Kori and Mile'ka - Episode II

Post by GM Fang »

Korianna and Mile'ka's adventure out in the Tatooine desert finally comes to a close as they arrive at the Mos Shuuta electrogate entrance. After a brief exchange with the Gamorrean guards, Kori eases the land speeder into the city. The gate closes behind them.
Kori wrote:“Any place in specific that I can drop you off at?” Kori asks curiously as they get closer to their destination.
Mile'ka wrote:"Somewhere I can store my gear where I won't get ripped off," Mile'ka replies, "and then somewhere to get a drink."
Kori stops by the bunkhouse, she had to stay here one time before her sister was married and had a home available for an overnight stay. It is off to the right from the gate and past the Jawa Traders. The Jawas occupy a group of three buildings covered by a torn sail barge wing strung overhead. One of the Jawas waddles out as you pass, chattering something you can't quite make out.

The bunkhouse is a moderate, two-story building in a not very hospitable area of the Mesa. It is located along the edge of the cliff and shrouded in black acrid smoke from the nearby slagworks. The ground floor is a modest eatery, with an external staircase to the upper bunkhouse area. Across the street is a cantina.

The cantina is sort of kidney-shaped with several steps leading down to the floor. An Aqualish stands outside the entrance and regards you carefully as you approach. There is a small foyer and then it opens into the cantina proper. The bar is to the left and manned by a Devoronian, who doesn't yet seem to even notice your arrival. A half dozen patrons sit at the bar. Several booths line the edges of the bar, some of which are able to be made more private with closed curtains. Various groups occupy several of the booths, either enjoying themselves or engaging in business, both legal and less so. The center of the cantina is filled with many tables and chairs, about half of which are occupied. In the far corner is a stage where a female Twi'lek dances to piped in music. There appears to be room for a live band but there is not one playing currently.

A couple of serving girls wait on tables and booths. As you take this all in, a female Falleen slips past, looks around and then appearing to see who she is looking for, heads to a booth near the stage.

So now what?

Kori:

As she drives the speeder into Mos Shuuta, Kori remembers a bunkhouse that she stayed at years earlier, before her sister was married. She slows the speeder and stops it near the building in question.

“That place is a bunkhouse,” Kori says pointing in that direction. “I stayed there once before. Oh, and there's a cantina across the street.”

Once things are settled at the bunkhouse, the pair cross the street and enter the cantina. It looks as deplorable the last time Kori saw it.

“You wanted scum and villainy?” Kori whispers to her companion. “Here you go.”

Kori would prefer an out of the way booth and will order a mild drink. She notes the Falleen walking past, but thinks nothing of it.

“That place is a bunkhouse,” Kori says pointing in that direction. “I stayed there once before. Oh, and there's a cantina across the street.”

Mile'ka looks the place over and is less than impressed. "Well, I do not plan to stay long," she says to no one in particular. She will head over towards the cantina and look around once she steps inside. She purposefully ignores the Twi'lek dancer.
“You wanted scum and villainy?” Kori whispers to her companion. “Here you go.”
Mile'ka smirks at her companion's earlier misunderstanding. "Actually, I was looking to avoid scum and villainy," she says flatly. "Imperials, bounty hunters, and the like. However, since we are here we might as well enjoy the fare."

Mile'ka will quickly survey the place, and find a table or booth that gives her the best vantage point of the bar and the main entrance. Once found, she will walk past the bar on the way to the seating acting like this is not the first time she has ever been here. She will place an appropriate amount of her meager credits on the bar, indicate two drinks to the bartender, and then take her seat.

Once the drinks arrive and Mile'ka has taken note of who may have been interested in their arrival, she will ask her new companion, "So what business do you have here?" meaning Mos Shuuta. "You do not have to linger if you are on a schedule."

“Can't say I blame you there,” Kori adds as they eye the bunkhouse.

“OH,” Kori says finally getting her meaning. “I'm not used to keeping a low profile. You're wanted or something? Or just looking to avoid trouble?”

The pair move deeper into the dusty cantina. Kori lets Mile'ka doing the ordering and the seating arrangements. From where she is sitting, Kori can see the table that the Falleen took. Seated there is a rather handsome looking man who Kori will wink at when she knows he is looking.

“I am happy to put off my chores as long as I can,” Kori answered in an annoyed tone as She sampled her drink. “My dad runs a mechanics shop and I'm the head mechanic now since his 'accident'. Anyway, I'm up here to pick up some orders that are in and see if I can find a few odds and ends from the local vendors. Real exciting stuff. Hopefully those parts I salvageD will be useful for my projects. But for now I have some time to waste.”

After a time Kori will ask, “So I take it that stuff out in the desert was normal for you? Me, I got out of there as fast as I could once I realized I was in danger. Sometimes I ignore what is going on around me when there is good salvage to be had.”
