Tales from the Edge - Mos Shuuta Cantina

[Posts combined at least while all characters are in one place. I am not assuming further grouping or lack thereof, this is for convenience of interactions.]

Kori and Mile'ka wander into the cantina and warily look around. Mile'ka does her best to act like a regular and not draw unnecessary attention. The Twi'lek places an order and the Devaronian bartender places two cups of Talmog on the bar in front of her. Dropping a few credits, she takes the drinks and leads Kori to an open booth on the far side of the bar. This section has fewer booths and a view of the door, the bar and the booths across the room. Several of the patrons take note of the two females as they take their seats, but Mile'ka does not notice anyone seem overly threatening yet. A few nods or whispers among the patrons at a table, here and there. Mile'ka keeps a close eye on those two or three tables that took extra note of their arrival.

Finally an opportunity to chat briefly without the threat of Sand People or a Krayt Dragon or trying to talk over the whine of the landspeeder and wind in the Tatooine desert, the two begin to discuss their situations and immediate plans. Kori sees a handsome man across the bar, sitting at the booth where the Falleen female went. When she catches his eye, she winks then looks away.

A short, chubby, blue Ortolan comes in and also sits at the table with the man that caught Kori's attention. Soon after another figure comes over and stands in front of the table, confronting the Falleen woman it seems. Mile'ka notices patrons occupying at least one table unbuckle and even unholster weapons. Several of the booths occupants take note of the encounter as well.

A few more figures walk into the cantina, a pair of radically varying sizes! It is a Wookie and a Squib.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kitazza wrote:“Sweet cheeks?” the Wookie growls his face making a quizzical face. “Gonna buy her a drink next?” he growls with a smirk. “After the store, figured we could grab a drink and see what is going on in this sandbowl.
"I'd DEFINITELY buy her a drink," Pash says with a laugh and a slap on the Wookie's shoulder. "I know they're reptilian, but have you seen her curves? And the way she dresses? She knows she's hot."

Kitazza and Pash go to do some shopping and the little purple Squib, Zavi, follows along. Kitazza adds a glow rod at the last moment, realizing that Zavi and Pash have the right idea in that they are going into a mine and may need their own light. After completing his purchases, Kitazza's translator either changes to Jawa language or malfunctions and a loud "Utinni!" calls out. The Jawa jumps in surprise and several more coming running over to see what all the commotion is about. Pash waves them away as the Jawas try to bargain for Kit"s translator rig.

Pash decides to head to the landing bay. "Cantinas and me don't always mix," he says with a laugh.

Kit and Zavi enter the bar just after the Ubese comes over to confront Neesa. The pair heads to the bar and order drinks. Kitazza surveys the room. While many of the patrons take note of the encounter between the Ubese and Neesa, he sees a booth in the corner that is definitely riveted onto the proceedings. There is also a table of Rodians who have been watching since they walked in and another booth near the bar houses a human female and a Twi'lek female. The Twi'lek is watching but trying to not appear obvious.

Meanwhile, Pash arrives at Landing Bay Besh and sees Vlad already there. While they wait a ship arrives and lands. It is a medium sized Wayfarer class freighter.

While waiting on Neesa, Harrison scans the cantina and briefly notices a pair of lovely ladies, one Human and one Twi'lik, sitting in a booth across the cantina. He is caught off guard, as the human woman and he catch each others eyes for a moment. He catches her brief wink, and wonders if he should buy her a drink, as Neesa slides into the booth, soon followed by the Ortolan. With this Ubese interrupting their conversation, Harrison unbuckles his holster, with his right hand under the table, as the Ubese questions Neesa. He looks towards the Ubese and says sternly "The lady is with us friend. I suggest you be on your way."

Her human companion suddenly seems chatty as Mile'ka takes a sip of her drink, noticing other things unfolding around them. She barely pays enough attention to nod in response at the appropriate times. Then suddenly, despite her normal attempts at composure, her heart skips a beat when a Wookie appears in the doorway. "Is it...?" she thinks, giving in to hope at that moment, but clearly this Wookie is not her apprehended companion.

Tension begins to fill the air around the table with a male human that has caught her companion's eye. Mile'ka will take stock of the other patrons in the cantina to see if sides are forming, or if this is an isolated confrontation. Not knowing all of the players keeps her on edge, but she does her best to feign indifference until something more develops.

Zavi:
Kitazza wrote:Kitazza regards Zavi for a moment, “Just don’t boom boom me,” he growls in response as a relatively loud squeal comes from the translator causing the Wookie to grimace at the sound.
“Zavi would not boom boom a friend!” the squib answers with almost a hurt tone in his voice. After a long pause, Zavi adds, “Intentionally.”
Kitazza wrote:“The sand does wonders for it,” He growls out as his translator slowly kicks in.
“Zavi no like sand sand. Just little flying dirt dirt. Hard to brush brush out. Stings too.”
Kitazza wrote:Kitazza looks back to see the small Squib running after him and his companion. He can’t help but wonder if this how his parents felt before they were split up and he taken as a slave. Kitazza chuckles as his translator starts squeaking in response, “Always room for more,“ he growls out. As they make their exit, Kitazza asks the Squib, “How long you been in Teemo’s employ?”

“Zavi small, not take much room room!” Zavi explains as he catches up. “Zavi no boom boom for Teemo. Zavi look look for work. Need many many credits. Zavi have,” the squib pauses as if searching for the right word, “obligations.”

Zavi follows the wookie Kitazza and his companion Pash. They travel to several of the local merchants. Zavi sees one buying glow rods and that makes sense to the squib so he gets one too. Might as well get a breath mask while there since everyone else is getting one. Maybe they know something Zavi does not. The two talk about the furless green woman.
Pash wrote:"I'd DEFINITELY buy her a drink," Pash says with a laugh and a slap on the Wookie's shoulder. "I know they're reptilian, but have you seen her curves? And the way she dresses? She knows she's hot."
“She no have fur fur,” Zavi notes. “She not hot. Zavi have fur, Zavi hot.”

