New Frontiers #112

Sherra About Town:

Sherra is up early the next morning and off to town on personal business. She makes her way to Crosstown first as it is the part of town she comes to first. Everham’s Forge is easy enough to find. It’s among the first row of buildings just off the High Road when you first get into town.

Everham owns a series of buildings there. One functions as his forge, another for storage, and yet another for his home. Everham is found inside his forge this morning.

The man’s appearance is a bit of a surprise. He has the look of a scholar about him rather than that of a maker of armor. He has sandy colored hair and hazel eyes. Everham is clean-shaven and when he speaks you realize that there is an intelligent man before you.

“Fabricating dragon armor you say?” Everham says thoughtfully. “I’ve done it before. A particularly large barbarian by the name of Thorvid had me craft some leather armor out of the hide of a black dragon he slew. It’s expensive and depends on what kind of armor you’re looking for. I’d say that my minimum price would be 5000 gold to start with. Possibly more, depending on what you’re look to have made.”

Everham only makes armor, not weapons. If pressed about making weapons, he’ll recommend Klenstad’s Smithy as someone who regularly forges weapons.

Rislena’s Fine Leathers is a bit harder to find for a newcomer. It’s a few blocks north and west from Everham’s shop in the middle of Crosstown. The shop shows signs of recent improvements. The siding on the wooden house looks new, as does the front door. The interior smells of leather and oil.

The sound of the door opening brings Rislena out from the back. She’s a very attractive red haired woman who is tall and thin. (Taller than Sherra.) Rislena is wearing her own creations, including tight leather pants, a leather corset over her blouse, and leather boots. Rislena seems very happy this morning.

“Welcome to Rislena’s Fine Leathers,” She’ll say. “What can I do for you this fine day?”

After hearing Sherra’s request, Rislena will say, “I can make just about anything out of leather that you’d want. What I do is take exact measurements for whatever garments you’re looking to have made. I then make the garment using forms adjusted to those measurements, so you’ll get a nice, tight, custom fit.”

“I have worked with black dragon’s hide before,” Rislena continues. “I made some leather garments for a barbarian named Thorvid and his sorceress lover Argent. She had the most wonderful black leather boots, as I recall. Anyway, I made them some clothing a few weeks back out of black dragon leather.”

“I can do the work, but you’ll need to have the hide tanned first. You’ll need to take the hide to the tanners first before I can work on it.”

The time chatting with Rislena is pleasant. Her costs are typically three to four times more for custom creations then off the rack garments. The tanners have a guild and it’s located in the Southern Slum on the aptly named street of Tannery Row.

However, the encounter with Sectarian is just about the opposite. Sherra gets directions to his shop over in New Town. His shop is in a two story timbered building in New Town. Inside you can see many samples his fine works. He can work leathers into amazing patterns and some of his products could be considered works of art. You see samples of practical boots in the front of the shop to very impractical ones with unwieldy high heels.

“What do you want?” Sectarian snaps when seeing Sherra.

Much like Rislena, Sectarian needs tanned leather to make his creations first. He can make just about any kind of boot you can imagine, and probably a few Sherra hasn’t. He too uses wooden forms to make his boots based on exact measurements. He can also work metal reinforcements into his boots, along with secret hiding places. Special work by him starts at a minimum of five times the cost of a basic item.

A typical adventurer leather boot runs about 2-3 gold, so his work would start in the 10-15 gold range. The man is crude, but his craftsmanship is probably the only thing that keeps him in business.

To Find A King:

While hearing the report from the local High Priests about what was found underneath Castle Elcadan, the proceedings were interrupted by Lady Teris Penhaligon. She informs everyone present that Duke Kelvin has made a bid for power and has been named King, seemingly with the support of the previous and very befuddled former King. Duke Kelvin is gathering his forces in the Inner Kingdom and soon his armies will come forth to restore order in the Outer Kingdom. All those people associated with the real King, Victor the 8th, have been condemned as outlaws. Sir Acerion reveals that he learned that those loyal to the King among the Order of the Griffon have been imprisoned in their order hall in Alexandria.

Talk then turns on the location of the real King of Cynalon, Victor the 8th. The last anyone knew, he was bound for Athenos to inform Duke Linton that he had gained new territories in the aftermath of the change from the Duchy of Elcadan to the Ducky of Streel. Afterwards, he was supposed to travel up river to Elcadan, but has yet to arrive.
Jallarzi wrote:“I can attempt to scry for him with a Crystal Ball. If I can locate him, then I can teleport to that location and bring him and Dame Sharl here.”
“Do so immediately, Jallarzi,” Duke Relon states. “We need to know what has befallen the King.”
Jallarzi wrote:“As Lord Chareos stated, we need a safe haven for the King. The Salavarian Estate is magically protected, but will not stand against an army. Castle Elcadan is the next logical choice as it is defensible. The Fellowship of Mages built the castle, wizards from Alphatia. They must have included magical protections into the castle, perhaps even its own Spell Engine. If we can activate these protections, then the castle will be the best defendable place in Elcadan. A closer inspection of the castle is required.”
“I concur,” Duke Relon says. “I want to have it perfectly save before even considering moving in. I am uncomfortable with the idea of having Alexander Deville imprisoned there, but would be even more concerned with having him loose.”

Turning to Baron Validar, Duke Relon says, “Since the Guardians might be needed on a moment’s notice you are correct in sending the Seekers to carry out the task at Castle Elcadan. Make sure that it is safe and see if the Lady Sallavarian is correct in assuming that magical protections can be invoked there.”

Jallarzi excuses herself from the makeshift audience hall and makes her way to the room where her Crystal Ball is located. Those who wish to follow may do so.

The first thing Jallarzi does is to try and locate Victor the 8th. The attempt fails, as does the attempt to reach scry Dame Harlena.

“This isn’t necessarily grim news,” Jallarzi notes. “If they are both inside the Stone House, then they are safe from being scryed like this. Otherwise, an enemy could attempt to do what we’re trying to do. I’ll try to scry for the Stone House itself.”

Jallarzi makes the attempt and an image forms inside the Crystal Ball. The scene you are observing is seen from above and off to the side. You see several guards dressed in the uniform of the Athenos Military seemingly on a dock as water can be seen. Two of these guards are carrying a large chest. The chest is large enough for the Stone House to fit inside.

The guards then take the chest, swing it back and forth a few times and then hurtle it into the water. The view remains centered on the chest and goes into the water after the chest as it sinks into the dark depths...

