Sylvan Realm #22 (#66)

December 2nd, CR 571 or Deepnight 24th, 20,519 AP

This eventful day is drawing to a close. The Rainbow Bridge opened and for the afternoon the Sylvan Realm and the Elfholds were connected. Some 1300 elves have moved from the Elfholds to reclaim their Clan Holds in the Sylvan Realm. Lots of new faces to meet and greet. Along with this mass of elves, many priests of the various elfin faiths have arrived as well.

Before the Clan Council gathering:

Laucian and Valena speak to Klovar, a Druid of Ehlonna.
Laucian wrote:“That is incredible! I did not realize just how vital sanctifying the altar is to our faith.” Laucian says as he recalls his training at Ehlonna’s temple. It would seem that his temple saw him as an instrument to spread Ehlonna’s influence instead of maintaining it, which would explain his skill with a bow and the outdoors. “I will be there tomorrow, Klovar. My clan can make due without me for a time. Time that I can easily over come with Aura.”
“Thank you, Forest Brother,” Klovar gratefully states. “We shall all make the journey in the morning. As I understand it, the road to the east gives us the shortest path to the Shrine.”

Kylie wrote:Kylie smiles at the former King of the Elfholds. "Sure, I'd be happy to help." She leads Doriath to the base of the tree and then asks his help in identifying the leaders of the various clans. Leveraging her knowledge of the surroundings and Doriath's knowledge of the various clans' preferences, she will select areas bounded by natural terrain features for each of the clans so that they can have an area to call their own during their brief stay. She will take her time, working with one clan and then the next, and doing her best to answer any questions that they may have.
As she works to assist Doriath in helping the various clans get settled in for the evening, Kylie has the opportunity to meet with many of the newly arrived Clan Elders. She also starts to get a sense just how big each clan is.

Clan Erendyl is the largest of the main seven clans. Some 300 colonists have arrived under the guidance of a trio Clan Elders: Cavoda Norodir, Finduala Eloroth, Nithion Erendyl. Clan Chossum is the next biggest with 250 new arrivals and a pair of Clan Elders: Garion Berladal and Vaniel Nardir.

Clan Red Arrow comes in third as far as new arrivals goes with 200 elves. Their Clan Elders are Evenlance and Lunawind. Clan Feador is the smallest of the new arrivals with just 100 new elves to augment the 200 already here. A lone Clan Elder by the name of Locian Feador made the trip.

The remaining clans, Grunalf, Long Runner, and Mealidil are roughly the same size with 150 or so elves. Everyone has already met Elder Treelife from the Grunalf Clan, but joining him is a lady elf named Melenes Atholan. Clan Elders for Long Runner are Emberhide and Clearchaser, while Amara Alda is the lone Elder for Clan Mealidil.
Kylie wrote:During a brief break in the action, Kylie turns to Doriath with a question that has been on her mind every since the Rainbow Bridge opened. "Doriath, do you happen to know if there were any half-elves among those who arrived today?" She would love to have a larger group to work toward creating the new clan proposed by Lilia.
“There are none,” Doriath admits shamefully. “Traditionally, half-elves are not allowed in the Elfholds. Perhaps this ill-thought out policy will be changed now that so many half-elves have helped to save the Mother Tree. Your deeds may spur a great many changes.”

Clan Business:
Lilia wrote:“While there is much that we do not know,” Lilia says speaking up, “I have asked Sheeryl to continue to cast Divinations so that we can better understand the situation we will be in eight days from now. We also do not know what sort of divinations the slavers made to find their ship either. After all, the scro stole their ship to begin with. So they are most likely assuming that they will be dealing with scro and not elves. They may not even know about us and moving the Sunflower up to the ruins will just help in this matter.”
“We will have other priests make Divinations as well,” King Miritar vows. “We need all the knowledge that we can get.”
Lilia wrote:“It sounds like we have a plan, Clan Master,” Lilia says in agreement. “I am very pleased to see all elves coming to the aid of the Sylvan Realm and the Mother Tree in our time of need.”
“While we elves as individuals or even as Clans may not see eye to eye, the safety and welfare of the Mother Tree is the one thing we call all agree on,” Redsword Truetalker states. “We will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe.”
Lilia wrote:“Than it will be a good test on how much the Sunflower can carry,” Lilia states. “Have your clan ready to move their supplies onto the Sunflower come the morning. Then we will begin our journey to your clan hold and the Royal Palace. I think you will find it to be an enjoyable experience.”
“I will be made so, Your Majesty,” Wyndel Goldenleaf answers with a bow.

Onas and Laucian speak to Allurien.
Onas wrote:"I will see to it, Council Head Allurien," Onas replies, bowing. "The Forest Riders will be ready." He wants to be seen as serious and a good military leader, so Onas behaves in a regimented manner - particularly in front of the Head of the Council.
“Thank you, Onas,” Allurien easily replies. “Hopefully there won't be too much excitement as the Clans return to their ancestral homes.”
Laucian wrote:“I will make it so. Our numbers are not great, a fact I wish to remedy, But I will instruct the griffons to function as aerial scouts.” When Laucian gets a moment, he will speak to Valis, Niles, Cain, Luciard and Breeze. Each will be assigned to their own clan where possible.
“You have may thanks, Laucian,” Allurien answers.

Of the five Griffon Riders so far, Cain and Niles are also from Clan Grunalf, while Luciard and Breeze Swiftflow are both from Clan Long Runner. Valis is from Clan Red Arrow so someone will need to travel with Clan Chossum, Clan Mealidil and Clan Erendyl.

Onas wrote:After the meeting, Argus joins him near the map table as agreed. "I had also considered taking the road toward the Centaur Village, and then heading directly south just before reaching this small hill here," Onas says as he traces the route with his finger. "Mealiel is almost exactly half way between the two routes. However, the more easterly route is a bit shorter, so you are likely right that they will go that way. Though I think we should check up on the Centaur Village in the near future, getting our clan settled is the first priority."
“At least let them know that the number of elves in the forest has grown and will continue to grow,” Argus suggests. “While I have not dealt with many centaurs before, no reason to cause them alarm.”

Soon after that Clan Master Argus Bloodmoon introduces Onas to the sergeants of the Forest Riders. Onas lays out his plans for the Forest Riders and how their forces will be divided to deal with the settlers moving back to their Clan Holds.
Onas wrote:Onas pauses at this point. "Any questions?" Part of him is afraid that he may have come on too strong. However, this being their first meeting, he feels it is imperative to establish his authority and prepare the troop for the morrow. With so much happening, there is no time to waste in getting organized.
“No sir!” the five sergeants call out in unison as they stand at attention.

“You may want to consider one thing, Onas,” Clan Master Argus suggests. “One of the five clans that they would be guarding is our own clan, which given our clan specialty may not be necessary. After all, I am assuming that you and your brother will be riding with us? You may wish to leave a sergeant back at the Mother Tree. Your decision, of course.”

A Night of Celebration:

The sun has set and the Rainbow Bridge has closed. The new arrivals to the Sylvan Realm are congregating around the base of the Mother Tree. Lorelei and other musicians and singers are providing song and music to lighten the hearts of all elves. The Feywine flows freely and all are having a good time.

More meetings are taking place.
Kylie wrote:Kylie smirks. "The Royal Palace that we haven't actually cleared yet. Perhaps we should sleep on the ship tonight. I think Lilia had been planning to move it to the Palace tomorrow anyway, so at least we won't get left behind." As long as her mother and Dapple are with her, she doesn't really care where she sleeps.
“That makes sense,” Allurien agrees. “We'll be there when they are ready to leave in the morning.”

Laucian catches up to Elder Treelife.
Laucian wrote:“I was wondering if you might like to ride Starfire? He is a good mount, a bit spirited as you could tell. I would be honored if you would.” He says simply.”
“Of course, I will Laucian,” Elder Treelife will happily answer. “Do you plan to leave Starfire at the clan stable?”
Laucian wrote:For a time he will dance and frolic with his kin As he takes a break from the dancing, Laucian becomes aware of Gweyr slipping beside him. “Quite the day, huh?”

“Aye,” he says with a slight smile as he sees Gweyr, “It is good to see so many of our people come home. Did you see anyone you were hoping for?” he asks curiously as he takes a sip of Feywine. As a Ballad begins to play, Laucian will ask Gweyr if she wishes to dance.
“A few familiar faces,” Gweyr answers as she accepts the invitation the dance. “Clan Elder Emberhide has arrive and he was one of my favorites when I was a little girl.”

Lilia has met the newly arriving Priests who will be tending to Corellon Larethian's temple in the Sylvan Realm.
Lilia wrote:“Well met, Fey brother,” Lilia says in greeting. “I am pleased that you have come to tend to the temple as I do not see me having enough time to do so on my own. No, I have not see the Temple as of yet. I haven't had the luxury of time to seek it out. Do you know where it is?”
“It is part of the Royal Palace,” High Priest Mclandrach explains. “But just where in the Palace, I cannot say for sure.”

Onas is meeting the priests of his faith, those who follow the One and the Three.
Onas wrote:Seeing the small group, Onas approaches with a smile. He has met Sheeryl previously since arriving here in the Realm, so he addresses her first. "Hello, priestess Soulsearcher. A pleasure to see you again."
“Good evening, Onas Brightsword,” Sheeryl answers. “Please join us. Many of our associated faiths have traveled to the Sylvan Realm to restore the Halls of Trifold Harmony.”
Onas wrote:He knows priestess Zylleth as a result of his own training, though he never met her personally. The others he does not recognize, so he waits while Sheeryl performs introductions. He then greets each of them in turn in the appropriate manner among priests of the faith, starting with Soliana. "Welcome to the Sylvan Realm! I am very pleased to meet all of you, and look forward to serving the Triune Goddess with you."
The various priests and priestess exchange greetings with Onas. High Priestess Soliana Zylleth asks if Onas has seen their temple yet.
Onas wrote:"Sadly, no, I have not," Onas replies. "In fact, I do not know where it is. Do any of the ancient texts provide any clues to its location?"
“It is a little north of Pinit and the Royal Palace,” Soliana explains. “Corellon's main temple is in the palace, and we traditionally build their temples close to each other.”
Onas wrote:Onas pauses for a moment. "I would be happy to help with the ritual of Sanctification. In the morning, I will be leaving to lead the Clan Red Arrow settlers to our clan home of Walltree. Once that is done, I will join you and participate in the ritual. I look forward to seeing the Halls of Trifold Harmony and worshiping within their embrace."
“It will be several days before we are ready,” Soliana continues. “The temple will no doubt need a good cleaning after sitting unused for such a long time.”

After the Queen alerts the celebrators of the existence of the various Sylvan Realm Orders, applicants start to arrive to each of the leaders.

Around a dozen lady elves come up to Valena to ask for more information about the Silver Maidens. Surprisingly, Lia is one of them!
Laucian wrote:As the music starts up again, “It would see fate is cruel. It brings us all together only to see us part ways for a time. I am afraid we will not see a night like tonight for some time. Once our clans reclaim their homes, May I see you again?” he asks.
“I would be disappointed if you didn't,” Gweyr answers with a sly smile. “We'll meet again and soon. I'll be traveling on the Sunflower with the Queen and my clan. I'll be down in Pinit helping get settled in or on a mission for the Queen's Guard. Our paths will cross again. I will not accept any other possibility.”

Many elves come up to Laucian to inquire about riding griffons to their clan holds. Others are looking to join as well. One of the applicants is familiar to Laucian as it is Dorotha Kenig. She is a scout who is also from Clan Grunalf. (Laucian and Dorotha talked before, back in Elfquest.)

Onas will get some applicants as well, but he is much more limited as the only horses around to ride are those that just came over the Rainbow Bridge, not including Laucian's horse Starfire. A waiting list is started.

The Queen's Guard does not see as many applicants as the vast majority of the new arrivals are not adventurers. But there are nearly fifty members already made up of the members of the expeditions to restore the Mother Tree.

The hour gets late and many start to turn in for the evening. Lilia, Allurien and Kylie, and Lia all end up back on the Sunflower. Talen is there and will wonder who the day went. Valena retires to the quarters she has been using at Golden Peak on top of the Mother Tree.

Onas makes his way up the Mother Tree to its Heart. He finds Laucian and his animal companions already there settling in for the evening.

GM Notes:

Some decisions to be made for the day to come. Is Onas going to send Forest Riders along with Clan Red Arrow? As far as the Griffon Riders go, Valis will lead griffon riders who travel with Clan Red Arrow. Assuming that you want one rider to go with one clan each, you want to choose whom goes where or let them work it out?

Cain, Niles and Laucian are all from Clan Grunalf, and Luciard and Breeze are Clan Long Runner. Many elves will be happy to ride griffons to their Clan Holds but probably are not looking to become a full member. There are enough griffons around that about five can be ridden with each clan. There are enough adventurers to ride them.

I'll start to advance things to tomorrow with the next post.

I've updated and expanded the support threads in the upper part of the forum list. The People post lists the Clan Council, the various orders and free agent elves. The Clan thread breaks things down by clan and the gods lists show who are priests and rangers to the various elfin deities.

Now what?

Kylie Lanthorn the Half-Elven:

Getting the various newcomers settled for the night takes the entire afternoon. It is good work, and Kylie has the opportunity to meet many of the elves. including most of the Clan Elders. Clearly, some clans sent more of their people than others, and she starts to get some sense of how many are here from each clan. The number of Clan Elders present tends to be more for the larger clans and less for the smaller, as one might expect.
Doriath wrote:“There are none,” Doriath admits shamefully. “Traditionally, half-elves are not allowed in the Elfholds. Perhaps this ill-thought out policy will be changed now that so many half-elves have helped to save the Mother Tree. Your deeds may spur a great many changes.”
Kylie sighs, disappointed but not really surprised by the news. "It seems I have my work cut out for me then. Lilia's idea of creating a half-elven clan is more radical than I had realized."

