Harrison, Vlad, Kitazza and Zavi - Teemo's Palace

The meeting inside Teemo's Palace continues to develop.

"Mighty Teemo, is it this man I am to guard or the item? I only ask so I can make sure I have my mind right and know where my blaster must be pointed at when the time comes." Vlad asks in a normal manner.

"Mikiyuna guardo wanga," Teemo booms, waving his arm across his body. The protocol droid continues to translate. "You are to guard everyone in the group."

After hearing the translation, Harrison turns his attention back to Teemo and says "An excursion huh. That sounds like a fair enough trade, but just where is this excursion headed? Once I know that, it would be easier to find a team with the proper skills to complete the job. Perhaps you have some that you have in mind for the task, illustrious one?"

"Grancha bargon!" Teemo responds. The Hutt then gives a strong shove to his protocol droid and points to Vlad and Harrison. Several attendees in the room chuckle as the droid caroms off the dais. It takes a few moments for the droid to regain its footing and return to its previous place.

"The Mighty Teemo is expanding his business dealings in the mining field. He is about to acquire an operation on the planet Ryloth, mining Ryle of course. And recently he has come into ownership of a company named Orimine Incorporated. The company is processing an oridium mine on a small planet, named Gavos. Recently, we have lost contact with the miners on Gavos. Teemo requires you to go to the mine and find out what is happening there and if necessary rectify whatever problem they may have encountered. Clearly with the amount of unknowns that exist, you will need a well-rounded group to cover any eventualities," the droid explains.

"Kickeeyuna?!" Teemo says to the assembled crowd.

"I'm in!" Everyone turns to hear a voice from the far edge of the Throne Room. The speaker is a smallish furry alien with both rodent and dog-like features. The Squib has violet-colored hair and pulls out a large gun.

From the other side of the room, a green-skinned female slinks up to Harrison and walks around him and Vlad, giving them each a long look. "What are you paying?" the Falleen woman finally asks, in a seductive tone.

Meanwhile, Kitazza and Pash continue their conversation with Teemo's enforcer, Garin Veris.

He chuckles at the human's joke, "If that were the case we'd all be rich as the Hutts." He then replies, “Kitazza, Swift Ghost in your tongue," he says, his translator squeaking as he growls.

Veris nods at the Wookie. Pash introduces himself as well.

“Sometimes it is better to outwit than fight, though if you didn’t intervene, I would have taken one or two with me.” He looks over at Pash, “I won't be so bold again, my friend,” he says evenly from the translator, his growls coming moments before. “It’s a possibility, I have worked for a Hutt before as an enforcer, I know what they are like, better than most. “ Looking at Pash, he is curious what the smuggler thinks.

Pash grins at the Wookie. "It would have been an interesting fight indeed, my furry friend." He looks at Veris for a moment. "Fortunately we didn't need to find out just HOW interesting."

"I'll get you the intro, the rest is up to you guys. Do you have a ship?"

"We were hoping to catch our first mark and take his ship."

"An interesting tactic," Veris responds. "I'll keep that in mind," he says almost absent-mindedly. He then turns his attention back to Kit and Pash. "Let's get you two set up."

Veris leads the pair into the palace of Teemo the Hutt. The guards part and the annoying TT-8L droid comes out for a moment and Veris pulls his sidearm out and points it at the droid's eyeball. It quickly retreats back into the gatehouse and the gates open. The trio pass quickly through the Reception area and down the curved Grand Hallway, eventually coming to the Throne Room itself.

The group stops at the entrance and Veris holds up his hand to wait. Part of the conversation can be heard (assume you hear everything in this post). After any talks with the Falleen and the Squib are finished, Veris raises his voice and strides into the Throne Room. "Here's two more guns for the mission," he turns indicating Kitazza and Pash.

[Kitazza]

Kitazza-
After further discussions with Veris, they enter Teemo’s palace. A droid pops its eyeball out at them; soon after a blaster is pointed at its eye which retracts and the gate soon opens. “Very diplomatic,” he growls and chuckles his translator quickly translating as the gate opens.

Two humans stand in the center of the room before Teemo. Veris raises his hand for them to stop and the Wookie toes the line, relaxing and taking in the conversation before them between Teemo and the others.