Now what?

Baron Validar -

Validar has been spending time with the Duke watching the goings on and assisting the Duke in the preliminary establishment of the new Duchy. They have learned about several of the Council being killed and devils were found there, not the expected demons. Pehaps there is more to the enemies gathered against them. Hextor was thought to be destroyed as a major enemy, but they may still have pockets of forces here in the West. Duke Relon is putting together a new council. The group has many tasks and some stay in town and some return to the Sallavarian Estate. Validar will be staying at his cousin's home until the Duke is ready to move into the castle.

Sir Acerion and Sir Corley have led an attack on the Duke's Castle and the troops holed up in there. Fortunately, the Duke is not asaulted, but Validar is ready at all times, should danger present itself. The Blackhawk allows the assault to be much easier and Validar eagerly awaits news of the conflict.

Baron Validar -

Sir Corley makes his report and it seems that all has gone well, other then the information about another dragon being present and the mysteriousness surrounding the imprisonment of something beneath the castle. There was some talk about what to do with the being and the dangers that he presents.

"If whatever is there, ha been there for some time, one more night should not make an difference. Until we know more, there is really nothing we can speculate upon."

Corley also mentions wanting to go after the necromancer in Akkoros who seems to be responsible for the Ember eggs.

"Well done, Sir Corley," Duke Relon states. "My compliments to you and your companions on the handling of this task. While I agree that destroying the lair of this vile necromancer is important, I would hold of on that task for at least a day or two. I fear that the enemy may be waiting for you and your associates to go off on a mission before launching their next attack. I am also interested in hearing what the High Priests learn before deciding a definitive course of action. Now that you have dealt with the major threats at Castle Elcadan, it will have to be explored and cleansed of any minor threats before I will move my family into it."

"I agree that this is an important target. However, as the Duke stated, we need to explore and make safe the rest of the Castle firstly. I will have the Seekers attend to that task as soon as possible."

"Now go rest, Sir Corley. I am sure that there will be new troubles for you to contend with come the morning."

"So far we have done well. However, I have a sense of foreboding that I have not felt the likes of before. Hopefully it is nothing."

The group found a hidden treasure room it seems as well. "Duke Relon, do you know whether this is the cache of the Duchy or if this is simply ill-gotten gains horded here by the impersonators who ruled here? In any case, not knowing what is there notwithstanding, it should help immeasureably in the re-vitalization of this land."

"I look forward to the morning and the information from the High Priests. Until then, good evening, Your Grace."

Validar will depart and rest and be up early in the morning. His night is not peaceful at all.

Baron Validar of Pyris -

Validar is up early as per his regular routine. He meets briefy with Lady Gabriella and shares a quick morning meal.

Before long, the High Priests of Heironeous, Mystra and Helm arrive at the Sallavarian Estate and explain their findings. The being that is imprisoned in Castle Elcadan is Alexander Deville, a tiefing, and therefore the offspring of an under plane creature and a human. Still, he is killable, unlike a true demon.

"Our enemy knew of the danger and they had Alexander locked away for their protection. Alexander burns with vengeance and if released he would attack his own family to gain their powers and to end their lives. Alexander would continue to become more and more powerful in the process, but in spite of all this he would remain a mortal and thus could be slain. If released, he would wage war against the Deville's and woe to any innocents who get in his way."

"The question then becomes is it worth releasing Alexander so that he can wreck havoc against the Deville family? Or would we just be trading one menace for another? The only thing in our favor is that, for a time, they would be too busy fighting each other to worry about us and that Alexander could be permanently killed."

"An interesting bit of information, High Priest. It is my feeling that we cannot risk such a danger being imprisoned here long term. Therefore the true question boils down to which action we should take, for taking no action surely will come back to haunt Elcadan some day. If Alexander can be killed, no matter how strong, then he is a potential tool to use for our needs and to end the threat of our foes."

"If that is the route to take, then we need to not only be prepared to channel or direct Alexander in some manner so that innocents are not hurt, as well as be ready to strike down as many of the Devilles as we can before Alexander gets to them and be prepared to kill him in the most efficient manner possible. I am not in favor of setting him loose, letting them fight it out and deal with the repurcusions. We need to have a more direct plan of attack."

"The other result would be to destroy him completely, preferably without freeing him and allow us to deal with the rest of the Devilles in our own way. I am of the personal opinion that..."

Before anything else can be said there is a minor commotion at the chamber entrance. There, a familiar woman can be seen. It is the Lady Teris Penhaligon, although her appearance is unkempt and she seems very weary.

"Your Grace, fellow Lords, I bring dire news!" Teris pants. "The worst has come to pass! Forgive my appearance, but I have rode for days now to reach and warn you."

"Sir Alon's fears have been realized. Duke Kelvin has usurped the throne, apparently with the blessing of our former king, Victor the Seventh. Those of us who follow Victor the Eight have been declared outlaws and there is a bounty on our heads. I only narrowly escaped so that I could warn our allies of this danger. Even as we speak, the armies of the Inner Kingdom are gathering. They will come to try and 'restore order' to the Outer Kingdom. My friends, we are at war."

The baron's eyes narrow at this announcement and his brow furrows in concern. His mind races both tactically and stratgically as this dire news is digested.

Validar will have some attendants see to Lady Teris. "You have done well, milady. Now rest and eat, we will need your strength in the coming days it seems."

Lady Teris thanks Validar and moves close enough to whisper to him. She places a sealed letter into his hand. "From the regent of Pyris", she indicates. Validar thanks her with a nod and a brief smile. He opens and reads the note and frowns even more. Gabriella looks on, worry etched on her beautiful features. Validar looks once towards Sir Corley, then to Lady Gabriella again.

"It appears that the Lady Vera Ardel has been taken from Castle Pyris. There was an emmisary from Corunglain that sought an audience with her and my grandmother ordered him to depart as he was too forceful and insistent in his demands. Soon after it was determined that she was missing."

Validar thinks on it for a moment. Those in Corunglain were always pushing Vera to marry one of the sons. Then something else hits him. "I have a feeling that our 'allies' in Cournglain may not be joining our side in the coming war, I am afraid. This likely kidnapping of Lady Ardel is an affront that cannot be accepted. Further I received word yesterday that oddly there have not been shipments from the north to here for some time now. At least two are over due. Looking at these events together and some other things that did not strike me until now, leads me to believe that the son of Duke Corunglain is a traitor. He was far too disappointed when his family was rescued and returned to Corunglain for it to simply be the loss of temporary trappings of rule. Vera herself indicated that the young Corun was rather 'creepy' towards her."

