream.
Po doesn't quite understand this in the middle of a deadly battle, but seeing the man in dark robes, he realizes this is a more important target anyway. Pushing past the final held man, Po will try and engage the cleric in hand to hand combat.
Arocken -
Arocken tries unsuccessfully to free Lilia and decides that it doesn't make sense to further take another member of the group out of the fight with this annoying net.
Standing near the downed Lilia to protect her from anyone approaching, Arocken will fire arrows at the approaching soldiers. Once they get too close, he will engage in hand to hand. "Don't worry, mages, Laucian, the dwarf and I will keep these men at bay!"

Kharyna watches the four Magic Missiles strike Lord Cavius while she ignores the arrows dropping around her. One hits her shield and noticing the familiar magickal surge of energy, she follows the shaft back to its originator and smiles as the scream of pain indicates a hit in return.
Lara unfortunately was unsuccessful with her magic and Cavius is still standing. Kharyna thinks about trying to take out the trolls for Chareos and Lord Corley or trying to Dispel the effect on Lord Acerion, but the direct tactic is still the best Kharyna decides. There are others who can complete those tasks, should they prove necessary.
When Arocken confirms that the soldiers from behind, not yet a concern for Kharyna, are under control, she does not even look that way, trusting in the 3 men's skill. Kharyna will use her Staff of Power to fire 4 more Magic Missiles at Lord Cavius. Seeing that although she could see the results of the evil cleric's attack, I am assuming she cannot see him.

VALIDAR -
Once Lord Cavius initial attacks and those of his minions passed, the initiative changed in the Guardians of the Light's favor. Validar noticed the streaking magickal missiles arc past him and strike Lord Cavius solidly, a moment before the noble warrior's own sword strike landed as well.
Cavius continued to fight on and Validar is unsure if this is due to the man's skill and determination or the effects of the potion that corrupted him.
As the chanting begins behind Cavius, Validar catches a glimpse of a man in black robes. He begins to feel the vile effects of this man's evil magic come over him, but the lord shrugs it off and continues his fight. He sees Acerion freeze in place however. Unable and unwilling to break off with Cavius, Validar continues to press his attack, confident in his own skill as well as that of his allies. Cavius cannot stand up under these attacks for much longer.
"Come, Aswansea! Let us redouble our efforts! Lord Corley! Your assistance in finishing Cavius is required!" Validar will yell to his comrades and hope to put the finishing touches on this battle with Cavius.

Kharyna will yell at the top of her voice limits so that everyone may be able to hear her. "Someone try to place a HOLD on Cavius! If we stop him, the battle is won! Everyone and everything else is just a diversion from our real goal!"
And if anyone asks why Kharyna didn't cast it, it's because she did direct damage last time and should do so again this time, especially using the Staff.

"Trolls! And who was it that told me I wouldn't have to worry about trolls Chareos?" Lyonessa concentrates and sends her Spiritual Hammer sailing into the one wishing to make a feast of the fire breathing mage.
"Come, Aswansea! Let us redouble our efforts! Lord Corley! Your assistance in finishing Cavius is required!" Validar will yell to his comrades and hope to put the finishing touches on this battle with Cavius.
Lyonessa can not believe her ears. soldiers are falling to our magic and our steel in the droves. Validar said trolls were not our problem but he has yet to face one. my charms and magics enspell these humans easily but they fall to the troll's might just as fast, and now he wishes to call the only fighter near us holding these trolls at bay, Corley, to his side

Feeling sweat gathering on her brow, she redirects the Spiritual Hammer back into the troll she already wounded, praying for a crippling blow. She also prays neither Chareos or his magical protections fall, otherwise her end will be indeed swift.

"Trolls are just trolls, sister!" Kharyna will shout back to Lyonessa. "We can always Fireball them if everyone is out of the area of them! If Cavius bests our front-line fighters we could all be lost!"

With his potion spewed in the monster's face he is taken aback by the results of his attack. The creature merely shrugs off the embers and commences an attack of its own. A claw flashes to strike his chest but merely rips cloth. In turn its mouth soon sinks upon his shoulder . He can't but groan as he tries to shrug the creature off. Amazingly enough Sherwood's magic still seems to be in effect but for how much longer......
"It seems I have underestimated your kind, but you will not find me a midnight snack so easily!" he will say through gritted teeth.
He begins to put his trust in his master Sheridan's training. And swings his feather-light quarterstaff in an attempt to pummel the creature.