After shopping, they head to the cantina. Kitazza orders a drink and looks around. Zavi finally sees the table where the furless leader and the furless green woman are sitting along with an Ortolan. Then a Ubese comes over and loud words are exchanged. Zavi watches for now, unsure what is going on.

Kori:

Kori talks for a bit and then begins to realize that her companion isn't even listening! She seems transfixed on the odd couple that just walked in: a Wookie and a Squib. Talk about the long and the short of things!

Right after that loud voices are heard at the table with the cute guy and the slinky Falleen. Something is going on and Kori decides that she really doesn't want any part of it.

“You know maybe you're right,” Kori says to her distracted companion, “perhaps I should get back on schedule.”

Kori finishes off her drink and moves to the edge of the booth seat. She's ready to dash if trouble erupts.

Kitazza-

"I'd DEFINITELY buy her a drink," Pash says with a laugh and a slap on the Wookie's shoulder. "I know they're reptilian, but have you seen her curves? And the way she dresses? She knows she's hot."

“She no have fur fur,” Zavi notes. “She not hot. Zavi have fur, Zavi hot.”
Kitazza absorbs the hit and looks at Pash with a look of disbelief. “If you like to kiss a leather bag by all means," he growls out as his translator whirls and squeals a reply. His amber gaze falls to Zavi and he shakes his head, his Black brown fur shaking a little as he does so. “In this weather we both are…,“ he lets out a chuckle growl as he says it.
Kitazza looks at the incoming waves of jawas clamouring for his translator, his hand instinctively moves to his rykk blade, but then Pash begins turning them away. “Thanks, Dunno what this.....,”a large static sound comes from his translator followed by a rather intense growl.
Kitazza looks about the bar as he orders a drink, he sees a few tables rather intrigued with the goings on with their fearless leader. As he takes a sip of his delivered drink he looks at each group in turn. ‘They look familiar,’ wonder if they have a bounty on anyone. As he watches, the Rodians look on. His gaze comes to two women, one human and the other a Twi’lek. His amber gazes looks over each and lingers for a moment on the Twi’lek. ‘I don’t think they are in on it. The human looks like she is gonna bolt,' he thinks to himself. Lastly he looks at the other table and his gaze narrows as he casually gazes at the remaining table. They look too far engrossed with the table. Looking at Zavi, “We may need your boom,” he growls softly as his translator also kicks in softly. He makes a small nod to the table looking on Harrison and Nessa.

Kitazza will watch and wait for the moment to see what Harrison does.

Stare Down at the Mos Shuuta Cantina-

"Leather can be soft and supple, my furry friend," Pash says with a laugh. "Better than a mouthful of fur! No offense to either of you guys."

A number of beings in the cantina have their attention drawn to the encounter between the Ubese and Neesa, the Falleen. “How nice of you to show your face outside Teemo’s palace again, Neesa.” Her name was spoken with an unhidden disdain. “Are you going to come quietly this time or will there be trouble?” the Ubese says to Neesa, who is currently blue skinned, rather than her normal green.
Harrison wrote:With this Ubese interrupting their conversation, Harrison unbuckles his holster, with his right hand under the table, as the Ubese questions Neesa. He looks towards the Ubese and says sternly "The lady is with us friend. I suggest you be on your way."
The Ubese hunter turns to look at Harrison, giving him the once over, then to the Ortolan and back to Harrison. "This 'lady' is very much my business, 'friend'," he says with the typical metallic voice modulation of his race. He unbuckles his holster and pulls his blaster pistol from it. Turning to Neesa, he holds the pistol close to his side but aims it at Neesa. "I suggest you forget about this trollop. Now, come along Neesa. Don't make this worse for you. These people do not have to get hurt. You on the other hand..." The Ubese lets the threats hang in the air, as more people seem to be drawn to the encounter.

Now what....?

Seeing the pistol now pointed at Neesa and hearing him further threaten her Harrison says "Well I tried to do this the nice way, by asking you to leave.." With his Heavy Blaster Pistol now out of its holster, Harrison keeps it under the table and aims it towards the Ubesse and fires it. (I spend 1 of our white Destiny points and flip it to black upgrading my Ranged Light skill to 2 yellows and 1 green. If I am allowed to use the Aim Maneuver as well, please add a Blue die to my roll.)

While Vlad is at the port waiting for the others he sees Pash enter by himself. "Where is everyone else and the ...." Vlad does not finish his sentence due to the pain in his head from the woman. Vlad takes a look at the time. I hate waiting for people when the job is like this. We are working for a Hutt; they like to get things done fast and if it is not, then we are the ones who will pay. Vlad looks to the sky and says softly under his breath, "If that dammed woman is going to cause us trouble, I will leave her butt on that mine. I already have enough problems of my own trying to find these 'problem people'. I don't need more trouble as is." Vlad pulls his blaster out and starts to clean it and sharpen his sword.

Vlad is waiting at the Landing Bay for the others to arrive, having only made a few purchases and headed here directly. Pash soon shows up as well, but the others appear to be occupied elsewhere.
Vlad wrote:"Where is everyone else and the ...." Vlad does not finish his sentence due to the pain in his head from the woman.
Pash waits a moment for Vlad to finish his thought. Seeing he is not, but already getting the gist, Pash responds, "Kit and the little fuzzy Squib went to the cantina to try and get some info. Cantinas have been a bad place for me in the past. I am sure everyone will be here on time. Neesa said to be here in three hours. We have a bit to wait yet."

Seeing Vlad clean his weapon and sharpen his sword, Pash goes through his pack and resets his new purchases so everything is where he can easily get at it if needed. "I thought it was a little odd to be paid before the job is complete," Pash says, "but I'm definitely not complaining. That's a big blaster ya got there. See a lot of action?"

