Vacations / Absenses

Post by fanchergw »

It seems like we need a convenient place around here to let everyone know when we will be away and unable to participate. Creating a thread for the purpose here in the forum seems to make sense.

I'll start.

I'll be out of town from Saturday through Wednesday. Don't know if I will have internet access or the opportunity to use it, so don't count on me posting during that time.

Thanks,

Gordon

Thanks, Bruce! Yup, it was personal, not business. Due to weather and teenage grumbling not quite as pleasurable as it could have been, but pretty good nevertheless.

Off to New Orleans!

Post by fanchergw »

We are leaving in the morning (Saturday) for New Orleans. Business trip for Tracy, but pleasure for Cora and I. We'll be back next Friday. My wife is bringing her laptop, so I may by able to get online occasionally, but no promises.

Thanks! We're back now, mostly unmarked by the wear-and-tear.

All I can say is that the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans is a terrible hotel - and it's supposed to be one of the best in the city.

Have stayed in New Orleans a couple times, but don't remember where. Was there in 1993, 1994 and 1996. Enjoyed the things to see, loved the food. The city itself is pretty scrappy though. The hotel I sayed in was just outside of the Quarter a bit - walking distancs.

Sorry you had a bad experience!

I found out today at work that I'm being sent to New Jersey next week. Looks like I'll leave somewhere around Tuesday and be there about 5-6 weeks. Should have a few trips back and forth, but not every week. Tracy and Cora should be able to come out and play tourist one week as well.

Don't know how this will affect my posting. All I can say is that the hotel had better have internet service!

Just found out this morning that the assignment is in Raritan, NJ. I will probably be staying in one of those "extended stay" type hotels, probably around Somerset.

Laucian, I would love to meet up with you or anyone else who lives in the area. Always nice to have a friend when in a strange place.

We leave early tomorrow morning for sunny (hopefully) southern California and won't return until the following Saturday. Since my wife's laptop died, I won't likely have internet access for the week.

Please feel free to move my characters along as needed.

I will be gone Tuesday through Saturday (21st-25th) on vacation. If my wife brings her laptop, I might be able to get on occasionally in the evening. However, I don't know if the hotel even has internet access in the rooms.

I am leaving tomorrow morning on vacation and will be gone through Saturday. I may or may not have some form of internet access, but I'll be pretty busy entertaining my 3 year old daughter.

Sorry I've been absent lately. I've been sick (nothing serious) the last couple weeks and haven't felt like doing anything I didn't have to. Not entirely up to par yet, but I'm trying to get caught up on my posting.

No worries, Gordon.

We all do this just for fun and real life is more important. Get better soon!

Anniversary

Post by fanchergw »

My wife and I are going out of town this weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I may not have internet access as a result, so you might not hear from me until Monday or so.

Just a heads up. This weekend is one of my bussiest of the year. Will probably end up working both Saturday and Sunday. Consequently, don't expect much in the way of posts and updates this weekend. (May 10th and 11th.)

Yeah, I've been pretty busy lately myself. Works been very busy and on top of that I've been working to land a new job. Friday I signed the acceptance and turned in my two week notice at my current employer. The new job is a significant step up for me, both professionally and financially. However, it's going to impact my free time, as well.

We will be leaving for vacation in Europe on July 31st and returning on Aug 15th. I know I won't have internet access for part of the time, and will probably be pretty busy with the family even when I do. Expect spotty to non-existent posting for 2 - 3 weeks.

Regards, Gordon (AKA Kylie, Grondar, Yusef, Lily Pak / Menagerie, Butternut, and...)
