Eternal Vigilance #82 - "Return from Beyond"
Prologue 1:
Thirty miles due east of Ensenada, Mexico, an alarm had sounded in the Genocide Base. It came from one of their concealed facilities in San Diego, California and was of great importance to organizations overall mission, the elimination of all mutant kind.
Orders were received from main base. A troop transport was to be dispatched to San Diego to secure the facility. The operation was to be commanded by one of the Royal Council themselves. Failure was not an option.
The Genocide Transport sped towards San Diego towards a very specific destination. It slowed as it approached the ADT building and prepared to land. There were signs that a second craft had crashed into the building. The operatives couldn’t be sure if this had the source of the alarm or not. Regardless, it had to be investigated.
The door to the transport opened and a stream of individuals issued forth. First there were several men in black and gray military style uniforms. The large helmets that they wore obscured their features. Each carried a weapon and had others hanging from their belts. On the shoulder of each man was a small white circle surrounding the image of a chess piece. In this case the image was of a black queen.
Once the area was secured, a man in a suit of indigo colored mesh armor exited the transport. He wore black gloves, boots, and utility belt. A silver-gray mask covered his face and he wore a rust-red hooded cloak. He was known as the Purifier. He was the Black Queen's Bishop.
Lastly came the Black Queen herself. She was a woman of above average looks dressed all in black leather including high gloves and boots with a cape. She easily carried a large gun in her right hand. The characteristic that would automatically attract any onlooker was the woman's left shoulder and upper arm not covered by her opera glove: it was metal and not flesh!
The Pawns rushed forward with military precision, securing one position as another Pawn moved ahead to secure the next. The Black Queen and Purifier followed along, seemingly unconcerned.
Although she didn't show it, the Black Queen was on edge. It was an intrusion alarm detected back at the Genocide Base in Ensenada that had caused her and her operatives to travel to San Diego. Unknown to anyone, this particular ADT complex had secret ties to Genocide. A new experimental type of agent-- dubbed Knights-- was being created here. They were a combination of human and machine, essentially being cyborgs. To make matters worse, a Minuteman Mark VII was being constructed here. It was to be the ultimate weapon against mutant kind once the war for genetic purity began. It could not fall into enemy hands!
The Genocide contingent entered the ADT Complex and woe to anyone, especially mutants, who got in their way!

Prologue 2:
Deep within the ADT complex, a lone teenage boy sat inside the cockpit of the Minuteman Mark VII. It was an amazing piece of technology even he had to admit, certainly far superior to the Kronus Battlesuit that he had constructed! And even better, once its construction was complete it was all his!
His given name was Andrew Peach. He was 17 years old and was nothing special to look at. But looks can be deceiving. The chemicals dumped by Cell 13 into the El Paso water supply had mutated him. His intellect had been expanded beyond genius level. Which would have been a good thing for mankind, provided that Andrew wasn’t a self-center, egotistical psychopath who deemed all others an order of evolution below his.
For a time he was known as Kronus, named after the 12’ tall Battlesuit he had created in the name of the ancient king of the titans. Alas, the mean of the name was beyond the understanding of most and he grew tired of explaining it. Instead, he took High IQ and combined it into Hi-Q, for his was surely the highest in the existence of mankind.
For a time Hi-Q was member of the Rat Pack. He followed Phoenix, mainly because she was really hot in more ways than one. He learned much about how to steal effectively, but quickly learned that the fiery woman had little else she could teach him. He no longer had any use for her, except as a means to an end.
Thus when Phoenix announced that she was traveling to San Diego after the Thugmaster’s Elite, Hi-Q talked her into allowing him to come along. San Diego was well known for it’s numerous high-tech corporations. There was surely going to be something useful to Hi-Q there!
Once in San Diego, Hi-Q wandered off and chose the ADT Building as his first target. Getting inside was ridiculously simple for one of his advanced intellect. But even he was surprised what he found inside! Thinking that the more important plans would be stored in the basement, Hi-Q instead found a secret Genocide lab!
Now he had no great love of Genocide since he himself was a mutant. But to take their technology and use it to his own ends, that he could do.
Hi-Q left the cyborgs called Knights alone. If they had been completely machines he could re-program them to obey only him. But alas they had some human will and he couldn’t take the chance that they would turn on him.
No, instead he settled on the Minuteman Mark VII as his target. The giant robot was not finished, but the automated systems were working on it. Thanks to his high intelligence, the construction process was greatly accelerated. Andrew settled into the cockpit of the giant robot and was content to sit and wait.
But at least there were other things in the going on in the building that he could watch via the internal security cameras. One particular camera had Andrew riveted. Originally it was only a signal woman scientist working on some kind of large gauntlets, when several other women in costume joined her. They all were very hot and Andrew, being a teenage boy with raging hormones, was transfixed. So much so that the completion of the Minuteman Mark VII was running behind schedule. Tasks that he needed to carry out were ignored. At this point Hi-Q didn’t care. He was too transfixed on the monitor.