As the men begin to pour out of the entryway Laucian draws an arrow and fires. Finding his mark the guard stumbles yet keeps coming. Knocking another arrow, taking aim and firing, he finds his mark again. As the arrow slams into the guard's chest spilling his life's blood to the ground another guard moves to engage him. The man swings his blade and Laucian nimbly moves so the blow misses his shoulder.
Looking into the man's eyes he shows no fear as he unsheathes his sword, using his bow to turn away blows until his sword is out, then dropping the bow. "Brave but foolish," he mutters to the man as he begins to answer the attack with an attack of his own.

Acerion feels something sweep over him and his muscles fail to respond to his desire. He glances past Lord Cavius and thinks he spies someone in the back among the shadows, but he can not be certain. Within the moment of a mere thought, his body stands unmoving, his mental commands of direction go unanswered.
Acerion can pick up movements out of the corners of his eyes and thinks he can hear shouts and screams of his companions. I can not remain like this, too many are in need of me. I will not let vile magic command me to do nothing. Acerion concentrates, bringing forth an inner power, focusing it to dispel what has imprisoned him.

Although she isn't afraid of falling, Sherra is grateful when she feels Talia's hands steadying her and she takes aim on one and then another archer. Sherra praises Tymora as she watches boft shafts strike their targets and take the men out of the fight.
"We may need to move again soon as we're still not in the best vantage point," Sherra says in just more than a whisper as she draws another arrow and switches her aim to the other pair of archers she can still see that pose a threat.

Talia
Talia:
Sherra hangs on while Talia takes the fast way to the battle. Using the combination of her Boots of Springing and Striding along with her Spider-Cloak, Talia runs down the wall and leaps to the courtyard. She crosses the courtyard in just a few leaps and bounds before scampering up the wall.
All the while, Sherra hangs on for dear life. While the enchantment of the boots protected Talia from all the stresses of this type of movement, Sherra was not as fortunate and took the force of some of the impacts. However, she recovers quickly.
Back up on the rooftops, we see a fireball exploding over one of the towers, singeing the men. The one in the black robe falls, while two archers send their bows towards the others.
Sherra draws her bow and begins to take aim. Talia moves to give her fellow thief some extra support.
"I hadn't really considered it that way", Talia will say with a slight grin, her confidence growing. "I was mainly referring to not really being someone who breaks into places is all.""No actually I didn't," Sherra replies with a devious smile. "They're just regular troops Talia, surely you think our abilities are far superior to them, otherwise we won't last long as adventurers." Sherra holds back the laughter, not wanting to give away our position. Although it seems we won't be in this position for long.

The Elf Maiden allows herself a slight smile as her Web seals off the ones side of the courtyard. The feeling is short lived as arrows bounce off her protective spell and then a net settles over her. Even more peculiar, the net moves of its own accord! It's enchanted!
While she struggles to free herself, Lilia hears Laucian call out that he is coming to assist her. However it is Arocken who arrives and attempts to cut her loose.
"The net is magical!", Lilia calls out. "I don't know if you can cut it or not!"
Seeing how Arocken cannot cut her loose, the Elf Maiden guesses that he can't. Unsure of what to do, Lilia will continue to try to get loose on her own.

Lord Corley engages the fierce troll with a grunt as he slashes at it with his great sword. Not only does the beast take the damage in stride, it continues to fearlessly attack!
Lord Corley will attempt to make a fighting withdrawl so as to disengage from the troll. He will NOT turn his back to such a dangerous foe!

Ivy
Ivy:
Ivy is thankful that Lilia manages to seal off that particular group of men and trolls. With that taken carry of, Ivy moves towards the front of the castle. She casts Hold Person attempting to ensnare Lord Cavius and his men. However, only the henchmen are affected by the magic, effectively neutralizing them.
While considering what to next, Ivy is horrified when Po and some strange men she had never seen before start hacking into them!
"NO!", Ivy shouts in horror as she watches this transpire. "They are not a threat at the moment! There is no need to kill them!"
Such senseless bloodshed! Killing of men who cannot defend themselves is wrong!
Regardless the battle rages on around Ivy. She gasps when she sees the Black Robed priest appear in the doorway. Even more ominous, he bears the Holy Symbol of Pholtus, the God of Light except it has been strangely deformed. The priest casts his own Hold spell, causing Acerion to freeze up.
Panicked, Ivy casts Dispel Magic, centering it on Acerion in hopes of freeing him before he can be injured. At the same time, perhaps the spell will free Lord Cavius as well.

Regardless the battle rages on around Ivy. She gasps when she sees the Black Robed priest appear in the doorway. Even more ominous, he bears the Holy Symbol of Pholtus, the God of Light except it has been strangely deformed. The priest casts his own Hold spell, causing Acerion to freeze up.
Panicked, Ivy casts Dispel Magic, centering it on Acerion in hopes of freeing him before he can be injured. At the same time, perhaps the spell will free Lord Cavius as well.