===
Allurien wrote:“That makes sense,” Allurien agrees. “We'll be there when they are ready to leave in the morning.”
"Exactly what I was thinking, Mom," Kylie says with a smile. "I guess we are pretty alike."

The ship isn't far, and they arrive soon. Kylie greets Talen briefly, but is too tired to stay up talking so she goes straight to the room that she had used previously. It doesn't take long to get ready for bed. She spends a little while relaxing with Dapple before settling in for sleep.

Having been the first to bed, she is one of the first up in the morning. Kylie refreshes her spells before having a quick, simple breakfast. If time allows, she'll fly back to Mother Tree to check on Myev.

Onas Brightsword:
Allurien wrote:“Thank you, Onas,” Allurien easily replies. “Hopefully there won't be too much excitement as the Clans return to their ancestral homes.”
Onas smiles at the Head of the Clan Council. "Excitement, yes. But hopefully not carelessness. There may yet be many dangers here of which we are not yet aware." He is pleased by her apparent faith in him and his company of Forest Riders, though they have far to go in order to really establish themselves as worthy of that faith.

===
Argus wrote:“At least let them know that the number of elves in the forest has grown and will continue to grow,” Argus suggests. “While I have not dealt with many centaurs before, no reason to cause them alarm.”
"Indeed," Onas replies with a nod. "It is my understanding that the Chosen had dealings with the centaurs in their quest to restore Mother Tree. However, they are unlikely to know that so many more of us have arrived. Best to be up-front with them and assure them of our peaceful intentions. I suspect that Allurien may want to engage in trade or other negotiations with them over time."

===

The discussion and disposition of the squad Sergeants goes well and Onas is pleased by his first foray into command. He has only been a sub-commander before, so this is a step up for him.
Argus wrote:“You may want to consider one thing, Onas,” Clan Master Argus suggests. “One of the five clans that they would be guarding is our own clan, which given our clan specialty may not be necessary. After all, I am assuming that you and your brother will be riding with us? You may wish to leave a sergeant back at the Mother Tree. Your decision, of course.”
"You make an excellent point, Clan Master," Onas agrees. "Once we arrive, most of our clan will be busy with settling in and other preparations. It will be good to have Riders to scout the region while that is going on. However, even though I will need to leave on church business shortly after we arrive, they can be overseen by you and my brother until I return. That leaves one sergeant free."

Onas turns to Hawksong. "Sergeant Hawksong. You will remain here with your third triplet to see to the defense of the Mother Tree and support of Clan Feador. The third triplet from each of the other squads will be your responsibility as well. Your other two triplets will make the trip to Walltree with us."

Taking a step back and adjusting his facing to take in all 5 sergeants, Onas releases them for the evening. "Notify your teams of the directives and responsibilities. And find some time to celebrate with the others - just not too much. Dismissed."

"Thank you for your valuable input, Clan Master. I appreciate it. Have a good evening and I will see you in the morning."

===
Sheeryl wrote:“Good evening, Onas Brightsword,” Sheeryl answers. “Please join us. Many of our associated faiths have traveled to the Sylvan Realm to restore the Halls of Trifold Harmony.”
"Thank you. It is good to see so many representing our Triune faith here."
Soliana wrote:“It is a little north of Pinit and the Royal Palace,” Soliana explains. “Corellon's main temple is in the palace, and we traditionally build their temples close to each other.”
Onas nods his understanding as he envisions the map table and the location described. "That makes sense. It is also fairly centrally located so as to be accessible to one and all."
Soliana wrote:“It will be several days before we are ready,” Soliana continues. “The temple will no doubt need a good cleaning after sitting unused for such a long time.”
"Since it is not too far from Walltree, I hope to arrive in time to take part in that holy work. No one of us should be too proud to get their hands dirty in the goddess' service."

After a time, the discussions with the other priests come to a close and Onas makes his way to the celebration area beneath Mother Tree's leafy boughs.

===
Onas will get some applicants as well, but he is much more limited as the only horses around to ride are those that just came over the Rainbow Bridge, not including Laucian's horse Starfire. A waiting list is started.
Smiling at the turnout, Onas greets the applicants. "Thank you for your interest in joining the Forest Riders. Currently, we are short of horses, but Sergent Nightstar will take your names for the waiting list. Once all of the clans are settled into their ancestral clan homes here in the Sylvan Realm, we will start up training and you will be contacted to participate."

===

Returning to the Heart, Onas finds Laucian and several of his animal companions already there. "Greetings, Laucian. It has been a momentous day, has it not? Then again, lately every day seems momentous.

"I see Myev has not yet emerged. I grow curious as to how long her transformation will take, and even moreso what she will be like when she finally does emerge."

Laucian's idea is a good one, and Onas feels a certain peace in this place. After a while, so long as Laucian doesn't object, Onas will settle himself in to spend the night here in the chamber where he beheld the face of Mother Tree.

Is there an appropriate shorter form of address for Allurien as Head of the Clan Council? For Lilia, there is 'Queen Lilia' or 'your majesty'. However, 'Head of the Clan Council Allurien' is quite a mouthful and kind of awkward.

Lilia:

The Rainbow Bridge has closed and the leaders of the Elfholds have gone back home. Down in the grounds beneath the Mother Tree, Lilia takes part in the celebration the new arrivals are having. Fellow priests of Corellon are located.
Mclandrach wrote:“It is part of the Royal Palace,” High Priest Mclandrach explains. “But just where in the Palace, I cannot say for sure.”
“Neither can I,” Lilia answers. “We did visit the palace, but it was protected by a giant magical thorny growth. Plus we did not have the proper pendants to delve too deeply into the complex. But tomorrow we shall begin to do so. We'll be taking the Sunflower there in the morning, High Priest. Perhaps you and your fellow followers would like to join us?”
Lia wrote:Recalling something she had not spoken of, she goes to find Queen Lilia, “Excuse me Lilia? Is it normal for one from the Elfholds to know what a drow is? I mean to know what it looks like?” she asks curiously as she looks down at her feet then up to meet the Queen’s eyes.
“We elves are told horrible stories about the drow and their treachery when we are children,” Lilia answers. “While many elves may have never seen a drow in person, I am sure that would recognize one if they saw one.”
Lia wrote:“There was an elf today that said he never knew what a drow looked like, better still that he wanted to look around as he was a leaf in the wind… “ Lia will say, she will go more in depth if Lilia asks.
“I'm not sure I like the sound of that,” Lilia admits. “Who was this elf? Is he here now?”

As the evening wears on, Lilia gets more and more tired until she decides to retire for the evening. She'll locate Andlin and ask he to keep the box she gave him safe. It will be needed in the morning when we go towards the Elfin Palace.

Lilia will make her way back to the Sunflower. There she will say hello to Talen and play with Lady for a bit before going into the chamber she used the night before and falls asleep. Today was wondrous, but tomorrow could be even more so!
Either by my magic or my bow you WILL fall!

Lia wrote:Curious, Lia approaches Valena and asks, “What are the requirements to join the Silver maidens?”
“Hello, Lia,” Valena says in greeting. “The requirements? They are very simple. You have to be accepted by a unicorn is the only requirement. But to be accepted you have to be pure of heart and dedicated to the greater good. Do you wish to try?”
“Last and certainly not least, there is the Order of the Silver Maidens. These is an elite unit of lady elves mounted on unicorns. They are commanded by Valena Feador.” Valena is indicated among the crowd. “If you are interested in joining any of these groups to help protect the Sylvan Realm, then speak to these people. For now enjoy yourselves as new challenges will arise tomorrow!”

Around a dozen lady elves come up to Valena to ask for more information about the Silver Maidens. Surprisingly, Lia is one of them!
“Welcome all,” Valena will call out to the applicants. “The main requirement for joining the Silver Maidens is that you have to be accepted by a unicorn. If you are interested, travel down the south road. There is a griffon stable there near the geyser fields. I will met you all there after I take care of some business at the Ehlonna Shrine. From there we can make our way to the Order Hall and have all of you tested.”

Valena will converse with the other Silver Maidens about their plans. Aiding ones clan is important, but fortunately Clan Feador has mostly been settled, so there is no long journey to undertake. Valena is hopeful the others can come along on the trip with the new potentials, but will understand if they cannot.

Next morning, Valena will meet up with Klovar and the other followers of Ehlonna. This time she will be mounted on River Blossom, her unicorn.

Lia
Lia has a fun night dancing and frolicking with the other elves. She approaches Valena and speaks to her about her regiment. “Hello, Lia,” Valena says in greeting. “The requirements? They are very simple. You have to be accepted by a unicorn is the only requirement. But to be accepted you have to be pure of heart and dedicated to the greater good. Do you wish to try?”
“Aye, I am curious to see. In truth, I don’t know.”She says thoughtfully at the Order head. “When we first defeated Moorkroft, there was talk of many units, the Golden Griffons, The Silver Maidens and the less known Darksong knights. I had thoughts of reforming the Darksong Knights once the Palace was reclaimed.
Perhaps I could meet one in time?” she asks curiously knowing that is sounds indecisive. “Besides tomorrow I am promised to liberating and cleaning out the Palace with Clan Long Runner.
Later on she finds Lilia and speaks to her about the elf known as Xavier.
“I'm not sure I like the sound of that,” Lilia admits. “Who was this elf? Is he here now?”
“He should be. I lost track of him shortly after the meeting was called.”The young drow states. “His name was Xavier.” And Lia goes on to tell Lilia of his features and handsome he was. “It was odd, at first I thought he was blind. But then he said I was beautiful and wished to look around. I think there was more to him then he let on. No home, No origin… only heard of the Slyvian realm upon coming to the elfholds. And he was quiet.. like a spirit or soft and subtle as the wind.”
Lia will look about here in the hopes to see Xavier.
Having her fill of fun for the night, Lia returns to the Sunflower she will check on Talen then go through her devotions and pray to her patron.
Come morning she will be ready to escort the Queen and Clan Long Runner to the Palace.
The last thing you shall hear is the bladesong of my sword.

Laucian
“You have may thanks, Laucian,” Allurien answers.
“It is our pleasure. Clan Head Allurien.” He says with a slight bow. “As you are new in your title. Would you like us to use your full title?” he asks Kylie’s mother curiously

-Valis Red Arrow,-Cain with Chossum, Niles with Grundalf and Luciard to Erendyl, As Long Runner has the ship I don’t feel a griffon is needed unless those who wish to ride them go.
With Elder Treelife-
“Of course, I will Laucian,” Elder Treelife will happily answer. “Do you plan to leave Starfire at the clan stable?”
“I had not thought of it much.’ He says simply. “I would imagine I would split my time between Aura and Starfire. One would assume that I would keep Starfire near the Palace and Mother tree as a griffon is not well suited for moving about the cities. There was a part of me, that for a moment, thought of offering him to Onas for his Forest riders. I am torn. ” He adds looking to his Elder. “I do have a question to you Clan Elder, In time when my adventuring days are over and our days are peaceful I would like to pass on my knowledge and skills. Could you help mentor me to become a better elf, perhaps in time to be an elder such as you were to Lilia and our clansmen?”
“A few familiar faces,” Gweyr answers as she accepts the invitation the dance. “Clan Elder Emberhide has arrive and he was one of my favorites when I was a little girl.”
Judging by the name he can’t help but wonder just how influential Elder Emberhide was to Gweyr as he takes her hand and begins to dance. “I trust he was the one that you your passion?”he asks curiously with hint a smile. “I would like to meet him, in time.”
“I will try not to disappoint.”he says simply a smirk crossing his weathered features. “It maybe sooner then you think. Once I accompany my clan to Enisun, I will have to see to the other stables and plan for our slaver friends. There is a stable in Pinit, if I am not mistaken. Perhaps I may call on you then?”he asks curiously.
Laucian greets those all in turn. He will see that all that wish to Join the Golden Griffons are welcomed. In fact a familiar face in Dorotha Kenig comes forward expressing interest. “Welcome Clanwoman. It would be a honor to have you ride us.” He says putting out his hand in the Grundalf style. “There are no requirements to join our ranks. Though we will teach those to fight with lance, spear and bow from our Griffon’s back.”
For those that wish to ride griffons to their clans home, Laucian will agree to it assigning griffons equally amongst the clans.( He will have Aura gather as many as she may.)

Laucian
Waling to the heart of the tree, Laucian plays with Conall and Sana. Once settled he will begin to play with Onyx with some string. After a time, he settles down, his eyes on Myev’s Cocoon as he absently pets onyx who is perched on his lap.
Returning to the Heart, Onas finds Laucian and several of his animal companions already there. "Greetings, Laucian. It has been a momentous day, has it not? Then again, lately every day seems momentous.
His solice is soon broken as he hears Onas’ words. “Greetings Onas. You are correct my friend, in many ways.” Thinking of his time with Gweyr, Clan Eldertree and the recruits to join the Golden Griffons. “A fruitful day Indeed. Our realm is starting to feel more and more like home. Our defenses seem to be growing.” He says thoughtfully to the Horse rider. “Did you enjoy the festivities?” he asks curiously having not interacted with Clan Red Arrow much.
"I see Myev has not yet emerged. I grow curious as to how long her transformation will take, and even moreso what she will be like when she finally does emerge."
“An elf with bad teeth perhaps?” he muses as he chuckles to himself. “Whatever form she is taking, she is taking her time doing so. I just hope she does not emerge when everyone is away. With us separating perhaps on of the Feador clan can see to her.”
As Laucian watches Onas settle in he makes no word of it. “I have instructed the Golden Griffons to accompany your riders. One rider per clan, plus 5 adventurer riders, if I am not mistaken. I have also asked them to see to the griffon stables upon clearing their village of any hostiles.
Once the clans are settled we will have to devise an early warning system so that if one clan is attacked the others are warned or prepared.”
Laucian will do his daily prayers and rituals. He will wake earlier than Onas gather up his gear quietly and depart. He will instruct his cooshees and Onyx to go to Starfire’s stable and await Clan Eldertree as a type of person guard. He will get ready Aura to ride and then any other griffons that are in the stables. As any elf appears he will instruct them how to ride them.
Once ready, Laucian will mount up on Aura to meet with the other followers of his faith, then on to find to his clan.