"Grancha bargon!" Teemo responds. The Hutt then gives a strong shove to his protocol droid and points to Vlad and Harrison. Several attendees in the room chuckle as the droid caroms off the dais. It takes a few moments for the droid to regain its footing and return to its previous place.

A Squib calls forward then a Falleen. Asking them what they pay. Before he realizes what is transpiring, Kitazza hears Veris:

The group stops at the entrance and Veris holds up his hand to wait. Part of the conversation can be heard (assume you hear everything in this post). After any talks with the Falleen and the Squib are finished, Veris raises his voice and strides into the Throne Room. "Here's two more guns for the mission," he turns indicating Kitazza and Pash.

Kitazza lets out a small growl and roar, though the translator is so low it isn’t heard. Quickly raising his paw to turn up the translator Kitazza looks around the room, then his eyes rest upon Teemo the Hutt, a series of growls and roars and his translator swiftly kicks in cracking and squeaking, “Mighty Teemo,” knowing Hutts like to be glorified and adored, “I’m in. What do we receive in return besides serving in your revered service, your illustriousness?" he asks the Hutt.

Zavi #1

Off in the shadows, Zavi listened as Teemo's protocol droid translated what job the Hutt was offering to the furless men. Perhaps this mission to Gavos would net the Squib some credits and weapon upgrades. Anything was better than sitting around Teemo's palace!

“I'm in,” Zavi called out as he stepped into the light.

The Squib was a typical member of his race. He stood about a meter tall and wore a flak jacket with pockets and pants. Squibs combined the looks of foxes and rodents, but stood upright on their rear legs. Zavi had deep violet-colored fur changing to black in places. His eyes were golden in color and his canine teeth were white and sharp.

“If furless needs big boom boom, then Zavi give them BIG boom boom!” To underscore his point, Zavi produced his blaster rifle. It was hard to make out its brand as it had been heavily modified. Wisely the Squib only points the weapon upwards and well away from Teemo. Even more wisely, he doesn't fire it to show just how much BOOM it has.

“We get shiny shiny for job, yes?” Zavi asks looking for anyone to answer. “Many many credits, yes?”

Not a guard job but a enforce job. This I can do easier. Lets see, there is the treasure hunter(Human), another human thief perhaps, a Wookie better be careful of the temper, a small fur ball with a gun that is bigger than it, and a Green Falleen that is a temptress. Well this group is interesting to say the least. "I will do it," Vlad says. Not that I really have a choice but it does bring me some money and a way off of this rock. Though the Falleen I can live without. Vlad walks to the edge and leans against the railing waiting for the others to reply.

Harrison looks over all the volunteers and then turns his attention to the Falleen woman and says "What I offer miss depends on what skills each of you brings to the team." Harrison then pauses and looks once more to every volunteer and says to everyone "What are your specialties?"

The discussion of business in Teemo's Palace Throne Room continues....

"This Tattletale learned a lot faster than its predecessor," Veris says, implying that the previous one was destroyed.

Quickly raising his paw to turn up the translator Kitazza looks around the room, then his eyes rest upon Teemo the Hutt, a series of growls and roars and his translator swiftly kicks in cracking and squeaking, “Mighty Teemo,” knowing Hutts like to be glorified and adored, “I’m in. What do we receive in return besides serving in your revered service, your illustriousness?" he asks the Hutt.

"Chobasa wooky ee pateesa. Choba makcheesa nagoola," Teemo responds. "Stuta mulee-rah na Ursual-Huttuk."

The protocol droid translates. "Welcome to the two of you to Teemo's employ. The pay for work is in the normal range. Extra pay for this job is the responsibility of Mr. Areostar on behalf of Ursula, his benefactor."

The Squib and the Falleen female step up as volunteers for the job. Discussions regarding payment ensue.

"I will do it," Vlad says. Not that I really have a choice but it does bring me some money and a way off of this rock. Though the Falleen I can live without. Vlad walks to the edge and leans against the railing waiting for the others to reply.