The combat in the courtyard of Rennydale Castle continues fast and furious. Laucian goes for his longsword as the castle guards close in on him. He swings hard at the man approaching him, cleaning slicing his right arm off before embedding his sword in the man's chest. The guard's face contorts in pain and then goes blank as he falls in the throes of death.
Lyonessa maneuvers her Spiritual Hammer in at the troll chomping at Chareos, but misses the fast-moving beast.
Close by, Lara casts Mirror Image and suddenly there are five of the small elf.
Further back in the tunnel underneath the gatehouse, Grondar is attacked by three more guards, his armor turning aside their assault. His mace lashes out once more and another guard goes down in a heap.
On the top of the Gatehouse overhead, Kylie casts Blur and her features shift and waver wildly.
Up on the steps to the main castle itself, Po pushes past the last henchmen and moves on the black-robed priest. The priest is ready and holds a twisted and unsightly staff in his hands. The staff is swung and strikes Po in his right shoulder. The young man lets out a blood curdling scream and collapses to the floor.
Lord Cavius continues his two-sword attack on Lord Validar and Swanny. He connects once with each target, further wounding them. The blows lack the power of the previous strikes, but still are taking a toll.
Validar retaliates and lands his own sword strike on Cavius. Miraculously, the Lord of Rennydale still stands!
Over in the left hand courtyard, the trolls renew their assault. The one grappling with the Hypnotized man lands another claw strike.
The troll engaging Lord Corley continues to press him even as the young lord tries to back away. His enchanted armor continues to protect him from harm. A second troll leaps in from seemingly out of nowhere, taking Corley to the ground. However, his armor repels all attacks coming his way.
However, Chareos isn't as fortunate. He's clawed and bitten once more, but takes no damage thanks to Sherwood's protective spell. The next claw strike finally finds flesh as the troll painfully rips into the mage's left leg. He collapses to the ground in pain.
The warriors summoned from Kharyna's horn step over Po and advanced on the black robed priest. One hits him with a battle axe, drawing blood.
The guards that moved out of the tunnel and into the courtyard make their presence felt. They move in on an unsuspecting Kharyna, slipping past Laucian. Arocken intercepts one of the men and slays him with his sword.
The guards direct their attacks at Kharyna's mount. The horse is wounded and throws Kharyna in the process. Kharyna takes no damage from the fall and continues to be surrounded by her sphere of magical energy.
Up near the battle with Lord Cavius, Acerion continues to be held fast by the priest's spell. He concentrates on an inner ability, his body beginning to glow slightly as some unknown power is brought into play.
Suddenly, the light lashes out from Acerion, moving outwards about fifteen feet from his body before it vanishes. Many strange things occur in the wake of the burst of light energy.
Acerion feels the paralysis lifting from his limbs. He can move once more! The warriors summoned by Kharyna's horn suddenly vanish, as do the trolls hovering over Lord Corley and Chareos. Lyonessa's Spiritual Hammer winks out of existence. The henchman previously held by Ivy also regains his movement.
Most dramatically is the blood curdling scream issued by Lord Cavius himself. He inexplicably drops his swords and collapses to the ground in anguish.
Back up on the Gatehouse, the soldiers send arrows at Kylie. Three of the four shafts miss her Blurred form. The fourth does hit something solid, but simply bounces off her Stoneskin.
Lord Corley regains his footing and looks around in confusion. There were two trolls standing over him a moment ago!
Way up on the roof of the castle, Sherra continues to fire arrows into the backs of the tower archers. She wounds one of the two men in the right hand tower.
The archers turn and look back, trying to find where the surprise attack came from with no success.
Seeing Cavius on the ground openly weeping, Swanny disengages and closes in on the black robed priest. As she moves in, she sees Po writhing on the floor in agony, favoring his right arm. The warrior woman savagely cuts into the evil priest with her Flame Tongue, nearly gutting the man. He collapses to the floor in a shower of blood, but remarkably still lives.

Kylie glances about quickly for some kind of cover. She spots the crenelations in the low wall surrounding the rooftop. They are nearly as high as she is tall; it should provide fine cover.
Kylie begins to move at a measured pace toward the corner of the wall ahead and to the right of her where the wall cuts inward over the drawbridge. As she moves, Kylie begins to return fire with her bow, starting with the nearest guard. If one arrow puts him down, she continues on to the next. If she misses or one arrow isn't sufficient, she fires a second at the same target.