On the monitor, a tall woman in a royal blue and purple costume was chatting with a woman scientist. A golden birdlike emblem covers her heart and a matching golden birdlike helmet covers the top of her head. A long beak protrudes from the helmet over her hose and small-feathered wings sweep away from her ears. Long auburn colored hair can been seen flowing from underneath this helmet. Lastly, a pair of wings made up of some transparent bluish energy emerges from her back and supports her.
The scientist was raging just how stupid men had overlooked her for promotions. The winged woman understood completely and offered her aid. The lady scientist held up what appeared to be a large metallic armband. "Back by the power of my laser gauntlets, no man will ever push me around again! No one will ever push around Dr. Photon!"
"Welcome to the Furies, Dr. Photon", the winged woman congratulates. Hi-Q learned that she was called Chimera and was the leader of this band.
In turn Chimera introduced the rest of her associates.
There was Blaise Morgan, an attractive brunette. Blaise wears a green robe that’s tied shut with a green sash over a black bodysuit. The robe drops just below the woman’s waist. On her feet she wears green ankle boots with high heels. On her head she wears a green witch-like pointed hat.
The tallest and most physically imposing of the group was a muscular black woman wearing a black bodysuit with blue diamond patterns down the sides that left her arms bare. She wore short white gloves and was literally built like a brick house. Her code name was Hardbody and it most certainly was!
Rounding out the supers is the woman with electricity occasionally playing about her very nice body. Electra was her name and she had long blonde hair. Her costume consists of a blue one piece that covers her torso. The collar is a deep V-neck that is yellow and is stylized to resemble lighting. Black leggings and arm coverings finish out her attire.
“I’ve gotta invent some mind control gizmo to make all these hot super babes worship me!” Andrew panted as very vivid fantasies played out in his mind.
"I had made the decision to use my energy gauntlets to make things right awhile ago," Dr. Holland said from the small storage closet. "Even the score with all those pigs that held me back! To that end I worked in secret to create a suitable costume for myself. While perhaps not the most fashionable, it will suit my needs. It had been my intention to make off with the gauntlets this weekend with everyone was away."
Dr. Holland stepped out into the open once more. This time she had ditched her regular clothes and was wearing a tight-fitting orange and red bodysuit. The outfit completely covered her body and opaque goggles protected her eyes. An energy gauntlet was on each arm.
"Dr. Photon is ready to even up the score!"
"Very good", Chimera easily stated. " I’ve learned that there are rumors of a secret Genocide Lab here in the ADT Building. That was our purpose for coming here and putting a stop to that nonsense. Any equipment that I happened to come across that I could use in my research would be desirable too, so finding you was a welcomed, but unexpected bonus."
"What's the plan?"
Chimera considered for a moment. "We continue to hunt for this secret lab. Any ideas on where it could be?”
After a moment's thought, Dr. Photon said, "I’m familiar with most of this place, as I’ve been bounced around from department to department. Maybe in the basement there’s something? I’ve never been down there."
But before anything else could happen, an alarm sounded! Both Andrew and the Furies were caught off guard. Andrew cycled through the security monitors trying to find what was going on.
Things were now happening at a rapid pace. A VIPER craft crashed into the side of the building! The camera noted that only one of the VIPER’s had exited the craft. He moved with deliberate purpose through the building and as he did, he turned invisible!
Several of the local heroes were on the rooftop when this happened. Andrew didn’t even notice them arrive until now. They split up to check out the crash. Chimera and her Furies moved out as well.
And then a Genocide transport landed on the roof! It seemed that all these fractions were on a collision course and Andrew was content to just sit back and watch.
“Wish I had some popcorn,” Hi-Q said to himself. “This looks like it’ll be good!”

