Harrison and Vlad - Episode I

Post by GM Fang »

Both the Archaeologist working for Ursula the Hutt and the Hired Gun working for Seedoneo the Rodian sand trader arrive at Teemo's Palace at the same time, both expecting an audience with the ruling Hutt himself. Unfortunately they are met by a TT-8L, Tattletale droid, definitely the most obnoxious droid model ever made.
Harrison looks over at the other individual that has shown up and grabs the front brim of his hat and pulls it down and then back up quickly and says "Well good luck to you on getting past the droid stranger. Though, by the look of you, I am sure I will see you inside very shortly."
Harrison starts to walk forward, expecting the gate to open, but the eyestalk looks over at Vlad. It quickly turns back to Harrison, and repeats, "Individual too dusty for immediate entrance."

"I thought you meant him!" Harrison protests, but the droid just turns back to Vlad once more. The Merc has pulled out his holo-communicator and contacted his boss once more, the rotund Rodian appearing in the holographic image.
"Mr. Seedoneo, question for you. Did you tell Teemo that I was coming over?" I say this with the holo-com in front of the eyeball. Keeping a calm appearance. I hate droids, but I hate it when people do not do their end even more. I also look for a piece of paper in my pack that has Seedoneo's name and mine on it.
Seedoneo responds curtly, "Of course Teemo is expecting you. He and I have a contract for a job. He will have all the details." He then quickly cuts off the transmission.

The eyestalk disappears back into the gatehouse. Long moments pass and Harrison looks at himself and tries a little to dust himself off. The two men exchange a look and a few more moments pass. The eyestalk does not return but eventually the electrogate slowly opens.
Harrison then starts walking inside the palace. Upon entering, Harrison looks over at all the decorations covering the walls and walkway and shrugs his shoulders and then says under his breath "Well, he's got a pretty nice entryway I will give him that." Before too long, Harrison arrives at what appears to be some kind of reception room.
Vlad follows and the two wait only a moment before a female Twi'lek appears. She is wearing a dancer's skimpy outfit and appears slightly nervous. "The great lord Teemo will see you both soon. In the meantime, can I bring you some refreshments?"

Noticing the blue skinned Twi'lek's nervousness, Harrison gives her a reassuring smile and says, "That's very kind of you doll, I'll take something ice cold. Perhaps, a bit of Tatooine's finest brew. Hopefully, it will soothe my throat from all that dust out there," Harrison says as he gestures behind him with a thumb. He then continues, "What about you stranger? You going to throw down a cold one too, while we wait?" Harrison says as he looks back at the man that came in behind him.

"No, I am good. Drinking before meeting a Hutt is bad luck. Well at least with me it is," I say and give a bow to the girl. "Lets go see what our job is. By the way, what do you do and who sent you here?" I ask.

Harrison nods to the stranger behind him and says "I have heard about that superstition, but I have never had that problem with my dealings with Ursula." Harrison pauses a moment before continuing, "That's who sent me, by the way, Ursula the Hutt of the Gorgensla clan. Didn't you hear that droid outside repeat it back? Anyway, my name is Harrison Aerostar, and I am an archaeologist." Harrison holds out his hand in greeting. "And, you are?" Harrison hold his question out there waiting for a response.

"Name's Vlad, Mr. Aerostar. I am a hired gun that works for a Rodian, that is borderline the size of a small Hutt." Vlad takes Aerostar's hand and shakes it. "I do not know if we will be working together or not but it is nice to meet you. Now lets go find out our work," Vlad says to Aerostar and waits for the summons from Teemo. Vlad pulls out his blaster and cleans it to keep his mind sharp and listens for any talk that is outside of the room that they are in.

The Twi'lek smiles shyly. "I will return in but a moment."

Some time later, she returns and brings a tall glass filled with a bluish-green liquid. It is cool to the touch. "Here you are. It is a Tatooine Sunburn." The Twi'lek hands it to Harrison and bows. "Are you sure you would not like something?" she asks Vlad.

(Feel free to continue the conversation between the two PCs, should you wish....)

Vlad pulls out his blaster and cleans it to keep his mind sharp and listens for any talk that is outside of the room that they are in.
The reception room that you are in is a large crescent shaped room (as the entire palace curves and twists). There are several other groups of individuals waiting here as well. The entry from outside is open, but the other doors are closed. There is a smaller door opposite the entrance to the left side of the wall and a much larger doorway to the right. Two refreshers are along the short left hand wall. With the doors being closed you cannot hear anything from outside the room. The other groups talk in hushed tones and from what you can pick up, are discussing either working directly for Teemo or some business opportunity they are bringing to him.

