With Sinasu the Hutt and the cargo meant for him secured back in the Archelon's hold, Ymira pilots the ship out of the district around TechTank. The previous combat was dangerous and only Xander escaped unwounded from the conflict with Tor Cordol and his bounty hunter team known as Cordol's Chain.
The R5 Astromech droid dutifully entered the coordinates to Nal Hutta. Sinasu the Hutt directed the team to go to meet his ship, the Red Nebula, to deliver himself and the crates of krayts to safety. Now the only issue was escaping Nar Shaddaa and the two ships that were after them. Ymira changed direction and headed for the upper atmosphere.
Hoping for the sturdiness of the Archelon to withstand the trailing ship's firepower, Ymira slowly increased the throttle but kept the ship as smooth and steady as possible. This allowed Zavi on the main dorsal mounted laser cannons to have more stable shots at their pursuers. The Archelon absorbed the first two hits, its shields and armor allowing little surface damage. Meanwhile, Zavi scored a powerful hit on one of the CloakShape fighters.
Things started to look a little bleak, when one of the fighters hit a critical connection and brought down the Archelon's shields. Xander and Irdis worked at trying to jam communications and slice the enemy's systems. Meanwhile, Roona did her best to manage things from the co-pilots seat. Ymira kept the ship steady despite the rocky bumps from repeated blaster hits.
Zavi worried that he might have to rush back to his engineering console to try and bring the shields back up. However, Irdis took it upon himself to try and repair some of the damage that the ship took. With a heads up from the mechanic on where to look, the Chiss physically locked down a loose inertial compensator using one of Zavi's hydrospanners. That immediately brought the shields back online.
Finally Zavi was able to once more hit one of the enemy ships and it burst into fire and headed downward for a crash into Nar Shaddaa's underbelly. This allowed them to quickly turn the fight in their favor. Roona suggested to Ymira to about face and she could help the fight with the ship's forward laser array.
Racing directly at it, the Archelon took out the second ship, first with a solid hit from Roona and another from Zavi as they passed by. Seeing and sensing no other pursuit, the Archelon made the short journey from Smugglers Moon to the main planet. Once there they headed for Spaceport 27 and transferred Sinasu and the krayts to his personal freighter.
Ymira was sure to speak up and ask for some extra compensation for rescuing the Hutt from his enemies, in addition to the payment for the transport of the krayts. Sinasu was reasonably grateful, for a Hutt anyway. He was also in a bit of a tight spot and negotiated like a cunning Hutt would. He started by reducing the transport payment due to allowing the bounty hunters to follow them to TechTank. He then offered an additional payment for his rescue and safety. However, it was to his benefit and ultimately also that of the team to offer something that cost him nothing additional.
As Sinasu had already paid for a portion of the Archelon, with the idea that he had the crew at his disposal, he was out no more credits to simply transfer his ownership of half of the ship over to them. He needed the credits more than the ship and he probably could get them to work for him anyway, he surmised.
Chain Reaction (Episode 14)

Re: Chain Reaction (Episode 14)
The team now finds themselves the sole owner of the Archelon, having negotiated with Sinasu the Hutt for his half of the title to the ship in exchange for the transport of the Krayts and the rescue from the Cordol's Chain attack, including Tor Cordol himself. They would have to return to Nar Shaddaa to complete the transaction. This left them a bit lower on credits, but the equivalent value of the mission was around 30,000 credits. The team seemed quite satisfied with that arrangement and the additional freedom it likely afforded them.
The team now had the opportunity to browse the shops of the Nar Shaddaa middle-city, gamble, heal, and perhaps even discover some black-market contacts that can provide them with unique gear. Ymira found herself a suitable hat in black with a deep purple band, which she had been looking for awhile now. Irdis also bought a smugglers coat. Roona meanwhile dove headfirst into her favorite past time at the Side Deck cantina. Despite some good natured ribbing from others on the crew, she returned 800 credits ahead and not being chased by enemies. She put 400 of those credits back into the group fund, a partial repayment for her bounty which had been paid one and a half times, thanks to the turncoat Kel Daro.
Zavi meanwhile went about purchasing the parts and supplies needed to repair the hull damage that the ship took in the recent firefight. The Squib mechanic was able to repair quite a bit of the damage, although there were a few scorched areas and one armor panel along the top of the ship that still needed some work.
Xander had gone looking for information on Tor Cordol himself and after being sent around to a few places for the information, was told the truth about the bounty hunter. Tor Cordol was a bad man. Many bounty hunters worked solo or in small groups, but Cordol actively recruited and trained other bounty hunters. He was a deadly shot. The team could attest to that as he nearly took out all of them in the last battle. It was a testament to their own skill and equipment that all but Xander were not dead or at least incapacitated. The team had made a serious enemy inadvertantly.
While Irdis and Ymira were out together, the Mirialan felt herself being watched or tailed or something, she wasn't completely sure. Splitting up to try and get a better drop on the tail, eventually the chase came to an easy end. Or so it seemed at first.
As night draws near and the crowd at the bazaar starts to thin, they could see a cloaked figure parting through the crowd – not able to see his face, but he steps with purpose directly towards you. As he approaches, he lowers a hood and you can see that it’s a middle-aged human male, worn and haggard as most of the people here. He raises his hand in greeting: “You there, Mirialan, were you with the group that came in earlier this day?” He describes their group.