Roll Call: Powershift
Powershift flies through the ADT building. His mystic senses could tell him that someone had gone this way from the crash site. But who was it? What did they want and where were they going? Strangely enough, the trail was leading him back to the rooftop!
As he flew closer, Powershift could hear the sound of another aircraft landing on the rooftop helipad. Who was it now?
Flinging the door to the roof open, Powershift came face to face with the forces of Genocide!
“Take him out!” the Black Queen commanded, point her very large gun at the hero.
Roll Call: Backlash, Eldrich, and Sea Guard
The trio of heroes is surveying the VIPER crash site. Sea Guard uses his waterpowers to put the fires out. He suggests that Backlash and Eldrich check out the area, while he works to see if he can retrieve data from the onboard computer. Perhaps even learning the location of the local VIPER Nest.
The pair turns the corner and finds themselves face to face with five costumed females!
“Let me blast’em!” Dr. Photon cries out, pointing her gauntlets threateningly.
“Yeah, let’s smash’em,” Hardbody adds, flexing her muscles.
“At ease, ladies,” Chimera states. Turning to the heroes she says, “Gentleman, this is certainly a surprise. I trust that you were responsible for that noise and accompanying alarms that we heard? Are you here to help us take down Genoicide’s secret lab or will this end in violence?”

Backlash wrote:"Well guess that makes part of our job easier." as he takes his hand from the neck of a dead viper agent. Looking at Sea Guard. "If you find anything keep in touch. Come on Eldrich, there is work to be done." he says as he moves off in search of the unknown crash and run.
The pair moves deeper into the complex. Edgar reports via their comlink that a second aircraft just arrived at the ADT Building. Its point of origin was over the border in Mexico.Eldrich wrote:"I am at your service."

Roll Call: Frostbite, Goldstar, Stargirl, Menagerie, Flux, Tesla, Starguard, and the Scarlet Sabre
Out in deep space, a group led by Goldstar is restoring function to the former Crimson Claw’s ship.
The basic repairs have been completed. The hull is sealed and power restored. Then Edgar reports that a Transdimensional signature is appearing the Arena level of the ship. The heroes go to investigate.
Flux reaches the Arena first, by simply phasing through the decks. He spies a ripple in the air that’s growing larger as time passes.
The rest of the group arrives and takes up defensive positions. The ripple grows larger and starts to take form. And it’s a familiar and deadly one!
Standing there is the Crimson Claw himself, is left arm plunged into the silhouette that is Borealis! The Greater Emerald Eye still glows in Borealis’ hand and he’s still a living gateway to that Dark Dimension where the ancient ones were imprisoned!
“We’ve returned!” The Crimson Claw shouts. “Now this world shall pay for its insolence!”
In response, Shadow Demons begin to pour out of the gateway, much like they had during the final battle those many months ago!

I’m just not sure if you’re ready to hear the answer. Tesseract’s agents are drawn from other timelines that she’s nipped. Dimensions where things went horribly wrong and individuals fought to make them right by altering the timeline. When things are put right, the bad dimension ceases to exist. But Tesseract spares some of those individuals and they are her silent operatives in time and space. Literally men and women from dimensions that never really existed. It is entirely possible that there is a version of you who does work for Tesseract and that she’s the one who had the ship do what it did to reach us. It looks like your work because it is your work. Or rather, the work of another you.”