"Seedoneo bargon tula moosta," Teemo says nodding in Vlad's direction. "Dubba guardo ee sobobo hunert creeda," he then says to Harrison. "Teemo says the price for 3 guards is 1500 credits," the droid adds.

The Falleen responds," My name is Neesa Bestuc. I have skills in computers and some mechanical aptitude as well. So you could say I am quite good with my fingers," she gives a wink toward Vlad. "And other parts as well," she says with a smile. (Anyone wishing to avoid being smitted by Neesa's charms needs to indicate wanting to make a Resilience check as Falleen emit pheromones that make them even more attractive to others than they are normally.)

Pash will speak up next, after giving the Falleen woman a long stare. "I'm a pilot and a damn good one. If you have a ship, I can get you where ever we need to go," he says with a grin. "I'm also a bit of a smuggler and an all around great guy."

(Negotiations continue.)

(Resilience check please) So each guard gets 500 not bad pay at all. Now I just need to get my hands on a marksman barrel and an Augmented Spin Barrel I will be good to go.

"Mr. Harrison my job is simple, if we get into trouble that words cannot get us out of, I put a hole in thing that is causing trouble before it becomes to much to handle for the group," Vlad says this with a tap on his blaster. "Mighty Teemo, is there any information on this mine like the amount of workers or droids that are there. If not I am ready to go as is." Only reason I am ready is cause I know that the things I need are more than my pocket can get right now, or better get two things of stems just in case and a breath mask. So we have a hacker and a pilot, this job is getting a bit easier, but a job is never easy no matter how prepared one is.

[Zavi]

Zavi:

“Zavi bring BIG boom boom,” the squib repeats this time showing the underside of of rifle where a grenade launcher had been added. “Big boom boom.”

Seeing that more is required, Zavi adds, “Zavi tinker tinker with things. Make things run run better. Can add boom boom to guns. Zavi like adding boom boom!”

The squib does an explosion gesture with his clawed-like hands while growling something that sounds like an explosion sound.

“Zavi blow things into bits bits and then put them back back together again. Sometimes anyway. Sometimes pieces too too small.” That last part was said with a measure of sadness in Zavi's voice.

“Zavi small!” the squib adds at seemingly the last moment when everyone thought he was done. “Zavi hard hard to hit. Zavi harder harder to kill. Many furless try try. Many furless die die.”

Having seen green furless around palace before, and knowing the charming smell that they have, Zavi will attempt to resist.

Hearing the skills the volunteers have, Harrison puts his right hand to his chin in thought. A moment later he says "Well it sounds like each of you brings your own unique and useful abilities to our job here. Pay for this job will be 500 credits then, as that seems to be a reasonable amount to complete this job." Harrison looks to Pash, "It appears that I must also hire or purchase a ship for us to use, and that seems to be the bulk of where my credits will need to go to." Harrison then pauses and looks over the team. He then puts his left arm around Neesa's waist and brings her in close to his side, as he then raises the drink he has in his right hand and says "A toast then, to the formation of our merry band of adventurers."

[Kitazza]

Kitazza-

Then he learns he may be making 500 credits for this venture. The large Wookie brings his paw to his face scratching his chin as his amber gaze looks at those gathered in turn.

Kitazza gives a slight nod in acceptance of entering the Hutt's employ. He silently hopes it is nothing like his former life. Many whom step forward begin telling of what are their strengths. Kitazza crosses his arms before him, his Bowcaster strap hung over his shoulders so it is within easy reach. “Kitazza," he growls as his translator squeaks in common.

“Kitazza, and I’m not anyone’s pet…,” he says looking toward the others. “I’m a pilot, a good shot, and dabble in mechanics. I was also an enforcer for a time,” he growls as he pops out his claw on his right hand looks at it, sheathes it, then crosses his arms looking at Harrison. “What do you bring to the table? Besides the credits…”he says as his eyes narrow a fraction trying to gauge the human.

Negotiations continue as the group takes form.

Teemo listens to the request, then snaps his fingers. As everyone waits, Teemo fishes out a Nala tree frog from a nearby bowl and slurps it down, whole and alive. He licks his lips with a loud smacking sound. Moments later an RA-7 style protocol droid steps into the room. There is something different about this droid, but you cannot place your finger on it, besides the bug-eyed head.

