Lilia:
Lia wrote:She will find Allurien and Lilia. “May I have a moment in private?”
“Of course, Lia,” Lilia answers.
Lia wrote:“Yesterday when I had that funny feeling, I went to go look. I found Eilistraee’s altar hidden from non believers. There is an armory of drow made weapons and I found something more. She slowly takes the tabard of the Darksong knights and shows the Queen and Speaker. “They were not myths. They were your guards to the underneath and Underdark.”
“I suspected as much,” Lilia states. “I could feel the presence of Corellon not far away as well. It is fitting that his daughter is close by.”
Allurien wrote:“That's wonderful, Lia,” Speaker Allurien says. “It seems now that we have five separate organizations to the protect the Sylvan Realm for the threats it faces. Although I do imagine that it will be difficult for you to gain new followers way out here.”
“Regardless of what does happen in the future, I am sure that the Darksong Knights are in good hands, Lia,” Lilia says.
Laucian wrote:“When we left the spiders that dwelled there had been eradicated. Our people were within Telsun until Einsun was clear. Clan Grunalf is now settling in to our ancestral home and mourning the 4 elves that gave their lives for the clan.”
“Spiders, you say?” Lilia wonders aloud. “I was not aware that you had any difficulties, but news does travel slowly.”
Laucian wrote:“It was no easy feat. Our arrows could not penetrate it’s armor, thankfully our mages were with us. They turned the tide of battle.”
“It is good that you were able to free Einsun,” Lilia states. “I will have to visit when I have the chance.”
Silvarn wrote:“It's slang,” Silvarn explains. “Elfin kind more or less comes in three different sizes. Those who are like Myev here. She is a tall elf, a telf for short. Then there are those who are similar to humans in stature and lastly those elves, such as yourself, who are smaller.”
Lilia listens as Silvarn explains her use of the word 'telf'. “I see,” Lilia says accepting the explanation. She does wonder, given this new revelation, what are elves of her size called? Self's?
Silvarn guides the Sunflower to the Karn's Keep in a matter of minutes. To be able to travel so quickly is a wondrous thing! If we can do this, then we would be able to make trips back to the Elfholds on a weekly basis instead of waiting for the Rainbow Bridge to open. This opens up a great many opportunities for trade and getting supplies.
We meet the twins on the dock and they escort us into the Keep. Although by now Lilia is confident that she can find her own way. The twins explain what Karn's Keep is to those who have not been here before. Lilia is content to follow along and is used to the giant-sized structure.
Soon we reach the meeting area and find it filled with many individuals the majority of which seem to be dwarves. Lord Sharadin is speaking to a human woman dressed in a uniform similar that the one worn by the captain of the Lady Iris. That is a concern to Lilia.
Then there are three human males, two of which are unusual looking. Dragons in disguise?
Lord Sharadin calls the gathering to order.
“Good, you've made it,” the Archmage of Cynalon calls out. “Lets get the introductions out of the way. Quiet please! It's time to begin.”
“That is a lot o' elves,” one of the dwarves in the back calls out. “And so far from a forest!” That brings laughs from those in back and an annoyed glance of the male dwarf up front.
“It's been a long times since I've seen so many dwarves sober,” Andlin calls out, bringing another round of laughter from many of the dwarves.
Lilia will flash a smile at Andlin's response to the dwarves, but otherwise makes no comment on it.
Lord Sharadin introduces the dwarves as a military unit from the dwarven army. An elite unit at that. That does sound promising. Front line fighters are always needed.
The human female is introduced.
Gesturing to the uniformed woman on one side of the dwarves, Lord Sharadin introduces her as, “This is Captain Antilles Roma, of the 5th Imperial Alphatian Navy. Commander of the peacekeeping currently patrolling Cynalon.”
“Good to meet you,” Captain Roma says with a distinct Alphatian accent. “If this HIVE is as dangerous as Lord Sharadin suggests, then they must be eliminated to protect the empire. I am happy to assist in this matter. My flagship, the Dauntless, will meet us at the battle site. We will deliver a decisive and devastating blow to the enemy.”