Onas Brightsword:
Laucian wrote:His solice is soon broken as he hears Onas’ words. “Greetings Onas. Our defenses seem to be growing.” He says thoughtfully to the Horse rider. “Did you enjoy the festivities?” he asks curiously having not interacted with Clan Red Arrow much.
"I know what you mean, Laucian. The arrival of so many has made the forest feel less... empty." Of course, it isn't really empty, as there are numerous animals everywhere, but Onas has missed the opportunity to interact with a wider group of people.

Laucian's question catches him by surprise. "Well... honestly, I spent most of my time meeting with Argus Bloodmoon, then with the sergeants of our newly-established Forest Riders, and finally with a group of priests who serve the Triune Goddess as I do. I did spend a little time enjoying the celebration before and after we were approached by some applicants, though. Unfortunately, we don't have mounts for the applicants, so we're going to start a training program once the clans all get settled in.

"How about you, my friend? Did you have a good time?"
Laucian wrote:“An elf with bad teeth perhaps?” he muses as he chuckles to himself. “Whatever form she is taking, she is taking her time doing so. I just hope she does not emerge when everyone is away. With us separating perhaps on of the Feador clan can see to her.”
Onas grins at his friend's comment. "She may surprise us both." He considers the situation regarding Myev's possible emergence. "That is true, as there should be plenty of them around. Also, I am leaving one of my sergeants here with a portion of our troops to defend Mother Tree and explore the surrounding area. I can let them know to keep an eye out for her."
Laucian wrote:As Laucian watches Onas settle in he makes no word of it. “I have instructed the Golden Griffons to accompany your riders. Once the clans are settled we will have to devise an early warning system so that if one clan is attacked the others are warned or prepared.”
Laucian's discussion of strategy draws a nod from Onas. "We will be happy for the presence of your griffon riders, my friend. We are sending a commander and two triplets of Forest Riders with each clan. Argus, Arlen, and myself will be traveling to Walltree with our clan. Upon arrival, our troops will be responsible for helping the settlers prepare defenses, restoring any stables they find, and exploring the surrounding areas. I think your Golden Griffons will be particularly valuable in the latter role, as well as maintaining communications between the exploration team and the town, and between towns."

When he arises, Onas finds that Laucian has already departed. He checks Myev's cocoon, then performs his daily devotions. After a few bites of food, Onas will seek out Sergeant Hawksong. "Sergeant, one other thing: I would like you to maintain a watch over Myev's cocoon in the Mother's Heart. Should she emerge, I imagine she may be somewhat disoriented. Please help her find Sheeryl, or one of the Elders or priests who can help her adjust to her new life."

That taken care of, Onas will go to collect Carad Orod from the stables. "We have a new land to explore, my friend, and far to go before we rest. I know not what challenges we may find along the way, so we will need to be ready for anything." After grooming, feeding, and saddling the proud warhorse, Onas rides to meet with the rest of his clan for the start of the long trek to Walltree.

Post Continued:

December 2nd, CR 571 or Deepnight 24th, 20,519 AP

The monumental day where the Elfholds and the Sylvan Realm were reunited is drawing to a close.

Kylie and Doriath:
Kylie wrote:Kylie sighs, disappointed but not really surprised by the news. "It seems I have my work cut out for me then. Lilia's idea of creating a half-elven clan is more radical than I had realized."
“Oh?” Doriath responds curiously. “A clan of half-elves? Tell me about this idea. I wish to know more.”

Talking to Allurien:
Onas wrote:Onas smiles at the Head of the Clan Council. "Excitement, yes. But hopefully not carelessness. There may yet be many dangers here of which we are not yet aware." He is pleased by her apparent faith in him and his company of Forest Riders, though they have far to go in order to really establish themselves as worthy of that faith.
“Elves have not lived in these ancient Clan Holds for nearly 10,000 years,” Allurien notes. “Much will have certainly changed during that long of a time. There could be much danger.”
Laucian wrote:“As you are new in your title. Would you like us to use your full title?” he asks Kylie’s mother curiously.
“Head of the Clan Council is rather cumbersome,” Allurien agrees. I am told that there is another title that is simpler. The Head of the Council speaks for the elves, so Speaker would be fine to use.”

Clan Red Arrow:
Onas wrote:"Indeed," Onas replies with a nod.
“Yes, we do not wish to deceive them in any manner,” Argus states. “Perhaps we can assist them in matters of defense, assuming that they even need such aid.”
Onas wrote:Onas turns to Hawksong. "Sergeant Hawksong. You will remain here with your third triplet to see to the defense of the Mother Tree and support of Clan Feador. The third triplet from each of the other squads will be your responsibility as well. Your other two triplets will make the trip to Walltree with us."
“Yes sir!”, the Sergeant calls out.
Onas wrote:Taking a step back and adjusting his facing to take in all 5 sergeants, Onas releases them for the evening. "Notify your teams of the directives and responsibilities. And find some time to celebrate with the others - just not too much. Dismissed."
“Sir, yes sir!” the Sergeants answer as they salute in the manner of the Red Arrows. They move off to carry out their directives.
Onas wrote:"Thank you for your valuable input, Clan Master. I appreciate it. Have a good evening and I will see you in the morning."
“You are welcome, Onas,” Clan Master Argus responds. “I am glad that you are receptive to advice as well. Command can be a big responsibility and many who are new to it try to go it alone. Such attitudes can lead to disaster.”

Meeting the Priests:
Onas wrote:Onas nods his understanding as he envisions the map table and the location described. "That makes sense. It is also fairly centrally located so as to be accessible to one and all.”
“That was the plan,” High Priestess Soliana answers. “Certain clans have strong ties to some of out gods, such as Feador with Rillifane Rallithal or the Mealidil's and Labelas Enoreth so those temples are close to those clans. Others like the One and the Three are revered equally by all elves, so, as you noted, a more central location was desired.”
Onas wrote:"Since it is not too far from Walltree, I hope to arrive in time to take part in that holy work. No one of us should be too proud to get their hands dirty in the goddess' service."
“We shall meet and talk later then, Onas,” Soliana says. “Then we can plan for the future of the faithful.”

Lilia wrote:“Neither can I,” Lilia answers.
“We would be delighted to,” High Priest Mclandrach answers. “I am most curious about this flying ship of yours. I suspect that this thorny growth is a defensive measure for the palace. Most likely generated by the Altar of the All-Father. I will need to Consecrate the Altar to be able to remove it.”

Recruitment Drive:
Valena wrote:“Welcome all,” Valena will call out to the applicants.
The applicants acknowledge their understanding and go their separate ways. Fayrianna and Annelwin, the other Silver Maidens, are close by as well.

“I will join you at the griffon stable with the other applicants,” Fayrianna states. “And then travel to the Order Hall with you. But from their I will rejoin my clan as they march to Walltree to settle in.”

“Same for me,” Annelwin adds. “The Grunalf Clan Hold is along the way, and easily reachable for me from the Order Hall. Let us hope we get some good recruits!”
Laucian wrote:Laucian greets those all in turn. He will see that all that wish to Join the Golden Griffons are welcomed. In fact a familiar face in Dorotha Kenig comes forward expressing interest. “Welcome Clanswoman. It would be a honor to have you ride us.” He says putting out his hand in the Grunalf style. “There are no requirements to join our ranks. Though we will teach those to fight with lance, spear and bow from our Griffon’s back.”
“Thank you, Laucian,” Dorotha says. “I admit I wasn't too keen on a flying mount before, but I can see the advantages of them. Scouting is my first love, and with a griffon mount, I can go further than I could before.”
Onas wrote:Smiling at the turnout, Onas greets the applicants. "Thank you for your interest in joining the Forest Riders. Currently, we are short of horses, but Sergeant Nightstar will take your names for the waiting list. Once all of the clans are settled into their ancestral clan homes here in the Sylvan Realm, we will start up training and you will be contacted to participate."
The applicants understand and will go to Sergeant Nightstar to sign up.

Xavier:
Lia wrote:Lia will look about here in the hopes to see Xavier.
The strange, but handsome elf is nowhere to be seen.

Elder Treelife:
Laucian wrote:“I had not thought of it much.’ He says simply. “I would imagine I would split my time between Aura and Starfire. One would assume that I would keep Starfire near the Palace and Mother tree as a griffon is not well suited for moving about the cities. There was a part of me, that for a moment, thought of offering him to Onas for his Forest riders. I am torn.”
“But how well can a horse navigate the upper reaches of the Mother Tree or the confines of the Royal Palace?” Elder Treelife counters. “Both are far above the ground. There are both bonuses and hindrances to either animal.”

“While it is noble to offer your mount to others,” Elder Treelife continues, “Starfire is not a warhorse and so not suited for the rigors of carrying an armored elf into battle. Perhaps let her live out the rest of her days with our clan? A horse on hand is always useful. Perhaps she can eventually be used to train the young to ride?”
Laucian wrote:He adds looking to his Elder. “I do have a question to you Clan Elder, In time when my adventuring days are over and our days are peaceful I would like to pass on my knowledge and skills. Could you help mentor me to become a better elf, perhaps in time to be an elder such as you were to Lilia and our clansmen?”
The Elder lets out a light chuckle at that statement. “Son, it is from living all those days, going on all those adventures, that will make you a fine Clan Elder one day. But not anytime soon. I have already taught you all that I know, all that I learned from living a long life. What you will teach the young, some 300 years from now, is what YOU have learned in your life. That is how you become an elder.”

Gweyr:
Laucian wrote:Judging by the name he can’t help but wonder just how influential Elder Emberhide was to Gweyr as he takes her hand and begins to dance. “I trust he was the one that you your passion?” he asks curiously with hint a smile. “I would like to meet him, in time.”
“You could say that,” the petite fire mage answers. “He did open my eyes to many possibilities.”
Laucian wrote:“I will try not to disappoint.”he says simply a smirk crossing his weathered features. “It maybe sooner then you think. Once I accompany my clan to Einsun, I will have to see to the other stables and plan for our slaver friends. There is a stable in Pinit, if I am not mistaken. Perhaps I may call on you then?” he asks curiously.
“At any time,” Gweyr says with a smile.

December 3rd, CR 571 or Deepnight 25th, 20,519 AP

Morning comes, earlier for some, later for others, but everyone is awake before sunrise. The days are short during the darkest part of the year, hence my the elves call this part of the year Deepnight. New spells are memorized or prayed for. Food is consumed and everyone is off.

Those who spent the evening in the Heart of the Tree find that there is no change in the cocoon holding Myev. Laucian and Onas slept here last night and Kylie checks on it as well.

The Sunflower:

Those on the Sunflower prepare for what is to come. The ship is made ready for travel. Kylie controls one of the Spell Engines, while Lilia another. The third Spell Engine can be controlled by another, should it be desired. Given that the fastest speeds are reached by using one Spell Engine for one task, just who lifts the ship and who steers it will need to be decided.

The Sunflower makes the short trip up river to the docks by the Feador Clan Hold. From there the Long Runners will start to move on board bringing with them their belongings. Those who are first board are sent down to the lower levels of the ship to allow room for the ones who follow. The Priests of Corellon board the ship as well, but will stay near Lilia. The boarding and settling in for so many individuals will take time.

The Priests for the One and the Tree board the ship as well. High Priestess Soliana speaks to Lilia. “Your Majesty, we had heard that you plan to transport Clan Long Runner to their Clan Hold near the Elfin Palace. The Temple for the One and the Three is near Pinit as well. May we ride with you on your flying ship?”

Gweyr Autumnfire arrives with her clan and will stay close to Kylie and Lilia. “I want to see how this all works for myself!”

Andlin is present as well, having not traveled far from the Queen during the night. He still carries the box she entrusted him with the day before.

The Road West:

Laucian is up early. He instructs his cooshee's and Onyx to wait by Starfire for the Clan Elder to arrive and being the journey to the Grunalf Clan Hold. From there he prepares Aura for the day to come and is off.

The road leading to the west from the Feador Clan Hold is already starting to fill up with elves. Between Clans Chossum and Erendyl there are some 550 settlers. Accompanying this large group are twelve Forest Riders lead by Sergeants Dawnhorn and Nightstar. Dawnhorn is accompanying the settlers of Clan Chossum while Nightstar travels with Clan Erendyl. There are ten griffon riders as well, five for each clan. Cain is watching over Clan Chossum and Luciard Erendyl. The familiar faces of Lorelei Spellsong and Sheeryl Soulsearcher are here as they assist their clans.

The followers of Ehlonna are out in full force as well and at the front of the procession. Klovar is easily spotted talking to the others who revere the Lady of the Forests. To the surprise of many there are two Silver Maidens present on their unicorn mounts. Valena is present of course, as is Annelwin as she is a Ranger in the service of Ehlonna.

Once the Clan Elders from Clans Chossum and Erendyl alert you that all is ready, the procession going east sets out. Klovar transforms into a raven and flies overhead. The going is slow as the vast majority is on foot. It is estimated that about 8 miles along the way, the follower of Ehlonna will turn south so that they can reach the shrine. The others will follow the road west first to Leromyr and then further along to Desnae. It is expected that the caravan will reach Leromyr this evening, with Clan Chossum reaching Desnae the following day.

The Road South:

Onas starts the day alone in the Heart of the Tree. After his morning rituals, he seeks out Sergeant Hawksong.
Onas wrote:"Sergeant, one other thing: I would like you to maintain a watch over Myev's cocoon in the Mother's Heart. Should she emerge, I imagine she may be somewhat disoriented. Please help her find Sheeryl, or one of the Elders or priests who can help her adjust to her new life."
“I'll coordinate with the High Keeper,” Sergeant Hawksong replies. “We'll keep her safe.”

