Kitazza - Solo Start

Post by GM Fang »

This Doesn't Look Like Mos Eisley...

Kitazza the Wookie stepped off the YT-1300 freighter that had transported him from Hutt Space to a new opportunity. The giant Chevin, a large sentient species with massive elephantine heads that stretched the length of their entire bodies, had offered him transport away from Nar Shadaa in exchange for a couple of fights in the Mos Eisley battle pits. Madon Ani, the Chevin, recognized the fighting ability of the young wookie and hoped to make some credits to cover the transport costs, and then some. Kitazza needed to get some distance between himself and the Hutt named Slarr Uwanesh Diann, an up and coming crime lord, who had held the wookie as a slave and enforcer since a young age.

Kitazza was somewhat surprised when Madon Ani and his Chev guards ushered him quickly off the landing ramp, along with the three other humanoids that had taken the trip as well. Nearby, a squad of Storm Troopers were approaching menacingly. Madon Ani shouted orders to his guards and one opened fire on the Storm Troopers as the ramp hastily was raised and the freighter fired up and began to lift off.

The Storm Troopers began to fire at the departing ship but their small arms fire was ineffective and the freighter raced away into the swirling dust-filled air. Kitazza looked around again. This place didn't look like what the Chevin had described Mos Eisley to be like at all! The structure was a roughly circular landing bay and another freighter was sitting nearby. A few people mulled about but most had taken cover when the blaster fire began.

So far the Troopers haven't taken full notice of you, still watching Madon's freighter disappear into the sky.

Kitazza
‘Well, here goes nothing.’ The young wookie thought as he stretched from the flight and gathered up his belongings. The deal seemed easy enough, a few fights would earn his way away from Nar Shadaa. He thought for a moment of how his former master, Slarr Uwanesh Diann, would react upon hearing of his escape. He chuckled deeply, the countless credits his former master had spent on feeding him and training him, let alone the credits he had acquired for the crime lord, was a hefty sum.

He absently raised his paw to his voice translator and turned it on. Gathering up his belongings, Kitazza was ushered out and down the ramp.”Rawr, growl.” And a moment later a deep voice which cracked and hissed with static. “What’s the hurry? The fights aren’t until tomorrow.” Lowering his large frame the black and brown wookie stepped off the ramp, as a Chev guard prodded him forward. His golden eyes looked at the other passengers, squinting slightly as he did so.

Before he could ask them a question, the sound of boots hitting the ground caught his ears. Looking in the direction of the sound, he lets out a low growl of annoyance: Storm Troopers! Within moments, Madon Ani is shouting orders to his men and one of them begins firing! A rough growl and snarl fills the air a moment later “Ani, you druk!!”

More blaster fire fills the air and he begins to cough as the freighter’s engines kick up dust from the landing pad. Realizing he only has a few moments before the Storm Troopers turn their attention on him, the young wookie moves toward cover and away from the other travelers. Hoping that one of them is the prize they are looking for.

Answers to Questions:

How many is in a squad?
Normally five troopers plus a sergeant. This is the number here in the Landing Bay.

Is anyone loading cargo nearby?
No, the stationary freighter looks to be undergoing repairs and fueling.

What are the other passengers?
One is a white-furred Talz, one is a male human and one is a Nikto.

How far to the freighter?
It is medium range from where you are. In this game, there are range bands. It takes two movement actions to move from long range to medium range. It takes one movement action to move from medium range to short range. It take one movement action to move from short range to close range or engaged range.

Anyone near the freighter?
There are a mechanic and a droid working on the ship. A few people mill about some further distance away, but the landing bay is relatively empty.

Do the other passengers carry weapons?
Yes, the Talz has a large black tipped primitive spear. The human has a couple blaster pistols and some light armor. The Nikto is more heavily armored in leather armor and carries a blaster carbine and a vibrosword.

If Madon Ani hears Kitazza's insult, he doesn't respond directly. "Go to Mos Eisley!" he shouts to the group in general before the landing ramp finishes raising up and the freighter lifts away.

The Storm Trooper squad opens fire on the freighter, but it is highly ineffective and Madon's ship is soon lost from sight. Kitazza takes the opportunity to take cover behind some nearby machinery, hoping the Troopers had not seen him yet.