The ship that just recently landed here opens its ramp hatch and its eclectic crew steps off. There is a Squib who is dressed like a pirate with a red bandanna and a navy blue captain's jacket, a female Mon Calamari, a four-armed Besalisk and a R2 type droid unit. The Squib shouts to no one in particular, "Okay little town, Captain Zate is here!"

-----------------------------------------

Back at the cantina, the encounter has turned from words to weapons...

Neesa looks over to Harrison and starts to get up from the booth, conflict clearly showing on her fine features.
Harrison wrote: "Well I tried to do this the nice way, by asking you to leave..." With his Heavy Blaster Pistol now out of its holster, Harrison keeps it under the table and aims it towards the Ubese and fires it.
Harrison takes a moment to gauge his shot with his blaster hidden under the table. He takes one strain in the course of lining up the shot and fires: a direct hit! (Triumph) The Ubese' armor keeps him from completely succumbing to the blast. He goes down to one knee and staggers a few steps away. For a moment, all is quiet. After the surprise of the attack subsides, the cantina erupts in a flurry of action. The Rodians flip the table over and hunker down around it, opening fire on the booth with Harrison, Bep and Neesa. Numerous patrons dive for cover, crouch behind any available barriers or run for the door. The dancer, seemingly unfazed, continues her dancing while the shooting begins. The Devaronian bartender pulls out a heavy blaster pistol but does not take aim at anyone yet.

One shot hits Harrison for 9 points of damage and another hits Neesa for 7. Bep fires back but misses, and Neesa downs one of the Rodians. A few more shots come in from further down the cantina, but miss hitting the wall just above the trio.

Obvious shooters, besides the Ubese merc, include the 4 remaining Rodians near the center of the cantina and 3 armored figures in a booth near the corner. Others have pulled weapons but have not fired yet.

and now that it has hit the fan, now what...?

With little time to cheer about his surprise attack on the Ubese, and after taking a a nasty hit from unsuspecting enemy fire, Harrison spends a maneuver turning the table over to provide some cover for he and his friends and says to his comrades "Damn, I should have known he would have had some help!" He then spends an action firing at the Ubese hoping to finish him off.

Zavi simply nods in agreement.
Pash wrote:"Leather can be soft and supple, my furry friend," Pash says with a laugh. "Better than a mouthful of fur! No offense to either of you guys."
“If human gets fur in his mouth mouth,” Zavi retorts, “then human doing it wrong wrong.”

Zavi's ears noticeably perk up upon hearing that his boom boom might be required. Looking around, the Squib sees blaster fire erupt from several sources. He notes the armored beings in the corner booth and decides that they will make a wonderful target for his boom.

Zavi unslings his modified blaster rifle and lets out something that sounds like either a malevolent cackle or a what passes for laughter from a Squib. “OH YEAH!” Zavi bellows out as he fires a grenade into the corner booth. Blaster fire will follow on any of the three armored creatures who remain moving.

Kori:

“Please tell me that these people are not that crazy,” Kori whispers to herself.

But alas they are and blaster fire soon follows. Several other tables including the Wookie and the Squib get in on the act as well! The Squib lets out a terrifying shrill that causes the hair on the back of Kori's neck to stand up.

“Are you people crazy?!” Kori calls out, somewhat rhetorically, as she dashes for the exit.

Once outside she runs for her speeder and then will pause to catch her breath and see if the violence is being contained to the just the cantina or is spilling out into the street.

Mile'ka was wondering if someone was going to be foolish enough to start blasting, and it was the male human her companion had eyes for who decides it is worth getting into a shooting match without knowing all the players. Not surprisingly, Mile'ka's companion bolts for the door, risking herself needlessly by getting close to some of the shooters on her way out. However, Mile'ka has not finished her drink yet, and sees no reason to leave. She will calmly remain where she is, watching the battle play out. She will only deviate from this course of action if someone threatens her or if the risk of her staying put outweighs the benefits.

The Wookie watches in shock as Harrison brings the armored man to his knees, so to speak, as blaster fire erupts all around. "I hope Teemo doesn't like this cantina too much." As Zavi unslings his rifle, another female runs from the cantina calling them crazy. 'I'd have to be,' he thinks as he brings his bow caster to bear on the armored men in the corner. "Time to remodel," he growls as he takes aim.

"No blasters, no blasters! Too late..."

Harrison decides to encourage the Ubese threatening Neesa more strongly since words haven't worked. He aims his shot as best as he can, his blaster pistol under the table, and hits the armored mercenary solidly. The Ubese staggers back a few steps and nearly falls from the blast. A moment later blaster fire from various areas open up on the booth that Neesa, Harrison and Bep, the Ortolan occupied. Neesa and Harrison are hit, but Neesa drops one of the Rodians that opened fire. Another several sprays of blaster fire force them all to duck down wildly as Harrison flips the booth table over to give them a small amount of cover.

Meanwhile several of the patrons run for the exit, while most duck down or dash for the relative safety of the bar. The Devaronian bartender ducks down and readies his heavy blaster pistol, a scowl on his features. The Twi'lek dancer seems unfazed by it all and continues dancing while the music plays on.

Zavi lets out a howl and brings his 'boom boom' to bear on the armored figures in the corner booth. The Squib launches a grenade into the area and it explodes, catching all three in its effect. They are all damaged by the grenade and the table has been splintered completely, removing any cover they might continue to have. Kitazza meanwhile sees his little friend's targets and fires into the resulting chaos. His bowcaster takes down one of the injured targets, leaving two remaining there.

Undaunted, the pair fire back. The Wookie is a much larger target than the Squib and therefore is the object of their return fire. The first one misses but manages to slip into cover of the booth's side wall. The second one advances some and hits Kitazza for 8 damage (less soak), and ducks behind a different table, sending the patrons there scattering for other hiding places.

Kori decides to make a run for it, seeing other patrons fleeing as well. A blaster shot flies past her head as she passes behind the large Wookie on the way to the door. Kori dashes to her speeder once outside and stops right next to it, looking back to see if any of the battle spills out after her. For the moment, all is confined to the interior, as she hears more blaster fire erupting all over.