"That also further explains how the humanoid horde was so easily able to access and infiltrate the Castle there. It is my conjecture that Corunglain was betrayed by their own son, who sought to have his father and older brother removed so that the throne would be his. Who else might be involved in such a hideous plot is unknown, but already it seems we loose a potential ally. This is disturbing news and may also indicate another humanoid strike could result."

“It seems that our priorities have changed once more,” Sir Corley will state. “Elcadan and the other outer kingdom provinces must be made ready for war. Armies must be formed and fortifications built. The king must be located and our other allies gathered together. Was not he and Lady Harlena bound for Athenos the last I heard?”

“That is just the tip of the sword, Sir Corley.” Walking forward, “The outer kingdoms are faced with a battle not on one front but two. The humanoids will surely hear of this and seek to exploit our weakness. Civil War? In all my days I would not wish this,” he says in shock, though quickly subdues his feelings. “Who should go to find the King? And where to take him once he is safe?”

"You are correct Chareos. Once the humanoids learn of the situation here, they will attack, even with the severe blow we have dealt them. They are opportunistic and it is only logical to strike a foe when they are weak. The more troubling news is that they may already be invading or about to," Validar says, not happy at the prospect.

"As for the second part, hopefully finding the King will prove to be simple enough and once he is safe I assume that King Victor's place will be at the forefront of battle. We follow a young and vibrant leader who is quite skilled at arms," Validar says proudly.

"Last night during my meditations I was informed of just such an occurrance about to happen," Acerion reveals. "I have learned that the Order of the Griffon has been imprisoned in their own house. We must look to this as a situation needing remedy very shortly. We will need those valiant men with us during this time."

"I concur, Sir Acerion. I am not surprised that the Order House would be the first place to fall. If they seek to defeat or imprison all who follow the true King, they are the closest and also a major threat. A rescue mission will need to be done quickly, as it will take some time for the armies to travel to our lands, but I am certain they are being mobilized even now. They would not have struck such otherwise. Those of our Order will be very valuable allies to our cause, if we are to prevail."

“You are correct, Sir Corley,” Jallarzi states. “The King was traveling to Athenos to inform Duke Linton of the change in Elcadan and that he had gained new territories. From my understanding, once he was finished there, he’d be traveling overland to Elcadan to see how we were progressing. Given everything that has happened since we left Pryis, I’d forgotten all about it. By my reckoning, the King should have arrived all ready.”

“I can attempt to scry for him with a Crystal Ball. If I can locate him, then I can teleport to that location and bring him and Dame Sharl here.”

"That would be a considerable weight lifted from all of our shoulders if you can make that come to be, cousin."

“As Lord Chareos stated, we need a safe haven for the King.

“And as this point, I think we cannot be sure just who is or is not an ally. We may be facing enemies on multiple fronts. We need more information.”

"We have much to do. A safe haven as a base of operation is indeed vital. And Castle Elcadan sounds like the perfect location for us. I will have the Seekers begin a detailed exploration of the castle immediately. Then we can see about activating the magicks that exist."

"As for the situation on multiple fronts, I think we have no doubt but to accept that. The humanoids will be attacking from the north and either Corunglain will be forced to fight them off once more, or they will be joining in on the attacks to our north, while Duke Kelvin and his allies move in from the south and east." It is quite obvious to Validar that they are in the middle of a pincer action. "We will need to face them seperately if we are to win. That means the battles must be fought on our terms, not simply sitting in defense waiting for them to strike us. Yet at the same time, we must make our defenses as strong as possible, both here and in Pyris. For my barony lies on the most direct route to Elcadan. It is fortunate that we have been preparing for war against Elcadan for some months now. Pyris will be ready to stand her ground."

Baron Validar of Pyris -

The Lady Sallavarian indicates that she can scrye for the king with her Crystal Ball.

“Do so immediately, Jallarzi,” Duke Relon states. “We need to know what has befallen the King.”

The Duke also agrees with the idea of using Castle Elcadan as a base for the Civil War and a place that is safe for not only the king but all of those now declared outlaws of Cynalon.

"It will be done, Your Grace."

Validar is among those that follow Jallarzi to her scrying room. Initial attempts to locate either the king or Dame Sharl are ineffective and not unexpected.

Validar is the first to speak as the chest sinks into the water. "If the King ad his lady are indeed insie the Stone House and it, in turn is inside that chest, then this rescue is even easier than we could have hoped. Even if we need to have several people go along, just in case, it should be a simple matter to teleport to that location, retrieve the chest and return here. Even if there are magickal traps or seals on the chest, we can deal with them in relative comfort and the King is in our hands once more."

"Jallarzi? What and whom do you need to make this happen? We should make the attempt immediately!"

"The worry is that we have more foes rallying against us. It is apparent that the Duke of Athenos is in league with Duke Kelvin or is part of a third enemy faction that seeks to promote itself in the rising chaos." Validar lets that last word resonate for a second. "Perhaps the demons have a hand in all of this and their influence has extended outside of Elcadan itself. We may be facing 3 or even more enemies bent on our destruction. This shall be a time in Cynalon's history where heroes and legends are made. Each of us will have a hand in seeing our Kingdom rise from this turmoil and put an end to her enemies once and for all."

Validar cannot help but thinking that the lands given to the Duke of Athenos are now likely forfeit for this assault on the King and wonders what the situation may be in Corunglain, as all indications are that the situation there is grim.

"We have much to do and much to prepare."

Baron Validar of Pyris-

Once the immediate situation with Jallarzi and the rescue of the King is decided, Validar will send his squires to gather the Seekers and also send word for the Guardians to explain about about what they have learned.

Validar will have the Seekers prepare for their immediate excursion into Castle Elcadan.

"You have 2 missions here. One is to scout every floor and every room of the castle and be certain that it is safe. There may be traps, magickal defenses, all sorts of things to catch the unwary. The second part is to locate anything magickal that may be the castle defenses or that may power them. Unfortunately we are not sure what we are looking for exactly. You may want to speak with Inquisitor Serena as she has much knowledge of magicks.

To the Guardians, he will indicate that there is plans for a rescue mission to the Order of the Griffons house in the capital and also the need to strike at the Necromancer in Akkoros as well. He will ask for volunteers for the attack to free the Order members.