The wookie hears the Storm Trooper sergeant's mechanical voice ring out over his helmet's vocal comm. "Round up everyone who was on that ship. I want to ask them some questions!"

Peering over the machinery, Kitazza can see the Storm Troopers lower their weapons at two of the other passengers. The large Talz appeared to have already run off somewhere. The human raised his hands, while the red-skinned Nikto glared menacingly back at the Imperial troops.

A moment later, the sergeant raised his hand to his helmet as though he was getting a communication over his comm. "Forget these scum. Follow me!" The sergeant signaled his men to leave the hangar bay and they dutifully followed quickly behind leaving several somewhat confused individuals behind in their wake.

“That was foolish,“ he thinks to himself, as he sees the other members surrender and glare at the storm troopers. “But then, if I had my armor…”, he thought to himself, as the leader of the stormtroopers calls off his dogs.

Rising up from his cover, he frees his bowcaster and stares after them as they leave. He looks around at his fellow passengers and dock workers alike. One thing is clear they are as confused as he is. Walking toward the Human and Nikto, he calls out with a typical wookie greeting as he draws closer only to have his translator crackle and repeat it.

“It seems that we are to go to Mos Eisley…. Where ever we are now…. What did Madon Ani promise you to come on the voyage? Were you to fight as well?” He looks between the Nikito and human hoping for an answer as his translator cracks and statics. “I think we may have common interests," he says with a half grin exposing his teeth.

The human seems a little surprised by the Wookie walking toward him, while the Nikto appears to size him up, less taken aback.

"Go to Mos Eisley?" The human asked, surprisedly. "We're free of that brutish druk. Why would we go to Mos Eisley now?", he turned to look at the Nikto.

"Leave one master. Leave another master." The Nikto said in simple Basic. "Plitak now no master."

"Madon dropped us here. We don't owe him anything. I never trusted him anyway. Better to go work for a Hutt now than that Chevin!" The last word was spoken with obvious disdain.

"Plitak go!" The Nikto stated and headed for the closest exit.

"Leave one master. Leave another master." The Nikto said in simple Basic. "Plitak now no master."

Kitazza, roars in agreement but his translator gives out and only lightly crackles.

Reaching up he plays with a few knobs, “I will serve no one but myself. I will be no one’s slave.”

“Careful of what you wish for,” He stated calmly in a several growls and snarls. ”The Hutts are not ones to cross. Best to stay on their good side.” If they even had one, he said to himself. All he knew was life among the Hutts for as long as he could recall. He had some memories of his homeworld, fragments really. Home within the trees, glimpses of his long forgotten family. He shook himself from his reverie realizing that life was no longer his. Ever since the Trandoshan came a calling.

“I’ll see him pay in time,” he growled, as his translator creeked and whined in protest. The Nikto soon leaves giving him one last look. He looks back at the human, “Wonder where we are?” he asks a rhetorical question as he makes his way toward the exit.

"I don't think they have a good side," the human grunted in response. "They're so fat, they only have one side!"

The Nikto soon leaves the hangar, not appearing to want to wait around for something bad to happen.
He looks back at the human, “Wonder where we are?” he asks a rhetorical question as he makes his way toward the exit.
"Beats me," the human said. "But anything is better than fighting in the gladiator pits of Mos Eisley!" He follows the Wookie out of the hangar and into the outside street. The wind whips up around, pelting the two with sand and dirt, stinging the eyes and choking off the breath. The sky is dark, but you are not sure if it is dusk or if the dust-storm is simply this strong. Visibility is about to medium range and you have no idea how long this will last. It starts to die down after a few moments, but still continues enough to be uncomfortable.

There are two branches in the streets away from the Landing Bay. On the left is a large building, to the right is what appears to be barracks as there are Imperial troops milling about and a row of small buildings leading away. Directly ahead is what appears to be some sort of business. The streets are somewhat bare of people but a few hardy souls still brave the uncomfortable weather.

“Gladiator pits?”, he says to himself, then to his companion, "I was only to fight one or two fights to pay for my voyage….Was he trying to free me from one master only to become a slave for another?" As he heads towards the exit he asks the human in a bunch of growls, “What’s your name, human?”