After that, Onas collects his own mount and joins the procession heading to the south. Some 500 elves are present to make the journey to their clan holds. This group includes clans Grunalf, Mealidil and Red Arrow.

The leaders of Clan Red Arrow sit at the front of the procession. Clan Master Argus Bloodmoon is there, while Arlen Brightsword is present on the back of a griffon. The other two sergeants of the Forest Riders are here as well. Sergeant Silversword will be riding with the Grunalf Clan and Sergeant Starglow will accompany Clan Mealidil. Eighteen regular riders are making the trip as well.

Much to everyone's surprise, a Silver Maiden is present as well. It is Fayrianna riding her unicorn covered in plate mail barding. Fayrianna herself carries a lance.

“Welcome, Clansmen!” Fayrianna calls out. “Shall we ride for Walltree?”

The Golden Griffons are present in force as well. Niles will watch over Clan Mealidil while Valis will travel with Clan Red Arrow. Laucian will accompany Clan Grunalf when he is finished with the business at the shrine. Fifteen griffon riders are present as well. The historian Elora is here as well, riding a griffon as she follows her clan to their Sylvan Realm home.

The wait is long as the three clans traveling to the south make their final preparations. Finally, Grunalf Clan Elder Treelife comes riding up to the front. He is mounted on Laucian's horse, Starfire. Trailing along either side of the horse are two cooshee's. Laucian's cat, Onyx, is riding on the back of one of the elfin dogs. Riding on a griffon beside him is Dorotha Kenig of Clan Grunalf.

“We are ready to proceed,” Elder Treelife calls out. “Let our clans move forth to write a new chapter in our history.”

GM Notes:

I've updated XP's in the usual place. I also included Kylie's time over in the Cynalon Knights for this as well.

I also plan to update the Sylvan Realm 2 map again and add more roads to it. It makes sense that there is at least 1 road to each of the Clan Holds.

Here is a brief rundown of who I have going where:

Staying around the Mother Tree:

Clans: Feador

Forest Riders: Sergeant Hawksong with 15 riders.

Taking the road west:

Clans: Chossum and Erendyl

Forest Riders: Sergeant Dawnhorn & Nightstar, 12 Forest Riders.

Golden Griffons: Laucian, Cain, Luciard with 10 riders.

Silver Maidens: Valena and Annelwin

Priests of Ehlonna: Klovar and others

Taking the road south:

Clans: Grunalf, Mealidil & Red Arrow

Forest Riders: Commander Brightsword, Sergeant Silversword, Sergeant Starglow and 18 riders.

Golden Griffons: Niles, Valis, Dorotha and 15 riders.

Silver Maidens: Fayrianna

Priests of Labelas Enoreth: Elora and others.

Priests of Solonor Thelandira: Tanyl Strongbow and others.

Sunflower:

Clans: Long Runner

Priests of Corellon: Mclandrach and others.

Priests of the 1 and 3: Soliana and others.

Notables: Queen Lilia, Speaker Allurien, Kylie, Lia, Talen, Gweyr Autumnfire, Andlin Alastra.

Now what?

Lilia:
Lia wrote:“He should be. No home, No origin… only heard of the Sylvan Realm upon coming to the Elfholds. And he was quiet.. like a spirit or soft and subtle as the wind.”
Lilia thinks upon what Lia tells her in regards to this strange elf Xavier that she meet. “I did note his arrival among the other elves, but I have not seen him afterwards,” Lilia states. “Strange as you say, an elf that does not seem like an elf. Perhaps, he was really not an elf, just in the form of one? That could explain his strange behavior. Regardless, we need to keep our eyes open for this 'Xavier'.”
Mclandrach wrote:“We would be delighted to,” High Priest Mclandrach answers. “I am most curious about this flying ship of yours. I suspect that this thorny growth is a defensive measure for the palace. Most likely generated by the Altar of the All-Father. I will need to Consecrate the Altar to be able to remove it.”
“That would explain a great deal,” Lilia nods in regards to the thorny growth that wraps around the Elfin Palace. “I am sure that we will come across the temple during our search.”

Morning comes soon enough and Lilia is up and dressed in her elfin chain mail armor, shield and weapons. She'll renew her contact with the Spell Engine that she has been using. When we are ready to move, she'll direct the Sunflower towards the docks near the Feador Clan Hold. There the members of Clan Long Runner are waiting to come aboard.

Lilia spots Kylie and Allurien up on the deck of the Sunflower. “Speaker Allurien, would you like the take control of the third Spell Engine? This will give you a chance to become accustom to using it. For now we'll save that engine for defenses, Kylie and I will pilot the ship.”

The Priests of Corellon Larethian come on board stand close by. Surprisingly, the Priests of Angharradh and her associated goddess come on board as well.
Soliana wrote:The Priests for the One and the Tree board the ship as well. High Priestess Soliana speaks to Lilia. “Your Majesty, we had heard that you plan to transport Clan Long Runner to their Clan Hold near the Elfin Palace. The Temple for the One and the Three is near Pinit as well. May we ride with you on your flying ship?”
“Of course, Priestess,” Lilia answers. “You are all most welcome to travel with us. Settle in where you can, the ship will be crowded!”
Gweyr wrote:Gweyr Autumnfire arrives with her clan and will stay close to Kylie and Lilia. “I want to see how this all works for myself!”
“Once you bond with the Spell Engine,” Lilia tells Gweyr, “then you just control it mentally. The ship responds accordingly. The process is not flashy at all.”
Andlin is present as well, having not traveled far from the Queen during the night. He still carries the box she entrusted him with the day before.
Lilia is pleased that Andlin is close by and still carries the box that King Miritar gave her. In the meantime we wait as the settlers board the Sunflower with their belongings.

Kylie Lanthorn the Half-Elven:
Kylie wrote:“Oh?” Doriath responds curiously. “A clan of half-elves? Tell me about this idea. I wish to know more.”
"It's really just the seed of an idea really, at this point," Kylie admits. "We talked a bit about how half-elves don't really have a place in the elven clans or here in the Sylvan Realms. However, Corellon Chose three of us among those who were to rescue Mother Tree, and gave us each a tiny portion of his godly power for that task. As a result, I think she felt that we deserved to have a place of our own here, and came up with the idea of allowing us to create our own clan.

"Obviously, there's only three of us and there's an awful lot to do to create a clan, but I have thought a bit about it. Unfortunately, I have not had much opportunity to discuss it with Lia or Talen yet so I do not know their thoughts or interest in this regard.

"Since half-elves have somewhat different needs and cultural roots than pure elves, it may not make sense to try to place our clan home inside the forest itself. Most of it is already the ancestral lands of the existing clans anyway. However, there is a large area of plains to the east of the Royal Palace along the edge of the mountains with a large river running through. That seems like a good location for us."

Kylie pauses for a moment to organize her ideas, but decides not to try to go into too much detail right now. "Of course, picking a location is perhaps the easiest part. We're going to need to find a way to get the word out to other half-elves. We also need to figure out how to organize the clan, and even what to call it. And probably hundreds of other things that will need to be considered and decided upon.

"Honestly, it seems a bit overwhelming."

===

Since she has a bit of time, Kylie flies over to the Heart Chamber to check on Myev. When she arrives, Onas is just preparing to leave. "Hi Onas, how are you this morning?" She greets the elven crusader with a friendly smile. "I just came by to check on Myev. It doesn't appear that there has been any change so far."

===

Upon returning to the ship, she finds that the settlers from Clan Long Runner, along with a significant number of priests, are starting to board. Kylie notes Laucian's friend Gweyr among them and flies over to greet her. "Hi Gweyr. Are you a member of Clan Long Runner? I'm afraid I don't have a very good sense of who belongs to which clan."

Soon, she joins her mother and Lilia on deck, landing next to Allurien. Andlin is standing nearby holding a somewhat ornate box of indeterminate purpose, but Kylie decides not to ask about it.
Lilia wrote:Lilia spots Kylie and Allurien up on the deck of the Sunflower. “Speaker Allurien, would you like the take control of the third Spell Engine? This will give you a chance to become accustom to using it. For now we'll save that engine for defenses, Kylie and I will pilot the ship.”
Kylie smiles brightly. She is really looking forward to operating the ship with her mother. "You're going to be a ship-mage, Mom!" she says excitedly.

After hugging her mother, she turns to the queen. "Shall we work the same way as before, with me providing lift and you navigating?"

A few moments later, Gweyr joins them.
Gweyr wrote:Gweyr Autumnfire arrives with her clan and will stay close to Kylie and Lilia. “I want to see how this all works for myself!”
Lilia wrote:“Once you bond with the Spell Engine,” Lilia tells Gweyr, “then you just control it mentally. The ship responds accordingly. The process is not flashy at all.”
Shifting her gaze from Lilia to Allurien and then to Gweyr, Kylie volunteers to get the other mages started. "I need to take Mom down to bond with the third Engine. Do you want to come along, Gweyr,
and get an idea of how it works?"

Another thought occurs to Kylie, so she addresses Lilia. "There is the spare Engine as well. What do you think about having Gweyr bond to it so she gets the practice?"

Either way, Kylie leads my mother down to the room with the third Engine. She describes the Engine and it's workings in some detail, then talks Allurien through the process of bonding and powering it with some spells. If Lilia agreed with her idea, she'll then show Gweyr where the extra Engine is, and help her get bonded. Since that Engine isn't affixed to the ship, she might even be able to practice flying it around the room a bit.

Onas Brightsword:
Allurien wrote:“Elves have not lived in these ancient Clan Holds for nearly 10,000 years,” Allurien notes. “Much will have certainly changed during that long of a time. There could be much danger.”
"That was my thinking as well, Allurien," Onas replies with a thoughtful look. "There will be much to do before we can consider this land tamed."
Allurien wrote:“Head of the Clan Council is rather cumbersome,” Allurien agrees. I am told that there is another title that is simpler. The Head of the Council speaks for the elves, so Speaker would be fine to use.”
Standing not far away, Onas overhears a bit of the conversation between Laucian and the Head of the Council. It seems that the woodsman had the same concern as himself. Onas takes note of Allurien's response so that he can be sure to address her properly in the future.

===
Argus wrote:“Yes, we do not wish to deceive them in any manner,” Argus states. “Perhaps we can assist them in matters of defense, assuming that they even need such aid.”
"It cannot hurt to offer and see what they decide," Onas says, spreading his hands in a gesture of offering.

If the sergeants have any concerns about his command, they do not express it. Onas finds that being around such well-trained soldiers is a bit comforting as he has been out of that environment for a little while now.
Argus wrote:“You are welcome, Onas,” Clan Master Argus responds. “I am glad that you are receptive to advice as well. Command can be a big responsibility and many who are new to it try to go it alone. Such attitudes can lead to disaster.”
After the sergeants go off about their duties, Argus speaks up once again. "That aligns with both my training and experience," Onas says. "While I have never had a command of this nature, I have led a few mission teams in the past. I think that experience helped me prepare for this new responsibility. Still, I recognize my lack of command experience and am open to whatever sources of wisdom are available to me."

===

Soliana confirms his assertion that their temple was located centrally for a reason. Naturally, Corellon's temple is attached to the Royal Palace, and is not far from Angharradh's.
Soliana wrote:“We shall meet and talk later then, Onas,” Soliana says. “Then we can plan for the future of the faithful.”
"I will look forward to it, High Priestess," Onas replies, bowing.

===

Just as he is about to finishing his packing, Allurien's daughter flies into the Heart Chamber.
Kylie wrote:Since she has a bit of time, Kylie flies over to the Heart Chamber to check on Myev. When she arrives, Onas is just preparing to leave. "Hi Onas, how are you this morning?" She greets the elven crusader with a friendly smile. "I just came by to check on Myev. It doesn't appear that there has been any change so far."
Seeing her float in and land, Onas wonders if he will ever get used to seeing her wing about like a bird. "Good morning, Lady Kylie. I am well. And you?"

Onas shifts his gaze over to the cocoon, and then back again. "None so far. Laucian and I spent the night here, and there have been no perceptible changes, sounds, or movements from her creche. I will ensure that she will be watched over in our absence."

===
Hawksong wrote:“I'll coordinate with the High Keeper,” Sergeant Hawksong replies. “We'll keep her safe.”
"Excellent. Thank you, Sergeant." That taken care of, Onas leaves to join the party heading down the south road.

Riding up, Onas is pleased to see that his troops are present exactly as instructed, along with his brother and the new Clan Master. He greets them, and has a look around at the rest of those gathered. It is a large group, numbering well over 500 people.
Fayrianna wrote:“Welcome, Clansmen!” Fayrianna calls out. “Shall we ride for Walltree?”
Though he has known of them for a while, it is still an amazing sight to see one of the Silver Maidens mounted on her unicorn. It is such a majestic creature, and she appears incredibly regal sitting on its back in her gleaming armor. "Indeed we shall, Fayrianna!" Onas replies.

Additionally, two of the Golden Griffons are present, along with... thirteen, fourteen... fifteen other griffons carrying lucky members of the three clans. Onas recognizes the historian Elora and Clan Mealidil among them and waves to her.
Treelife wrote:“We are ready to proceed,” Elder Treelife calls out. “Let our clans move forth to write a new chapter in our history.”
Onas sees the Elder from Clan Grunalf appear, riding Laucian's horse Starfire. He is also accompanied by Laucian's cooshee and cat companions. It occurs to him to wonder where his friend is, but that is his business. "Agreed! Let us proceed to reclaiming our ancestral homes."

It takes a little while to get everyone moving in an orderly fashion along the road, but it is a pleasant day, and Onas enjoys being reunited with Carad Orod as they ride through the forest toward whatever destiny awaits them.