Jallarzi:

Upon seeing the condition of Lady Penhaligon, Jallarzi will gesture to her staff to see that she is taken to a place where she can rest and have food and drink. Her news is surprising, as is the revelation of a multi-front war.
Baron Validar wrote:"As for the situation on multiple fronts, I think we have no doubt but to accept that. The humanoids will be attacking from the north and either Corunglain will be forced to fight them off once more, or they will be joining in on the attacks to our north, while Duke Kelvin and his allies move in from the south and east." It is quite obvious to Validar that they are in the middle of a pincer action. "We will need to face them separately if we are to win.
“If we do face multiple fronts and these fronts are not united, then perhaps we could turn one against the other,” Jallarzi muses. “After all, we have no reason to believe that the soldiers of the Inner Kingdom wish to see an orc invasion any more than we do. If those armies could be turned towards each other, then that would allow us to continue to fortify and deal with whatever threat comes from the south.”

In her scrying chamber, Jallarzi uses her Crystal Ball in an attempt to find the king. What she scries surprises her.
Baron Validar wrote:Validar is the first to speak as the chest sinks into the water. "Jallarzi? What and whom do you need to make this happen? We should make the attempt immediately!"
“Yes, you are correct, cousin,” Jallarzi says after regaining her composure. “I believe I have everything I need already in memory as I’ve been prepared for battle and fast movement these last several days.”

Standing up, Jallarzi casts several spells in succession. First she casts Polymorph Self and takes the form of an aquatic elf. This will allow her to breathe and see underwater. Secondly, she casts Improved Invisibility to conceal herself.

“I’ll be departing now,” Jallarzi says aloud. “I’ll be returning in the arrival chamber in the west tower momentarily.”

Teleport Without Error is cast and the target is the dock that she saw in the Crystal Ball. Once there, she’ll slip into the water and search for the chest. Once found, she’ll grab the chest and Teleport back to her arrival chamber.

“You are correct, Sir Acerion. Our allies must be rescued. We will need their strong sword arms and their wisdom in the days to come.”

“The obvious course of action to me is to repeat our strategy employed at Elcadan Castle. Come in at night on the Blackhawk and enter the Order Hall from above, thus bypassing the guards on the ground. Locate our allies and then withdraw before they even know we are there.

Sir Corley only half-hears Baron Validar’s suspicions. He’s too enraged to be thinking clearly.

“It appears that our efforts in Corunglain were all for not. The job remains unfinished. I will be departing to Corunglain immediately to restore order and to rescue the Lady Ardel!”

With that pronouncement, Sir Corley will excuse himself from the proceedings and go and gather his gear. He and his squires will then ride to Corunglain!

Sir Acerion wrote:"Last night during my meditations I was informed of just such an occurrence about to happen," Acerion reveals. "I have learned that the Order of the Griffon has been imprisoned in their own house. We must look to this as a situation needing remedy very shortly. We will need those valiant men with us during this time."
“You spoke to your father?” Ivy wonders. “I’m happy that you two have the chance to talk. I only wish the circumstances were not so dire.”

Ivy is present for most of what happens, but doesn’t really have a lot to add. She’s angry about all this needless pitting of countrymen against countrymen. Clearly, the demons are responsible for this apparent leave of common sense by so many people.
Baron Validar wrote:To the Guardians, he will indicate that there are plans for a rescue mission to the Order of the Griffons house in the capital and also the need to strike at the Necromancer in Akorros as well. He will ask for volunteers for the attack to free the Order members.
“Backed by the power of the Shield of Life,” Ivy will say, “I am more formidable against undead than ever before. My holy vows preclude me from taking part in raids against our countrymen and even against the suspected orc horde. Akorros seems like the destination for me.”

Argent:

Argent is late to the party and has much to catch up on.

“I don’t know who this Duke Kelvin is, but clearly he’s delusional,” Argent notes. “He’s not of the royal bloodline and from what we’ve heard, the former King could be talked into just about anything. He’s just taking advantage of things in a mad lust for power. Given all the bizarre rumors we’ve heard about our deeds here in the Outer Kingdom, you have to wonder just how wild those tales have grown in the Inner Lands. These people who follow him are either also delusional or acting upon the wild tales they’ve been told. It might be possible to change the minds of his followers when shown the truth.”

“As for my place in things, I am an Invoker. My powers are not subtle and tend to wreck wide scale havoc. Given the choice, I’d rather blow up undead or orcs than unleash my spells upon our own countrymen. But I will go where you wish, Baron.”

Hearing the commotion and the call for various volunteers, Regnak answers as he shakes the chill of winter breezes from his frame. “There is no question where I must go. Akorros is my home, even if is a shadow of itself.”

OUT OF CHARACTER -

I just wanted to mention that it appears that several people mis-read my comment on volunteers for the mission to free the Order members. It was not the intent that all missions would be done simultaneously. While I appreciate the suggestions on where people want to go, I do not think we have enough people to split up into 3 groups and still watch this place and take care of Elcadan.

So we need to do this in stages. The Seekers will explore the Castle, but a small group like this is not likely to be effective trying to do everything at once. The first mission is to rescue the Order members, whihc may give us enough people to do some other things.

(Assuming we can control the impetuous Sir Corley!)

Chronologically, the situation with Corley happens before we go to Jallarzi's chambers to find out about the King, so we do not know what the situation is when Corley goes to leave. Maybe we can resolve that ASAP?

Baron Validar -

“Has the kingdom fallen this far?” Sir Corley cannot help but wonder. “That we are now fighting with our own? I know that there’s never been any great love lost between the Inner and Outer Kingdoms, but all out war? I wonder what our ancestors would say if they could see us now?”

"I think that too is a wise choice. We do not need to fight any more than is necessary on this mission. Our best choice is to use those members who are fast, quiet and can use any magick abilities to mask the approach of the Blackhawk, as well as the infiltrators," Validar states.

"My feelings would be to have Argent, Chareos, Lyonessa, Serena, Sherra, Regnak and myself make the assault." Chareos had already agreed to come along, and Argent made it clear she had not real preferences.

(More on the plan in a later post, trying to catch things in some form of chronological order.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Sir Corley is clearly upset at the revelation that Lady Vera Ardel was captured by what appears to be the younger son of the Duke of Corunglain and a traitor to the realm. Validar does his best to explain what has happened and how things appear to piece together.

Sir Corley starts to make his leave, even in the midst of other business. Certainly he is concerned for the lady Ardel's safety. Validar makes a line to stop the young knight, knowing most likely that words alone will not impede his departure. Validar moves past Sir Corley and turns to face his friend. He will put an arm out to stop him, if his presence alone does not do so.