As he steps through the exit he is greeted by a faceful of dirt and sand. “What in seven hells? ”he asks as he coughs and sputters the dirt from his mouth. The sky is dark and unwelcoming; the sand and dirt storm limiting his vision and causing him to put a hand in front of his face as he looked around at his surroundings. Seeing the Storm Troopers to his right, a store in front of him and a large building to his left, Kitazza decides a merchant may be best to speak with and have knowledge of the area.

Kitazza moves towards the store.

Kitazza had unexpectedly been ushered off the freighter flown by the large Chevin , Madon Ani. Madon had apparently had some unforseen trouble with the local authorities and for some reason dumped his "cargo", the four alien fighters destined for the gladiator pits of Mos Eisley. Fortunately avoiding any trouble with the local Storm Trooper contingent, the wookie went about trying to find out just where he actually was.
"I was only to fight one or two fights to pay for my voyage….Was he trying to free me from one master only to become a slave for another?" As he heads towards the exit he asks the human in a bunch of growls, “What’s your name, human?”
"People don't get out of the gladiator pits so easily sometimes, 'cept if you die, I 'spose," the human answered. "Unless you live but the crowd doesn't get behind you. The big winners stay a long time, I am told. Of course, sometimes the pits are better than being chased by a Hutts goons, no? My name? I'm Pash. I'm the best pilot for Sinasu the Hutt. Or, rather, I was anyway."
As he steps through the exit he is greeted by a faceful of dirt and sand. “What in seven hells? ”he asks as he coughs and sputters the dirt from his mouth.
Pash laughs and slaps the taller wookie on the back. "Ha, ha, welcome to Tatooine!"

Kitazza looks around and decides to head for the business directly across from the landing bay. The wind whips his fur about, but it is only a short distance to reach. The squat building is small and dingy and not exactly what Kitazza was expecting. Rather than a shop or store, it turns out he has entered the spaceport customs office. The door opens on a small waiting room and a bored Imperial customs agent sits at the counter. He looks up at you and back at the vid screen without saying anything. Kitazza sees that Pash has followed him at least this far, possibly to simply get out of the dust storm.

"Are you needing to pick something up here? " Pash asks the wookie.

“Kitazza,” the wookie growls in reply.

Within a few moments Kitazza hears Pash laugh then slaps him on the back. Kitazza stops and slowly looks back, his eyes narrowing, whether against the sand or of their own accord. “Do not touch me,” his translator groans and squeaks.

“I’m not sure yet,”his translator squeaks out once more as he takes in the Imperial behind the desk. Placing his bowcaster on the counter, Kitazza looks at the Imperial. “Where are we? Any bounties that need claiming?" As he waits for an answer, his claws pop out and he idly taps them on the counter. Looking back at Pash, “If we are to get off this wasteland of a planet we are going to need credits. Might as well see if there is easy work to be had.”

Curious he looks at Pash, "What did you do to this Hutt to make you lose favor?""

Within a few moments Kitazza hears Pash laugh then slaps him on the back. Kitazza stops and slowly looks back, his eyes narrowing, whether against the sand or of their own accord. “Do not touch me,” his translator groans and squeaks.
"Take it easy, big fella," Pash says, but moves a step away and holds his hands up in front of him for a moment. He laughs again and follows the Wookie into the Customs office.
"Are you needing to pick something up here? " Pash asks the wookie.

“I’m not sure yet,”his translator squeaks out once more as he takes in the Imperial behind the desk.
Pash looks on quizzically at the answer. But says nothing more, preferring to watch what unfolds.
“Where are we? Any bounties that need claiming?" As he waits for an answer, his claws pop out and he idly taps them on the counter. Looking back at Pash, “If we are to get off this wasteland of a planet we are going to need credits. Might as well see if there is easy work to be had.”
The Imperial at the desk looks up at the voice, then over to Pash somewhat confusedly. His face forms a grimace as he looks back at the tall, furry wookie. "Why would you be looking for bounties in a customs office?" he questions Pash, clearly thinking that it was the human who spoke. The agent looks back as the Wookie starts to drum its nails on the counter. "Can you please control your... pet? Besides, unless you are claiming a shipment, there's nothing here for you," he says with a slight sneer.
Looking back at Pash, “If we are to get off this wasteland of a planet we are going to need credits. Might as well see if there is easy work to be had.”
The Imperial agent looks over with a start to hear the metallic voice come through the Wookie's translator apparatus.