"Queried: number of carbon-based employees of Orimine Incorporated located on the planet designated Gavos. Information: 64 is the number of carbon-based employees of Orimine Incorporated located on the planet designated Gavos."

"Secondary query: number of silicone-based life-forms based upon the planet designated Gavos. Information: 21 is the number of silicone-based lifeforms based upon the planet designated Gavos." The droid looks to Teemo for a moment.

Vlad hears the answer to the question and soon after gets the wink from Neesa the Falleen. He manages to resist the projected pheromones and unconsciously grimaces in the process. Neesa narrows her eyes and furrows her brow, the smile on her face disappearing for a moment.

"Fair enough. If you can buy a ship, or steal one, that would be better. We'd have more control over where we're going and how long it will take to get there," Pash responds. "I have no idea where this Gavos place is. Never heard of it."

"Well, at least it's not far. I think that should be just rimward of Hutt Space proper," Pash added.

Kit speaks up, using his translator. Taking a look at the Falleen woman, especially dressed rather skimpily as she is, he can feel a strong attraction to her. He manages to avoid showing this unexpected feeling, for now. Zavi manages to overcome the pheromones at this time.

Harrison then pauses and looks over the team. He then puts his left arm around Neesa's waist and brings her in close to his side, as he then raises the drink he has in his right hand and says "A toast then, to the formation of our merry band of adventurers."

Neesa holds up her glass and steps towards Harrison and looking around at the rest of the group. "I accept your terms and look forward to a successful adventure."

After the toast is complete, Neesa will say, "We still have the matter of transportation to procure, as well any additional gear any of us might have need. I think I might be able to get us passage on a ship. Everyone meet at Landing Bay Besh in, say, 3 hours?"

Vlad bows his head to Teemo. He walks to the entrance of the room, looks back, "It is a pleasure to work with you all," Vlad says with a bit of pain, has he shakes his head to focus on the task. The first stop Vlad goes to is a shop to get a breath mask, rope and a Military Backpack. After that he looks at what he has and sighs to himself. Better head to Landing Bay Besh and put on this breath mask so I can focus. So the mine is ran by things that can talk- human, wookie, bugs, and ect. - the other group has me worried. When Vlad gets to the bay he will wait for everyone to come by.

[Kitazza]

Kitazza-

Kitazza’s eyes take in the Falleen female, for several long moments; he gazes at her then a feeling he hasn’t felt before in his stomach, he swallows then slightly shakes his head. His fur's flying this way and that. “There was mark, a smuggler whom has a ship…Though, he maybe off planet. Could get us some credits and a ship for our trouble before we go,” he growls evenly looking toward the others, then back to Harrison.

Neesa holds up her glass and steps towards Harrison and looking around at the rest of the group. "I accept your terms and look forward to a successful adventure."

Kit takes the drink holds it up, sniffs it, pretends to take a drink then places it aside, “Agreed.” He growls as his translators starts to squeak . Quickly adjusting it. “I’ll see you at the bay.” He looks to Pash, I need to pick up somethings. “Kit will make his way to the entrance unless someone stops him or makes conversation. Once in the light of day, Kitazza will seek out a merchant that sells a rebreather, then go to the Cantina.

After the celebratory toast and finishing off his drink, Harrison passes out the credits to the team members and then when he gets to Kitazza he says, "To answer you question, as an archaeologist, I am skilled in ancient lore and xenology. I also have some knowledge about the Outer Rim and understand the workings of the Underworld and Warfare, if required. Basically, you can consider me our group's bookworm. However, I can use a blaster if needed, and have been known to handle myself in a bar fight, in a pinch."

To Neesa, "If you need a hand getting us transportation, I can accompany you, just in case you get into a bit of trouble."

If she denies the help, then Harrison will head out to pick up a rebreather as well. He also will stop off at a leather shop as he seems to be itching to purchase a whip to complete his ensemble. Since we are going into some mines, perhaps picking up some climbing gear or at least some rope wouldn't be a bad idea as well.