With the guard advancing on him he draws his sword with a metallic hiss and bares it in front of him. Before the guard can react he grabs his sword with both hands and strikes. He finds a chink in the armor severing the man's arm. As the man looks on in horror the fine blade bites into the man's leather tunic. The guard drops to the ground unmoving. Laucian soon after says a quick and silent pray in his head for the fallen man. 'May you soon find peace by your patron's side.'
Recalling the other guards he looks around for them and sees Arocken dispatch one while two others converge on Kharyna and her mount. He chances a glance down the tunnel and sees three men engage Grondar; fortunately the sturdy dwarf still stands and seems to be holding his own. He then looks to his fellow clansmen and he moves to her side.
As he draws closer he will say, "Hold still I will have you free soon." With that he will attemp to grab the net and drag it to the battlements wall hopefully finding a blindspot so the archers cannot hit her while she is tied up.

The battle with the troll continues as the gruesome troll strikes twice more with both maw and claw. Yet once again the blows are glanced away by Sherwood's most useful spell. Chareos's luck has been pushed to its limits as the Troll lashes out with another claw strike that rips through his robes and flesh of his thigh. The pain is so great that he lets out a cry of pain as he falls to the ground. He clutches his thigh with one hand and quarter staff with the other hand.
He quickly realizes that he is at this creature's mercy and most likely will receive no quarter. As he vainly shimmies himself away, with his eyes on the troll the most oddest thing occurs.
A strange light engulfs himself and his troll, as the light dissipates the troll before him suddenly disappears into thin air. He looks on in shock as he tries to find the lost troll. Apparently having lost his troll he tries to regain his footing using his staff as a support. He glances around to see if anything similar has happened. He doesn't have to look far as Corley's trolls vanished as well! Yet the one fighting his own man still exists.
"Most curious!" is all he can say.

Chareos loses whatever magic was protecting him and drops from a nasty gash to his leg. To add to her horror the Spiritual Hammer misses its target. Mystra no! it can't end like this!
Within a breath's time the whole conflict changes. A wave of light washes over the area and Lyonessa gasps as her Spiritual Hammer winks from existance. Three of the trolls follow suit though. what was that? some area of effect spell no doubt, but what? and from who?
Lyonessa quickly goes to Chareos to see if the mage needs healing. "Are you alright? Can you stand?" concern etched into her face. She watches him stand with help from his staff. If he wishes healing, all he has to do is but ask. If he desires no healing, she will grab for her warhammer and hurl it at the remaining troll.

"Are you alright? Can you stand?" concern etched into her face.
With a grimmace of pain as well as determination upon his face, he gathers his staff and makes to stand up. "I will be okay," he says testing his leg," Aye I should be. Though if you have a cure for stubborness it would be greatly appreciated." he manages to grin.
"I would be thankful for any healing you could provide but let us first deal with the task at hand."
As the trolls vanish Chareos becomes aware of Lyonessa coming to him and asking if the mage is okay.

Events are happening too quickly to keep track of in the battle. Ivy sees Po and the unknown men and armor go past the men she held to engage the black robed priest. A horrific scream of pain follows.
Trying to momentarily block that shriek out, Ivy prepares to attempt to Dispel the magic holding Acerion. Looking towards the fair Paladin of Heironeous, Ivy can see his body mysteriously beginning to glow. Puzzled, Ivy finds herself watching instead of casting her spell. Is this another strange ability of Acerion's?
The light grows brighter and then leaps out from Acerion. A remarkable thing happens to those magicks touched by the light. Spells are removed and summoned creatures are dispatched. Even better, the effort not only freed Acerion from his paralysis but seems to have cured Lord Cavius as well! Relief floods Ivy's face when she realizes that the tide appears to have turned and this conflict may just about be over.

Suddenly, a second troll comes flying in, taking Corley to the ground. The creature is a blur of teeth and claw, but remarkably the magical armor continues to hold.
Suddenly there is a white flash and when it fades the trolls are gone!
"What happened?", Lord Corley cries out in confusion. "Where did the enemy go to?"
Rising back to his feet, Corley looks around. Lord Cavius seems to be down, so Corley's aid is not needed there. Looking the other way only one troll can be seen attacking a strange man.
"Courage, friend!", Lord Corley calls out as he moves in that direction. "I shall assist you in dispatching this beast!"