Lia wrote:“Aye, I am curious to see. In truth, I don’t know.”She says thoughtfully at the Order head.
“That sounds contradictory,” Valena notes with a grin.
Lia wrote:“When we first defeated Moorkroft, there was talk of many units, the Golden Griffons, The Silver Maidens and the less known Darksong knights. I had thoughts of reforming the Darksong Knights once the Palace was reclaimed.”
“As I see it, you still can reform this Darksong Knights,” Valena notes. “The only thing holding you back is that we have not encountered any other drow, let alone those predisposed to favor your patron. That could change over time.”
Lia wrote:“Perhaps I could meet one in time?” she asks curiously knowing that is sounds indecisive. “Besides tomorrow I am promised to liberating and cleaning out the Palace with Clan Long Runner.”
“As you wish,” Valena easily answers. “You're a good person, Lia. I do not believe that a unicorn would reject you.”

After meeting with other potential recruits, the other Silver Maidens share their plans.

“Sounds good,” Valena notes. “We'll regroup at the griffon stable by the geysers tomorrow evening. The new recruits should be there as well. Then the day after we will go to the order hall to test them. Afterwards you can see to your clan business.”

Next morning, Valena is up early. She does her morning prayers and bow maintenance. Then she is off to meet up with those she is riding today along with her cooshee's and Aerie. Together they join the others down on the road going west.

“Morning!” Valena calls out in greeting. “It will be good to bring the Shrine of the Lady of the Forests back to life once more.”

Since we have so many making the journey on foot, Valena will slip off of River Blossom and walk herself, sparing her unicorn from carrying her today. Once the elders announce that the clans traveling with us are ready, we are off!

Talen:

The day is long and quiet. Talen could see the Rainbow Bridge arrive but decides to keep his distance. He feels a little bit out of place among the elves, mainly due to his height and not being a full elf. It would just be easier to stay away while whatever was happening happened.

That evening people start to return to the Sunflower, but seem more interested in relaxing than talking. In time, Talen turns in as well.

The Sunflower has moved by the time Talen is up the next morning. The ship has moved and a horde of elves are coming on board! Moving to the area where Kylie, Lia and Lilia are at, Talen asks, “What is going on here? Why are all these elves coming on board?”

Laucian makes ready Aura and mounts her after seeing His Cosshee and Onyx are off to Elder Treelife as a sort of honor guard. “I will see you soon.”he says to his followers as he mounts up and walks Aura out into the rising sun.
With a final look about, Laucian takes to the sky and drops down and lands Aura infront of the column. He sees Valena, Klovar and the other followers. “I trust I am not to late?” as Aura paws at the ground with her claws.
Laucian will be ready to move out with the column

Lia
With Valena
“That sounds contradictory,” Valena notes with a grin.
Lia chuckles at the older elf’s observation. “A bit.” She says simply.
“As I see it, you still can reform this Darksong Knights,” Valena notes. “The only thing holding you back is that we have not encountered any other drow, let alone those predisposed to favor your patron. That could change over time.”
Lia listens intently, “We shall see. It is said that the Darksong Knights made their home beneath the Palace. There is a chance we may see them soon if they were left unchecked for so long.” She says intently.
With Lilia-
Lilia thinks upon what Lia tells her in regards to this strange elf Xavier that she meet.
“The thought has crossed my mind. He did not seem like he was a true elf and he was vague. Or perhaps he was a transformed into the form of an elf to see our original home? He did say that he heard a about our home and wanted to see it for himself.” He says looking at the Queen. “I will keep my eyes out for him.”
After preforming her rituals Lia returns to the Sunflower and makes ready to go to sleep. As she wakens she puts her silver hair in a braid that runs down her back, two loose strands hang infront of her brow as she dawns her sword and armor. Stepping out she takes some dry rations she sees Kylie, Speaker and Gweyr in the hallway and she nods to each in turn.
She snacks upon it when Her brother comes by:
Moving to the area where Kylie, Lia and Lilia are at, Talen asks, “What is going on here? Why are all these elves coming on board?”
“Good to see you, up and about.” Lia says as she finishes up her trail mix. “The rainbow bridge has opened and the elves have come home.”she says simply to her brother. “The Clans are reclaiming their homelands today. The elves that are boarding are from Clan Longrunner, Followers of Corellon and the One and Three.”
“Where were you all night? Why were you not at the festivities?”she asks her brother.
The last thing you shall hear is the bladesong of my sword.

Lia gives Kylie a quick nod when they pass in the ship's hallway. Kylie responds with a smile, seeming to be in a good mood this morning. "Good morning, Lia."

"Good morning, Talen," Kylie responds, smiling. She reaches down and scratches Dapple's head absently as she speaks. "We are flying down to the Royal Palace today to clear it out and make it usable again. I believe Corellon's temple is inside the Royal Palace, so they have a stake in that effort. As I understand it, the Longrunner clan home is Pinit, which is just outside the temple, so they are traveling with us for that reason. I'm not really sure about the Triune Goddess' clergy, though I'm sure they have some purpose in coming along as well."

Turning, she calls over to her mother who is standing a bit to one side, chatting casually with an elven woman Kylie doesn't know. "Excuse me, Mom? Do you know what brings Angharradh's priesthood along on this trip?"

Kylie & Doriath:

Kylie and Doriath, the former King of the Elfholds chat. Kylie tells Doriath about Lilia's proposed plan to create a place specifically for half-elves in the Sylvan Realm.
Kylie wrote:"It's really just the seed of an idea really, at this point," Kylie admits.

“Queen Lilia is more ambitious than I imagined,” Doriath remarks as he mulls over what Kylie told him. “I do agree with her logic. For far too long the elves have looked down on half-elves and kept them at arms length. There are some long ingrained reasons for that behavior, but in light of your role in the restoration of the Mother Tree there seem to be many preconceived notions that we elves need to reconsider.”

“I does seem that the All-Father is sending his children a message,” Doriath continues, “and we best listen to it. He considers half-elves and even those of drow decent to still be his children, so we must do the same. It seems that not only is there a rebirth of the Sylvan Realm, but elfin culture as well. It is an exciting thing to see.”

“What you propose will take a great deal of time and much hard work. For one thing, while you may try to be a clan of your own, but you cannot be like an elfin clan. The way we elves work as a large group is at odds with the individualism that many half-elves possess. It will be interesting to see what you and those like you create.”

Onas & Allurien:
Onas wrote:"That was my thinking as well, Allurien," Onas replies with a thoughtful look. "There will be much to do before we can consider this land tamed."
“The only good thing about Moorkroft's siege on the Sylvan Realm is that he kept out others from our forests,” Allurien notes. “So, I would be surprised to find a colony of orcs or humans. However, that does not mean that other creatures will not be found here. I imagine that there will be more than few surprises encountered along the way.”

Onas & Argus:
Onas wrote:"It cannot hurt to offer and see what they decide," Onas says, spreading his hands in a gesture of offering.
“Perhaps trade of some sort can be arranged with the centaurs,” Clan Master Argus suggests. “Although, I have no idea how to negotiate such a thing or what they would even want. Can they even speak our tongue? I certainly can't speak theirs.”
Onas wrote:After the sergeants go off about their duties, Argus speaks up once again. "That aligns with both my training and experience," Onas says. "While I have never had a command of this nature, I have led a few mission teams in the past. I think that experience helped me prepare for this new responsibility. Still, I recognize my lack of command experience and am open to whatever sources of wisdom are available to me."
“It seems that we both will be learning on the job!” Argus says with a laugh.

December 3rd, CR 571 or Deepnight 25th, 20,519 AP

The following morning, the newly arrived clans start the trek to their various Clan Holds. While Clan Feador is remaining here near the Mother Tree, the others will be traveling across the Sylvan Realm escorted by Forest Riders, Griffon Riders and Silver Maidens. Some are even going on the Sunflower!

Sunflower:

Clan Long Runner continues to board the Sunflower and the ship starts to fill up with more and more elves. Priests of both Corellon Larethian and Angharradh are present as well. Queen Lilia, Speaker Allurien, Kylie, Lia and Talen oversee everything. Other familiar faces are here as well.
Kylie wrote:Upon returning to the ship, she finds that the settlers from Clan Long Runner, along with a significant number of priests, are starting to board. Kylie notes Laucian's friend Gweyr among them and flies over to greet her. "Hi Gweyr. Are you a member of Clan Long Runner? I'm afraid I don't have a very good sense of who belongs to which clan."
“Hi, Kylie,” Gweyr says with a bright smile. Gweyr has to be among the smallest elf that Kylie has ever seen. She might actually be shorter than Kharyna's companion, Lara Spellsword! That, coupled with her flaming red hair, makes Gweyr someone who stands out among other elves. “Yes, I am of Clan Long Runner.”

“It might seem complicated at first,” Gweyr continues, “but there are are some generalities that do tend to be true more often than not. If an elf is a mage, they are probably from Clan Long Runner. If you are a merchant, than probably Clan Chossum. A craftsman, Clan Erendyl. Clan Feador, Tree Keepers. Scouts and rangers, Clan Grunalf. If you are historian, you're probably from Clan Mealidil. Lastly warriors tend to come from Clan Red Arrow. See, not that complicated.”
Kylie wrote:Kylie smiles brightly. She is really looking forward to operating the ship with her mother. "You're going to be a ship-mage, Mom!" she says excitedly.

“Might as well learn how to do this,” Allurien notes without the same level of enthusiasm as Kylie.

Gweyr states her interest in the Spell Engines as well.
Lilia wrote:“Once you bond with the Spell Engine,” Lilia tells Gweyr, “then you just control it mentally. The ship responds accordingly. The process is not flashy at all.”
Kylie wrote:Shifting her gaze from Lilia to Allurien and then to Gweyr, Kylie volunteers to get the other mages started. "I need to take Mom down to bond with the third Engine. Do you want to come along, Gweyr,
and get an idea of how it works?"
“Sure!” Gweyr chimes in. “I did want to learn how to do this!”
Kylie wrote:Either way, Kylie leads my mother down to the room with the third Engine.
The trio makes their way down below decks, dodging all the other elves as they look for a place to settle down in. None of these elves have any idea how long this trip will take. They are surely in for a surprise!
Kylie wrote:Turning, she calls over to her mother who is standing a bit to one side, chatting casually with an elven woman Kylie doesn't know. "Excuse me, Mom? Do you know what brings Angharradh's priesthood along on this trip?"
“As I understand it, their temple in the Sylvan Realm is near the Long Runner Clan Hold,” Allurien explains. “So they were going where we are going and they asked for a ride. It would be rude to refuse them.”

The group eventually makes its way to the lowest level of the Sunflower. It is here where the last two of the Sunflower's Spell Engines are located. Kylie explains how it works and how to bond to the Spell Engine. Allurien does so and becomes aware how all this works.

“This one is low on energy,” Allurien notes. “I can tell that it does four things. I assume that we each need to do a different ability so not to interfere with each other? What do you want me to do? Can it be charged?”

After that, the group makes its way to the vault where the fourth Spell Engine sits. However, this one has no flame inside of it. It's been completely drained of power and spells will need to cast into it to power it up. In its drained state, it cannot be bonded with.

Back up topside, the last of Clan Long Runner is coming on board. Lilia notes that Doriath has shown up as well.

“If I am to advise you, Your Majesty,” Doriath notes, “I do need to keep close.”

Two other elves accompany Doriath. They are introduced as Myrin Dree, a older male elf, and Keerla Stillmist, an older lady elf. They were among Doriath's former advisers and assistants. Myrin was Doriath's Chief of Staff, while Keerla keep the household running. Both are look to serve here in the Sylvan Realms in a similar capacity.

Lia and Talen are noted by the new arrivals, but most elves will keep their distance. A few do come up and thank both for what they did to save the Mother Tree. Lia does not spot Xavier among the elves.

After a time, Clan Master Goldenleaf comes up and announces that everyone is now on board. The time for departure has come!

Not long after that, Kylie is alerted that she is needed back up on deck. Once topside, Kylie can see that elves take up the entire deck of the Sunflower! She'll also note that among the group near Queen Lilia is Doriath and a few others not known to her. The Sunflower is ready to set sail.

The Road West:

Those going west gather on the road heading that way. Clans Chossum and Erendyl are here along with Forest Riders, Griffon Riders and a pair of Silver Maidens.
Valena wrote:“Morning!” Valena calls out in greeting. “It will be good to bring the Shrine of the Lady of the Forests back to life once more.”
“That it will, Forest Sister!” Klovar calls out with a wide grin. “This promises to be a momentous day!”

Not long after that, Laucian arrives on top of Aura.
Laucian wrote:With a final look about, Laucian takes to the sky and drops down and lands Aura in front of the column. He sees Valena, Klovar and the other followers. “I trust I am not to late?” as Aura paws at the ground with her claws.
“Just in time, Forest Brother,” Klovar calls out. “I am pleased that you could join us.”

Klovar comes closer to Aura to take the griffon in. “Magnificent creature,” Klovar says in admiration.

Time passes as the Follower of Ehlonna converse. Eventually Clan Master Voluril Ocing for Clan Chossum and Clan Master Stobon, appear and announce that their clans are ready to head out. With that, the procession starts to move out, walking down the road leading to the west.

Much of the road has been overgrown by high grass over the passing years, but enough of the road remains to make it usable. The road runs along side the river that the Sunflower had been at anchor in. Not long after setting out, you can see the Sunflower take flight and is quickly out of sight. Most in the procession are in awe upon seeing the flying ship!

Progress is slow as the vast majority are on foot and most with mounts simply choose to walk instead of ride or fly. Klovar returns to his elfin form as well.

A few hours into the trip, both Laucian and Valena become aware of movement in the road up ahead! The signal for everyone to come to a halt is given. Thanks to their better than normal vision, Laucian and Valena can see nearly a dozen centaurs approaching on the road! The centaurs have seen the huge amount of elves are seem very uncertain what is going on.