Back inside, the Twi'lek Mile'ka continued to calmly sip her drink and watch the battle unfold. A few others mirrored her actions, but most of the patrons not involved in the shootout had either run out the door, like Kori, or tried to take cover from the intense firefight. Mile'ka looked over to the booth where all the shooting began. There, Harrison fired again on his Ubese opponent. He misses, as the Ubese staggers behind the table that the Rodians are using for cover, but the blast damages the table, hitting it hard enough to spin it sideways and remove their advantage temporarily. (The Ubese used a Black DP to upgrade the difficulty.)

The Rodians scatter but fire into the booth as they move. One manages to quickly find cover, the rest still in the open, ducking down as they shoot. Bep is hit, but the rest of the shots either sail over the booth table or impact upon it. Neesa hits one of the Rodians in the open and it drops to the floor. Bep misses, but finds himself a much better hiding spot as his little blue stubby legs scamper over to the far side of the stage.

The Ubese hunter decides that discretion is the better part of valor and makes a run for the exit as well, pushing past a few patrons as he goes. Kori's moment of safety quickly disappears as the armored humanoid rushes up to her and her speeder. He points his blaster at the girl and yells, "Get in and drive!" his voice menacingly distorted by the helmet's modulator.

Update on map:

Kori's landspeeder is actually across the street, closer to the bunkhouse. The Ubese is in the same place but a little further from Kori than pictured.

Also note the clarification on shooting while engaged in the mechanics section. Engaged range is close enough to interact directly with each other.

Zavi:

Still cackling like a mad man, Zavi decides to expend his last grenade at the armored men. Seeing that one has ducked behind another table, the Squib aims to lob his grenade over the table and have it explode where it will catch both armored beings and the Rodian firing on furless leader and furless blue/green slinky woman.

“BOOM BOOM!!” the Squib gleefully exclaims as he fires the second grenade.

Kori:

“AHHH!” Kori screams as the blaster fire gets closer than she really would have liked. Finally she reaches the exit and dashes across the street to her waiting landspeeder. There, she leans against the vehicle catching her breath and keeping an eye out for any more potential trouble.

Kori puts her hands up between her and the deranged and now seemingly desperate hunter as if holding him at bay. Thinking fast, she comes up with an idea.

“You really want to get away in this piece of junk?” Kori says in disbelieve. “I mean, just look at it! The repulsors are barely holding together and the coolant system is shot! I can't guarantee that this thing will even start! You have better chance of running for it than hoping this hunk of bantha fodder will run!”

Kori tries to appear earnest in the hopes that this mad man will simply go away.

Seeing that he missed the Ubese on his second shot, which allowed the Ubese to escape the cantina, Harrison turns to the Rodian, near the stage, and fires his blaster at him, since that target seems to be out in the open.

Seeing the grenade take away the armored figures' cover, Kitazza smirks as he raises his bowcaster, taking aim and firing. Within moments the injured target hits the deck. A few seconds later he is being fired at: the first misses! Then the second is well aimed, striking him. “Son of a…," his translator kicks in then falters as a rather loud roar/curse comes to his maw.

Realizing he needs cover Kit flips the table before him. If Kit is able he will take aim at any target that presents itself (that is firing at him, Rodians and Armored slightly smoking people.)

Vlad looks at Pash, "I used to see more action but now most of the time one shot and the person that I am aiming at goes down. To answer your other question, this gun is small compared to what I am used to but I have to make do," Vlad says this with out really any meaning but the second half comes out as if he was remembering the past.

Vlad hears the ship and looks up and sees the pirate and his group of people. "If they are our ride, we can take that ship with ease. That is if I had a better gun," Vlad looks at this blaster rifle and wishes it was a heavy blaster while speaking softly. Vlad gets up with gun in both hands and sword at the side just in case things turn south. "Pash," Vlad says to his companion, "I am a solider through and through; talking with my gun is easy but words not so much. Go and talk to them and if it does start going south, put two fingers up behind your back and the shots will start flying." Vlad would like to do a perception check to see what the pirates have.

While Mile'ka watches and sips her drink, the lasers are flying back and forth. Harrison sees the Ubese make a staggering run for it and decides that the immediate threat of his companions is too much to ignore. Giving up the idea of pursuit, he fires at the closest Rodian. It hits but does not fell the target.

Zavi meanwhile continues his mad howling and grenade launching. The second grenade arcs over the table at the armored enemies. It hits one of the armored men right in the chest and he takes the full effect of the blast, taking him down, but effectively shielding the others from any damage. Nearby, Kitazza also sees the Ubese rush out behind him, but faced as he is with direct fire, he decides to concentrate on the current conflict. The Wookie strains and flips over a nearby table with his shoulder and kneels down. He then levels his bowcaster again and fires at the remaining target that he is exchanging fire. He aims, but misses, however the blast drives his target out into the open. The armored figure returns fire, but his shots impact the table the Kit flipped over and miss hitting the Wookie.

The Rodians aren't quite ready to give up the fight yet. However, their shots all miss as they reposition to gain cover once more. The all work their way away from their targets somewhat, giving them the option to head for the door if this lasts much longer without success. Neesa aims and hit one of the other Rodians than the one Harrison wounded. It is not felled. Bep misses his shot at the Rodian adversaries.

At Landing Bay Besh, Vlad and Pash are witness to the landing of Captain Zate's ship and the disembarking of her crew.

Pash looks on. "It could be our ride. I got the impression Neesa was making arrangements for us to be passengers, not have to take a ship by force." Pash thinks for a moment. "Although I could be wrong. And it would be good to have a ship again."
vlad wrote:Vlad gets up with gun in both hands and sword at the side just in case things turn south. Vlad looks on carefully as Pash approaches Captain Zate. The captain has a blaster pistol and no armor. The Mon Calamari has similar gear. The Besalisk carries a couple of duffle bags and has a bulging backpack. Any weapons he has must be packed in those. The R2 droid doesn't have any obvious weaponry showing, but that does not mean it is unarmed.