"I understand that you are upset, my friend. And that you have a personal stake in the safety of Lady Ardel. I do as well, and be assured that she is a priority of ours. However, if there is an army of Horde who are invading from the north or who have assaulted Corunglain again, then you will need some assistance. Having the King rescued and several of the Order of the Gryphon available, will allow us to go there with a stronger force and to use the Blackhawk to our advantage."

"Lady Vera is in no harm from the Corun boy. He wants her for his wife; no other reason. She may be imprisoned, but she is surely alive and well kept. Think rationally and you will see that it certainly is better to have allies in the Retribution Mission."

Baron Validar wrote:The group found a hidden treasure room it seems as well. "Duke Relon, do you know whether this is the cache of the Duchy or if this is simply ill-gotten gains horded here by the impersonators who ruled here? In any case, not knowing what is there notwithstanding, it should help immeasurably in the re-vitalization of this land."
“No way to know without consulting the gods,” the Duke notes, “but it matters not. It’s within the Duke’s Castle and thus the property of the Duke. It’ll be needed to raise the Army of Streel.”

Jallarzi has used her Crystal Ball to scry for the missing King. She couldn’t locate either King Victor or his consort Dame Harlena, but this is not a surprise as they are typically shielded from such Divinations as enemies could make the same attempt. So instead, Jallarzi seeks out the Stone House, the magical and moveable dwelling being used by the King. The Stone House is located and it seems to be inside a chest that was just tossed into the Southern Sea from the docks of Athenos.

Jallarzi casts several spells in preparation and then teleports to where the Chest was thrown. She indicates that she’ll be returning in her arrival chamber in a few minutes. The group makes there way to this location, but does not enter. Not long after that, Jallarzi, in form of a Sea Elf, returns with the chest.

“Nothing to it,” the sorceress notes.

The chest is quickly checked for magic and trips and is found to be clean. Inside the chest is a small sack that doesn’t seem big enough to hold to the Stone House.

“A Bag of Holding,” Jallarzi notes as he picks up the bag. “Oh, very clever!”

The bag is opened and the Stone House is removed. Once that is done it is sat down on the floor. The command word is given and the houses door appears allowing access into and out of the Stone House.

King Victor and Dame Sharl are quickly located. They are in fine shape and no worse for the wear. The group retires back to the makeshift audience hall for further discussions.

“Everything seemed to be going pleasant enough,” King Victor notes. “We had been using the Stone House as lodging for the trip, since my arrival was unannounced. One morning we attempted to leave the Stone House and the door opened up into a dark void of some kind. There was no exit any more!”

“That’s simple enough to explain, Your Majesty,” Jallarzi speaks up. “The inside of the bag is akin to another dimension unto itself. Thus, with the Stone House inside it, the door would also open up inside it. A very clever way to neutralize the artifact and convert it into a prison.”

“I can only assume the cowardly dogs didn’t think they could defeat us in battle,” Dame Sharl muses. “What else has transpired in our absence?”

And after the long and twisting tale has been explained to the King…

“Swift and decisive action is required”, the King states. “Duke Kelvin has long been maneuvering himself into my father’s favor, perhaps even coercing my father to name him his successor. Fortunately, I bet him to the punch. I am of the royal bloodline and do hold the royal regalia, something that Duke Kelvin could never make claim of.”

“Even worse is seems that both Corunglain and Athenos are also against us. It seems that by the time order is restored there will be an entirely new political landscape.”

“Your strategy thus far seems fine to me. Yes, let us free our comrades from the Order of the Griffon Order Hall. Then we can turn our eyes towards Corunglain.”

“This Blackhawk seems like a most useful vessel. We will need more such vessels now and in the future. We should stop at Gateway as well. I have every confidence that General Logan remains loyal to the crown. We’ll need his tactical prowess and his men in the battles to come.”

“Is there any news on the others in the Lord Council? What of Lord Sharadin?”

Lady Teris states that she doesn’t know the current situations of the other lords of the council. Most of them returned to their home territories, much like she had. Their fates are currently unknown. Lord Sharadin and Silvarn are out hunting for the other eggs holding clones of Ember. Jallarzi confirms this and that she hasn’t spoke to Sharadin since leaving Karn’s Keep for Pyris many days ago.
Baron Validar wrote:"You have 2 missions here. You may want to speak with Inquisitor Serena as she has much knowledge of magicks.”
“We’ll handle it,” Cereld pledges. “You can count on us.”

GM Notes:

Jallarzi will see that the Stone House is resupplied for what is to come. It can be used as lodging while on the Blackhawk. The Seekers depart to explore Castle Elcadan.

Dame Sharl is very familiar with the Order of the Griffon Hall. There is a griffon stable at the peak of the hall for those few Knights who actually had griffons. It can be used by the Blackhawk as an entry point. The holding cells are naturally in the dungeon underneath the hall. But there are secret passages built into the Order Hall, and the highest-ranking members only know this. Sharl is confident that you’ll be able to reach the cells by using this passages with only minimal resistance.

Now what?

Sir Corley nods his agreement. “We must also consider that this is a trap. The enemy surely will know that we will make this attempt. But we have an advantage that they do not know of. With the Blackhawk we can travel much faster than they anticipate. We might arrive before they are expecting us too.”

Lady Sallavarian succeeds and rescuing the King and his consort from their fate. Sir Corley doesn’t understand just how this all worked, but such knowledge isn’t necessary to him. Only that the King is among them once more.

“Any ideas how long it will take the Blackhawk to reach Alexandria? We should set out immediately.”

Argent catches up on what’s been going on. The King has been rescued and they’ll soon be departing on the Blackhawk to Alexandria, the capital of the Kingdom. Argent has only been there a few times when she was a child traveling with her parents. Unfortunately, this will not be a social visit. She’ll get her gear transported to the Stone House, as it seems it will be our base of operations for the foreseeable future.

"Lady Vera is in no harm from the Corun boy. He wants her for his wife; no other reason. She may be imprisoned, but she is surely alive and well kept. Think rationally and you will see that it certainly is better to have allies in the Retribution Mission."

The anger fades from Sir Corley’s face. “You are correct, my friend. I let my feelings for the fair Lady Ardel get the best of me. Let us continue on as planned and let the Corun boy thank the gods that he will be allowed to breath for another day.”