The Road South:

South of the Mother Tree, the remaining clans, Grunalf, Mealidil and Red Arrow, are ready to head to their own Clan Holds. Arlen and Onas Brightsword are here along with the Silver Maiden Fayrianna.
Onas wrote:Though he has known of them for a while, it is still an amazing sight to see one of the Silver Maidens mounted on her unicorn. It is such a majestic creature, and she appears incredibly regal sitting on its back in her gleaming armor. "Indeed we shall, Fayrianna!" Onas replies.
“You are most welcomed to join us, Silver Maiden Fayrianna,” Clan Master Argus calls out, slightly in awe of the sight before him.

“Can you imagine an entire unit of elf maidens mounted on unicorns?” Argus whispers to Onas. “They would give heavy cavalry a run for their gold!”

Eventually, the clans are all in place and ready to set out. The Clan Masters for Clans Grunalf, Triestar Silvarost, and Clan Mealidil, Olantius Jasus, join Elder Treelife near the front of the procession.
Onas wrote:Onas sees the Elder from Clan Grunalf appear, riding Laucian's horse Starfire. He is also accompanied by Laucian's cooshee and cat companions. It occurs to him to wonder where his friend is, but that is his business. "Agreed! Let us proceed to reclaiming our ancestral homes."
With that, the group sets out. Progress is slow as the vast majority are on foot. Many who are riding chose to walk as well. This road is firmly underneath a blanket of trees. As such, the road is mostly a wide, dirt trail with some grass growing along the sides. The tree branches are high enough that it is possible to fly a griffon down this road.

A few hours into the trip, Fayrianna comes closer with her unicorn. She speaks to the procession leaders in a low voice.

“We are being watched,” Fayrianna says in a low whisper. “Aeolus senses something in the forest off the road, but it is not malevolent. But there is no reason to believe that it is a friend either. Should we investigate?”

Now what?

“Just in time, Forest Brother,” Klovar calls out. “I am pleased that you could join us.”
“I would not miss it.” Laucian calls back as Aura great fore legs paw at the ground.
Klovar comes closer to Aura to take the griffon in. “Magnificent creature,” Klovar says in admiration.
“A reward from the All father. But she Is far more than that.” He says as he pats Aura’s flank as she chirps in reply.
“Good day, Valena. Has all our Brother’s and sisters come?”” he asks curiously as several other followers are gathered. He will introduce himself to each in turn, if time allows.
Laucian hears the Clan leaders call to move forward. Laucian turn Aura and begins to move forward. Soon after The Sunflower rises into the air, water dripping from the hull as it increases speed and then disappears from site. As it rises up Laucian can see raising his hand in goodbye. “Good Luck, my friends.”he says simply, think he should be with them dealing with Moorkrofts remnants.
When possible he allows Aura to stretch her wings and others she walks with he column. As he moves Aura to the front of the column he sees Valena there as she trots upon her Unicorn.
“It is still a marvel to watch.”he says to his forest sister. “To see a unicorn is a true blessing, to ride along side one is so much more.”
Soon after forms begin to move in the distance, “We have company.” As the forms become more apparent. “Centaurs.”he says to Valena, “let us hope this is a friendly encounter.” Looking back from Aura, Laucian calls forward the clan leaders Voluril and Stobon.
“Your neighbors have come.” He says simply to them, then turns to Valena. “I will speak with them. Perhaps they know what lies ahead. Have the column watch the flanks for trouble, just to be safe.”
Laucian will move forward from the column upon Aura , when he is with hear shot he will let his voice be known in centaur. “Good Day to you friends. My people wish you no ill will.” Laucian will see if any of the centaurs he recognizes as he raises his hand in greeting.
“I am leading these elves to their long forgotten homes. We do not wish to intrude upon your lands. How is Caperling fairing since his return to the tribe?” he asks curiously, hoping that that they recognize the chief's son name.

Onas Brightsword:
Allurien wrote:“The only good thing about Moorkroft's siege on the Sylvan Realm is that he kept out others from our forests,” Allurien notes. “So, I would be surprised to find a colony of orcs or humans. However, that does not mean that other creatures will not be found here. I imagine that there will be more than few surprises encountered along the way.”
Allurien's words bear the mark of her intelligence. "I had not considered the impact of Moorkroft's presense, Speaker. I will keep your words in mind as we go forth."

Argus wrote:“Perhaps trade of some sort can be arranged with the centaurs,” Clan Master Argus suggests. “Although, I have no idea how to negotiate such a thing or what they would even want. Can they even speak our tongue? I certainly can't speak theirs.”
A smile lightens Onas' features. "I have no doubt that Speaker Allurien can figure that out. As for speaking with the centaurs, I suspect there are some few who are conversant in their tongue, particularly among the followers of Ehlonna."
Argus wrote:“It seems that we both will be learning on the job!” Argus says with a laugh.
Onas shares the new Clan Master's amusement. "Indeed we shall, my friend. Indeed we shall."

It is a beautiful day to be traveling through the forest in the company of friends and clan-mates. The trees make a canopy overhead that blocks any harsh light from the sun, yet plenty filters down to illuminate their surroundings. A cool, comfortable breeze wafts by now and then, causing a few leaves to flutter about in the air.
Argus wrote:“Can you imagine an entire unit of elf maidens mounted on unicorns?” Argus whispers to Onas. “They would give heavy cavalry a run for their gold!”
"That is a sight I would love to see someday," Onas replies softly with a smile. "At least, I would as long as they are not angry with me..."

They travel easily through most of the morning, reveling in the peace and warmth of the forest. The chatter of birds, chirping of insects, and rustling of small animals creates something of a symphony of nature that imbues the forest with a feeling of home and comfort.
Fayrianna wrote:A few hours into the trip, Fayrianna comes closer with her unicorn. She speaks to the procession leaders in a low voice.

“We are being watched,” Fayrianna says in a low whisper. “Aeolus senses something in the forest off the road, but it is not malevolent. But there is no reason to believe that it is a friend either. Should we investigate?”
Onas mulls this information over for a few moments, then replies quietly. "Yes, I believe we should. However, since this watcher - or watchers - does not seem ill-disposed toward us, we should strive to not cause alarm. I recommend that you, Elder Treelife, and myself investigate at a gentle pace. You and your mount are a powerful symbol of our benign intent, so you should lead. Elder Treelife can negotiate and advise as needed, and I can summon the blessings of The Three and The One if warranted. The Golden Griffons and the Forest Riders will remain on alert in case trouble arises."

Onas looks around at the other leaders. "Any objections?"

Kylie Lanthorn the Half-Elven:
Doriath wrote:“Queen Lilia is more ambitious than I imagined,” Doriath remarks as he mulls over what Kylie told him.

Kylie listens quietly as Doriath gives his views on Lilia's idea for a half-elven clan. She is pleased to hear that the former king of the Elfholds supports the idea, which brings a smile to her face. His intelligence and wisdom demonstrate why he was such a good king for so long.

"I agree, Doriath. It is that very volume of work needed to bring this to fruition that makes it seem so overwhelming and intimidating. Plus, as you say, we will have to forge our own path, as an elven model will not suit us. And with so few of us to do the work, I fear that it will take an immense period of time; I cannot even be sure that I will live long enough to truly see it become a healthy and thriving community. I wish I knew of a way to get the word out to other half-elves, both far and wide."

===

Kylie encounters Gweyr Autumnfire boarding the ship along with Clan Long Runner and a couple groups of priests.
Gweyr" wrote:“Hi, Kylie,” Gweyr says with a bright smile.

Kylie smiles, with just a tinge of worry. "I understand your point, Gweyr. and thank you for the information on the clan inclinations. It is the exceptions that concern me; my own mother comes from Clan Feador, but she was an adventurer of some repute rather than a Tree Keeper. I would hate to offend someone by making the wrong assumption."
Allurien wrote:“As I understand it, their temple in the Sylvan Realm is near the Long Runner Clan Hold,” Allurien explains. “So they were going where we are going and they asked for a ride. It would be rude to refuse them.”
"Thanks, Mom!" Kylie calls back, before returning her attention to Talen and Lia. "I guess that explains it."

Gweyr seems eager to learn how to work the Spell Engines, though Allurien far less so. "It won't be so bad, Mom," Kylie teases. It is not long before they reach the room that stores the third Engine.
“This one is low on energy,” Allurien notes. “I can tell that it does four things. I assume that we each need to do a different ability so not to interfere with each other? What do you want me to do? Can it be charged?”
"That is right, Mom. I will provide the lift and life support. Lilia will provide the forward movement and steer the ship. Your job will be to activate the defenses if danger arises.

"As for charging the Engine, you will need to cast spells into it. The intensity of the spell greatly influences the amount of energy that it provides. A spell of the second rank will provide four times as much energy as a spell of the first rank, and a spell of the fourth rank will provide four times as much as a spell of the second rank. Magic items can also be fed to a Spell Engine, but that is not as efficient and destroys the item. Probably best to save that for emergencies." Kylie pauses to see if her mother has any other questions.

Once Allurien's Engine is powered up and she is comfortable with the basic uses, Kylie leads Gweyr to the spare Engine in the Quartermaster's offices. It is quickly determined that this Engine has no spell energy within at all. "Okay, Gweyr, before you can bond with this Spell Engine, you will need to provide it with some power. A couple of fairly minor spells should be sufficient to let you bond with the engine."

Gweyr has the Engine powered up and is familiarizing herself with its functions, when Kylie is notified of their readiness to depart. "Excuse me, Gweyr, I need to return up on deck."

Returning to the deck, Kylie sees Doriath and a couple of older elves she doesn't know talking with Lilia. "Hi Lilia! Hi Doriath! Are we ready to take off?" Once given confirmation, she activates her Engine and coaxes the ship into the air.

Lia wrote:“The thought has crossed my mind. He did not seem like he was a true elf and he was vague. Or perhaps he was a transformed into the form of an elf to see our original home? He did say that he heard a about our home and wanted to see it for himself.” He says looking at the Queen. “I will keep my eyes out for him.”
“I will alert others as well,” Lilia adds. “While this Xavier might be friendly, it is best to consider him a potential threat until we learn otherwise.”

Next morning, the Sunflower is made ready for the trip to the Elfin Palace.
Kylie wrote:Kylie smiles brightly. She is really looking forward to operating the ship with her mother. "You're going to be a ship-mage, Mom!" she says excitedly.
Allurien wrote:“Might as well learn how to do this,” Allurien notes without the same level of enthusiasm as Kylie.
Kylie wrote:After hugging her mother, she turns to the queen. "Shall we work the same way as before, with me providing lift and you navigating?"
Lilia notes that Speaker Allurien does not share her daughter's enthusiasm when it comes to magic. There are many who only consider it to be a tool, a means to an end.

“That is agreeable,” Lilia tells Kylie in regards to who will do what when the time comes to fly the Sunflower. “I'll send someone to let you know when the come back up on deck. You'll need to be able to see so we can avoid the trees.”
Kylie wrote:Another thought occurs to Kylie, so she addresses Lilia. "There is the spare Engine as well. What do you think about having Gweyr bond to it so she gets the practice?"
“I am not opposed to that idea,” Lilia states. “The more of us who become accustomed to using the Spell Engines the better.”

Not long after Kylie and the others go below decks, Doriath comes on board.

“Welcome, Doriath,” Lilia calls out in greeting.
Doriath wrote:“If I am to advise you, Your Majesty,” Doriath notes, “I do need to keep close.”
“That does make sense,” Lilia responds with a laugh. “We'll be taking off shortly. I think you'll find this very interesting.”
“Well met,” Lilia says to the elves she is introduced to. “I admit that I have yet to give any thought to such positions before. We've gone from just a handful of people to many hundreds. It's an adjustment. For now, I have no issue with either of you taking on these roles.”

Clan Master Goldenleaf alerts me that all the Long Runners are now on board the Sunflower. The deck below if filled with elves!

“I guess we've answered just how many this ship can hold,” Lilia notes to herself. A runner is sent to retrieve Kylie. In the meantime, Lilia will have the gangplank pulled up and start to move the ship out into the center of the river.
Kylie wrote:Returning to the deck, Kylie sees Doriath and a couple of older elves she doesn't know talking with Lilia. "Hi Lilia! Hi Doriath! Are we ready to take off?" Once given confirmation, she activates her Engine and coaxes the ship into the air.
“We are ready to go,” Lilia confirms. “You may take us up once we find an opening large enough for the Sunflower to pass through. Once high enough, we shall turn to the south towards the palace.”

“Everyone hang on!” Lilia calls out for all to hear. “We are about to take flight!”

Lia wrote:Lia chuckles at the older elf’s observation. “A bit.” She says simply.

Lia listens intently, “We shall see. It is said that the Darksong Knights made their home beneath the Palace. There is a chance we may see them soon if they were left unchecked for so long.” She says intently.
“Since we have yet to venture any further into the palace, we have no way of knowing what lies in the Order Hall of the Darksong Nights,” Valena notes. “Many of the elfin gods have sent followers to the Sylvan Realm. Perhaps yours as done so as well. Although, most likely in a very different manner given our, shall we say, distrust for the drow?”

Valena and River Blossom have joined the other followers of Ehlonna on the road leading to the west of the Mother Tree. Clans Chossum and Erendyl are also going in this general direction, so we travel together for now.
Klovar wrote:“That it will, Forest Sister!” Klovar calls out with a wide grin. “This promises to be a momentous day!”
“Indeed it shall,” Valena answers. “Its been along time since I've been among so many followers of the Lady of the Forests. Not since the last temple I visited.”
Laucian wrote:With a final look about, Laucian takes to the sky and drops down and lands Aura in front of the column. He sees Valena, Klovar and the other followers. “I trust I am not to late?” as Aura paws at the ground with her claws.
Klovar wrote:“Just in time, Forest Brother,” Klovar calls out. “I am pleased that you could join us.”
Laucian wrote:“I would not miss it.” Laucian calls back as Aura great fore legs paw at the ground.