Pash goes up to Capatain Zate. "So are you guys here for Neesa?" he asks after a brief introduction.

"Neesa?" Zate looks to the other with a shrug. "What's a Neesa? I'm sure Vas'sneg here can take it apart though!"

"No, I think you're mistaken. Neesa isn't a ship, it's a woman." Zate's eyes perk up at those words. "A Falleen woman, to be exact."

Zate's expression turns from one of pleasure to surprise. "Okay, never mind. Never mess with a Falleen, if you have a chance." The Mon Calamari woman laughs at this last comment.

"So you're not our ride, then, I take it," Pash responded. He turned briefly to Vlad and shrugged.

"We've got a full docket of visits here on Tatooine for the next few days, my boy, but after that we can take you and your friend with us. It's 1000 credits a piece, plus a surcharge for distance. Where are you wanting to go?"

"Uh, I think your price is a bit too steep for our crew," Pash frowned.

"Fair enough, "Zate said with his nearly ever-present toothy grin. "Maybe you'd like to buy something?"

Back outside the cantina, Kori was unexpectedly set upon by the Ubese who was after Neesa. Now escape was the most important thing to him and Kori and her old landspeeder was the most obvious means to that end.
Kori wrote:Kori puts her hands up between her and the deranged and now seemingly desperate hunter as if holding him at bay.

The Ubese considers her words for a brief moment. He looks at the speeder, then back at Kori, closing the distance as he does. He gives her a rough shove, knocking her to the ground. She takes minimal damage thanks to her utility suit, but is flat on her back. The Ubese moves to the landspeeder and attempts to start it on his own, but it fails to fire up.

Now what?

Harrison (6 damage, 1 strain taken)
Neesa (6 damage taken)
Kitazza (5 damage taken, 1 strain)
Bep (5 damage, 1 strain taken)
Kori (1 damage, 1 strain taken)

Vlad looks over to Pash and gives a small smirk. "You and I could get along just fine." Commenting on the idea of taking the ship, Vlad thinks for a moment before going back to where he was; not willing to take the risk of some one in the ship using its gun on them. "May as well wait for the others."

Mile'ka finished her drink and these boys still haven't wrapped up their little firefight to any satisfactory conclusion. Still, she is pretty confident of all the players in this little tussle, and it looks as though those with the Wookie are likely to win. She watches as the Rodians move to try and flank their opponents and possibly bolt for the door, sensing they are on the losing end. Never did like Rodians all that much, Mile'ka muses. She will get up and make to leave the cantina, but will take a shot at one of the Rodians (who really should not be expecting her to attack them at this point), preferably one between her and the exit and in the open from her vantage point.

Mile'ka will then exit the cantina and look for where Kori might have gone.

Zavi's last grenade takes out only one of the armored beings. For the rest of this fight he can only use the blaster portion of his rifle. The squib, still out in the open, but a small target, locks on thelast armored being shooting at big furry Kit and fires.

“Fur helps out fur!,” Zavi barks in between his mad howls.

“Seriously?” Kori thinks to herself while she's flat on her back. “How rude!”

“Just crawl away and live for another day,” Kori's self-preservation whispered in the back of her mind.

“You can't lose the family speeder and all the gear for the shop,” Kori's rational mind replied. “You can't afford to get robbed!”

“Losing a material object is better than losing your life,” self-preservation countered.

“Shut up!” Kori yelled at the voices in her head. “I'm pissed off and I'm going to do something about it!”

Self-preservation meekly accepted Kori's demand, while her rational mind closed up shop and locked the doors.

Grabbing her blaster, Kori got to her feet. The Ubese' back was to her and it was failing to start the landspeeder. Clearly he was not mechanically inclined and didn't know how to finesse the machine. Reaching out, Kori put her blaster right at the back of his neck below his helmet and pressed hard so that the Ubese knows that it is there.

“Listen up, dirt bag!” Kori angrily yelled. “I tried to be nice, I tried to let you get away without being harmed, but you just had to mess it up! I am Rianna Del, the Mechanic. I fix things for those who can afford my prices and you just ruined my undercover operation! Now you got two choices and no time to think about them. Place all your weapons in the seat next to you and I will let you run away. Otherwise, I will blow your head off!”

After a pause for dramatic effect, Kori says, “Three.... Two...”

The gunfight in the cantina continues, the Ubese’ associates starting to give ground to our protagonists. Harrison fires once more at the Rodian nearest him. He hits and drops that target, then manages to get another shot off at another target immediately, and also fells that one. At that point, his blaster pistol ammo is drained.

Mile’ka finishes her drink, downing the rest of the glass’ contents and heads for the front door, careful not to make herself a target should either side attempt to retreat.

Zavi meanwhile levels his Corondexx VES-700 Pulse Rifle at his target and a pulse burst of bluish energy fires out. The target’s armor manages to absorb some of the energy blast but he is staggered somewhat by the attack.
Kit wrote:"Your leader fled and you have two dead. You want to be next?" He growls, his translator squealing and putting out some static. "If you want to walk away throw down your weapons...," he growls as he brings his bowcaster to bear on him.
The armored humanoid fires wildly in return, missing Kitazza. He begins to head for the exit.

Kitazza aims and fires his bowcaster again at the retreating target. This shot takes out the target and he nearly falls against Mile’ka as they both converge on the entrance. Mile’ka steps aside at the last moment as the armored figure collapses to the ground.

The last Rodian drops his blaster and throws his hands into the air. He steps away nervously. Neesa’s eyes narrow and she fires her blaster at the Rodian. It his him in the shoulder but does not kill him. He howls in pain and yells, “I surrender! I SURRENDER!!”

A moment later, another shot rings out and fells the Rodian. Anyone turning to look sees the bartender, his blaster aimed at the fallen Rodian. "That's for starting the fight that shot up my cantina." He then addresses the rest of the combatants. "Nobody else leaves until I get paid for the damage you people just caused me!"