Validar lets out a slight sigh of relief. He was worried that Corley would be unreasonable given the situation, and who could truly blame him. Now there is more of an opportunity to control the situation. "You shall not regret this decision, my friend. When the time comes, vengence shall be swift."
------------------------------------------------

The Order Hall-
"My feelings would be to have Argent, Chareos, Lyonessa, Serena, Sherra, Regnak and myself make the assault." Chareos had already agreed to come along, and Argent made it clear she had not real preferences.

"The blessings of Mystra may allow me to keep the bloodshed to a minimum," Lyonessa says clearly troubled by all the news. "It would be best if not a single drop of blood be spilt but I fear there will be too much before this is over."

"Indeed that would be my hope, friend songstress. Any opportunities to help our situation while hindering that of our enemies is beneficial and in this case, doing so without killing the soldiers involved unnecessarily would be a wonderful thing."

Ivy apologizes for her misunderstanding of the situation.

“Too many other things weigh heavily on my heart right now to think clearly. All that has happened, Mother Boelle’s death… I will go to where I am needed. Where I cannot fight directly, I can make use of my healing magic.”

"Healing may be needed more for our enemies than for us. I have specifically chosen a group with a high concentration of magicks to use to infiltrate the Order House. With luck and skill we will shed no blod, but if we should then we also have healers on had to keep the dying to a minimum."

Validar thinks back on what she said a moment ago and a question fills his mind.

(“Backed by the power of the Shield of Life,” Ivy will say, “I am more formidable against undead than ever before. My holy vows preclude me from taking part in raids against our countrymen and even against the suspected orc horde. Akorros seems like the destination for me.”)

"I can understand the need for one of your caste to not fight against our own countrymen, but forgive my candidness. Those of us who were there when we assaulted the gatehouse in Corunglain saw you kill the humanoids who were attacking the fleeing citizens. Can you explain this apparent contradiction, please?"

Sherra:

Sherra listens to each shop owner as they explain to her just what she'll need to do. She won't be placing orders today as she isn't sure what each of her group might want and they would need to come in for measurements and the like anyways. She doesn't bat an eye at the prices as she knew such custom work was gonig to be expensive. There is however one thing that does cause her to pause.
She doesn't comment but does find it hard to not raise an eyebrow in surprise. Still Rislena shouldn't make any connections and so Sherra doesn't dwell on it. It's something she's going to have to investigate further and no doubt bring up to Validar and the others. Either someone has the same name or someone is pretending to be someone they're not, Sherra thinks. Of course with magic involved it could be any number of things.

She'll thank each shop owner for their time and information. The next thing Sherra needs to do is get the hide tanned so that once decisions are made the crafting of the armor can begin that much sooner. She will go and see about getting the hide removed and transported to a tanner as well as getting all the teeth and claws that look usuable and in good shape. At some point she knows she'll need to check in with the others, but she wants to oversee this first...

Ivy considers just how to answer the nobleman’s question.

“Azrella is the patron of life, unfortunately that means all life with the sole exception of those evil creatures who are directly trying to take the life from other good souls. So I can protect the innocent and defend the weak when they are threatened. I cannot, however, simply decide to out and slaughter orcs no matter how much I think they deserve it.”

“It simply comes down to this. I had no choose but to act as I did in Corunglain as there were innocents to protect from being slaughtered. None of us did. Now I have a choice, or at least I thought we were being given a choice earlier. But as I stated, I will go where needed and do what I can to help our cause. On that you can have no doubt.”

When the time comes to depart, Ivy will stand near Sir Acerion and see what happens next.

Post by Serena »

Serena:

Serena wakes the morning after the mission to liberate Castle Elcadan and does her prayers and meditations to regain spells before eating. She does not involve herself in the goings on of the day, but it seems that even more troubles have developed. A civil war has erupted. The priestess is deep in thought for a time after learning of the news.

“I cannot help but wonder,” Serena will finally say, “if the timing of this civil war has anything to do with the impending arrival of the Tower of Magic to this region. There are those extremists among the mages of Alphatia who see the tower coming to what they consider to be a backwater country as nothing but an abomination, completely missing the point that the tower goes where Mystra wishes, not them. The mages of Alphatia have strayed too far from the path of Mystra and that is why they will not have the Tower of Magic in their borders again. Far too many of my countrymen feel that they are entitled to the tower and do not realize that it is a gift, not a birthright.”

“Forgive me, but I seemed to have strayed from my original thought. My point is this, I would not be surprised if this Duke Kelvin has some support among Alphatian radicals that are bolstering his position. Perhaps even having the mad belief that they can take over the Tower once it arrives if they are in alliance with the ruler of Cynalon. Your foe may be more dangerous than he appears at first glance.”

Cereld, the portly Priest of Heironeous, stops to ask Serena about potential magic protections that could be found in Castle Elcadan.

“There are three or four possible types of protections that come to mind,” Serena replies. “The first type were built into the castle itself when raised, so you will not discover them. Such things as using the blood of certain creatures mixed into the mortar to block ethereal passage into the castle.”

“The second type would be a spell engine, much like the one employed by the Blackhawk. While this device can have many different appearances, it will always have a fire chamber where the magical flame will burn. If the engine does not hold any magical energy, there will be no flame. Regardless, such a device will detect as magical if checked.”

“The third form of protections is a class of magic far beyond my meager skills and comprehension. These are known as True Dweomers and are ultimate feat of spell casting. It is said that as a caster grows more powerful that they become aware of their own personal energies and their connection to the universal energy that is magic itself. It is said that they can manipulate and bend these energies to their will and that is what a True Dweomer is. It is not a spell in a traditional sense, nor can it ever be written down on a scroll or in a spell book. It is a powerful mage or priest directly manipulating magical energies. It is said such spells have many strange requirements and ingredients.”

“For instance, the Floating Kingdom of Ar employ True Dweomers to, well, keep the kingdom aloft in the air. On the first day of each new season, great festivals are held and it is whispered that the timing of these festivals is what renews the enchantment and keeps the kingdom floating.”

“Unfortunately, much like any magical defenses built into the castle's construction, this type of magic you will not be able to find or detect. The detection of this type of energy is beyond a simple detect magic spell. And if such magic does exist within the castle, it is probably dormant now, until such time that the recharging condition is met so that it can begin anew.”

“I hesitated to include the possible forth method of protective enchants, as such magic no longer exists, but it did exist when Castle Elcadan was built by the Fellowship of Mages. These magics were spells beyond what is now considered to be the most powerful of mage spells. Legend has it that so intense was committing such spells into memory that they drove the caster insane over time. It was because of that Mystra herself remove such dangerous magic from mortal hands.”