"You might not want to anger my friend here, Mr. Big Shot Customs Agent," Pash says through a wide toothy grin. "I'm not sure I could keep him from pulling your arms out of their sockets. It's a common problem with Wookies, you know." Before the agent can respond, Pash taps Kitazza on the shoulder and heads for the door. "Come on, big fella, let's find you some work." Pash heads back out into the street and the sandstorm has subsided somewhat.
"What did you do to this Hutt to make you lose favor?""
Pash laughs at the Wookie's question. "It doesn't take much to lose favor with a Hutt," the man says with a mirthless grin. "Even the best pilots get boarded sometimes. Sometimes we have to ditch our loads, if you know what I mean. Hutts don't always deal in just stims and bantha burgers, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN..." he says, stressing the last part and winking at the Wookie. "Those giant slugs are a menace." Pash moves to a nearby computer console built into the customs building. He enters a few keystrokes and then points to a position on the map that appeared. "I think this is where you might want to go." He looks warily at the Wookie again. "Bounties, huh?"

“Pet? I’m no one’s pet,” he says as he casually reaches for his bowcaster, his eyes never leaving the imperial turdlit. As Pash calls him away he says back to the imperial turdlit, “Call me a pet again, it will be the last thing you say before I send you screamining from this world.” Placing his bowcaster over his shoulder, he continues, “Imperials… they smell worse than the underside of a Hutt,” leaving the insult as he follows Pash from the customs building.

Be an enforcer? Sing in a cantina?” He chuckles at his own joke. “Besides we cannot all be pilots and smugglers,” he says with a wink and toothy grin.

“Why, you have one?" he asks in a growl, though he chuckles throatily. “I won’t come after you, Pash. You’re the first human not to annoy me," he says looking over the pilot's shoulder. “That and you seem on the level.”

"What will you do? We could partner up." He looks down at the human. "Split the rewards."

After the encounter at the Imperial Customs Office, Kitazza and Pash head to a computer terminal and Pash brings up a more likely location for Kitazza to find out about any bounties here in Mos Shuuta or possibly other surrounding areas. The Bounty Office is down the road to the right, past the Imperial Stormtrooper barracks and the palace of Teemo the Hutt.
Pash moves to a nearby computer console built into the customs building. He enters a few keystrokes and then points to a position on the map that appeared. "I think this is where you might want to go." He looks warily at the Wookie again. "Bounties, huh?"

“I know what you mean,” he says with a slight smirk as his voice module crackles and screams in protest. “It will pay the bills.” His translator groans and squeeks, “What else can I do for credits? Be an enforcer? Sing in a cantina?” He chuckles at his own joke. “Besides we cannot all be pilots and smugglers,” he says with a wink and toothy grin.

“Why, you have one?" he asks in a growl, though he chuckles throatily. “I won’t come after you, Pash. You’re the first human not to annoy me," he says looking over the pilot's shoulder. “That and you seem on the level.”
Pash laughs at Kitazza's joke. "I'd like to see that," Pash chuckles. "I can find the cantina on the map, if you'd prefer."

"Me? Have a bounty on my head?" he asks incredulously. Then he breaks into a grin. "Yeah, I probably do back in Hutt Space. And Coruscant. And Ord Mantell. And... yeah I guess I do." Pash laughs again.
"What will you do? We could partner up." He looks down at the human. "Split the rewards."
"Hey sounds good, big guy," Pash says and slaps Kitazza on the shoulder again. "We'll be unstoppable! Let's go make some money."

Pash leads the way down the right-most street, further away from the Landing Pad. The pair pass the Imperial Stormtrooper Barracks and the troops outside barely pay attention to them. Towering above the barracks, and all of the rest of the city, on a higher mesa, is Teemo's palace. It is a breathtaking structure rising high above the surrounding buildings. On the ramp leading up to the entrance are 4 Gamorean guards. The pig-snouted humanoids provided security for the crime-lord and defacto ruler of Mos Shuuta. Somewhat up the path can be seen wanted posters leading up to Teemo's front gate.