GM Notes
GM Notes:
I bet you were wondering if I was going to get to you guys! In hindsight, I should have started these interludes a while back. And yes, they were mostly lifted from old posts and rewritten for the current situation.
Blackout and Lavender are as per last post.
If you’re curious about just how created this ship and just how the Claw made it back, just check out the end of Troubleshooters #11. It explains it all!
Now what?

Blackout:
"You're right, I don't trust you," Blackout says finally, then adds, "yet. Again I would urge you to steer clear of ADT and let us get this settled. If you insist on finding your way there, I can not guarantee what will occur. I would much rather discuss things with you later, but again, it's your choice."
Blackout turns to Lavender and says simply, "Let's go." A short teleport later and they should be there...
Blackout listens but that's all he does. This woman could go either way, and he's hoping she chooses the right way, but he can't look after her now. She'll be a liability, and possibly an antagonist, and that could prove deadly in the wrong situation.Phoenix’s demeanor doesn’t change all that much. Rage does not come over her, but rather a kind of sadness.
“Corporations who try to kill me and knowingly dump dangerous chemicals into the water supply will do that to me,” Phoenix answers. “Jensek is just a front for Cell 13, their black op’s division. Chemicals they literally dumped down the drain and into the water supply mutated hi-Q and the other kids. These kids mothers drank that water while they were pregnant and once their children hit puberty they changed dramatically.”
“Look, I make no apologies for the things I’ve done. We have robbed drug dealers and taken money from other criminal scum. But not to get wealthy, just to have money to get by. I’m not rich, and neither are any of these kids. It was victimless crimes.”
“And whatever reports there are of me are created by the PR department of Jensek. It’s their job to make me look like the bad guy when it’s really them who are the criminals. I may not be a hero, but I’m not criminal either. I’m just trying to protect people from greedy corporations.”
“If you don’t want to trust me, that’s fine. I’ll find my own way to ADT.”

Goldstar:
As the group moves out, Flux is giving out orders and advice. He’s certainly grown into the leadership position.
Down in the Arena level of the ship, trouble looms. A dimensional ripple opens and the former master of the ship returns!
Turning to Stargirl she’ll say, “Use your Photon Blast on these creatures.”
To all present, Goldstar will add, “Let’s nip this right in the bud here and now. Take ’em down!”
“Sorry,” was all that Goldstar could say apologetically. “Perhaps I should have remained quiet on the matter.”Scarlet wrote:“I’m not sure that I was ready to hear that either,” Scarlet slowly answers. “It’s both comforting in one way and very disturbing in another.”

Stargirl:
Everyone is off to see what is going on elsewhere in the ship. Stargirl will trail behind them with Frostbite in her arms. Flux offers some good advice, but it’s not really necessary as Stargirl can survive without a space suit.
Upon arriving at our destination, it seems that ugly monsters are invading us!
“That’s cool then,” Stargirl answers, finding herself like Menagerie more and more.Menagerie wrote:"You know, sometimes I wonder that myself - especially with some of the odd experiences we've had lately" Menagerie replies with a smile. "Still, as far as I know, I'm not really old enough to be your mother, so I guess you're right."
“Yeah, I can imagine,” Stargirl offers. “Okay, maybe I can’t but it seemed like the thing to say.”Menagerie wrote:"That's handy. Wish I'd had someone to guide me along early on. Pretty much had to figure my new powers out on my own. At least they weren't uncontrollable or anything. I've heard of that happening, and it's a pretty rough road for all involved."
“Yeah…, but I didn’t think that I’d be doing the work!”Menagerie wrote:"Work is why we came out here..."
“Yeah, but let’s never do this again,” Stargirl will tease.Menagerie wrote:As they finish up, Menagerie tells Stargirl, "Good job. I think we made a pretty good team on this."
Everyone is off to see what is going on elsewhere in the ship. Stargirl will trail behind them with Frostbite in her arms. Flux offers some good advice, but it’s not really necessary as Stargirl can survive without a space suit.
“Hey, this is 1986 and I’m a liberated woman,” Gloria teases. “Just sit back and enjoy the flight.”Frostbite wrote:Frosty will appreciate the lift from Stargirl and follow. "You know this is supposed to be reversed. I should be carrying you." he says with an icy smirk.
Upon arriving at our destination, it seems that ugly monsters are invading us!
“You got it mom!”Goldstar wrote:“As I recall from the reports, light based attacks take these things down,” Goldstar calmly states.
Turning to Stargirl she’ll say, “Use your Photon Blast on these creatures.”
Stargirl will hover near the edge of the room firing her Photon blast into invaders.Goldstar wrote:To all present, Goldstar will add, “Let’s nip this right in the bud here and now. Take ’em down!”

