GM Notes: Here's the rest of October.
October 25th -
(The Frontier) The Seekers of the Sword arrive at King's Road Keep. (TF#140)
(New Frontiers) Lord Vanarkus, Lord Rowan and Lord Kalindor are finally summoned to see the king. All are announced by the King's Herald. With the king are those who serve as his advisers, the Council of Lords. The council consists of Sir Alon Teramar, Lady Teris Penhaligon, Lord Sharadin Sculley, Lord Tameron Antonic, Dame Sharl Harlena, Lord Ustev Vandevic, Lord Mikel Vorloi, and Lord Lander Torenscu. Lord Vanarkus reports the Guardians activities to the King. In response, the king congratulates them and lays out his plan of action. Two more enemy forces are on the march towards Corunglain. Ember wished all the important people in the kingdom to come to Corunglain in its time of need. He was sure they would drive away his horde, but would fall to the next waves he sent. To counteract this, forces will be sent to attack the force coming directly to Corunglain. That group will be lead by Sir Alon Teramar and Dame Sharl Harlena. The Guardians will be assigned to reclaim Fort Fletcher to the north of Ardelphia from the undead who dwell there and then prepare it to face the remaining enemy army. After that, the Guardians will begin to move into Ardelphia to work to recover that fallen city. The Stone House will be used to move the entire group to Fort Fletcher along with supplies. A few days later more supplies and support troops will arrive. Lady Aria Stonehand will be leading the dwarf contingent in this matter. Joining her is a dwarven scout named Farian Silverpike. The King invites Lord Vanarkus and Lord Kalindor to join his Council of Lords. They accept.
From there, Lord Sharadin reveals what he knows about the Guardian Shield. It was a magic item that the Ardel family had made that was supposed to free their land from humanoid invasion. The shield consists of four parts: the Shield of Justice, the Shield of Life, the Shield of Protection and the Shield of Magic. Each shield is connected to the main Cynalonian gods. The Shield of Protection is here in Corunglain, but the locations of the others are unknown. After Lord Sharadin finishes his presentation, Lady Jallarzi Sallavarian and Lady Gabriella Allonica are announced. Both are also council members. Lady Allonica reports that the elves will agree to the King's request, but have one of their own as well. They require that Lord Sherwood assists them in a private, elfin matter. The King wonders if Lord Sherwood has been seen lately and Lord Sharadin says that he has not.
The King states that Drakkimor and his band have gone after the drow who fled with Corunglain prisoners into the Underdark. Scouts are being sent to New Keln to locate this Xanathom and those nobles she took with her. The King recalls reports he read about the Pillar Artifact and wonders if it could be used to reach New Keln. Lord Sharadin reports that he has discontinued use of the artifact after it mistakenly sent the Seekers to Karn's Keep instead of Gateway and after it duplicated Argent. The King reluctantly agrees with the archmage's reasoning. (NF#61-63)

Re: CR 571 October 25th to 28th
(Blackflame) Next morning Lia and Talen engage in practice swordplay as Yusef watches. Talen then takes Yusef to the nearby village where the last of the Hutaaka dwell. Kylie asks Nightmist if she knows anything about her missing mother. Nightmist says that she can cast a Commune daily and will do so to find out about Kylie's missing mother. That evening Nightmist casts her Commune underneath the stars but something seems to go wrong. Energy builds up from Lilia and it strikes Kylie, Nariya, Talen and Lia seemingly paralyzing them.
The five struck by the energy suddenly find themselves in a sylvan glade deep in an elfin forest. A seven foot tall elf speaks to the group and they are all in awe of his presence. He apologizes to Lilia for using her in this manner, but it was necessary. The tall elf then tells Kylie that her mother is really Alluriean Feador and that she actually left on a mission to save the Mother Tree. The five are given godly energy from him and told that they must impart it on the Mother Tree before she perishes. The tall elf and the glade starts to fade and just for a moment Lia spots Eillstraee herself off in the distance.