After a short trek, Kitazza and Pash arrive at the Imperial Bounty Office. It is a smallish structure very near to the main Electro-gate leading to the main ramp away from the mesa to the desert floor below. By now the wind has subsided somewhat, but the dust particles still hang in the air gives a reddish haze to the city. It is uncomfortable to breath but not stifling. Pash leads the way in and they see a panel of information screens, as well as a pair of security screens monitored by a twi'lek and a human.

I wouldn’t," his translating states soon after his growling. “ Probably pay me to go away.”

The big wookie shakes his head and gives a throaty laugh. “We all have our pasts,” he growls out as his translator creeks and groans.
"Hey sounds good, big guy," Pash says and slaps Kitazza on the shoulder again. "We'll be unstoppable! Let's go make some money."
“Sounds good.” Though if he keeps hitting me it might not be so good, he thinks to himself.
As we walk to the bounty hunters office, seeing Teemo’s palace he can’t help but gawk at its immense size and how it dominates the landscape. He’s a little surprised the Imperials didn’t try to take it over…

Kitazza takes in his surroundings while trying to keep the sand out of his eyes. “Is there anywhere this sand doesn’t collect…?” They pass Wanted posters which Kitazza will scan while walking past and try to commit the picture to memory.

Upon entering the bounty office, Kitazza looks about, seeing computer monitors and two individuals reviewing a screen. He looks at the other hunters wearily, taking in clothing and weapons; giving them a nod in hello.

Walking over to a free screen Kitazza looks to see what is available.

"Hey, pay is pay, right," Pash chuckles. "Besides I bet there are some ways to market it as ancient Wookie tribal songs or something. Some people might pay big credits. You'd be a star all over the galaxy." Pash laughs a bit more indicating he's not really serious.
Kitazza takes in his surroundings while trying to keep the sand out of his eyes. “Is there anywhere this sand doesn’t collect…?” They pass Wanted posters which Kitazza will scan while walking past and try to commit the picture to memory.
Most of the posters are too far away as you pass the palace to see clearly without walking up directly to them and closer to the Hutt's headquarters. You are able to notice particularly another Hutt on one of the posters, as well as a Trandoshan.

The twi'lek and the human here are behind security panels and appear to be the individuals who update the information in the data terminals. Other humanoids here are a group of Gand, an insectoid sentient species wearing what appear to be respirators. They are all wearing heavy clothing and are heavily armed with blaster carbines. One Gand is operating the terminal while the rest look on. Near the entrance is a human male in padded armor. He has a visored helmet under his arm and a blaster carbine slung over one shoulder. He seems to be watching the rest of the individuals here and gives Kitazza and Pash a long emotionless look as they enter.

Nearby another human operates a terminal, who returns the wookie's nod, while the last current occupants are a pair of green-skinned Rodians. They both stare at the tall wookie and speak quickly in their language between themselves before turning back to the terminal.

Kitazza steps up to one of the terminals and begins to access it. The screen flickers a few times, but doesn't seem to respond. Kitazza smashes his furry fist into the terminal platform and the screen suddenly jumps into view, a long series of delineated graphical groups: listings by area of the galaxy. Kitazza chooses the Outer Rim section of the info-graphic and the screen shifts and expands that area, breaking the Outer Rim into 5 distinct quadrants.

Pash steps up alongside the Wookie. "Since we don't have a ship, and I don't know about you specifically, and not a lot of credits to throw around, I suggest we look for opportunities nearby." Pash touches the screen a few more times and the terminal view shifts to show Tatooine specifically. The listings for known criminals in the immediate area are somewhat limited as this part of Tatooine has only two cities of any note: Mos Shuuta, where they currently were and Mos Zabu about 100 kilometers away.