If the Flash is effective against the shadow creatures, Menagerie will stick with that. Otherwise, she'll switch to Quasar's light blasts - spreading them as much as she can and still keep them effective.
"I know what you mean," Menagerie says softly, a far-away look in her eyes.Stargirl wrote:“Yeah, I can imagine,” Stargirl offers. “Okay, maybe I can’t but it seemed like the thing to say.”
Menagerie just chuckles and shakes her head. The optimism of youth...Stargirl wrote:“Yeah…, but I didn’t think that I’d be doing the work!”
A moment of instinctual panic sweeps through Menagerie as memories of her previous experience with these creatures threaten to overwhelm her. Struggling to beat them back, she fires Quasar's full-power light burst (Flash), attempting to catch both the dimensional rift and the Crimson Claw in it's radius. She doesn't hear the Goldstar and the others, only her own quickened pulse pounding in her ears.GM Mad wrote:The rest of the group arrives and takes up defensive positions.

Roll Call: Blackout & Lavender
Lavender teleports Blackout away from Phoenix before the fiery woman can say anything else.
A couple of jumps later, the pair arrive on the roof top of the ADT building and right into the middle of a batlle. Powershift is here and he's being attacked by men in black and gray uniforms. They are led by a man wearing mesh armor colored indigo. A woman in black leather carrying a rather large gun is the overall leader and they all seem vaguely familair.
The enemy doesn't notice the new arrivals just yet.

"Cut the connection between Claw and Borealis. Everyone with light effects throw them out there."
Flux has one good way to break the physical link between The Crimson Claw and the outline of Borealis. He shrinks down and heads to that point of joining intending to expand like a wedge and force them apart. If the Claw gets driven into a wall so much the better.
Believe me Claw this will hurt you more than it does me.

I do not see any magic in effect here. Only myself and the elemental master of the sea are so gifted. Thus, I am confident the outcome will favor us.
"Another craft? Is this building being raided by a neighboring Lord? Or is it two Lords in conflict?" Eldrich asks Seaguard the question but there is no time to get an answer. The pair moves deeper into the complex. Edgar reports via their comlink that a second aircraft just arrived at the ADT Building. Its point of origin was over the border in Mexico.
"That statement is incorrect. We have not caused the vessel impacts or made any great noises. I would perfer to avoid violence here but I will not be threatened by strangers. We are here to defend the occupants of this edifice from attackers that arrived by force."The pair turns the corner and finds themselves face to face with five costumed females!