[Zavi]

Zavi:

“Zavi boom boom many things,” the Squib responds to Kitazza. “Sometimes Zavi boom boom things others don't want to have boom boomed. Such is life. Zavi know how to put put some things back together, but not everything.”

“Nice pelt,” Zavi compliments the much larger wookie. Zavi barely reaches his weapon's belt! What a weapons platform he would make!

Neesa smiles and returns the hug, whispers something, but then lithely slides away and steps over toward the cantina. She snaps her fingers twice and holds up five fingers. Moments later a pair of Twi'lek serving girls come and serve drinks to the other members of the new team (Harrison already has a drink).

Zavi accepts the drink and goes through the toast as it seems to matter to the furless here. Zavi just takes a sip from the drink and does not consume it all. More talk talk follows, but it mostly bores Zavi. A place to meet is named and a time is set.

Seeing the Wookie start to leave with his companion, Zavi decides to join them.

“Zavi come with you you, Kitazza,” the Squib says as he speeds after the large Wookie. “Furs need to stick stick together.”

With the group assembled and agreed upon, Harrison operates his special datapad to download and transfer 500 credits each to himself and each of the members of the group. Our protagonists begin to split up somewhat to complete desired tasks.

Vlad goes into the town to look for a breath mask, synthrope and a military style backpack. He is able to find the items between the Junk Trader and the Jawas. He pays a total of 125 credits for the items as some of them have a higher value in such a location. Vlad will then head to the afore-mentioned warehouse and wait for the others to arrive.

To Neesa, "If you need a hand getting us transportation, I can accompany you, just in case you get into a bit of trouble."

Harrison asks Neesa if she would like some assistance in acquiring their transport off-world. The Falleen considers for a moment.

“Yes, that might be a good idea afterall,” she finally says. “Pick up the items on the shopping list and meet me in the cantina. I will have our contact meet us there.”

Harrison goes to the same locations that Vlad did to get his rebreather. The climbing gear is available from the weapons dealer in Mos Shuuta, a Trandoshan named Acevedo. He also has a whip available, but he is asking 700 credits and this is more than Harrison wishes to spend just now.

After collecting his gear, Harrison will make his way to the Cantina. The cantina is sort of kidney-shaped with several steps leading down to the floor. An Aqualish stands outside the entrance and you can see that he is giving you a cursory visual inspection. There is a small foyer and then it opens into the cantina proper. The bar is to the left and manned by a Devoronian, who is busy serving drinks to the half dozen patrons sitting at the bar. Several booths line the edges of the cantina, some of which are able to be made more private with closed curtains. Various groups occupy several of the booths, either enjoying themselves or engaging in business, both legal and less so. The center of the cantina is filled with many tables and chairs, about half of which are occupied. In the far corner is a stage where a female Twi'lek dances to piped in music. There appears to be room for a live band but there is not one playing currently. Harrison takes a seat at an unoccupied booth near the stage.

“There was mark, a smuggler whom has a ship…Though, he maybe off planet. Could get us some credits and a ship for our trouble before we go,” he growls evenly looking toward the others, then back to Harrison.

“That could be an option if sweet cheeks there isn’t able to get us a ship,” Pash responds. “Of course if that mark is off-world already, then it won’t be any help just yet.”

Kitazza and Pash go off to pick up some gear.

Seeing the Wookie start to leave with his companion, Zavi decides to join them.

“Zavi come with you you, Kitazza,” the Squib says as he speeds after the large Wookie. “Furs need to stick stick together.”

The Squib follows along and the trio make their way through Mos Shuuta, looking for a breath mask. Pash is also interested in picking up some stim packs and a glow rod. Kitazza spends 50 credits to the Jawa trader for the mask. While there, Zavi likes the idea of the glow rod that Pash selects, and grabs one for himself.

Harrison doesn’t have to wait long before Neesa arrives in the cantina. She looks around briefly, gauging the crowd. With a frown on her exquisite features, she heads over to the booth where Harrison is already seated. She slips lithely into the booth and leans in to whisper, “Our contact will be here momentarily.”

Again the wait is not overly long, when Neesa looks up and gestures discretely to the Ortolan who enters the cantina. The little blue alien waddles over and takes a seat next to Harrison.

