The game is set just a little after the battle for Yavin. Many worlds are not aware of what happened to Alderaan. The Battle for Yavin is mostly rumor and hype in some places although word travels fast, the details warp and twist with each retelling. The Galaxy does know about the Death Star weapon to some degree because Naboo was the first target even before the events in episode IV.
Episodes IV - VI are taken nearly as appeared in the movies. The prequels should not be assumed as presented.
Naboo was partially destroyed by the Imperials. The seas were boiled and there are few if any Gungans remaining.
Midi-chlorians do not exist. The Force is a metaphysical power, an energy field that surrounds and binds all living things.
The game will continue in the world that was started in the Vegas RPG.