The locally generated listings are as follows:

Keer Maverick - former pilot to Teemo the Hutt, potentially off-world currently (1500cr.)
Bevel Ryscandor - smuggler / criminal // destruction of Imperial property (500cr.)
Zhane Sallin - leader of the swoop gang known as the Krayt Flyers // death of Imperial officer (1500cr.)
sub-listing of 250cr for any members of the Krayt Flyer gang
Ariel Noza - pirate, commander of the ship Helldiver //wanted for connection to the Rebel Alliance (2000cr.)
Sirren Ta'eta - doctor //Hutt imposed bounty (1000cr.)

Now what?

“No ship… though this one looks promising,” he says in a soft growl, his translator following suit. “If they have a ship, not only can we claim the bounty as our own.“ He will click on the Bevel Ryscandor bounty hoping that there is more information. "What do you think?"

Bounty, the quicker picker upper -
Kitazza hears the Rodians speaking quickly; he listens intently to see if he can pick up what they are saying.
The Rodians, unaware that the wookie might know their language, or in this case have a translator, say that they need to be careful of the beast (Kitazza) and also to look up whether there is a bounty anywhere on him.
“No ship… though this one looks promising,” he says in a soft growl, his translator following suit. “If they have a ship, not only can we claim the bounty as our own.“ He will click on the Bevel Ryscandor bounty hoping that there is more information. "What do you think?"
Pash moves over to take a look at the listing as Kitazza brings up more information about the target, one Bevel Ryscandor."Getting a ship is not a bad idea." The details on the bounty come forward on the screen. Ryscandor is wanted for running an Imperial blockade here at Mos Shuuta in Landing Bay Aurek. He was transporting a wanted criminal, Aralah Dain, as well as carrying illegal cargo, breaking several customs regulations and assorted general mischief. Ryscandor's ship is a YT-2400, named the Siren Song.

Kit curses under his breath in a throaty growl. His translator remaining silent, as it doesn’t translate. He rests a hand casually by his bowcaster in reach if needed. 'Best not draw attention to himself', he thinks to himself. 'No telling who is watching,' as he brings his paw back up to the console and quickly brings up the Bounty's info.

“Let’s get the info on him and go,” he growls quietly. Typing in the search, “Rodian checking on us." Honor amongst Bounty hunters is not something he would know about and doubt the Rodians will play nice once they find something on him.’Damn Hutts', he thinks to himself.

Turning to leave, Kit says to Pash, “Let’s see if he can smuggle us off this rock.”

Kitazza quietly informs Pash that the Rodians may be trouble. The man looks quickly in the green aliens direction then back to the Wookie. Pash gives Kit a subtle nod, indicating he understands.
Turning to leave, Kit says to Pash, “Let’s see if he can smuggle us off this rock.”
The armored man near the door nods sightly in their direction as the pair go to leave. Pash waits until they are outside before he speaks again. "The thug at the door was wearing an insignia that matched the one I saw on the Hutt's palace we just passed. Must be one of it's enforcers."

Pash follows the Wookie a few steps, then asks, "Where are we going to find this guy? In fact, he may be off-planet. I suppose if not, the cantina might be the best place to get some info. Either that or some shopkeep here that the guy smuggles for. What do you think?"

Before Kit has a chance to answer, Pash gets Kit's attention and directs it back to the Bounty Hunter Office. Kitazza turns to look and sees the Rodians have stepped out into the street as well. The Rodians seem to be just milling about at the entrance for now.

Kitazza returns the goodbye with a slight nod. 'Good to know', thinks Kit, “Probably looking for trouble,” he replies evenly as they step further from the bounty office.

Kitazza is about to answer but then Pash gets his attention. “Is it possible they know of your bounty?" he asks curiously as he watches the Rodians merely milling in front of office. He gives both Bounty hunters a glance looking at their equipment. From what he can tell they have blasters. Looking at Pash, "Come on. Let’s see if these Rodians know of this Bevel Ryscandor.” Either bravely or foolishly, Kitazza starts walking towards the Rodians. Looking back at Pash once within earshot of the Rodians, he will ask them, “Have you heard of Bevel Ryscandor?” his translator switching to Rodian after the growls and snarls. He will watch them for any sign of surprise and watch their reaction. If they go for their weapons he will do the same with his bowcaster and return fire.

Pash just shrugs at Kit's question, as the pair of Rodians loiter outside the Imperial Bounty Office.