After a longer wait than expected, although the other groups have all been here longer than you, the Twi'lek comes and motions for you to exit through the large door. Inside are two more Gamorean guards and a human who escorts you down the curved Grand Hallway. The human wears black padded armor and carries a blaster carbine on a sling over his shoulder. A few workers, attendants and guests mill about in the Grand Hallway.

At the end of the hall, the armored escort motions to the left and you see stairs leading down. From here you can hear music playing and the noise of many conversations. Heading down the stairs (the escort follows), you soon come to a huge circular room: Teemo's Throne Room. It is tiered and with tables and chairs around. Across the way the Throne Room has it's own Cantina Bar. There are several other exits that can bee seen across the room. The center of the Throne room is a giant pit, which can be viewed from nearly anywhere around the Throne Room. Finally, there is the dais where Teemo himself sits.

As you step into the Throne Room, the escort motions to Teemo's protocol droid, who then whispers to the sleeping Teemo. Teemo opens his eyes and looks over in your direction. Others in the room obviously are drawn to your arrival and turn to look as well. Teemo smacks the droid on the back and points toward you. The droid then speaks once it has regained its balance. "The Great and Mighty Teemo bids you welcome and requests you to come and stand before him." The escort has since draw his blaster carbine and uses it to point in Teemo's direction, obviously urging you to move forward as well.

And now what?

As he feels the blaster against his back, Harrison leans in toward Vlad and whispers "Hmm, you might have been right about that superstition after all, but if he wanted us dead, he could have killed us a long time ago." He then moves forward to stand before the Hutt and speaks to Teemo, "Greetings illustrious Teemo. I come on behalf of Ursula, of the Gorgensla clan, about information you may have about an ancient relic that was discovered near The Great Salt Flats. Surely, a blaster at one's back is not how you treat invited guests."

Vlad sees the blaster and does not like where this is going. Damn armed guard, if it was the pigs, it would have been a bit easier but with him if the deal does not go through both of us are going to be monster food. Vlad takes a deep breath before speaking. "Mighty Teemo," Vlad goes to one knee and places his blaster next to his foot in a sign of trust, "my boss Seedoneo has told me that you need me to help you with a deal and that you would give the finer details." And this is why I do not drink before seeing a Huyt. I am just glad that there is no big monster to fight.

Now in Teemo's Throne Room, Vlad and Harrison are brought to Teemo himself. The music and commotion continues by the other inhabitants of the Throne Room, but several of them have taken notice of the new arrivals.

Summoned by Teemo's protocol droid and prodded along by his guard, Vlad and Harrison approach the dais that Teemo rests upon.
Harrison wrote:He then moves forward to stand before the Hutt and speaks to Teemo, "Greetings illustrious Teemo. I come on behalf of Ursula, of the Gorgensla clan, about information you may have about an ancient relic that was discovered near The Great Salt Flats. Surely, a blaster at one's back is not how you treat invited guests."
Teemo laughs loudly and deeply. "Echeeta wonga wonkie," he says to the assembly in his room. "Tachuckoo longawa mocho chiti bantha poodoo!" Teemo laughs again. The protocol droid speaks up. "If the mighty Teemo wished you dead, you would already be bantha fodder."
Vlad wrote: "Mighty Teemo," Vlad goes to one knee and places his blaster next to his foot in a sign of trust, "my boss Seedoneo has told me that you need me to help you with a deal and that you would give the finer details."
"Awunga wonka to-tana bokawangy." Teemo says in his booming voice. "Tooka meedeeya lowchawa mulee-rah." The protocol droid translates once more. Harrison does know some Huttese, but the translation helps and Vlad has only had a small amount of experience in understanding the Hutt language. "Teemo has some information that he may bargain. But he does not want something as simple as money."

"Bargon sa stuta azalus unubunko Jee." The protocol droid says,"Teemo wants you to do a job for him."

"Wanga guardo," Teemo says gesturing towards Vlad. "Mikiyuna kawagu dokee ma-wantu, Ursula-huttuk." The droid translates this, "You are to be the guard for this excursion," he says, pointing towards Vlad. "And you," he indicates Harrison, "are to assemble the rest of a team to complete the trade for your boss."

Now what?

After hearing the translation, Harrison turns his attention back to Teemo and says "An excursion huh. That sounds like a fair enough trade, but just where is this excursion headed? Once I know that, it would be easier to find a team with the proper skills to complete the job. Perhaps you have some that you have in mind for the task, illustrious one?"

Guard. I am to guard people. Well this is new but better make sure. "Mighty Teemo, is it this man I am to guard or the item. I only ask so I can make sure I have my mind right and know where my blaster must be pointed at when the time comes?" Vlad asks in a normal manner.