The five then find themselves back in the Lost Valley flat on their backs. Lilia recover first, since she's been through something like this before. She says that the tall elf was none other than Corellon Larethian, the father of all elves. Even more astonishing, the All Father called everyone present his children, even the half-elves. Unsure what just happened, Lilia tells the story of the elves and the Mother Tree. Long ago the elves grew up in a place they called Evergreen with the Mother Tree. A great disaster happened and the elves were force to abandon Evergreen as it vanished underneath ice and snow. The early elves uprooted the Mother Tree and carried her to a new home in the Sylvan Realm. The Mother Tree was replanted and the Sylvan Realm was transformed into a great elfin forest. In time, the elf population grew too large for the Sylvan Realm and all but one of the clans set out to find a new home. Each clan took a branch of the Mother Tree with them and King Dorwynn created a rainbow bridge to take the elves to their new home. This new home became the Dorwynn Elfholds in the northern part of the Cynalon lands. Some six hundred years ago, Clan Feador was forced to abandon the Sylvan Realm due to an invasion force led by a mage named Moorkroft. The Mother Tree was hidden and a few stayed behind to tend to the Mother Tree and wait out the invasion force. If the Mother Tree dies, the the Daughter Trees will die as well, as they are all mystically linked. Without the Mother Tree the great elfin forests will wilt and die and the elfin way of life would be forever changed. It seems that the five need to find a new way to reach the Sylvan Realm and not use the randomly appearing Rainbow Bridge. Sherwood will teleport the group to Jallarzi's estate come morning. (BF #8-9)

October 26th -
(The Frontier) The Seekers leave King's Road Keep and reach a stop-over in the hills called High Top. Padraig notes that the group is being scryed by someone named Har. (TF#140)
(Blackflame) In response to the Elfquest having been given those of elfin blood, Sherwood starts to teleport the group out of the Lost Valley. Initially he takes Rat, Lilia and Kylie with him to the Sallavarian Estate. There he is given a note from Jallarzi by Hanna. It tells him of the situation going on in Corunglain so Sherwood teleports everyone there. At Corunglain they meet Lady Teris Penhaligon at the teleport arrival area. Sherwood then teleports back to the Lost Valley and takes the rest of the group to Corunglain using Lifeshield. (BF #9)
GM Notes: That concludes the Blackflame game as it stories picks up back in New Frontiers. With the game going in a whole different direction and when it returned it was now called “Elfquest”.
(New Frontiers) Lady Teris reports that Lord Sherwood was here, but left again as he is bringing the band of adventurers he was traveling with all here to Corunglain. Sure enough Lord Sherwood does arrive at the Council of Lords not long after that. Sherwood accepts the mission the elves offered and states that Cynalon is not in any direct danger from the mission, but failure will greatly weaken their elfin allies.
When the King asks about the status of the Cult of the Blackflame, Lord Sherwood reports that he learned the location of the base that the Swords of Cynalon stormed to rescue the infant Crown Prince fifty years ago. He had planned on exploring it, but the elfin matter came up and seemed more important. The King agrees. Laucian and Valena agree to go along with Sherwood on the elf mission, while Yusef joins the Guardian. Rat joins up with Aria and her mission to restore Hammerfall.
Elsewhere in the Duke's Fortress the Guardians are reunited with Kylie and Lilia and meet Yusef, Master Finder Rat, Lia and Talen. Lord Sharadin and his daughters, Lady Sallavarian meet their new cousins Lia and Talen and spend time together. The mages share spells and learn new ones from Opikus' spellbooks. (NF#62-63)
Roster of the Guardians of Light: Sir Vanarkus (PL), Argent, Arocken, Chareos, Grondar, Ivy, Sir Kalindor, Lyonessa, Sir Rowan, Sherra and Yusef.
Roster of Elfquest group: Lord Sherwood (PL), Kylie, Laucian, Lia, Lilia, Nariya, Talen, and Valena.
Roster of Hammerfall group: Lady Aria Stonehand (PL), Farian, Grondar and Rat.

Re: CR 571 October 25th to 28th
October 27th -
(The Frontier) The Seekers of the Sword reach the City of Penhaligon, the capital of the Baron of Penhaligon within the Duchy of Wulwolde. (TF#140)
(New Frontiers) Lord Sherwood, and the elves going with him, teleport from Corunglain to Alfheim in the Elfholds. Lady Sallavarian assists in the task so that only one trip is necessary. Afterwards Lady Sallavarian returns to Corunglain. Lord Vanarkus is reunited with Lady Allonica. Gabriella explains that she has been working as a negotiator for the king for some time now. Mainly in keeping eyes out for promising allies and like-minded individuals, but handling more negotiations lately.
Mid-morning the Guardians are summoned before the King. Along with His Majesty is Dame Harlena, Sir Teramar and Lady Allonica. Lord Vanarkus, Lord Kalindor, and Lord Rowan are all knighted by the king for their service to the kingdom. The rest of the Guardians, with the exception of Grondar who is not a Cynalonian citizen are warded the title of Court Lord/Lady. Plans are made for the Guardians arrival at Fort Fletcher.