Lilia nods her approval. Additional mage power and ground forces are a solid combination. Silvarn introduces her recruits.
Silvarn picks up the introductions for the three men who remain separate from everyone else. “I brought with me three individuals whom I have worked with separately in the past,” Silvarn explains. “They are Saryn (the Polynesian looking one), Lothtor (the normal looking one) and Quirin (the one with the colorful feathers.)”
Each name nods as introduced, but says nothing. They seem to be gauging the new arrivals and cannot help but stare at Myev.
Lilia continues to suspect that two, if not all three, are not what they appear to be, but otherwise does not comment on the matter. Silvarn trusts them and that is what matters.
Lord Sharadin wrote:“Joining us is Queen Lilliathelionn Allandros of the Sylvan Realm and her associates,” Lord Sharadin speaks aloud turning to the elves.
Taking her cue, Lilia handles the rest of the introductions gesturing towards her companions as she calls them by name. “May I introduce Laucian Nailo, Valena Feador, Kylie Lanthorn, Lia and Talen Galandal, Arlen and Onas Brightsword, Andlin Alastra, Gweyr Autumnfire and last, but not least, Myev.”
“Pleasure to meet you all,” Lord Sharadin will say. “Let's take a few moments to mingle and then we can get down to planning our assault.”
Myev pays little attention to those in the room and is seemingly oblivious to their looks. Instead she makes a beeline to the maps and starts to poor over them with great excitement.
Lilia notes Myev's interest in the maps. She starts to walk in that direction, but pauses to get Lord Sharadin's attention.
“Lord Sharadin, a word if I may?” Lilia inquires. “Myev is skilled in navigation. May she peruse your collection of maps?”
Assuming the answer is yes, Lilia will go over to Myev.
“Lord Sharadin says its okay to examine the maps,” Lilia tells Myev. “Are these helpful to you? Will they give you the information you need to navigate the Sunflower?”
On her way back to the others, Lilia will say a few words to the Alphatian Captain.
“Captain Roma,” Lilia calls out. “I don't believe I have met an officer in the Alphatian Navy before. I look forward to see your ship in action. I assume it has a full compliment of Spell Engines? How does it compare to the Sunflower?”
A few minutes later, Lord Sharadin will direct everyone to one of the tables in this vast chamber. It was here that Lord Karn plotted and planned his campaigns. This was a battle table complete with figurines and terrain features to map out a battle site.
“Unfortunately, we don't have much details on what we are walking into,” Lord Sharadin states. “Therefore I haven't done much in the way of setting up a version of the battle site. I was hoping that Talen could fill in some of the details. Such as where the Pillar Artifacts are in within the elder city."
Lilia looks towards Talen to see if he has any insights on this Elder City in the swamp.
Lord Sharadin wrote:“I have only a bare bones plan thus far,” Lord Sharadin continues. “We'll all enter the ruins together and establish a foothold at one of the Pillar Artifacts. I've had one of the Spell Engines from the Lady Iris removed from the ship and mounted on a cart with wheels. We'll push this Spell Engine through the portal with us.”
“On the other side we'll establish a perimeter. My daughters will control the Spell Engine and erect a defensive shield around the Pillar Artifact to keep the HIVE from reaching it. Talen will remain there as well, as he is our way out should we need to withdraw. From there, the rest of us advance in groups and take out targets as we come across from them.”
“That is brilliant!” Lilia calls out. She had never considered using a Spell Engine in such a manner before, only in regards of a ship. But as she read in the instruction manual, the Spell Engine needs to be secured to something for it to function. Clearly that something does not need to be a sailing ship. Plus the plan keeps Talen safe, which is something Lilia fully approves of.
Captain Roma and Silvarn add there own comments on what they intend to do. Talk then turns to the subject of the HIVE themselves.
Lord Sharadin wrote:“Anyone have anything else to add?” Lord Sharadin inquires.
“At the moment, no, Lord Sharadin,” Lilia states. “We'll know more once we have entered the Elder City and are face to face with the HIVE.”