As the Wookie heads back toward the Rodians, one elbows the other to get its attention. They both turn to face Kitazza. Pash follows along a short distance behind, his hand slowly and carefully going to his blaster pistol.

The Rodians look at each other, obviously surprised at the Wookie's ability to communicate in their own language. One of them finally speaks in Rodian, "Why do you ask, Wookie? Is he a friend of yours?"

Pash clears his throat loudly and Kit turns back to look. The smuggler nods to both the right and left. Looking around, Kitazza can see 4 more Rodians closing in, 3 from one side and one from behind them.

Now what?

“No, he is not a friend. He was referred by an acquaintance, that he could get us to Mos Eisley for a price. You see me and my friend are fighting in the Gladiator pits for Teemo the Hutt. And he is due to make a large sum of credits if we win. I still cannot believe he bet 5,000 credits on me and my friend here. ” Surprisingly his translator didn’t squeak or crackle at all.

Turning to see Pash nodding in different directions, Kitazza looks to see other Rodians coming forward. Stupid, Kit kicks himself mentally. Thinking quickly on his feet, “Forget I asked, I’ll check the Cantina,” he says, turning toward the Rodian coming up from behind him. “Let’s go," he says, looking toward Pash.

Kitazza will make his way away from the Rodians.

Kitazza and Pash have an encounter with the Rodians that seem to have followed them outside.

One Rodian whispers to the other, now aware that the Wookie can understand their native language. The other Rodian points first at Kitazza, then at Pash, then back to the Wookie and whispers back. Finally the Rodian speaks again, "It appears your.... 'acquaintance'... has a minor bounty on his head. We thought he was offworld, but if you tell us where he is, we will take the bounty and give you a ride for free to Mos Eisley."

"We'll check the cantina with you," the Rodian says. "We insist." Kitazza notices that several of the Rodians have their weapons out.

Kitazza gazes at the drawn weapons, “I don’t have a fight with you,“ his translator squealing and crackling.

The Moment Gets Tense... -
Kitazza gazes at the drawn weapons, “I don’t have a fight with you,“ his translator squealing and crackling.
All of the Rodians have weapons on them, but the one speaking does not have its drawn yet. The others who recently arrived continue to close in, as the moment gets tense. Kitazza fingers the grip of his bowcaster and Pash unsnaps the strap on the holster of one blaster pistol. He moves closer to the Wookie.

"Then just do as we say, and no one gets hurt!" the Rodian chuckles.

Before Kitazza or Pash can respond there is another voice ringing out from the steps to the Bounty Hunter Office. "Are you causing trouble, Dreeklu?" Everyone turns to see that the armored man that was inside the office has stepped out into the Mos Shuuta sun. He is wearing his helmet and has a blaster rifle in his hand, but not pointing at anyone. "You're lucky you weren't born an Aqualish or we wouldn't even be having this conversation now."

The Rodians unconsciously take a step back from the man. The one who was speaking before, responds "This is not any of your concern, Veris."

"Oh but it is," the man he called Veris counters. "These two work for Teemo. You rough them up and Teemo gets mad. Teemo gets mad and I get mad and then....bang"

"You don't frighten us," the Rodian was defiant. "It's 5 against 3."

A moment later, a shot rang out from the armored man's rifle. One of the far Rodians dropped, the blaster shot catching him full in the face. "You can't count, Dreek. I only see four of you."

The other Rodians started talking hurriedly amongst themselves and began to move away from this threat. Dreeklu, their leader, waved them all away and then turned to offer one last threat. "This is not over, Veris. Watch your back."

As the Rodians begin to walk away, Dreeklu jumps when another blaster shot hits the ground nearby, barely missing him. "Don't you dare to threaten me, you green-skinned, slimy, little creep. I'll enter a bounty on your head and kill you myself." The armored man stepped into the street and raised his blaster rifle once more, causing the Rodians to all break into a run.

After a moment, the man turned to Kitazza and Pash. "So you two are Teemo's new pit fighters?" He looks the two of you up and down a moment, but with his visored helmet, you cannot tell his conclusion. "I thought there were supposed to be three of you. No matter," he says as he slings the rifle over his shoulder once more. "I work for Teemo as well." He cocks his head to the side. "You should have waited at the landing bay for your ride. The palace is right over there, though," he says pointing to the towering structure. "I'll take you there now."