“Thanks for meeting us here, Bep,” Neesa says with a smile. “Good to know Vanda is still on planet. Bep here is first mate on a ship that should do just fine for what we need,” she adds to Harrison.

“Holaoey!” the Ortolan says with a grunt and a bit of a hoot of its long snout. “Always lookings for easybib credits, no?”

“That’s what I was hoping for, Bep,” she answers, winking slyly at the blue humanoid.

The Ortolan hoots again as quietly as he can. “Majen va ts ras quee!” he adds. “Let’s talk price.”

Neesa turns to Harrison. “I think that’s… uh oh…” She stops and Harrison and Bep can both see that Neesa’s attention is drawn to the cantina entrance. She tries to hide herself, her skin tone quickly changing to a blue similar to the Ortolan and she shields her face with her hand and looks away.

Unfortunately, it is too late. The figure in the cantina entrance appears to be an Ubese male in dark, but dusty robes, and wearing their signature helmet and breath mask combination. The Ubese receives a signal from someone across the bar and his attention immediately goes to Neesa. He walks over and stand in front of the booth that Harrison, Bep and Neesa occupy.

The Ubese looks directly at Neesa, almost ignoring the other two. He speaks, his voice the metallic modulation that is common to their kind, “How nice of you to show your face outside Teemo’s palace again, Neesa.” Her name was spoken with an unhidden disdain. “Are you going to come quietly this time or will there be trouble?”

At this moment, Kitazza and Zavi reach the entrance of the cantina themselves. Pash has gone on to the warehouse and meets Vlad waiting there.

And now what?

Kitazza-

“Zavi boom boom many things,” the Squib responds to Kitazza. “Sometimes Zavi boom boom things others don't want to have boom boomed. Such is life. Zavi know how to put put some things back together, but not everything.”

Kitazza regards Zavi for a moment, “Just don’t boom boom me,” he growls in response as a relatively loud squeal comes from the translator causing the Wookie to grimace at the sound.

“Nice pelt,” Zavi compliments the much larger wookie. Zavi barely reaches his weapon's belt! What a weapons platform he would make! “

“The sand does wonders for it,” He growls out as his translator slowly kicks in.

That could be an option if sweet cheeks there isn’t able to get us a ship,” Pash responds. “Of course if that mark is off-world already, then it won’t be any help just yet.”

“Sweet cheeks?” the Wookie growls, his face making a quizzical face. “Gonna buy her a drink next?” he growls with a smirk. “After the store, figured we could grab a drink and see what is going on in this sandbowl.

Kitazza and Pash go off to pick up some gear. Seeing the Wookie start to leave with his companion, Zavi decides to join them.

“Zavi come with you you, Kitazza,” the Squib says as he speeds after the large Wookie. “Furs need to stick stick together.”

Kitazza looks back to see the small Squib running after him and his companion. He can’t help but wonder if this how his parents felt before they were split up and he taken as a slave. Kitazza chuckles as his translator starts squeaking in response, “Always room for more,“ he growls out. As they make their exit, Kitazza asks the Squib, “How long you been in Teemo’s employ?”

Upon reaching the Jawas, Kitazza looks around for a rebreather and realizes they will be underground and as the others buy glowrods, Kitazza does the same. Seeing some armor in the corner, Kitazza rummages through it, seeing if any of it looks suitable for his size. Kitazza then approaches the Jawas, hands over his credits. As the Jawas speak their language a low rumble of thanks comes from the Wookie, his translator screams out, “Utinni!” A total look of confusion comes to the Wookie's face as he removes his translator and looks at it, thinking it is faulty. "I’ll have to look at it later," as he puts it back and turns it down on low volume.

Making their way to the Cantina, Kitazza and the Squib walk into the cantina and look around, Kitazza looks about the bar for any familiar faces where his amber eyes fall on Harrison, an Ortlnan and a Falleen. Looking a little harder, Kitazza assumes it is Neesa but she is blue! “Must be the contact,” he growls evenly as the translator is barely heard. While walking to the bar and ordering a drink, Kitazza takes a moment to look at the other patrons of the cantina, he will see if he notices anyone looking interested in Harrison’s and Nessa’s table.
