Blackout:
“That sounds very lonely,” Lavender quietly answers. “Hiding, keeping secrets from others. Never letting anyone get too close. So why do you do this? Choose to live this way?”
"It's more for security reasons than a choice," Blackout explains. "If villains knew who I was, they could try to hurt me through any regular friends or family I might have. There are a few other types of jobs that make it tough for normal relationships, like police and government, only they're not usually so extreme as us super heroes."
“But that’s the problem right there. I don’t know how to act independent or even as someone’s equal. It’s just not the way I’m wired. Sorry.
“Going out would be great! I haven’t had much of chance to just look around either. All I have is the clothes on my back, so that might be a problem unless you don’t mind going out and mingling dressed like this. It sounds like it could be fun.”
Blackout lets the first part of that lie. It definitely doesn't seem like there is any way to help Lavender, but certainly isn't going to give up trying. Talking about it further right now though will only end up frustrating him, and probably her.
"Well, I don't really have anything here that you could easily wear," Blackout says. "A long coat would be too conspicious, and a bit too warm, in the middle of a California summer. We'll probably get a few looks, but we can definitely go out though if that won't bother you."
“You’re blind?” Lavender says in surprise. “I never would have guessed. How could I think less of you? I was born in an alien lab by giant cockroaches. It takes a little be more than finding out your blind to freak me out. To think that you’re this kind to me and can’t even see me just impresses me further.”
Lavender will lean forward and kiss Blackout full on the lips.
“That’s just a taste of what I can do. I’ve been fully trained as a professional companion. I can tend to your every want or need.”
"Well it's not something I..." the rest of what Blackout was about to say is lost as her lips meet his. He wraps his arms around her and is lost in the moment. His heart continues to thunder in his chest, but for a different reason now.
"Just a taste and I'm ready to fall completely for you," Blackout finally manages to say, smiling a bit. "Lady, you sure make it hard to concentrate on anything else."
“Since we’re sharing secrets,” Lavender continues, “then I have two minor ones to share with you since you need to know everything about me. Lavender was not my given name. A former owner who favored these color of garments on me gave it to me, and the name stuck. Rihalla was my original name.”
"Rihalla, I like that," Blackout replies.
“Lastly, I do have one other minor power that I’ve noticed no one else possessing.”
Lavender’s long black hair will move of it’s own accord; it moves forward and will wrap itself and around the back of Blackout’s neck and lovingly stroke his face.
“Not sure why they gave me that ability, but I can use my hair like another hand.”
The sensation is very unique and not at all what Blackout was expecting. The control she has over her hair is flawless and he thinks just how dangerous that could be if she decided to use it as a weapon, luring someone in close. He keeps those thoughts to himself though, and merely says, "Well, that's... different."
If ask what she’d like to do, Lavender will say that some food, a shower, and sleep would be wonderful.
Blackout will show her the rest of his apartment, including where the shower is. He'll get her some towels and make something quick to eat. By the time they're both heading to bed, it's probably really early in the morning.