Roll Call: Backlash & Eldrich
At the Advance Design and Technology building a series of events are occurring in rapid order. The trouble started when the teenage genius calling himself Hi-Q broke into the building at night. He discovered a secret Genocide laboratory in the basement. In this lab several men were being changed into cyborgs as part of a new program to combat the mutant threat by creating an elite force of Knights.
But that was not the only danger. They were constructing a Minuteman Mark VII, the newest model of the giant mutant hunting robots. This one would be the most powerful one of all and he wanted it!
Hi-Q’s actions trigger several silent alarms. Once such alarm alerted Edgar and he in turned summoned those members of the Vigilant on Earth. But another alarm also sounded in the Genocide Base just over the boarder in Mexico. They also dispatched a force to investigate.
The heroes arrived first and right after they did a VIPER troop transport crashed into the building! The fires were quickly put out, but the VIPER agents on the transport were killed. Except for the pilot. There was no sign of him and Powershift flew off to find him.
But all these fractions were not the only ones present. Chimera and her female Furies were also on hand. They had learned of the existence of the secret Genocide lab and had come to destroy it. Unfortunately, they didn’t know just where in the building it was. To that end, the group worked their way down from the roof in their search. Chimera’s plan was to question those the group came across and use her powers to learn the truth from them if necessary.
Who they didn’t expect to find was one Dr. Teresa Holland, an angry but brilliant researcher who had designed a pair of energy gauntlets. She wasn’t thinking clearly at the time and her plan was to use the gauntlets to get her own personal revenge on those who had blocked her path to success.
Chimera understood her problems and managed to get the new Dr. Photon to join up with the Furies, at least preventing her from doing something she’d regret for now. Dr. Photon suggested checking the basement. And so the Furies were making their way to the basement when they came across Backlash and Eldrich, who were out searching for the missing VIPER agent.
Both Hardbody and Dr. Photon make threats, but Chimera tries to smooth over the situation.
“That is enough!” Chimera shoots back to Hardbody. “We must remain focused on the real enemy here. These two are not our enemies.”

Roll Call: Frostbite, Goldstar, Stargirl, Menagerie, Flux, Tesla, Starguard, and the Scarlet Sabre
Once upon a time there was an alien humanoid race not all that different from humans. They were a highly advanced and peaceful culture. They explored the universe in ships that could move through space and dimension.
One day, their ship pierced a dimension that never should have been pierced. It was a prison dimension were foul and malevolent creatures called the Ancient Ones were imprisoned. One of these elder evils, Azog, reached out to the ship and drained the life force of the humanoids away. Using that energy, he bound his most powerful lieutenant, the Crimson Claw, to the ship creating a connection between the two.
Thus, when the ship left the prison dimension, the Crimson Claw followed and was freed. He then embarked on the plan of his master to permanently escape the prison dimension. A contest was created to locate the most powerful humans. The winner would receive the Greater Emerald Eye of Azog, but it was not really a great prize. The Greater Eye would transform the human into a living gateway through which the Children of Azog could flow. The Lesser Eyes, while powerful, could not open such a gateway. Once Azog arrive on earth, it would bind itself with the most powerful of humans and in turn gain their powers as well as part of its plan of conquest.
But it was not to be. The Greater Eye did come into the possession of Borealis and he did become a living gateway to that dark prison dimension. The Children of Azog did come forth, but the Earth’s defenders did hold them off. Then the Archmage of Earth teleported Borealis and the gate he had become back to the Prison Dimension along with the Crimson Claw. The threat was seemingly over and even the Claw’s ship appeared to be destroyed.
But appearances can be deceiving. A trio of operatives of Tesseract were acting behind the scenes. Among their missions was to make it look like that the Claw’s ship had been destroyed, while it was actually sent to another place in time and space where it could be used for a more beneficial purpose.
Their second mission was to save a life and in the process prevent events from one of their own from unfolding in the way that it had, thus changing that reality to something better. Thus the reality of one of the operatives never came to be and she, in essence, became a lost hero, an operative of Tesseract with no real home in time and space. But she was reunited with her one true love and all was well.
The plans succeed and the Claw’s ship reappeared inside the orbit of Mercury out in space. The Vigilant and their allies were there to greet the ship and restore it to operational status. It would become the base for Project: Starwatch, a series of satellites that would monitor the entire Solar System.
But the bond between the Crimson Claw and the ship remained. Thus, when the ship reappeared, the Claw was inevitably drawn to it. He thrust his arm into the Gateway that Borealis had become and it was drawn with him back to the ship. The pair returned to the Arena level of the ship where they had been not long ago, at least from their perspective. Azog’s plan of conquest continued!