Outside the cantina, Kori has had an unexpected encounter with the Ubese mercenary that had been hunting Neesa. After he shoves her to the ground and attempts to steal her landspeeder, Korianna has a burst of confidence and aggression.

The Ubese curses to himself for his attempt at expedience. Wounded as he is from the fight inside, he does not try to overcome his disadvantage. He sets his blaster pistol carefully on the seat next to him and pulls out a vibroknife as well and places it next to the pistol.

He will then step out of the landspeeder and begin moving away, down the narrow street past the cantina and bunkhouse.

By the time Mile’ka reaches outside and sees Kori standing some distance away, the Ubese is gone from sight. Kori is nearly hyperventilating from the rush of the encounter and the subsequent draining of adrenaline that caused her to threaten the Ubese merc.

Much to Kori's surprise, the thug does what she told him to do, drops his weapons and then runs off.

“Apparently no one respects you unless violence is involved,” Kori notes mainly to herself.

The tense situation is finally over and Kori feels like she can finally breath again, since she forgot to. Kori puts her blaster back in its holster, places her hands on her knees and nearly hyperventilates as her surge of aggression leaves her.

Kitazza looks to the the Twilek, his amber eyes watching curiously as she smiles and twitches her tails at him. He gives a nod in hello and returns her smile with a fanged one of his own.
“Kit Kit has a girlfriend!” Zavi says with a laugh, giving the wookie a friendly slap on the side of his leg. “Nice shot shot!”
"She may have been just been drunk...did you see her twitching her tails at me?" he growls in reply.

"Thanks! you're not so bad yourself." When a shot is heard, the last Rodian drops by the bartender's hand. "Guess he didn't pay his tab...." he jokes quietly. But then the Bartender says they cannot leave without paying him. Hearing Zavi's reply Kitazza says, "No drink for me. Here is 100 credits, I'm sure it will more than cover me flipping a table and driving a few of your patrons away...'"he growls as he puts the credits down on a nearby table.

Kitazza will then move to the dead bodies of the armored figures and remove their armor and weapons. And see if they have anything else of value. Afterward he will ask the bartender, "Do you know these Rodians? Know if they have a ship? Clearly they wont be needing it," gesturing to the nearby bodies.

As he does this he says to them, "It won't take long for the authorities to get here, so I suggest we move this meeting elsewhere. I will take care of the damages." After that he heads to the bartender and hands him 1000 credits from his cred stick "That should cover the damages and help you make sure there are no entanglements, between us and the authorities over this." After that Harrison heads back to Neesa and Bep and then gestures towards the exit saying "Shall we?"

With the firefight concluded, the final shot delivered by the bartender, everyone starts to relax a little. The bartender does expect some compensation for the damage done to his establishment telling the group they cannot leave until he receives some credits. Zavi is hoping for a drink but Kitazza declines.

The large Wookie growls and places 100 credits on the bar. The Devaronian smiles a devilish smile and takes the offering then looks to the others. Harrison suggests they get moving before any authorities show up asking questions. He then gives the bartender 1000 credits.
Harrison wrote:"That should cover the damages and help you make sure there are no entanglements, between us and the authorities over this."
The bartender's eyes widen for a moment and he runs the credits through a sensor to prove the are real. He smiles again and nods. "It's a good thing only a few were injured from that unfortunate battery explosion." He begins to clean up the mess.

After that Harrison heads back to Neesa and Bep and then gestures towards the exit saying "Shall we?"

Neesa smiles and agrees. "Best not to linger."

Bep nods vigorously and asks for a spare stim pack to recover from the shot he took.
Kit wrote:Kitazza will then move to the dead bodies of the armored figures and remove their armor and weapons. And see if they have anything else of value. Afterward he will ask the bartender, "Do you know these Rodians? Know if they have a ship? Clearly they wont be needing it," gesturing to the nearby bodies.
With a quick departure desired, it won't be possible to remove armor, just pick up dropped weapons, and only a couple of those at that.

The bartender says that he's seen them around recently but doesn't know them directly. They are not locals. If they have a ship it would be at one of the two landing bays most likely. Unless they left it out in the desert and came in by ground transport.
Zavi wrote:Kit doesn't want a drink and furless leader wants to leave. Zavi sighs to himself and mutters, “No drink drink today.” He'll pause and grab a few weapons from the fallen enemies and anything that looks interesting before following along after the furless ones.
Kit and Zavi each grab a couple of blasters quickly and follow after the others.

Outside the group can see the Twi'lek and her human companion that were in the cantina during the firefight nearby. They are across the street standing next to an older landspeeder.

"I know of a place where we can discuss our transaction in peace," Neesa says. If no one else offers Bep a stim pack then she will apply one to the Ortolan.

As the group gets ready to head to a different location to finalize their transport plans, a woman comes running up to the human woman near the landspeeder.

Kori turns as she hears her name called. The voice gets closer and Kori sees her sister running up to her. "Kori! Kori! Is it you? I'm so glad you're here." Kori can see that Lannera is crying and nearly hysterical. "They arrested Larek. I can't get any answers to what happened or why!"

Seeing Neesa patching up Bep, Harrison suddenly realizes the pain from the shot he took, now that his adrenaline has gone down. He takes out his own stimpack and applies it as well, as he looks own to the commotion across the street.

To Neesa he says, "I would like to know more about that Ubese and his friends as we head to that place. For now, we better get there quick before someone else comes looking for you, and if we ever want to get this mission started."

To Kit and Zavi Harrison says, as he gestures behind them at the cantina "Thanks for your help in there. I hope you two got something good off of them? Perhaps, even a little extra to spread out to the rest of the group, because this mission is starting to get a bit expensive and we aren't even off this rock yet"

Mile'ka arches an eyebrow but does not say anything. Humans, she thinks, getting all worked up for nothing.
“Some bodyguard you are,” Kori teases after she gets her breath back. “Sure, take them. Not like I need them.”
"Good," she replies plainly, "these will help replenish the arsenal I unfortunately lost." As she collects the weapons, Mile'ka responds to her companion's earlier jest. "Acting as a bodyguard does not include protecting you when you foolishly run through a firefight while we were perfectly safe where we were," she chides. "Also, we have not discussed my compensation," saying the last with a grin.