“Good day, Valena. Has all our Brother’s and sisters come?” he asks curiously as several other followers are gathered. He will introduce himself to each in turn, if time allows.
“Well met, Laucian,” Valena calls out. “I believe that we are all here.”

In time the order is given to move out as the Clan Masters of Clans Chossum and Erendyl move to the front. The majority of the settlers are on foot, so progress is slow. Valena will dismount and is content to simply walk beside River Blossom with the others.
Laucian wrote:“It is still a marvel to watch.”he says to his forest sister. “To see a unicorn is a true blessing, to ride along side one is so much more.”
“I get the same joy from River Blossom, that you get from Aura,” Valena responds. “We've all been blessed greatly.”

Time passes and eventually we see what looks like centaurs coming towards down the road!
Laucian wrote:Soon after forms begin to move in the distance, “We have company.” As the forms become more apparent. “Centaurs.”he says to Valena, “let us hope this is a friendly encounter.” Looking back from Aura, Laucian calls forward the clan leaders Voluril and Stobon.
“Go talk to them,” Valena tells Laucian, knowing that he can speak their language. “I'll keep you covered.”

As Laucian moves forwards, Valena tells the other around her what is going on and to be prepared in case violence does erupt. Valena will send Aerie off to get an overhead view. Valena has her bow at the ready, but will not have it pointed at a target just yet.

“Stay on guard,” Valena tells those around her. “We met centaurs before and even aided them during our quest to save the Mother Tree. I am sure that they will be friendly, but we must be prepared if they are not.”

Talen:
Lia wrote:“Good to see you, up and about.” Lia says as she finishes up her trail mix. “The rainbow bridge has opened and the elves have come home.”she says simply to her brother.
“I knew that,” Talen tells his sister. “I was hard to miss the Rainbow Bridge after all. I just never imagined that there would be so many elves!”
Lia wrote:“The Clans are reclaiming their homelands today. The elves that are boarding are from Clan Long Runner, Followers of Corellon and the One and Three.”
“Okay,” Talen answers, sounding like he is still really unsure why there are on the Sunflower.
Lia wrote:“Where were you all night? Why were you not at the festivities?”she asks her brother.
“I was here all night,” Talen simply answers. “I really didn't feel like celebrating or being around others. Trying to get my head clear.”

Kylie comes along and gives a more detailed explanation.
Kylie wrote:"Good morning, Talen," Kylie responds, smiling. She reaches down and scratches Dapple's head absently as she speaks.
“Hi!”, Talen answers, perking up noticeably.
Kylie wrote:"We are flying down to the Royal Palace today to clear it out and make it usable again. I believe Corellon's temple is inside the Royal Palace, so they have a stake in that effort. As I understand it, the Long Runner clan home is Pinit, which is just outside the temple, so they are traveling with us for that reason. I'm not really sure about the Triune Goddess' clergy, though I'm sure they have some purpose in coming along as well."
“Okay, that makes sense I guess,” Talen easily answers.
Kylie wrote:Turning, she calls over to her mother who is standing a bit to one side, chatting casually with an elven woman Kylie doesn't know. "Excuse me, Mom? Do you know what brings Angharradh's priesthood along on this trip?"
Allurien wrote:“As I understand it, their temple in the Sylvan Realm is near the Long Runner Clan Hold,” Allurien explains. “So they were going where we are going and they asked for a ride. It would be rude to refuse them.”
Kylie wrote:"Thanks, Mom!" Kylie calls back, before returning her attention to Talen and Lia. "I guess that explains it."
“Yeah,” is all Talen adds. “Well, it will be nice to be out and doing something after a few slow days. Hopefully we wont have too many nasty traps left by Moorkroft!”

Talen stays close to Lilia after Kylie goes below deck. He wants to know what is going on, but does not get too close as the Queen has many other elves around her. It is announced that we are ready to take off and Kylie comes back.

“This will be quite a shock to all these elves!”, Talen tells Kylie. “Show them what you can do.”

“I guess we've answered just how many this ship can hold,” Lilia notes to herself. A runner is sent to retrieve Kylie. In the meantime, Lilia will have the gangplank pulled up and start to move the ship out into the center of the river.
Lia is close by when she hears a call for a runner then for the gangplank to be pulled up. She goes over and lends a hand as she figures her augmented strength would be of some use.
Lia will stay within earshot of Lilia. And await the time to disembark

Post Continued:

It is the morning after the Rainbow Bridge opened and some 1300 elves arrived from the Elfholds. Now these new settlers are beginning the journey back to their ancient Clan Holds. Most by foot, some by air.

The Sunflower Soars:

On the Sunflower, Clan Long Runner is slowly boarding the ship. Kylie shows her mother and Gweyr how to use the Spell Engines.
Kylie wrote:Kylie smiles, with just a tinge of worry. "I understand your point, Gweyr. and thank you for the information on the clan inclinations. It is the exceptions that concern me; my own mother comes from Clan Feador, but she was an adventurer of some repute rather than a Tree Keeper. I would hate to offend someone by making the wrong assumption."
“That is understandable,” Gweyr answers. “Hmm, I guess I never really gave it any real thought. There is far more to it than that. Each clan has its own style, their own way of doing things simply beyond generalizations. I guess as an elf I am accustomed to such things, but they could be confusing to an outsider.”
Kylie wrote:"That is right, Mom. I will provide the lift and life support. Lilia will provide the forward movement and steer the ship. Your job will be to activate the defenses if danger arises.”
“Seems simple enough,” Allurien notes.
Kylie wrote:"As for charging the Engine, you will need to cast spells into it.
“That seems reasonable,” Allurien answers. “That does explain where the magical energy comes from.”
Kylie wrote:Once Allurien's Engine is powered up and she is comfortable with the basic uses, Kylie leads Gweyr to the spare Engine in the Quartermaster's offices. It is quickly determined that this Engine has no spell energy within at all. "Okay, Gweyr, before you can bond with this Spell Engine, you will need to provide it with some power. A couple of fairly minor spells should be sufficient to let you bond with the engine."
“Just cast spells at it?” Gweyr asks. “Wouldn't area effect spells be dangerous?”

A few simple spells are cast into the inert Spell Engine and the magical flame inside appears. The size and strength of the flame are a reflection of the power it holds. Right now its about the size of a match.
Kylie wrote:Gweyr has the Engine powered up and is familiarizing herself with its functions, when Kylie is notified of their readiness to depart. "Excuse me, Gweyr, I need to return up on deck."
“I'll save the experimentation for later,” Gweyr says. “I want to see this ship fly like a bird!”

Together Kylie, Allurien and Gweyr make their way back to the top side of the Sunflower.

Back up on deck, Lilia notes that Doriath and a few companions have also bordered the Sunflower.
Lilia wrote:“That does make sense,” Lilia responds with a laugh. “We'll be taking off shortly. I think you'll find this very interesting.”
“I am looking forward to it,” Doriath says with a grin. “At my age, any new experiences are rare.”
Lilia wrote:“Well met,” Lilia says to the elves she is introduced to. “I admit that I have yet to give any thought to such positions before. We've gone from just a handful of people to many hundreds. It's an adjustment. For now, I have no issue with either of you taking on these roles.”
Both offer their thanks and then step back. Kylie, Allurien and Gweyr return.
“Lady Kylie,” Doriath responds with a nod.
Lilia wrote:“We are ready to go,” Lilia confirms. “You may take us up once we find an opening large enough for the Sunflower to pass through. Once high enough, we shall turn to the south towards the palace.”

“Everyone hang on!” Lilia calls out for all to hear. “We are about to take flight!”
In response the Sunflower starts to move out into the river once more under Lilia's direction. Once clear of the trees, Kylie has the ship begin to rise. The Sunflower goes forward and upwards at the same time. Slowly at first, but faster as time goes on. The water drips away from the ship in huge droplets, returning to the river below.

Over on the south bank of the river, one of the processions of settlers going to the west can be seen. The road they are traveling on hugs the river. Waves are briefly exchanged as the Sunflower continues to rise.

“Oh my!” Doriath calls out. “I had no idea...”

From the back, Andlin lets out a laugh. “They're just getting started,” the armored elf adds.

Lilia halts the forward motion of the Sunflower and now is slowly turning the ship so that it's bow is facing to the south. All the while, Kylie continues to have the ship rise up. The Sunflower clears the forest around it and only the Mother Tree stands taller.

It takes a few minutes to turn the ship to the right direction. Once that is down, Lilia begins to move the ship forward at greater and greater velocity. With the ship safely above the trees, Kylie halts the ships upward movement. Lilia accelerates the ship to full speed and the trees below pass at a fantastic clip! Those on board are stunned to be traveling in such a manner that most are at a lost for words.

“I want one of these!” Gweyr calls out. “I thought traveling by griffon was fantastic, but this? To be able to take all your stuff with you and go exploring? It's amazing!”

“There's no wind,” Allurien notes. “Is something protecting us?”

“I think that when you were planning all those organizations to help defend the Sylvan Realm, I think that you forgot one,” Doriath notes. “We never needed one back in the Elfholds, but clearly the Sylvan Realm is going to need a navy.”

By griffon it takes a rider two days to travel between the Elfin Palace and the Mother Tree. On foot, three days. Today the Sunflower makes this journey in a mere two hours.

The southern of the two major rivers in the Sylvan Realm comes into sight. The small island the Elfin Palace sits on is located next. The defensive thorny growth is seen all over the island, except for the six griffon landing areas that surround it.

The Sunflower slows once more as it approaches the river. A good place to go down below the trees is found and Kylie lowers the ship once more while Lilia turns it into the proper direction. The Sunflower moves much slower now as it glides over the wide river. Docks are noted both on the shore of the Elfin Palace and by Pinit. The Sunflower touches down onto the water and Lilia gently guides the ship to the docks of Pinit. The gangplank is lowered to the waiting docks and the elves start to move into their Clan Hold. You have arrived!

“That was amazing,” Clan Master Goldenleaf says in awe. “Thank you for your offer. I think you will have no shortage of elfin mages who wish to fly ships like this!”
Try it and find out!

The Road West:

The clans moving down the road to the west have spotted a small group of centaurs walking towards them. Laucian, mounted on Aura, goes forth to speak to them. Behind him, Valena sends her falcon Aerie up to the sky to see things from above. Klovar does the same in the form of a raven.

As Laucian gets closer, he can see that there are ten centaurs in all. The group is mostly composed of mature stallions, but there are two mares with them. The leader of the centaurs trots closer to Laucian. A long sword rests in a scabbard along his left flank, while a long bow is in his hands. A necklace of some kind hangs around his neck.
Laucian wrote:Laucian will move forward from the column upon Aura , when he is within ear shot he will let his voice be known in centaur. “Good Day to you friends. My people wish you no ill will.” Laucian will see if any of the centaurs he recognizes as he raises his hand in greeting.
None of the centaurs look familiar to Laucian. The apparent leader of the group moves closer and comes to a stop. It is then that Laucian realizes that the necklace he is wearing looks very much like the holy symbol of Ehlonna!

“I am Lakandras,” the Centaur calls out in his native tongue. “Leader of the Astades Tribe.”
Laucian wrote:“I am leading these elves to their long forgotten homes. We do not wish to intrude upon your lands. How is Caperling fairing since his return to the tribe?” he asks curiously, hoping that that they recognize the chief's son name.
“Caperling?” Lakandras says in a puzzled voice. It takes him a few moments to recognize the name. “That is Philantus' boy, the chief of the Galelus Tribe.”

“Our legends say that centaurs and elves once lived together in harmony, but then the elves went away,” Lakandras states. “Are you saying that they have come back? Was that why there was a rainbow in the sky for most of yesterday?”

The Road South:

Three clans are taking the road south of the Mother Tree. Along the way, Aeolus, Fayrianna's unicorn mount, sensed something watching the group from the woods along the side of the road. No evil was noted, but that does not mean whatever is there is friendly either.
Onas wrote:Onas mulls this information over for a few moments, then replies quietly.

No one voices any objections. The Clan Masters ride back among their people telling them to stop and keep quiet.

Fayrianna walks beside Aeolus as they casually approach the area they believe the watcher is at. Elder Treelife comes forwards on foot, leaving Starfire behind. Laucian's cooshee's come forward and they sniff the air. Clearly they know that something is close, but they elfin dogs do not seem greatly concerned by it.

Surprisingly, it is Onyx that makes the first move forward. The ebony feline leaps down from the back of the cooshee he was riding and takes several steps towards the woods along the side of the road. Onyx sits down and lets out a loud meow. In response the something in the woods mews back. The response was much deeper that Onyx.

“A feline of some kind?” Fayrianna wonders aloud.

Right after that, you can hear something moving in the woods. Then you can see a pair of large, golden feline eyes coming closer. These eye are about four feet above the ground! The mystery cat emerges and you can see a huge feline with grayish-green fur and large tufted ears. Whatever this cat is, its as big as a cooshee!

The cat lets out another mew as it eyes everyone.

Now what?

Valena Wrote-
“Go talk to them,” Valena tells Laucian, knowing that he can speak their language. “I'll keep you covered.”
“Much appreciated.” He says evenly as he turns Aura and urging her forward.
As the Centaurs trot closer, Laucian cannot help but feel somewhat intimidated. 10 centaurs approach him as he holds Aura’s reign, “Easy Aura.” He states in centaur calming the griffon while taking the centaurs. None seem familiar and all wear weapons, one wears a necklace of some type. A holy symbol or mark of leadership, the ranger cleric thinks to himself as the centaur leader trots forward.