The Claw and the Children of Azog have returned! There is no reason to talk and battle is joined.
Tesla blasts the Crimson Claw, but he shows no effect from the attack. Without Vincent Dimitrios magic to change her blasts into something lethal to the invaders, they are not as potent.
The Scarlet Sabre gasps in horror, as the Children of Azog are unleashed. Her energy sabre is activated and she slices and slashes into them. Starguard is by her side, pounding the invaders with his energy mace.
Goldstar spreads her Photon Blast to cover the entire Gateway and it blows away the Shadow Demons there upon impact. But the monsters keep coming through the portal in a seemingly infinite flood. Stargirl destroys another with her own Photon Blast.
Menagerie takes out the next batch that comes through by generating a field of bright light that covers the entire area around the gateway! The attack envelops everyone present as well. Everyone is affected by it in varying degrees as none were expecting it. Flux, Tesla, Frostbite, Goldstar, and Stargirl were all temporarily blinded by the attack. The lenses in Scarlet’s hood protect her from the light, as does the Starguard’s armor. Menagerie was unaffected by her own attack, but unfortunately, the light didn’t blind the Crimson!
Frostbite suddenly holds his attack, as he can no longer see his target clearly and fears he might hit a friend. Flux had moved to a position where he could grow underneath the Claw and separate him from Borealis. He does so in spite of not being able to see and feels the solid impact with the Crimson Claw and the master villain goes flying off.
“I believe I can be off assistance,” Edgar will report over the Comlinks. “I’ve been told that there is weaponry in this Arena that can be used to help the situation. Captain Lightning used it during the earlier battle. Activating now.”
High above the Arena floor, dozens of panel’s open and the barrels of energy weapons emerge. Under control of Edgar, the weapons discharge in sequence, taking out any new Child of Azog as it emerges from the Gateway, effectively taking them out as they emerge.
Those who can still see, Menagerie, Starguard, and the Scarlet Sabre can see that the flood from the Gateway is being blunted, just leaving the Claw himself as the only tangible threat. The Claw picks himself up from being thrown by Flux, seemingly unharmed from the brutal assault. Scarlet shouts a warning but is too late.
“You’ll pay for that indignity!” The Claw roars. He rushes giant-sized Flux with inhuman speed and slashes into the hero’s leg with his claws!
Flux’s skin just barely resists puncturing, but the attack was incredibly painful! The pain nearly overwhelms Flux, but he manages to stay conscious.
GM Notes:

To Infinity, And Beyond!
Menagerie:
The shadow creatures flood into the arena as unpleasant memories flood into Menagerie's mind. Panicking, she unleashes her powerful light burst attack. The attack takes out a huge swath of the creatures, rewarding Lily with relief and elation.
It is only a few moments later that Menagerie realizes that her attack also blinded many of her companions!
"Oh no!" she exclaims. "I'm sorry!" Pausing to consider, it looks like at least Scarlet Sabre and Starguard are still functional. Hopefully they can deal with the Claw while she does something about the Eye...
Just then, Edgar takes over the ship's internal weaponry, which seems to be keeping the Children of Azor at bay. Lily realizes that she is free to help the others with the alien invader. However, she is too slow and the Claw nearly disembowels Flux!
With no better options at her disposal, Menagerie switches to Quasar's beam attack and unleashes a full power bolt at the Claw.