Mile'ka spots the group coming out of the cantina. She looks them over, trying to judge their intentions when suddenly another distraction arrives.
"Kori! Kori! Is it you? I'm so glad you're here." Kori can see that Lannera is crying and nearly hysterical. "They arrested Larek. I can't get any answers to what happened or why!"
Since the two humans seem to know each other, Mile'ka will not blast anyone - yet. Instead she will listen to what is going on in order to figure out the situation.

“Many are the mysteries mysteries of the universe,” Zavi answers sounding almost sage like while shrugging at the same time. “Many are the things that Zavi does not know know. Females, both furred and furless, are one such thing thing.”

“She no my type type,” Zavi continues in regards to the Twilek. “She have no fur and her tails tails are in the wrong place.”
Kit and Zavi each grab a couple of blasters quickly and follow after the others.
Zavi adjusts his blaster rifle to its normal position on his back. He then picks up a blaster with each claw and does a quick check on them. If they show obvious damage and seem beyond repair, he will leave then behind. That task taken care of, Zavi will dash after the faster moving wookie and the furless ones to the street outside the cantina.
Harrison wrote:To Kit and Zavi Harrison says, as he gestures behind them at the cantina "Thanks for your help in there. I hope you two got something good off of them? Perhaps, even a little extra to spread out to the rest of the group, because this mission is starting to get a bit expensive and we aren't even off this rock yet."
Zavi nods his appreciation for Harrison words of thanks. It then hits Zavi that for someone named hairy Harrison is strangely un-hairy, but decides to not comment on that revelation.

“A few blasters blasters,” Zavi will report. “But they might have a ship ship! Drink giver thinks thinks it might be at space port. We check check out?”

Zavi notes that the Twilek who spoke to Kit is across the street, but pays no real attention to her or the furless/tailless women with her.

Kori:

Outside the cantina, Kori catches her breath next to her old battered land-speeder. Mile'ka approaches and the two exchange friendly words. Kori lets the Twilek have the weapons the thug who accosted her left behind.
Mike'ka wrote:"Good," she replies plainly, "these will help replenish the arsenal I unfortunately lost." As she collects the weapons, Mile'ka responds to her companion's earlier jest. "Acting as a bodyguard does not include protecting you when you foolishly run through a firefight while we were perfectly safe where we were," she chides.
“Well, I certainly didn't feel safe,” Kori counters. “Look, maybe that kind of thing is normal for you, but not for me. I'm just a mechanic who is having a really bad day.”
Mile-ka wrote:"Also, we have not discussed my compensation," saying the last with a grin.
“Like I said, I'm a mechanic. I'm used to fixing busted up speeders, swoop bikes and droids. Being shot at is not a part of my job description. Why would I need a bodyguard?”

At that moment, Kori hears her name being called out. Looking around, she notes that some of the people involved in the blaster fight in the cantina come out and are looking around.

“On second thought,” Kori says as she eyes the motley crew, “maybe I do need protection.”

However, they didn't call Kori's name. It came from a different direction.
Lani wrote:Kori turns as she hears her name called. The voice gets closer and Kori sees her sister running up to her. "Kori! Kori! Is it you? I'm so glad you're here."
“Lani?” Kori calls out and smiles as she finally recognizes just who is approaching. “What are you doing in this part of town? How did you know I was here?”

“It's okay,” Kori tells Mile'ka, “she's my sister.”
Lani wrote:Kori can see that Lannera is crying and nearly hysterical. "They arrested Larek. I can't get any answers to what happened or why!"
Kori hugs her older sister seeing that she is upset about something. Something happened to her husband, Larek, Kori's brother-in-law.

“Who arrested Larek?” Kori asks once Lani settles down enough. “Where is he now? Do you have any idea what happened?”

As Kori holds her sister tight, she realizes that Lani has put on noticeable weight in her belly. Eyes wide, Kori lets go of her sister and steps back.

“Seriously?” Kori asks half joking. “You're having another kid already?”

That train of thought turns Kori serious once more as she doesn't see her three and a half year old niece anywhere around. “Where's Adana?” Kori asks with noticeable concern.

"I know of a place where we can discuss our transaction in peace," Neesa says. The Falleen then gives Bep a stimpack and when finished administers one to herself as well.
Harrison wrote:To Neesa he says, "I would like to know more about that Ubese and his friends as we head to that place. For now, we better get there quick before someone else comes looking for you, and if we ever want to get this mission started."
“Agreed,” Neesa says and motions off down the narrow street past Mile’ka and Kori.
Harrison wrote:To Kit and Zavi Harrison says, as he gestures behind them at the cantina "Thanks for your help in there. I hope you two got something good off of them? Zavi picks up one blaster pistol and quickly examines it. It seems to be in working order. The next one shows damage from the grenade blast, so he drops it. He grabs one more on the way out the door.

Neesa leads the group to what appears to be a normal business. She goes in around the back and there is a hidden datapad on the wall. She punches in a code and the door slides open. Inside is a small room with some rough chairs. “We should be safe here for a short while.”

“Visquod and I used to work together. We had a few good missions then got stiffed on a job for a Hutt named Bargos. That lardy slug has a reputation for fleecing people out of credits. Add into that the fact that Hutts use a different number system and you are already out 20%,” Neesa explains with a hint of anger in her voice. “That Ubese blamed me for the error but it was his fault the mission was a bust. I suppose he still holds a bit of a grudge. Fortunately you were all there to help me in my moment of distress,” she says with a warm smile.