Ymira was suitably wary and started to counter with her own questions.
“The name’s Lorik Feryss. My... err... my ally told me to watch you. It said you could play a vital part in the task I have to accomplish.”
Despite a couple of attempts to learn about the identity of this ally, Lorik was not willing to disclose this information, relying on the unspoken trust of informants. This seemed to satisfy the smuggler pilot.
“I’m a historian, you see, and I’ve been searching for a particular ancient artifact for several years. I’ve recently come across hyperspace coordinates to a lost planet, a planet I believe holds the key to finding this artifact. I’m looking for transport to this planet and protection while I’m there. My... ally informed me that you were the group best suited for this task. Will you help?"
Ymira quickly asked what their help was worth.
“You mean aside from discovering one of the most historically significant finds of the modern era? I do have a reasonable sum of credits set aside for expenses like this, and I’d be happy to offer 2000 credits for each member of your party. Not only that, but you’d be getting the chance to explore a planet believed lost for centuries – who knows what you could find there!"
With Irdis joining her once more, the pair agreed to the transport and protection job. It was a significant pay for what seemed like easy work. Of course Ymira had once before pointed out that every easy job except for the trip to Arda II had some additional issues that came up. That however was part of living in the Outer Rim as a fringer.
The historian taps on his datapad for a few moments, and then says, "Excellent. As a sign of good faith, here’s a passkey to the account that will hold those credits. One passkey. The account requires both the passkey you have right there and then a second passkey I’ve left with a friend on Mon Calamari. When we’re all done, we can come back here and open that account for you.”
He hands you a small data cylinder. "Now I believe you came here on a ship? We should probably hurry. I... ah... your protection may be required sooner rather than later.”
"That's what I was worried about," Ymira grumbled.
As soon as you start heading down the ramp towards the airspeeder, you see Lorik Feryss make a “halt” gesture towards you. After a heartbeat, he rasps, “Get down!” You all fall to a knee to see blaster shots whiz past your heads. “I was afraid of this,” Feryss sighs. “My pursuers have found me a little before I would have hoped. We need to make a clean break for the speeder pad and make it back to your ship with haste. These Ubese will just keep coming if they think they’ve got me cornered here."

Re: Chain Reaction (Episode 14)
The Ubese opened fire and pinned the trio down quickly with fire. A hit to the airspeeder kept it from completing the start up sequence and the ship was quickly radioed to prepare for their arrival and quick departure. Xander and R5 got the ship ready to depart. Roona jumped into the pilot seat and the ship took off. There was no point in waiting for them to arrive, when the remaining three could go and rescue them.
Roona was not an especially experienced star pilot. But she was good at maneuvering her landspeeder through tough terrain and had naturally quick reflexes. She weaved the Archelon through the spires of Nar Shaddaa as they homed in on the signal location of their teammates. Zavi was ready with the dual laser cannon to give the Ubese a really bad day.
Moments later, Roona brought the ship in on a vertical angle to give the dorsal mounted weapon a wide angle at the enemy speeder. Zavi shot and the speeder was knocked out of the air. Unable to land here with the size of the ship, the mechanic rappelled down to his teammates level to repair the rented speeder.
The team informed Lorik that they had another mission that they need to do first on Arda II. The team had made a contract with Lissa Kale to bring their mining group general supplies and now they were overdue. After some discussion about whether to try and get a better deal on Toydaria, where negotiating was a bit of an art or just going to Saki for a less stressful number of purchases, the team decided on Saki. Lorik was just happy to be off Nar Shaddaa. On Saki the ship is refueled and more consumables are brought on board.
The trip to Arda II goes without incident fortunately. En route Irdis receives a message from Tora Ninn, the xenobiologist that worked with Dr. Gena Tann. The team had rescued them recently on their trip to find an old collection of scientific data. Tora informed Irdis that she felt that someone had been recently following herself and Dr. Tann. Unfortunately there was not much Irdis could do from here. Irdis gave her access to his personal place on Rodia.
Upon arrival in the Arda system, they pass through the Imperial checkpoint without an inspection. Things go smoothly and Lissa pays them, which results in a small profit. Before they depart however, Lissa takes Xander aside and into a safe room, where there is no chance of being overheard or bugged. Lissa indicates that a contingent she is part of is looking for a special delivery to be smuggled in. Xander asks what it is and she reveals that she wants the team to smuggle in blaster rifles. They are looking for 40 rifles and will pay as much as 1200 credits each to have them brought in and past the Imperial checks.
Xander takes this information back to the team and they try to decide how to go about acquiring these weapons and what the potential payoff might be. Lorik gives Xander the hyperspace coordinates and he feeds them into R5-D12. He says that this should be a quiet trip as no one else has these hyperspace coordinates. R5 chirps up and confirms that there are no active records of any hyperspace lanes immediately near these final coordinates. However the Daragon Trail would take them from the local system to the Deep Core!
After a long and uneventful trip, the ship drops out of hyperspace at its destination. “This should be right; it looks like we’re in the place the coordinates specify,” says Feryss. “We’ll need to find a place to set down."