Backlash
“It was a Viper airship, all are dead, but something or someone got out alive.”
“If we come across the Viper agent on the way, we will have to take him or her out quickly and then move on to the Genocide Lab. Is that agreeable?
“I see,” Chimera calmly states. “Then if I may ask, just whom did this vessel belong to? My companions are on edge as we are expecting battle at any time. They couldn’t be sure just who your intentions are, but they will follow my commands. I have no issue with the occupants of this edifice, as you put it, as long as they are not involved with the Genocide Base. That is my only concern in this mission.”
“It was a Viper airship, all are dead, but something or someone got out alive.”
“It is the greater of the evils at the moment.” He says back evenly, “The rest of The Viligant, should be here shortly.” He says knowing how full of a lie it is, but then would they take it at face value?“Says the man in the Halloween costume,” Chimera responds. “Look, I’ve already stated our purpose for being here. There is a Genocide laboratory here and whatever new evil they are creating there must be destroyed for the good of all. Surely you cannot be opposed to that?”

Take your best shot!

Frostbite
Frostbite suddenly holds his attack, as he can no longer see his target clearly and fears he might hit a friend. Flux had moved to a position where he could grow underneath the Claw and separate him from Borealis. He does so in spite of not being able to see and feels the solid impact with the Crimson Claw and the master villain goes flying off.
A sudden flash of light bursts forth causing dots of black and light about his eyes. He tries to peer through it but can’t and holds off his attack. Not wanting to hamper any of those around him Frostbite will focus on his body making his body thicken up and become spikey like some medieval armor (Everything to PD/Hardened) If by some chance he can see by the time his turn comes around, he will do as previously posted.

Goldstar
Goldstar:
The dark Children of Azog are held at bay by the group's power. They are being blown away as fast as they arrive. Then disaster! A blinding flash fills the area and Goldstar can no longer see. She can hear Edgar relate that he’s using the ships own weapons to keep the children under control.
“If you’re blinded and can fly, rise up slowly! The Claw is land bound and you’ll be safer higher up!”
As Goldstar rises up, she can’t help but realize something that Frostbite said. He told the Claw that we’re in space. At the very least, we don’t have to worry about them getting loose on Earth just yet. So the situation is contained for a time. However, a permanently solution is going to be needed. This ship won’t do us any good if the Claw keeps appearing!

Stellar!
Stargirl
Stargirl:
Gloria thinks that she’s ready for this, but really she’s not. The arrival of the invaders just freaks her out! She does manage to fire her Photon Blast as directed and it seems to disintegrate the ugly little clawed maniacs.
The next thing Gloria knows, she can’t see!
“What the hell was that?”
“If you’re blinded and can fly, rise up slowly! The Claw is land bound and you’ll be safer higher up!”
“Makes sense to me,” Stargirl thinks as she rises up.
“Some people are just never happy!”Frostbite wrote:"Well the view isn't too shabby but where's my peanuts?" he asks back playfully.

Time to rise and shine!
Lavender
Lavender:
Lavender looks around after they arrive at their destination. There are numerous armed men in uniforms and two clearly more powerful folks as well.
Reaching out with her power, Lavender will attempt to teleport the armored might right into the path of any large obstacle on the rooftop. Perhaps he’ll knock himself out.

“Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire,” Lavender mutters. “I’ll see what I can do, boss. But there are built in safeguards to my teleporting powers to compensate for ‘rough landings’. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to hurt him in that manner.”Blackout wrote:"Clearly we're late to this party," Blackout whispers to Lavender. As he studies the situation he can't help the nagging feeling that these adversaries are somehow familiar. "Time to even up the odds," he says after a moment. "Can you take care of the armor-clad man? Maybe put him through a few rough 'ports?" he'll ask Lavender.

a little change..
Blackout:
"Good to know," Blackout says as he moves into position, not really liking her use of "boss" but he lets it go. "Just keep him occupied then and I'll deal with him in a bit."“Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire,” Lavender mutters. “I’ll see what I can do, boss. Though she can see, this advice sounds reasonable to Lily to she flies up out of reach even as she unleashes her attack at the Claw.Goldstar wrote:“If you’re blinded and can fly, rise up slowly! The Claw is land bound and you’ll be safer higher up!”