Pash doesn't say anything yet, looking to see how Kitazza wants to play this new development.

Now what?

Kitazza remains quiet for the moment letting the new arrival deal with the Rodians. It seems they know each other and from what the Wookie can tell, he is to be feared, at least to them.

Kitazza looks to see who was hit and sees a Rodian in the distance drop, his face no longer where it was supposed to be. Kitazza looks at the newcomer enforcer with respect, the man was a great shot. A fact he would not soon forget. Another shot is fired near the lead Rodian and they take off as the man threatens to put a bounty on him and kill him himself. This is definitely not a man to be trifled with, the Wookie thinks to himself.
After a moment, the man turned to Kitazza and Pash. "So you two are Teemo's new pit fighters?" “I appreciate that,” the Wookie growls, as the translator soon after translates in Basic. “Perhaps we can buy you a drink for your help?” he says evenly as his translator soon squeaks and crackles in Basic. As they begin to walk off the Wookie looks at Pash then the Enforcer next to him,"Truth be told we were dropped off by a different backer whom left us high and dry with Imperials all around. We would like to pay our respect to the Great Teemo and offer our services to him as bounty hunters and possibly smugglers. Is there a way I can repay you for dealing with the Rodians?"

"'Where did you learn to shoot like that?" he asks curiously."You shoot better than most in my former master's ranks."

With the Rodians driven off for now, Kitazza approaches the armored enforcer of Teemo the Hutt.
“I appreciate that,” the Wookie growls, as the translator soon after translates in Basic. The man takes a long look at the Wookie, apparently admiring the translator rig. "That's an interesting solution to your obvious vocal limitation. Not many people understand your language." He nods in Pash's direction, as Pash steps up as well.

"I should pay you for a chance to deal with those annoying druks," he says with a smirk. "The name is Veris, Garin Veris."

After Kitazza tells Veris that they aren't actually Teemo's pit fighters, Veris stops. "So you were bluffing?" He pauses for a long moment, then let's out a single chuckle. "Not bad. So you don't work for Teemo, but you want to? I hope you realize that there is no probationary period. If you can't cut it, you end up dead." He lets that sink in for a moment, although both Kitazza and Pash have worked for Hutts previously.

"I'll get you the intro, the rest is up to you guys. Do you have a ship?"

"'Where did you learn to shoot like that?" he asks curiously."You shoot better than most in my former master's ranks."
"It's just a knack, I suppose," Veris says, looking at his blaster rifle. "And head shots are a lot more effective, in the end. Got my practice on Aqualish. Of course their teeth are better targets than most."

Veris will escort Pash and Kitazza into the palace.

The man takes a long look at the Wookie, apparently admiring the translator rig. "That's an interesting solution to your obvious vocal limitation. Not many people understand your language." He nods in Pash's direction, as Pash steps up as well.
“It comes in handy. And people do underestimate my comprehension to their dismay. I fixed it up the best I could, still haven’t gotten all the bugs out.”
"I should pay you for a chance to deal with those annoying druks," he says with a smirk. "The name is Veris, Garin Veris."
He chuckles at the human's joke, "If that were the case we'd all be rich as the Hutts." He then replies, “Kitazza, Swift Ghost in your tongue," he says, his translator squeaking as he growls.
After Kitazza tells Veris that they aren't actually Teemo's pit fighters, Veris stops. "So you were bluffing?" He pauses for a long moment, then let's out a single chuckle. "Not bad. He lets that sink in for a moment, although both Kitazza and Pash have worked for Hutts previously.
“Sometimes it is better to outwit than fight, though if you didn’t intervene, I would have taken one or two with me.” He looks over at Pash, “I won't be so bold again, my friend,” he says evenly from the translator, his growls coming moments before. “It’s a possibility, I have worked for a Hutt before as an enforcer, I know what they are like ,better than most. “ Looking at Pash, he is curious what the smuggler thinks.
"I'll get you the intro, the rest is up to you guys. Do you have a ship?"
"We were hoping to catch our first mark and take his ship.”