“Well met Lakarandras.” He says bowing slightly in respect. “I am Laucian Nailo of Clan Grundalf, Leader of the Order of Golden Griffons and Cleric of The Lady of Forests. Are you a follower of Ehlonna?” he asks curiously to Lakandras.
“Caperling?” Lakandras says in a puzzled voice. It takes him a few moments to recognize the name. “That is Philantus' boy, the chief of the Galelus Tribe.”
“My apologies, In my short time here in the Slyvian realm I have only met Philantus, Caperling and Galelus tribe. We saved Caperling from the evil mage that accursed this land with evil men and orc alike.”
“Our legends say that centaurs and elves once lived together in harmony, but then the elves went away,” Lakandras states. “Are you saying that they have come back? Was that why there was a rainbow in the sky for most of yesterday?”
“Your Legends speak the truth. Many moons ago many elves left while many remained to tend to the Mother tree. An evil was cast upon these lands in the form of a human mage who brought orc, evil men and Fire giants. A black dragon was also seen within his ranks. My companions and I defeated this Moorkroft and freed the hidden elves from their wooden prisons. Even freeing Caperling from the mage’s grasp and returning him to his tribe.
The Rainbow was a bridge from the mother tree to the daughter tree in the Elfholds. Many Elves returned to reclaim what they left so long ago, to renew lost friendships.” Laucian adds. “Our people once were allies and sought each other out in times of need. We elves have rekindled the Alliances of old with Galelus tribe and I would wish it so with Astrades Tribe.”
“There are many Followers of Ehlonna with us whom wish to see her shrine retored. The remainder elves wish to see their ancestral homes reclaimed. Would you and your people be willing to help us?” he asks curiously to the centaur leader.

Lilia:

Lilia passes the time in conversation as Clan Long Runner boards the Sunflower.
Doriath wrote:“I am looking forward to it,” Doriath says with a grin. “At my age, any new experiences are rare.”
“New experiences seem to be the norm for me,” Lilia counters. “The things that we've seen these last few weeks are unforgettable.”

The time for flight finally arrives and Kylie has returned so that we can pilot the ship together. Lilia directs the Sunflower out into the river and towards a place it can fit through the trees. Slowly the ship starts to rise up into the sky. The reactions are much as Lilia expected.
Doraith wrote:“Oh my!” Doriath calls out. “I had no idea...”
Andlin wrote:From the back, Andlin lets out a laugh. “They're just getting started,” the armored elf adds.
“Indeed,” Lilia agrees. “This is just a mere taste of what this ship is capable of.”

Once above the tree tops, Lilia turns the ship to the south as best as she can reckon. The large river to the south is our destination, so simply flying that way should lead us to it. The Sunflower is accelerated forward to its top velocity once facing the proper direction.

The reactions to those around her brings a smile to Lilia's face. They are suitable in awe of what is happening.
Doriath wrote:“I think that when you were planning all those organizations to help defend the Sylvan Realm, I think that you forgot one,” Doriath notes. “We never needed one back in the Elfholds, but clearly the Sylvan Realm is going to need a navy.”
“Perhaps someday,” Lilia will agree. “With just one ship, its not a much of an issue. But if we should acquire more, that would change things.”

The southern river is located and the island that holds the Elfin Palace not long after that. The process of taking off is repeated in reverse here. Lilia slows the ship and turns it so that it now faces east. Kylie than lowers us down. The Sunflower flies above the river for a time, but lands as we get close to the docks of Pinit.
Goldenleaf wrote:“That was amazing,” Clan Master Goldenleaf says in awe. “Thank you for your offer. I think you will have no shortage of elfin mages who wish to fly ships like this!”
“You are most welcome, Clan Master,” Lilia graciously answers. “Yes, we will need other elves to learn how to control the Spell Engines. It may be critical in the battles to come.”

The settler start to disembark and make their way to Pinit. As they do, a thought comes to Lilia.

“We should go and check out the Clan Hold to make sure there are no unwanted guests,” Lilia tells those around her. “No Griffon Riders or Forest Riders joined Clan Long Runner on this trip. We should make sure there is no danger before turn our attention to the palace. Spread out and take a look around. Let's make sure everything is save.”

Lilia makes her way towards the gangplank and comes across the Priestess of the One and the Three along the way.

“High Priestess,” Lilia calls out. “Do you have anyone to accompany you to your temple? We have no idea what is waiting for you there.”
Either by my magic or my bow you WILL fall!

Valena:

Valena keeps her eyes open as she watches Laucian move towards the centaurs. One of the centaurs, their leader perhaps, moves away from the others and towards Laucian. They are too far away to clearly hear what is being said.

Regardless, Valena keeps her bow at the ready, but not pointed at any of the centaurs. No need to make them more nervous than they already are.

Lia
As the Sunflower lifts in the air she hears the words of Andlin and a smile etches across her face as she takes in the looks of Clan Long Runner. The look of excitement, nerviousment and intrigue are all there as the mages increase the speed of the ship.
Lia walks over to the stern of the ship and looks out beneath her cowl covering her face for the most part but still allowing her to see though with some irritation. “It is a beautiful sight to see.”she says thoughtfully as she leans her arms upon the railing.
As the ship begins to slow, Lia looks out once again and sees the Palace and surrounding area coming into view. Double checking her gear Lia gets ready to lower the gangplank and then watches as Clan Longrunner steps forward to their new home. Lilia’s words give her pause:
“We should go and check out the Clan Hold to make sure there are no unwanted guests,” Lilia tells those around her. “No Griffon Riders or Forest Riders joined Clan Long Runner on this trip. We should make sure there is no danger before turn our attention to the palace. Spread out and take a look around. Let's make sure everything is safe.”
“We will make it so.” Lia replies as she steps towards the gangplank. As she the familiar feeling of having solid earth beneath her feet. Lia draws her sword and looks about.

Onas Brightsword:

As there are no objections to his recommendation, Onas nods to Fayrianna. "Lead the way, please."

The Silver Maiden dismounts and moves forward on foot, with her unicorn at her side. Elder Treelife goes next, having also dismounted and leaving Laucian's horse behind. The cooshees flank him on either side, clearly aware that they are not alone.

After considering and discarding the idea of dismounting as well, Onas brings Carad Orod in behind the others. If he has to fight, he'd rather be mounted for the additional mobility his warhorse provides.

Surprisingly, Laucian's cat Onyx suddenly jumps down from the cooshee that he's riding and moves to the edge of the road. Seeing this strange behavior, Onas directs Carad Orod to hang back. Onyx's meow is returned with a much deeper sounding one from not far beyond.
Fayrianna wrote:“A feline of some kind?” Fayrianna wonders aloud.
"So it would seem, and a big one at that," Onas replies in a soft voice.

Moments later, movement is heard in the underbrush. Large golden eyes appear, followed by the rest of an enormous cat! Onas has never heard tell of such a creature, and its size is matched only by its beauty. He stares for several long moments as a smile slowly grows on his face.

"Aren't you a beauty?" Onas says as he dismounts at a measured pace. "How did you come to be out here?" Mentally reviewing his supplies, Onas realizes that he has nothing to feed a carnivore of this nature. Clearly, from its size and health, it is more than capable of feeding itself.

Summoning whatever his training has taught him about felines, Onas begins to move slowly at an angle that will bring him closer to the creature, but not approach directly or too close. If it decides to move, he will move in a parallel path. As he walks, he continues to talk calmly and softly, telling the cat how much he admires its beauty, grace, and power.

Stopping a respectful distance away, Onas holds his hand out, open, to allow the cat to get his scent. "Would you like to be friends?" He waits, allowing it to decide whether or not to approach.

Kylie Lanthorn the Half-Elven:

It is morning once again on a beautiful day. Flying the ship in this weather is a joy, and will certainly allow a spectacular view of the Realm as they travel. A seemingly endless stream of elves are boarding the ship, but Kylie is more focused on teaching her mother and the other mage how to fly it.
Talen wrote:“Okay, that makes sense I guess,” Talen easily answers.
"I'm glad you're coming along this time. Isn't it a beautiful day?" Kylie's smile seems to radiate her joy at the prospect of this trip in this fine weather.
Talen wrote:“Yeah,” is all Talen adds. “Well, it will be nice to be out and doing something after a few slow days. Hopefully we wont have too many nasty traps left by Moorkroft!”
"Yes it will," Kylie says, still smiling. "We've already shown that Moorkroft wasn't ready for us. And there are plenty of us with the skills to deal with any traps he left -- including you."

Gweyr wrote:“That is understandable,” Gweyr answers. “Hmm, I guess I never really gave it any real thought. There is far more to it than that. Each clan has its own style, their own way of doing things simply beyond generalizations. I guess as an elf I am accustomed to such things, but they could be confusing to an outsider.”
'"Outsider," that's one way to put it,' Kylie thinks to herself. 'I wonder if there will ever be a day when I'm not seen as an outsider.' "I'm sure I'll pick it up over time."

Lilia wrote:“That is agreeable,” Lilia tells Kylie in regards to who will do what when the time comes to fly the Sunflower. “I'll send someone to let you know when the come back up on deck. You'll need to be able to see so we can avoid the trees.”
"I'll be ready," Kylie replies.
Lilia wrote:“I am not opposed to that idea,” Lilia states. “The more of us who become accustomed to using the Spell Engines the better.”
Kylie just nods, before leading her mother and Gweyr below-decks.

Allurien wrote:“That seems reasonable,” Allurien answers. “That does explain where the magical energy comes from.”
"Exactly. I knew you'd pick it up quickly, Mom." Kylie pauses a moment in thought. "You may find that knowing how to fly one of these will come in handy some day."
Gweyr wrote:“Just cast spells at it?” Gweyr asks. “Wouldn't area effect spells be dangerous?”
Kylie pauses a second, caught off guard by Gweyr's question. "Not that I've seen so far, Gweyr, though it's a good question. As long as you're close enough, it seems to absorb the raw magic from the spell during the casting, so that it doesn't really get a chance to manifest the intended effect. How it would work if you cast at it from a distance, I don't know."

Talen wrote:“This will be quite a shock to all these elves!”, Talen tells Kylie. “Show them what you can do.”
Kylie smirks. "Yeah, I suspect this will be an experience many of them will never forget."
Lilia wrote:“We are ready to go,” Lilia confirms. “You may take us up once we find an opening large enough for the Sunflower to pass through. Once high enough, we shall turn to the south towards the palace.”
"I understand." Kylie flies up to the crow's nest on the middle mast to maximize her view. "Sorry, Dapple, you'll have to stay down there for now."

Lilia guides them out and down the river a bit until they reach an opening in tree cover. At Lilia's signal, Kylie activates the life support function and guides the ship up out of the water. Not wanting to startle or throw too many people off balance, she raises the ship at a stately pace, slowly increasing as they get higher in the air. Many of the elves express their amazement in reaction to this new experience. Kylie looks down and winks at Talen.

Once they clear the opening, Lilia guides the ship forward at an increasing pace. At the same time, Kylie slows the ship's ascent, stopping it completely once she is certain that the have clearance all the way to the Palace.
Gweyr wrote:“I want one of these!” Gweyr calls out. “I thought traveling by griffon was fantastic, but this? To be able to take all your stuff with you and go exploring? It's amazing!”
Hearing Gweyr's comment, Kylie looks down and laughs. "My friend Argent said the same thing!"
Allurien wrote:“There's no wind,” Allurien notes. “Is something protecting us?”
Kylie flies partway down to where she can better explain to her mom and Gweyr without having to shout. "That is part of the environmental support that is tied to the Engine function that provides lift. If you reach out to your Engine, you should be able to sense that function. It essentially creates a bubble around the ship of static air. The ship is much too fast; without it, we might not be able to breathe, much less stand up. It also provides air in case we fly out between the worlds."

After a while, they come in sight of the southern river, and Lilia adjusts their course a bit. Lilia's eyes being more acute than hers, it is a bit longer before Kylie is able to make out the island on which the Elfin Palace sits. As they get closer, Kylie eases the ship downwards as Lilia brings them in toward the dock on the north shore facing the town. Contact with the water causes the ship to slow even more, and they glide into the dock. The ship is tied off and the gangplank lowered, allowing the members of Clan Long Runner to disembark here in their new home.
Lilia wrote:“We should go and check out the Clan Hold to make sure there are no unwanted guests,” Lilia tells those around her. “No Griffon Riders or Forest Riders joined Clan Long Runner on this trip. We should make sure there is no danger before turn our attention to the palace. Spread out and take a look around. Let's make sure everything is safe.”
Lia wrote:“We will make it so.” Lia replies as she steps towards the gangplank.
Kylie glides down out of the crow's nest. "It will be good to scout around the ancient Long Runner clan home." Kylie looks back to make sure that her mother and Talen are coming, along with Dapple, then flies on ahead. As she flies, she readies her bow and gets some altitude so that she has a good view over a wide area.

Kylie wrote:"I'm glad you're coming along this time. Isn't it a beautiful day?" Kylie's smile seems to radiate her joy at the prospect of this trip in this fine weather.
“I just seem to be along for the ride,” Talen observes with a goofy grin. “Yes, it is a fine day. I'm happy that you are happy.”
Kylie wrote:"Yes it will," Kylie says, still smiling. "We've already shown that Moorkroft wasn't ready for us. And there are plenty of us with the skills to deal with any traps he left -- including you."

Lia wrote:Lia walks over to the stern of the ship and looks out beneath her cowl covering her face for the most part but still allowing her to see though with some irritation. “It is a beautiful sight to see.”she says thoughtfully as she leans her arms upon the railing.
“You need a big hat,” Talen observes as he steps beside his sister. “The kind that grandma wore so that the light doesn't hurt you so much. So I take it that you were among the new arrivals yesterday? I hope nothing bad happened. You know how elves can be at times.”
Lia wrote:“I understand. With all that happened to you between the ruins and then the mother tree summoning you it is a lot to take in. A lot of people are looking to you to be a guiding light in dark times. I can see how it would be nerve racking.”
“I don't feel any different,” Talen says. “I don't feel special. Yet everyone seems to think that I am. Sometimes I just wish things were simpler.”

In short order, the ship reaches the Elfin Palace and docks at the Clan Hold. The elves start to disembark and the ship no longer feels so crowded.