“The lost spell in question is called 'Create Mythal'. It was a cooperative magic spell that had to be cast by nine archmages. The spell created a permanent web if living magic, typically completely surrounding a city, much like they did in the ruins of Old Elcadan. Most Alphatian cities have had such magics cast upon them when they were built. Each mage could add a unique affect to the Mythal and two secret ones. It is these effects that give the city a magical feel to it.”

“As an example, Sundsvall, the Imperial Capital of Alphatia has a Mythal covering it. Within the city, it is impossible to cast divination spells or to even teleport in or out of the city. Privacy in a city filled with mages is hard to come by, so such protections were needed. More mundane affects, including invoking a Feather Fall effect should some one fall more than five feet, exist. The affects worked into a Mythal are limited only by your imagination. Based on what I have seem of Elcadan so far, there does not seem to be any special city-wide magics in place there.”

“Does that help you help in your mission, Cereld?”

Later on, Serena learns that a rescue mission to the Cynalonian capital of Alexandria is to be undertaken and that she will be responsible for piloting the Blackhawk via the Spell Engine.

Serena's first question is just how far away Alexandria is and learns that the distance is about 500 miles.

“That is too far a distance to travel like we did to Castle Elcadan”, the Inquisitor notes. “We will have to employ the 'Up and Down' method to reach Alexandria in a timely fashion as direct flight would take about two days.”

If pressed about the Up and Down method, Serena will explain, “I do not understand the theory behind why this works as it does, but in short the higher up a Spell Engine controlled vessel goes, the faster it goes. We will go up and once high enough use the accelerated movement briefly to move us over Alexandria and then descend once more. Hence why it is called the Up and Down method. My guess is that our travel time will be in the two to three hour range.”

“I will need Sherra to plot the course to Alexandria so that we reach or destination and not get lost. Has anyone seen her?”

Sherra about town

Sherra continues her travels in Elcadan, unaware of what is going on back at the Sallavarian estate.
She'll thank each shop owner for their time and information. The next thing Sherra needs to do is get the hide tanned so that once decisions are made the crafting of the armor can begin that much sooner. She will go and see about getting the hide removed and transported to a tanner as well as getting all the teeth and claws that look usable and in good shape. At some point she knows she'll need to check in with the others, but she wants to oversee this first...
After finishing her business with the three shop owners, Sherra makes her way to the Tanner's Guild offices. She learns that they are at the southern end of the South Slums on Watersedge Street. Fortunately, Watersedge runs the entire length of the slums, making it somewhat easier to reach her destination.

Along the way Sherra comes across several business, such as spice shops, leather shops, and a jewelry store that all seem more run down and lesser in quality than those elsewhere in the better parts of Elcadan. The charred remains of a burned down building is seen, but the fire was not recent.

The smell of fresh fish reaches Sherra as she move through the fishing district. There are shops selling fish and others smoking and salting them. The area is thick with cats waiting to fight over scraps as the fish are prepped to sell.

Leaving the North Slums, Sherra moves into the South Slums and is immediately greeted by a sign for the Happy Whore Tavern. Further along are numerous buildings that Sherra concludes are brothels. A few comely ladies are out before the houses looking for customers, but they are not scantily dressed on this cold winter's day. No doubt there would be more present on a warm summers afternoon. Another tavern signals the end of the brothel area of Watersedge, the humorously named “Maurice's Bum Tavern”.

(Maurice was the name of the former Duke of Elcadan, and yes, he was not very popular.)

From there, Sherra starts to enter into the tannery district. Here are places where hides are tanned and made ready to be used by leather workers. A few leather shops are present, but all are of lesser quality to Rislena's. However, there doesn't seem to be many tanner's around this day. Questioning one of those tanner's present will get this bit of information”

“Haven't you heard?” The tanner says excitedly. “Those Priests of Heironeous slew a dragon underneath the castle! They've contracted many workers to go and skin the beast and recover what other valuables in might possess! I wish I could have gone.”

At the Sallavarian Estate, Cereld thanks Serena for her information and walks away from the Priestess of Mystra with a blank, mind completely blown look on his face.

GM Notes:

The date is now December 27th of the 571 CR. The 28th is New Year's Eve, as the Cynalonian calender has twelve months of 28 days.

As I understand it, the current plan is to use the Blackhawk to attempt to rescue those imprisoned in the Order of the Griffon Hall in Alexandria. Those going on this mission include Argent, Chareos, Lyonessa, Serena, Sherra, Regnak, and Validar. Dame Sharl will be going as well, since she is familiar with the Order Hall and knows its secret ways. Griffon Master, Sir Alon and those loyal to him are said to be held captive in the cells underneath the order hall in Alexandria.

What are the others going to do during this time? (Corley, Acerion, Ivy, etc.)

The King also suggested traveling to Gateway to alert General Logan to what is going on as his tactical skills will be need in the battles to come.

As Serena indicated, travel time to Alexandria is in the 2 to 3 hour range and right now its about noon local time. Since this is the dead of winter, its usually dark by 5 or so.

And to refresh everyone's memories, here is a rough list of everything going on right now.

Duke Kelvin has declared himself King of Cynalon, starting a civil war. Lady Teris Penhaligon brought this news and that Duke Kelvin is gearing up the armies to come forth and restore order to the Outer Kingdom.

Two of the three Deville sisters have been banished, but not permanently destroyed. They can return, but just how long it will take for them to recover is unknown. The third sister, Thelma DeVille, is an Arch-Necromancer and it is suspected that she holds the samples of flesh used to create the clones of Ember who's growing eggs you have found before. Her home is in Akorros, a fallen Cynalonian city on the shores of Lake Amsorak. The sister's plots spin far and wide and deep into the Underdark, but they are primarily interested in causing chaos and suffering.

Alexander DeVille is imprisoned in a secret chamber underneath Castle Elcadan.

It appears that Corunglain has been overrun once more and that the younger of Duke Corun's children is responsible. It is believe that orcs have taken over and an orc horde will be moving south soon. Lady Vera Ardel has been spirited away to be married against her will to the murderous youngest son of Duke Corun.

Likewise, the Duke Linton of Athenos has aligned with Duke Kelvin and very nearly succeed in imprisoning the real king and his consort Dame Sharl within the Stone House. Lady Sallavarian rescued them, bringing them to her estate. It can only be a matter of time before the armies of Athenos march north to Elcadan.