Lilia's a real drag

Almost oblivious to what is going on around her, Lilia continues to futilely struggle against the magical net. The next thing she knows, Laucian is standing over her.
Almost oblivious to what is going on around her, Lilia continues to futilely struggle against the magical net. The next thing she knows, Laucian is standing over her.
"For that I would be most grateful", Lilia responds. However, she's not too happy to be dragged across the ground while still trapped in the net. Wouldn't it have been easier to have simply picked her up and gently carried her?"Hold still I will have you free soon."
Either by my magic or my bow you WILL fall!
Swanny
Swanny:
Had she more time and not been on the receiving end of his swords, Swanny would be impressed by the swordsmanship of Lord Cavius. He's more than kept Validar and her at bay!
The strange light sweeps in and Cavius drops to the ground, much like the men at the tower did once freed from the influence of the black water. Not pausing to consider her good fortune, Swanny rushes to assist against the black-robed priest. He's probably the most dangerous of the foes left.
She steps past the screaming Po without a second though. He'll have to wait to be tended to while this scum sucking priest is still about! Swanny carves the priest up and he drops to the floor in a bloody mess. She calmly levels her sword at the man, and raises her helm so that he can see her face.
"Surrender or die", Swanny simply states.

Acerion:
Acerion concentrates and brings forth his natural ability. I will not be held! With raw determination he feels the power flow from him since he centered the dispel directly on himself. Within a moment of its passing he is awarded with movement once more. Acerion is relieved that his own power was strong enough to dispel the foul priest's magic.
Acerion is alarmed when Lord Cavius drops and is in sheer agony. It would seem his dispel played havoc with some of his companions' magic as well. With Cavius down and writhing in pain, he notes Po and Swanny moving past to dispatch the priest, which Swanny seems to have done quite efficiently.
Acerion turns to Validar to see what should be done with Lord Cavius. He steps up to where Cavius lies and taps his battle axe onto his armored breast. It appears the fight is almost over, but he remains alert in case Cavius or some nearby foe have any surprises left.

Sherra:
This pair of archers seems to be made of sterner stuff as Sherra only manages to wound one of them. They do stop attacking her companions however and turn around, trying to locate their attacker. Sherra smiles playfully as they can not seem to pinpoint her location.
Sherra will fire two more arrows, the destination of the second arrow depending on the outcome of her first shot. If the first hits and drops the one she's already wounded, Sherra will move to the second archer. If it misses or doesn't finish off the first one, then she will follow up with the second arrow at the same target.

Kharyna -
As Kharyna is about to use her Staff of Power to cast more Magic Missiles at Lord Cavius, she becomes aware of soldiers striking her riding horse from behind.
As the thought forms that the three men behind her should be holding these opponents at bay, her horse goes down and Kharyna goes down with it. Letting a curse fly from her lips at the men, she rolls to her back and sees the guards menacing her.
"As you all seem so determined to sacrifice yourself in a misguided manner for your corrupted lord, then you should feel the sting meant for him." Kharyna considers for a moment as her wrath subsides. "However, there is no reason to waste such power on the likes of you." Kharyna will instead cast Sleep on the guards attacking her and any others that are in the tunnel or near it.

Seeing the guards stream past and attack the mage of Mystra, Arocken's heart sinks. He slashes down one man and then moves to support the fallen mage. Arocken attacks any of the soldiers standing around Kharyna that she has not already dropped with her Magic Missiles. "I am still here to defend you, milady!"

VALIDAR -
Validar and Aswansea continue their battle against Lord Cavius. His sword seems to move on its own accord at times, making him even more effective and dangerous than the already impressive skill he possesses.
"You are weakening, Lord Cavius. Soon you will fall!" Validar shouts as they continue to exchange sword strikes. Validar takes another wound, but also delivers one of his own. Cavius cannot be long on his feet now.
Validar does not slow his fighting as the bright light washes over them. He has fought in the midst of magicks before and it is only Lord Cavius' unearthly scream that causes him to pause. The man lets his two swords slip from his hands to the ground and slumps to the ground.
Aswansea and Validar exchange looks and then the warrior woman moves in on the black-robed priest and slashes him violently to the ground. Validar takes a look around him at the battle, as it seems to wind down.
Lord Acerion is moving again and his armor seems to glow with the dissipating effects of an inner light. "Well done," Lord Validar will say, giving the noble warrior a respectful nod. The two regard the weaping Cavius prostrate on the ground. "Keep an eye on him," Validar will say to Acerion, as he uses his own sword to knock Cavius' weapons further from his reach.
Validar will then move to the standard of Rennydale that he stuck into the courtyard ground a few feet away and lift it into the air once more, with his shield hand. "Soldiers of Rennydale, this battle is ended! We have freed your Lord Cavius from the vile effects that warped him and corrupted Rennydale. Sheath your weapons and help us return Rennydale to its former glory!"