After any more questions are answered, Neesa and Bep get down to business. After a bit of haggling, Bep agrees to transport the group to Gavos, wait for the mission to be completed in a reasonable time and return for 2500 credits.

Meanwhile, Mile’ka and Kori are interrupted by Kori’s sister’s arrival. The other group from the cantina passes by while Kori and her sister exchange greetings.
Kori wrote:“Lani?” Kori calls out and smiles as she finally recognizes just who is approaching. “What are you doing in this part of town? How did you know I was here?”

“It's okay,” Kori tells Mile'ka, “she's my sister.”
Lannera takes a few deep breaths to calm herself. “I didn’t know you were here. I was just down the roadway and heading home again when I happened to see you threatening that man who tried to steal father’s speeder. You know, he’d have a heart attack if this thing disappeared, even though it’s definitely seen better days,” Lannera says.

“I don’t know! I can’t get any answers from the authorities.” She begins to cry again. “Two nights ago, Larek didn’t come home from his shift at the Landing Bay. I contacted his supervisor who said he left on time. When I went to the authorities the next day, they said he was being held for questioning, but wouldn’t tell me why. I just went back again and now they are denying he was ever held and told me to enter a missing report.” She buries her face in her hands and sobs.

I didn’t want to drag her around while I tried to get answers. I didn’t want to scare her any more than she is already since daddy isn’t home.”

Kitazza

Kitazza will use a stimpack for his wound.
Zavi tells Harrison about the weapons they took from the Falleen. Kitazza pulls them out and sees if they are functional. "There may be a ship within the loading bays that will need a new crew," he growls and then smiles a toothy grin. "It is ours by right of salvage if we killed them.... It would be foolish to not look into it..."

Seeing the silly human that ran through gunfire to escape as well as the tail-headed Twilek, Kitazza nods in her direction. "Sorry for the trouble," he growls, as his translator whirls and squeals out his response in common. He hears that someone is in trouble but he is already contracted to help the troublemaker Harrison.

Removing his clip from the bow caster, Kitazza taps the clip on his shoulder then blows on the top, tucking it away in his backpack and grabbing a fresh clip. He goes through the motions of reloading it, and stowing it. " I think we should look at the ship. If it's usable....." He lets his remark go unanswered.

Kori:

The family reunion has taken a dire turn...

“At least someone saw that,” Kori mutters in response. At least someone saw her foolish act of bravery. “Yeah, he just might have a heart attack at that. I know I nearly did.”
Lani wrote:“I don’t know! I can’t get any answers from the authorities.” She begins to cry again. “Two nights ago, Larek didn’t come home from his shift at the Landing Bay. Kori tries to digest all the things her sister is telling her. Something fishy is going on but Kori has no idea what. A thought does come to her. “Did you talk to any of his friends? Is there anyone from his gang days he still hangs out with?”
Lani wrote:“’Dana’s going to be four later this cycle. It’s the same difference in age as us,” Lani says as she wipes tears from her cheeks. “She’s okay, she’s with a friend. “That's good thinking,” Kori notes. While thinking on what to do next, the Wookie comes close enough to speak.
Wookie wrote:"Sorry for the trouble," he growls, as his translator whirls and squeals out his response in common.
“That Ubese attacked me and tried to steal my speeder,” Kori tells the wookie in an annoyed tone. “So yeah, there was some trouble that you caught me up in.”

Speaking to the whole motley crew of scum and villainy, Kori will say, “So, any of you have any idea who would kidnap a former swoop bike racer? Or who might know who did?”

Zavi:

After grabbing a few extra blasters, Zavi follows after the others.

After seeing that the two blasters that he is carrying are still usable, Zavi will offer them to anyone who wants them. If not then he will suggest that Kit carry them.

Zavi eyes the Humans and the Twilek as we pass by them. Kit goes to talk to them, but Zavi will watch from a distance.

“Zavi don't know know any kidnappers,” the squib will flatly say without any emotion.

We follow slinky green/blue woman to a secret place so that they can talk. Once at rest, Zavi will reload his grenade launcher in case more trouble comes along.

Mile'ka listens to the two human sisters talk in frantic tones, but none of it really moves the Twi'lek. Someone gets arrested for doing something wrong and everyone close to them cannot fathom what is going on, she thinks.
Seeing the silly human that ran through gunfire to escape as well as the tail-headed Twilek, Kitazza nods in her direction. "Sorry for the trouble," he growls, as his translator whirls and squeals out his response in common.

"No trouble at all," Mile'ka replies.
“That Ubese attacked me and tried to steal my speeder,” Kori tells the wookie in an annoyed tone. “So yeah, there was some trouble that you caught me up in.”
Humans, Mile'ka thinks, always finding others to blame for their shortcomings.

Since it appears to be the end of the excitement, Mile'ka will grab anything left of hers in the speeder and head towards the bunkhouse. She has had quite enough for one day.

As they walk to the location that Neesa is leading them to, Harrison hears what both Kitazza and Zavi say about the Rodian's ship and says to them

"That is a good point, I suppose it is ours by rights of salvage on defeating them. However, don't forget that the Ubese did flee the scene and I bet he will take offense to us requisitioning his ship. Still it is definitely worth checking out, if you know the landing pad it is located at. If it is on our way to where Neesa is taking us, perhaps we can all check it out together. If not, maybe you two can check it out, after we see where Neesa is taking us, so that he can come back and report the situation." After a small pause Harrison will continue, "Also, why not get into contact with Pash and Vlad by comlink and get them to back you up. They are missing far to much of fun."

To Zavi, "Sure, I will take one of those blasters, always pays to carry a spare."

Once at the hideout, Harrison listens to Neesa's story about the Ubese and says "Well we are a team now and teammates look out for one another. As for Hutts, I suppose they are like anyone, some got your back, others have their own backs. I guess I was fortunate hooking up with Ursula like I did. She runs a antiquities museum on Nar Shadda, so she and I share some of the same interests in preserving cultural artifacts. That shared interest has helped make sure we have a good working relationship."