The Great Swamp borders much of the road between Athenos and Elcadan. The Guardians learned early on that the Cult of the Blackflame had returned. Information pointed to an old Blackflame base hidden in or around the swamp, but no one has had time to investigate further. The Cult kidnapped the young King Victor the Seventh and his older sister Theandra. The future king was rescued by brave adventurers, but his sister was never found.

Even more events are transpiring, but these are the more crucial ones. And that brings us to that eternal question....

Sherra:

Sherra heads towards where she can find the tanners. Along the way she passes throught the brothel district. She doubts she will be harrassed by anyone here, but moves through with purpose nonetheless. She's been in less savory places so this can hardly bother her. Eventually she arrives in the tanners district to find it... empty? Well almost. Questioning one of the few she finds about, Sherra can hardly believe what she is told.
“Haven't you heard?” The tanner says excitedly. “Those Priests of Heironeous slew a dragon underneath the castle! They've contracted many workers to go and skin the beast and recover what other valuables in might possess! I wish I could have gone.”
One eyebrow shoots up as an incredulous look crosses her face. Unless she miscounted castles, someone is taking credit, and the spoils, of their deeds. "Well, they didn't do it without help," Sherra states matter-of-factly and turns on her heel and heads back. Someone is going to hear of this if that tanner's story has any truth to it.

Sherra about town:

In travels about Elcadan, Sherra has learned that the Priests of Heironeous have contacted the tanners guild, and other workers, to deal with the remains of the dragon slain underneath Castle Elcadan.

Determined to find out what is going on, Sherra makes her way north along Watersedge Street and back out on the slums. Form there she goes west along the High Road towards Old Town. Inside Old Town is a direct entrance to the Duke's Fortress on Noble's Island.

As Sherra rides along, she spots several familiar men riding a bit ahead of her. Among them are Cereld of Heironeous, the hulking warrior Blod, and the elfin ranger Arocken. All three are members of the Seekers, an adventuring band that Baron Validar used to be in. Former members have been turning up over the last few weeks.

Catching up to the riders, Cereld greets Sherra in his usual loud and booming voice. “Hail Lady Sherra!”, he says in greeting. “I was not aware that you would be joining us in our assignment. I had thought you would be with the others on their mission to Alexandria.”

That assignment being the complete exploration of Castle Elcadan so that the Duke of Streel can safely move in.

The group reaches the Duke's Gate in old town and crossover the bridge to the Noble's Island. Followers of Heironeous and Helm stand guard. The group is allowed to pass.

Once inside the protective walls of the Duke's Fortress, the group begins to dismount. Warton, the High Priest of Heironeous here in Elcadan strides forth.

“Ah, good you've arrived. We have much to accomplish this day. Not only does the Castle need to be secured, we will need to secure the Noble Estates as well.”

The Duke's fortress the northern half of the Noble's Island, while four estates of various sizes cover the southern half. The largest of these estate belonged to Lord Furnow, the former master of the city Council. The smallest estate belongs to Lord Cranmer and his family. Lord Cranmer was one of only two councilmen who remained in Elcadan to greet the arrival of the new Duke. The other two estates belonged to the infamous DeVille family which was abandoned over a hundred years ago and to Lord Gotmun.

It is now suspected that Furnow, Gotmun, along with Pander and Bulema were all Priests of Mammon, the infernal God of Greed and Avarice. It seems that instead of dealing with the arrival of a new Duke, they ran like rats with their pilfered gains. Both Pander and Bulema left minor guardian demons behind in their homes.

When the matter of the dragon is brought up, Warton will say with a chuckle. “It seems the tanner misunderstood the situation. We Priests of Heironeous contracted the work on salvaging what could be from the dragon to be done, but made no claim of the kill. It would be unseemly for the Duke Relon to move into his new home and have a rotting dragon corpse stinking up the place. So I took the liberty of having what materials could be taken from it removed and what's left over disposed of. Those materials belong to you and your fine companions of course.”

“While the others are going forth to rescue Sir Alon, the Master of the Order of Griffons, we have been charged with preparing the Duke's fortress for hostilities that are sure to come now that we are at war. To that end we are working to clear the three empty estates so that they can be used a shelter for those who cannot fight when the enemy armies come.”

"Well met, all of you," Sherra replies back, indicating each rider in turn with a brief glance and inclination of her head. "In truth I am not," she adds in reply to joining them, "but was also unaware that a mission was about to embark."

"Agreed," Sherra comments. "Clearly we were both thinking the same thing, but where you have reputation and resources at your disposal I merely have myself," she says with an easy smile.

"I shall not distract you any further then," Sherra says, preparing to excuse herself. "It would probably be wise to return to the others and be brought up to speed on the developing situation."

With that, she will say her goodbyes and return directly to her companions. Certainly there will not be any dull moments to be had anytime soon.

“Ah, then you missed the latest news?” Cereld guesses.

The portly priest does his best to bring Sherra up to date on what has transpired. Basically, Duke Kelvin of the Inner Kingdom has declared himself King triggering a civil war. Lady Teris Penhaligon arrived after fleeing the inner lands to warn of what has transpired. She said that Sir Alon and those allied with him were captured and imprisoned within the Order Hall of the Griffons. The plan is to use the Blackhawk to quickly reach the order hall and infiltrate it from the top down to rescue the mean.

Cereld also seems to recall Serena looking for Sherra concerning the mission.
Sherra wrote:"Agreed," Sherra comments. "Clearly we were both thinking the same thing, but where you have reputation and resources at your disposal I merely have myself," she says with an easy smile.
“My apologies if I overstepped my bounds,” Warton says easily enough. “I simply figured that with everything going on that you and your companions have more important things to concern yourself with.”
Sherra wrote:"I shall not distract you any further then," Sherra says, preparing to excuse herself. "It would probably be wise to return to the others and be brought up to speed on the developing situation."
“It was no distraction,” Warton responds. “And yes, that would probably be the wisest course of action. We'll handle things here in the meantime. May the Honorable Warrior watch over you.”
Sherra wrote:With that, she will say her goodbyes and return directly to her companions. Certainly there will not be any dull moments to be had anytime soon.
Urging her horse on once more, Sherra quickly makes the ride back to the Sallavarian Estate. The Estate lies several miles outside of Elcadan and is only about a twenty minute ride at a leisurely pace.

Once there, the stable hands sees to her horse and Sherra enters the main house and is quickly brought up to speed on the situation. (As covered by Cereld and the posts above.)