That evening, Sir Vanarkus has a private meal with Lady Allonica. Sir Kalindor does the same with Lady Ivy and after the meal asks her to marry him. Lady Ivy accepts. (NF#63-66)
(Elfquest) Lord Sherwood and the elves arrive in Alfheim at the Cynalonian Embassy with an assist from Lady Sallavarian. There they meet Lord Sergei Pyotrev, the Cynalonian Ambassador. A Clan Elder of the Grunalf Clan. Arloen Treelife, is here too. The group, save for Jallarzi and Sergei, are led to the Sky Palace, the home of the Elfin King. They use the stairs and rope bridges that connect all the trees in the area into one large overhead passageway. The Sky Palace is built on the branches of three giant oak trees high up in the sky.
At the Sky Palace they meet King Doriath, the current ruler. Doriath has ruled for over two hundred years and was an adviser to the previous king before that. He was an adventurer when he was younger and knew Victor the First, the founder of Cynalon itself. Unlike human monarchies, the Elfin King only deals with outside relations to the elves. The Clan Council sets the internal policy. King Doriath explains that they are allowing Sherwood to go on this mission due to his past efforts with the recovery of the library of Thiondar Nightstar. The King has items to help on the Elfquest. There is a Star Map and a map of the Sylvan Realm itself. The King explains that several hundred Keepers remained behind to tend to the Mother Tree. They merged with existing trees in a state of suspended animation until they were needed. The Elfin King gives Sherwood a pendant that will transform him into an elf when worn. Boots and Cloaks of Elfinkind are provided for those who do not have them.
After finishing up with the Elfin King, the group returns to the Cynalonian Embassy. There Jallarzi helps in teleporting the group to Karn's Keep and then she teleports back to Corunglain. The group is impressed at the sheer size of Karn's Keep. They encounter Zynara briefly and then run into Sherry and Terry. The twins say that Lord Sharadin is away, but that they can show the group what he had in mind. The twins lead the way into the depths of Karn's Keep and using a secret passage emerge at a dock on a small lake behind the keep. A flat-bottom river barge sits there. The twins produce a fancy looking crown that they call the Crown of the Stars. The Company of the Sword located it in the keep when they explored earlier. One of the twins puts it on and then is able to make the barge rise up and fly around! This was the method of reaching the distant Sylvan Realm that Lord Sharadin had in mind. The group agrees that this would be easier than traveling to the far side of the continent. Everyone takes a turn in using the Crown of the Stars so that they are familiar with it, except for Nariya as she does not have any spell casting ability. The group relaxes for the rest of the day and the mages spend time with the Keeps spell library. (EQ#1-3)
GM Notes: A lot of throwbacks to the Q-Link games here. Karn's Keep and the Crown of the Stars are all from Sword of Doom and Zynara was a member of the Seekers.

Re: CR 571 October 25th to 28th
October 28th –
(The Frontier) The Seekers of the Sword take a riverboat south from Penhaligon and reach Alexandria, the Cynalon capital city. Lord Armon Flamehilt receives a message summoning him to his family estate here in Alexandria. He returns announcing that must leave the Seekers. Stephanie re-assumes her leadership role with Claudius. (TF#140)
Roster of the Seekers of the Sword: Claudius, Stephanie (PL), Dani, Fiben, Finrod, Kit, Mercy, Padraig, Perrel, Schar and Tania.
GM Notes: Lord Flamehilt's player actually left a little later than this, while the group was out at sea. It just made more sense for him to leave now. Just why will be seen down the road.
(New Frontiers) Sir Teramar and Dame Harlena depart with their forces to engage the approaching humanoid horde coming from the north. Lord Antonic and Lady Penhaligon also depart to shore up Fort Runnels. Later in the day, the King departs with Lady Sallavarian and Lady Allonica, teleporting to Elcadan.
A feast is held in the honor of the Guardians of Light that evening. Sir Kalindor and Lady Ivy announce their engagement. (NF#64-66)
(Elfquest) The maps of Lord Karn are gone over and the group believes they know where the Sylvan Realm is located. However, the maps are out of date so might not be completely accurate. The archers set up an archery range on the third level of the keep in a huge storage area to help pass the time while the mages practice using the Crown of Stars and study new spells. Lord Sharadin arrives late in the afternoon and gives the mages the particulars on the Mage Guild here. Supplies are gathered for the trip to the Sylvan Realm and are stored on the barge. The group will depart in the morning. Lord Sharadin arranges a small feast for the group filled with mostly traditional elfin dishes and Feywine. (EQ#3)
GM Notes: And that wraps up October. November is even larger. It's the size of September and October combined! It'll be at least 8 threads, if not more.
